Dr. Roberto Miranda
SUMMARY: In this sermon, the speaker focuses on Ephesians 6:10-12, which emphasizes the need for believers to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. The passage goes on to discuss the idea of spiritual warfare and the need for believers to put on the full armor of God in order to stand against the devil's schemes. The speaker notes that while some churches may shy away from discussing the demonic or spiritual warfare, these concepts are an important part of the Christian worldview as presented in both the Old and New Testaments. The Christian life is portrayed as a war, and believers must be prepared to fight against the enemy. The speaker emphasizes the importance of living a life of power, which comes from our relationship with Jesus Christ, our dependence on the word of God, and a life of prayer, fasting, and holiness.
In this passage, the Apostle Paul is warning believers about the reality of the spiritual realm and the demonic forces that exist within it. He urges believers to put on the full armor of God in order to stand firm against the enemy's schemes. The Christian life is a constant battle against the powers of darkness, which are strategic and powerful. Believers must be aware of the demonic realm and take precautions to resist it. The struggle of the human race is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, authorities, and powers of the dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. It is important for believers to understand this hidden dimension of the Christian life in order to navigate it and live a life full of the power of God.
The Apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians talks about the spiritual warfare that believers face against the powers of darkness. The Christian's struggle is against the demonic realm that wants to take control of their life. The church must know how to pray against this and cover its people with the blood of Christ. Believers must put on the full armor of God, which includes the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of readiness, and the shield of faith. By standing firm and resisting the enemy with the truth and righteousness of Christ, believers can emerge victorious from the trials and tribulations of life.
Spiritual warfare is a reality for Christians, and the apostle Paul describes it in Ephesians 6:10-18. He lists several elements of spiritual armor that believers must put on to resist the attacks of the enemy. These include the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and sword of the spirit (which is the word of God). Christians must also pray in the spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. Prayer is a crucial part of spiritual warfare, and believers must not neglect it. Through prayer, the power of Jesus Christ can be called forth to bind Satan and overcome his attacks. Believers must also learn about spiritual warfare and navigate this realm, which is present 24/7.
Letter to the Ephesians and we’re going to go to chapter 6, an extremely well known passage, but one that can always support one more examination, one more moment of analysis because it has such good, good wisdom for our lives. So, I’m going to try to go through different pieces of the passage. I hope that I’ll be able to at least finish, you know, in some way the entire passage. And I’m going to refrain, hopefully, from being too, trying to be too incisive and too penetrating in one particular thing, because there’s so much material here to be covered.
But, let’s just read the first two or three verses. Ephesians, chapter 6, verse 10 to about verse 12. If you don’t have your Bible that’s ok, just listen to it and I’ll try to explain it as I go. It says: “Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power”. I mean, that’s really the summary of it all.
