Psalms 23:2 • Matthew 11:29
The world spins fast, a restless tide, And in my heart, there's nowhere to hide. "I'm weary now," my spirit sighs, A mountain looms before my eyes. Not just the body, aching and slow, But deep within, where dreams won't grow. This heavy load, it takes its toll, A crushing weight upon my soul.
Oh, He makes me lie in green pastures wide, Leads me beside the quiet water's tide. "Come to Me, you who are worn and bowed," He whispers softly through the crowd. Take My yoke, it's gentle and light, And find true rest in His pure light. Yes, rest for the soul, a peace profound, On hallowed, healing ground.
I've felt the words, "I can't go on," As dawn breaks gray, another long day's dawn. The same old struggles, year on year, A constant battle, born of fear. They say my life looks good to see, But inside I'm crying, "Set me free!" This hidden burden, deep and vast, A shadow long, too strong to cast.
When all my strength has turned to dust, In humble heart, I learn to trust. His yoke is easy, His burden slight, He guides my steps from dark to light. No lonely path, no weary fight, Just gentle wisdom, clear and bright. He walks beside me, soft and true, And makes my fractured spirit new.
Quiet waters, green and deep, Where weary souls find gentle sleep. His heart is humble, kind, and meek, The rest I've searched for, now I seek. Oh, rest for the soul, forever free, He gives His peace to you and me.
