Faith to receive and to suffer

Andrés Cisterna
(Audio: Spanish)

SUMMARY: The speaker discusses the topic of faith and how it is often limited to personal benefits and material possessions. He argues that faith is more than that and should be based on a way of life and a way of looking at the giver of salvation. He talks about the importance of hearing the word of God and how faith is a necessary condition to move the hand of God. The speaker then focuses on the less popular but important aspect of faith, which is the willingness to live for a conviction of faith, even in times of difficulty and persecution. He cites Hebrews 11:36-37 as examples of those who experienced taunts, scourgings, prisons, and even death for their faith in Jesus Christ. The speaker emphasizes that true faith is through the name of Jesus Christ.

Faith is not just about receiving material blessings, it is about Jesus Christ. Our faith is tested in difficult times and we must have the courage to follow Jesus. We should not only focus on what we want, but on pleasing Jesus and loving Him. We need to change our limited concept of faith and focus on Jesus Christ. God has a purpose for our lives and wants to show His power through us. We are like the men and women in the Bible and God wants to use us to do great things.

What I talked about a month ago with you still turns me a little bit, about the daily vanishing that each one of us should have in our lives. In recent weeks I have been impacted by some kind of news that has been going around the world, especially our Christian brothers, pastors, missionaries and people who are in places where we think they should not have so many problems for preaching the word of the Lord and the good news.

But I was surprised by the reaction of many countries in the Middle East where the majority profess the Muslim religion, where many pastors, many men and women of God, many families, children, have been killed for preaching the Gospel. Others are in the process of being sentenced for the death penalty that they have for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and many are also being told that they can continue living if they deny their faith in Jesus.
