And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread. (2 Kings 4:8)
And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. (Mark 2:4)

Action and passion in prayer

Our prayers should be accompanied by bold actions and expressed with passion and commitment. In the story of Blind Bartimaeus, we see these elements as he passionately cries out to Jesus despite criticism, takes desperate action, and declares his specific request for sight. Jesus responds to his faith and grants his request. Our prayers should be born from a heart that has incubated and hardened them over time, which has been concentrating and reducing them through repetition and cultivation until reaching the point of becoming a smooth, super concentrated and ultra-dense pebble. Enrique Meneses Muñoz : My LORD makes it clear to me how my prayers should be. Thank you GOD for everything you have done, and what you will do in me. Hallelujah.
What a beautiful reflection! As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, our prayers must be expressed with passion and commitment, as the blind Bartimaeus did in Mark 10:46-52. Furthermore, we must back them up with bold actions that demonstrate our faith in what we are asking for, just as the distinguished woman in 2 Kings 4:8 does by persuading Elisha to eat with her. May our prayer be clear and specific, like Bartimaeus's asking Jesus to recover his sight in just five words. And may that prayer be accompanied by bold actions and faith in God so great that it compels us to do the impossible, as the friends of the paralyzed man in Mark 2:4 did by lowering him through the roof for Jesus to heal him. Thank you for sharing your prayer and your faith in God!
Sabino Marroquín López: Because they had faith in Jesus, through the roof they entered the paralytic to where Jesus was, faith moves mountains, I have faith in God, I believe in Him and I give myself to Him, amen.
Amen, brother Sabino! As mentioned in his devotional Dr. Roberto Miranda, faith without works is dead. That faith that moves mountains is what drives us to do bold things like the friends of the paralyzed man in Mark 2:4, who because of their faith in Jesus, did not stop before obstacles and lowered him through the roof to be healed. May our faith in God be the same that leads us to do bold things in His name, and may our prayers express that passion and commitment to what we are asking for, as blind Bartimaeus did in Mark 10:46-52. May we continue to believe and surrender to Him with all our faith. God bless you!
Francisco Diaz S. : Let us ask God in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ as a son, insistently, asks his father and our merciful Father will hear our cry.- Glory to God.
Amen, brother Francisco! As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, when we present our requests to God, we must do it with passion and commitment, as the blind Bartimaeus did in Mark 10:46-52. But it is also true that we must present our requests with humility and trust in God's mercy, as you mention in your comment. Just as a son asks his father insistently, we must present our requests to God with humility and trust in His love and mercy. May our prayer be an expression of our faith and trust in God, and may He, in His infinite goodness and mercy, hear our cry and grant us what we ask. Glory to God!
GustavoMartinez Afanador: God's desire is that we carry the prayer, that it feel in the heart with a powerful FAITH and that action moves the heart of God and his mercy and the great love that the Lord has for us. Blessings
That's right, brother Gustavo! As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, our prayers must be expressed with passion and commitment, as the blind Bartimaeus did in Mark 10:46-52. And it is that same powerful faith that moves the heart of God and draws us closer to His love and mercy. It is wonderful to know that God's desire is that we carry our prayers with that same powerful faith, which allows us to believe in the impossible and ask for bold things in His name. May we continue to cultivate that faith in God and present our requests with passion and commitment, knowing that He listens to us and grants us what we ask according to His will. God bless you, brother Gustavo!
Merys : 🙏
Amen, sister Merys! May our prayer be an expression of our faith and trust in God, and may He, in His infinite goodness and mercy, hear our cry and grant us what we ask. That at all times we can raise our requests to the Lord with humility, gratitude and confidence, knowing that He is always willing to listen to us and to grant us what we ask according to His will. God bless you!
