Psalms 131:2 • Matthew 18:3
The sun is setting on my pride There is no place for me to hide The "great matters" I leave behind In the quiet, Your peace I find I used to cry for what I lacked But now I’m leaning on Your back.
Like a weaned child, I am still Resting in my Father’s will No more grasping, no more fear Only knowing You are near Hush now, soul, the work is done The Kingdom belongs to the little one.
The world is wide and I am small But You are the breath inside it all I’m turning back to simple ways To the beauty of Your gaze The "useless servant" finds his rest With a head against Your chest.
I lay down my crown I lay down my name In the arms of the Parent I have no shame.
Chorus Like a weaned child, I am still Resting in my Father’s will No more grasping, no more fear Only knowing You are near Hush now, soul, the work is done The Kingdom belongs to the little one.
Deeply dependent... Fully known... A weaned child... On Your throne... Amen.
