You will be My witness, says Jehovah

SUMMARY: Paul was chosen by God to see and hear Him, and his testimony led to the spread of the Gospel. It is our duty to bear witness to what God has revealed to us, and to do so constantly and to all people. We must not remain silent, but be His witnesses to the world.

Paul was chosen to see and hear the Lord speaking to him from heaven. This divine election was a high privilege for Paul; but it was not intended to end there, but was intended to exert an influence on others; yes, above all men . It is to Paul that the world owes the Gospel at this hour.

It is up to us, in our measure, to be witnesses of what the Lord has revealed to us, and it is at our own risk that we conceal that precious revelation. First, we have to see and hear, otherwise we would have nothing to say; But when we have done that, we should be eager to bear our testimony. It has to be personal: "You will be." It must be for Christ: "You will be his witness." It must be constant and completely absorbing; we have to be this above all other things, and excluding many other things. Our testimony is not to be for a select few who greet us cheerfully; but to "all men", to all those we can reach, young or old, rich or poor, good or bad. We must never remain silent like those who are possessed by a mute spirit; for the text that is before us is an order, and a promise, and we must not lose it: "You will be his witness." "You are my witnesses, says Jehovah."

Lord keep this word for me too
