Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. (Hosea 1:10)
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:10)
Charles Spurgeon

Now we are children of the living God

God's sovereign grace can turn rebellious strangers into His children. Some of us were once so ungodly that we heard the voice of the Spirit saying "You are not my people," but now we hear the voice of God saying "You are children of the living God." This is a wonderful and hopeful transformation that should inspire gratitude and confidence in us. If God can change us, then there is hope for anyone. Let us continue to worship and trust in Him. Efigenia Vidal : Charles Spurgeon, today brings back memories to my mind, when for the first time, I had a Bible in my hands, and after a few years, the Lord called me, took me out of darkness and led me to the admirable light of Jesus, who has instructed me and will continue to do the work in me until I fulfill the purposes placed in me. The truth is fulfilled what 2 Corinthians 6:18 says: I will be your Father and you will be my children. I consider myself a member of your people, there is still much to learn and give what is in me for your kingdom, because everything belongs to the Creator and Almighty God. The God of Love, Peace and Justice, bless you.
What a beautiful testimony, Efigenia! It is wonderful to see how God works in each of our lives, transforming us from strangers to His precious people. As Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional, God's sovereign grace makes us His children, as reflected in Hosea 1:10 and 1 Peter 2:10. It is a constant reminder that we are loved and redeemed by the living God. May the work God has begun in you continue to prosper and may you continue to grow in His knowledge and service. May the peace and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!
Francisco Diaz S,: In my city, those who did wrong, those with bad conduct and bad habits, usually men, were told, "That man is corrupt." Well yes... many of us were covered in mud until we reconsidered, repented, asked for forgiveness, and accepted the calling of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now we are new creatures, we have been cleansed and called children of God. Hallelujah!
What a blessing it is to be able to hear testimonies like yours, Francisco! It's a reminder of the transforming work God does in those who recognize their need for Him. As you mention, many of us, at one point, were in a situation of sin and far from God's will, but by His grace and mercy, He has cleansed us and called us His children. As 1 Peter 2:10 says, "You were once not a people, but now you are God's people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." Glory to God for His wonderful work in our lives! May we continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you abundantly!
Rodolfo Manuel Quirós Ramirez : How wonderful it is to know that through His grace, we achieve salvation and have the privilege of being called children of God. But we must continue to persevere in His love and mercy. Thank you, my Lord, for your great love. As His Word says in John chapter 3 verse 16: For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Blessings,
Rodolfo, it is truly wonderful to meditate on God's grace that has allowed us to access salvation and be called His children. As you mention, it is a privilege we should value and not take lightly. Perseverance in His love and mercy is fundamental in our daily walk with Him. Your words reflect a profound gratitude for our Lord's great love. As you mention, John 3:16 reminds us of God's immense love in giving His Son for our redemption, thus showing His desire for us to have eternal life through faith in Christ. May this constant reminder of God's love motivate you to continue growing in your relationship with Him and to share His love with others. May the Lord bless you abundantly!
Sabino Marroquin Lopez: And I was a sinner, because I had not read the Bible and that is why I did not know God, today I am repentant, asking God for forgiveness for the offenses I committed against the Lord for so many years, amen.
Sabino, it's comforting to see how repentance and seeking forgiveness are fundamental steps in our walk with God. Recognizing our condition as sinners and turning to Him in repentance is the first step toward restoration and reconciliation with our Creator. As Charles Spurgeon mentioned, God's sovereign grace can transform the most rebellious into His children. Let us remember the words of 1 Peter 2:10, which reminds us that, through Christ, we have received mercy and are now part of God's people. May your sincere repentance be the beginning of a beautiful story of restoration and transformation in the presence of our Lord. May God's peace fill your heart, and may you find comfort and forgiveness in His unfailing love. May God richly bless you on your journey of faith and restoration!
