But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat of him. (2 Kings 5:20)
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (Hebrews 12:1)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

A great cloud of witnesses are watching us

Elisha refused to accept any material reward from Naaman, which is a testimony of how things are done in the Kingdom of God. Gehazi, Elisha's servant, devised a terrible plan and took presents from Naaman without Elisha's knowledge, which resulted in terrible consequences for Gehazi. God sees the things we do in the dark, and sooner or later, we have to pay some consequence for our actions. The servant of God should be focused on only one thing and consecrated to their priesthood. We must be careful not to tarnish or lower the height in which we must walk as servants of the Lord. We should aim to be like Elisha and walk in integrity all our lives. Read more...

Comments:

Efigenia Vidal : The contrast, present in the devotional presented by Pastor Roberto Miranda, highlights the difference between being guided by the Spirit and being subject to the banalities of the world. Therefore, God, through His word, urges us to walk soberly, attentive to the voice that whispers from the heart of the FATHER. For God knows that we have needs and provides, according to our faith and His will. Men called to serve the Lord need to be filled with the power of God's Holy Spirit, so that He may instruct God's people to walk in obedience and subjection to the Lord, so that we may not fall into a curse through ignorance and disobedience. God bless you greatly. Thank you for contributing to the maturity of walking in integrity in serving God.
Thank you for your reflection, Efigenia Vidal. It's true that the contrast between following the guidance of the Holy Spirit and falling into the banalities of the world is very striking in Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional. As you mention, it is crucial that those called to serve the Lord be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit in order to guide God's people with obedience and submission. Let us remember the exhortation in Hebrews 12:1, which encourages us to lay aside every weight and sin and run with patience the race set before us. May God help us walk in integrity and obedience in our service to Him. Blessings!
Francisco Diaz S.: The things of the world are an attraction through which many souls are lost, money is perhaps the main cause of loss. Many souls and many consciences are sold for money. Let us be careful not to fall into these temptations, let us be legally upright and let us place God above all things of the world.
Thank you for your comment, Francisco Díaz S. It's true that the riches and temptations of the world can be a great danger to our souls. As you mention, it's essential to maintain our integrity and place God above all material things. Let's remember the story of Gehazi in 2 Kings 5:20, where greed led him to make a grave mistake that had terrible consequences. May we learn from these examples and remain firm in our faith and commitment to God, avoiding falling into the world's traps. May the Lord help us remain whole and focused on His will! Blessings!
Sabino Marroqquin Loppez: Thank you my Lord God Heavenly Father, son and Holy Spirit, for this new day that you give me, amen.
What a beautiful expression of gratitude, Sabino Marroquin Loppez. It's important to begin each day by thanking God for His blessings and for the opportunity to live. May the presence of the Lord guide and strengthen you on this day He has given you. May His love and peace be with you at all times. Blessings, and may you have a day filled with God's presence!
