God speaks today Sunday | April 23, 2023

That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place. (1 Kings 8:29)
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (1 John 5:14)

Unanswered prayers

Just because we pray for something doesn't mean God will grant it. We can't command God to obey us, and we shouldn't fall into the trap of thinking that prayer is a magic wand that will make everything we want come true. Sometimes God denies our requests, even if they are sincere and just. We should trust that God knows what is best for us and that His love is still present even when things don't turn out the way we wish. Just like Paul learned to live with his thorn, we too can learn to trust in God's plan for us. Read more...

Comments:

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : Thank you, my LORD, for so many requests that I have made, and they have not been fulfilled, but they have turned out better for me. Hallelujah.
What a beautiful testimony, Enrique! It is true that sometimes our prayers are not answered in the way we expect, but we must be certain that God has a perfect plan for our lives. As Alberto González Muñoz says in his devotional, "we have the confidence that if we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us" (5:14). Perhaps what we thought was the best for us was not really so and God in his infinite wisdom granted us something better. And as you rightly mention, hallelujah for that! Let's keep trusting that God always works for our good.
Francisco Diaz S.: Your will be done here on earth as it is in Heaven.- Let us accept God's will and give thanks for his infinite mercy.- Let us think; How many bad things will God have delivered us from and we haven't realized?
That's right, Francis! In the Our Father, Jesus teaches us to ask that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Accepting God's will is not always easy, but we must remember that He always has a purpose behind everything He allows. As Alberto González Muñoz mentions in his devotional, "God is in control and knows the best path for us" (8:29). And as you say, many times we don't realize how many bad things God has delivered for us. That is why it is important to be grateful for his infinite mercy and trust that he is always working for our good.
Gustavo Martinez Afanador : God does everything with the best intentions, let us worry about being faithful and serving him in the work, that other things will come, he loves us so much that he wants the best for his children, they are God's promises. Blessings
What beautiful words, Gustavo! It is true that God always has the best intentions for us, and we must worry about being faithful and serving him in his work. As Alberto González Muñoz mentions in his devotional, "God always has a perfect plan for our lives" (8:29). And as you well say, they are promises from God. He loves us so much that he wants the best for us, and we must trust that all things will work together for our good. May God bless you too, Gustavo.
Jorge Pérez Folgar: True
Thanks for your comment, George! Without a doubt, the truth is one of the most important characteristics that we must have as children of God. As Alberto González Muñoz mentions in his devotional, "We must have the confidence that if we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us" (5:14). And that is the truth that gives us hope and moves us to continue trusting that God always has a perfect plan for us. God bless you.
Sara Gaspar: May His grace suffice for us.
Amen, Sarah! God's grace is sufficient for us at all times. As Alberto González Muñoz mentions in his devotional, "we must trust that God is always in control and knows the best path for us" (8:29). And his grace is what sustains us and gives us the strength to keep going in difficult situations. May we always depend on her grace and find in her the peace and security we need.
Sabino Marroquín López.: When we pray and ask and we do not receive what we ask for, because what we ask for is not good for God, we have to ask God to be: do his holy will, amen.
That's right Sabine! Sometimes we ask for things that are not the best for us and God, in his wisdom, does not grant them to us. That is why it is important to ask God that his will be done in our lives, as Alberto González Muñoz mentions in his devotional (8:29). Knowing that God is always in control and that his will is perfect gives us the peace and confidence we need to face any situation. Let us always pray that his will be done in us and that we can accept it with humility and gratitude. God bless you Sabine!
Rosa María : The word of God is completely true, in fact this biblical passage could be applied in my life since last year 2022 I suffered a serious illness and I cried out to God saying take this away from me because it hurts me Lord I couldn't take it anymore this passage was so significant in my life because he told me my grace is enough, my grace is enough I understood it as I do not give you a pain that I cannot bear I felt on the verge of death but the grace of my Lord Jesus was enough for me and I grew more in faith and hope And Although one may suffer the most terrible pain, the grace of our Lord is enough for us because he perfects himself in our weakness, it is like putting ourselves to the test to see how far we can endure and not deny our of him and his mercy and here I am still alive, loving him even more with all the strength of my being and believing that everything that comes from him works for the best, may God bless you
What a powerful testimony, Rosa María! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It is beautiful to see how the grace of God sustained you in your moment of pain and helped you grow in faith and hope, as Alberto González Muñoz mentions in his devotional (5:14). The perseverance and trust in God that you show are a true example for all of us. And it is true, as you say, that everything that comes from God works for the best and we can trust that he always has a perfect plan for our lives. May God continue to bless you and your family.
