Don't mourn too long

SUMMARY: When a loved one dies or a crisis comes, we should mourn for a limited time but then move on and embrace life again in the name of the Lord. Trials and losses are necessary for us to become people of faith and for God's mercy and faithfulness to be displayed. We should not expect everything to be easy as Christians, but with Christ by our side, we can emerge victorious from any trial. When we have a problem, we should not isolate ourselves but seek the Lord, pray with others, and declare our healing in the Lord before embracing life joyfully again.

I have never been able to mourn for too long when a loved one has died in the Lord. I know that they are covered with the blood of Christ, that one day I will see them and what I have to do is move on and embrace life again. When a crisis comes to your life, a loss Shake it off and move on in the name of the Lord. Look towards the future. "I continue to the goal," says Paul, "to the target that the Lord has destined for me." That is what a son does, a servant of God for more struggles and more trials he undergoes. He tries to put the past in its proper place and plunges into the future full of hope, feet firmly planted in the present and here.

How will God's mercy be fulfilled in your life if we don't go through a trial or loss that later puts God's mercy or faithfulness on display? How are we going to become people of faith if we don't go through some struggles? How can an athlete become a great athlete if he does not first go through great hardships and difficulties and exercises?

Life demands this in its natural processes, and it is no different in the supernatural world. I believe that we do evil to God's people by preaching to them that everything will be easy, that everything will go well for us, implicitly suggesting that we will not suffer problems if we are in Christ, if we have enough faith, if we pray enough. What we really have to say is: trouble will come but Christ is more powerful than trouble, and with him by our side, we can emerge victorious from any trial or loss, no matter how serious or how threatening.

When you have a problem, brother or sister, do like the widow who approached Elisha in the middle of his crisis. Do not die, do not stay at home depressed, listening to gloomy music to strengthen yourself more in your pain. Do not lock yourself in your house, do not stop answering the phone, do not stop looking for a sister, a brother to pray with. Do not stop looking for the Church, do not stop crying out to the Lord and praying and seeking His face, because that is the only hope you really have.

When you have a problem or suffer a loss, regret it but only for a limited time. Mourn for a little while, that's fine. To mourn and recognize that we have had a loss and that it hurts us is necessary and healthy. But then recover in the Spirit, declare your healing in the Lord, embrace life joyfully again, and move around proclaiming God's continued blessing in your life.
