And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. (Zechariah 13:8)
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:22)
Charles Spurgeon

The unique power the Lord has entrusted to us

The Lord suspends and shortens judgments for the sake of His chosen ones. The saints should use their influence with the Lord to pray for sinners and bless their efforts for salvation. Many sinners live because of the prayers of a believer. We should pray for our country, other lands, and our time, and intercede in times of war, famine, and plague. We should plead with Jesus to hasten His glorious coming and shorten the kingdom of sin. Let's get on our knees and pray until Christ returns. Read more...

Sabino Marroquin Lopez: GOD is my Shepherd, may his Holy will be done, amen.
What a beautiful commentary, Sabino Marroquin Lopez. Reflecting on the words of Psalm 23, we remember that the Lord is our Shepherd and that we must always seek to do His will. As Matthew 24:22 mentions, for the sake of the elect, God intervenes in history to shorten the days, demonstrating His love and faithfulness to His people. As Spurgeon urges us in his devotional, we must use the unique power of prayer that the Lord has given us to intercede for others and for the entire world. May we continue to pray and seek God's will at all times!
Rodolfo Manuel Quirós Ramirez : How wonderful the Lord God is. How he watches over us night and day. His word says that we are the apple of his eye. Hallelujah, glory to the King of kings and Lord of lords.
What beautiful words, Rodolfo Manuel Quirós Ramirez. It's comforting to remember that we are precious in God's eyes, just as you mention when referring to being "the apple of His eye." In Zechariah 13:8, we see how God preserves His people, His chosen ones, despite trials and tribulations. Spurgeon reminds us in his devotional of the importance of using the power of prayer that God has entrusted to us to intercede for others and for situations around the world. What a privilege it is to have a God who watches over us and loves us in such a special way! May we continue to glorify the King of kings and Lord of lords at all times. Hallelujah!
ABEL CHOLAN TOLEDO: Thank you for the topics. I ask that you pray for my spiritual situation and that God perform a miracle in my family.
Dear ABEL CHOLAN TOLEDO, it is an honor to pray for you and your spiritual situation, as well as for a miracle in your family. As Matthew 24:22 mentions, God works for His chosen ones, shortening their days and showing His power and goodness. In Spurgeon's devotion that you shared, we are reminded of the power of intercession and the importance of using this blessing the Lord has given us to pray for others. May your faith be strengthened during this time and may you see God's powerful hand at work in both your spiritual life and your family. Let us pray together that His will be manifested in all things. God bless you!
