Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. (Habakkuk 3:18)
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; (Romans 5:3)
Charles Spurgeon

We cannot learn patience without tribulation

The only way to learn patience is through practice, which is done through tribulation. Even though tribulation in itself causes petulance, unbelief, and rebellion, it is through the grace of God that it works patience in us. We should embrace our tribulations and ask for the removal of our impatience instead. We should ask Jesus to engrave the image of His patience in our hearts. Read more...

Oscar Rodríguez : Amen my God, give me patience.
What a beautiful prayer, Oscar! Asking God for patience is an act of humility and trust in His perfect plan for our lives. As Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional, patience is something learned through tribulation. In Romans 5:3, we are reminded that tribulations produce patience in us. So, even though it may be difficult at times, let us remember that in the midst of trials we can rejoice in the Lord, as Habakkuk 3:18 encourages us. May God's grace strengthen you in the midst of whatever difficulty you may be going through!
Efigenia Vidal : Lord, you have made me understand that everything that happens in my life works for good. Therefore, give me patience and self-control over impatience, because in your time I will bear the fruits of your purpose in me, for your glory and honor, in the name of Jesus. Amen. God bless you.
What a beautiful and powerful prayer, Efigenia! Recognizing that everything that happens in our lives works for our good, as Romans 8:28 teaches us, is a reminder of God's sovereignty and love. Asking for patience and self-control in the face of impatience is key to being able to wait on His perfect timing, just as Habakkuk 3:18 urges us. May God's grace sustain and strengthen you in the midst of any challenge, and may you trust in His sovereign plan for your life. May God bless you and keep you in His loving care!
Angela Taborda : Excellent message. Right now I'm going through a difficult situation, but I know God will give me the strength to move forward.
Hello Angela! Your words reflect great faith and trust in God. In the midst of complex situations, it is comforting to remember that God strengthens and sustains us. As Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional, trials can be instruments in God's hands to forge patience in us. Trust that He will give you the strength you need to move forward, as Romans 5:3 reminds us. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, fill your heart during this difficult time. May God bless you and sustain you with His unfailing love!
Sabino Marroquin Lopez: Although things have not gone well for me yet and I have not had good results with my projects, I trust, I have faith and hope in My GOD amen.
Hello Sabino! Sometimes, in the midst of challenges and when the results aren't as expected, maintaining faith and hope in God can be a true act of courage. Remember, as Habakkuk 3:18 says, we can rejoice in the Lord despite the circumstances. Trust that God is at work in your projects and that His plan is perfect, even when we don't fully understand. As Charles Spurgeon mentions, tribulation can forge in us patience and trust in God. May His peace envelop you and may your faith be strengthened in the midst of any challenge! May God bless you and guide you on your path!
Francisco Diaz S.: In the hour of anguish, of tribulation, of despair is when we will know if we truly have faith, because it is very easy to say "I believe in God, I have faith in God" when we are in prosperity and lack nothing. - If our faith and our trust in God is firm it will remain under any circumstance because we will know that the Lord does not abandon us. - Glory to God
What a profound reflection, Francis! Indeed, it is in times of anguish and tribulation that our faith is tested and reveals its true strength. As you mention, it is easy to trust in God in times of prosperity, but it is in the midst of difficulties that our faith is tested and strengthened. Let us remember that God's faithfulness is constant, as Habakkuk 3:18 reminds us, and we can cling to His promise to be with us at all times. May your faith continue to grow and strengthen, and may God's peace fill your heart in the midst of any situation. Glory to God for His unfailing faithfulness and love!
Rodolfo Manuel Quirós Ramirez : Beautiful message. A pastor once told us, brothers and sisters, if you don't have problems, worry because something is happening in your spiritual life. And it's true, the Lord is molding us little by little. And that is a sign from God. God bless you always.
What wise words, Rodolfo Manuel! The idea that problems and trials in our spiritual life are a molding process by God is very comforting. As Romans 5:3 mentions, tribulations produce patience in us, helping us grow and strengthen our faith. It is in these moments of difficulty that we can appreciate the work God is doing in our lives. May you continue to trust in His perfect plan for you and may His grace sustain you at all times. May God bless you richly and keep you in His loving care!
