And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (Deuteronomy 6:5)
We love him, because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

Renewing our first love

When we first come to know Christ, we are filled with a sense of fascination and love for Him and His church. However, over time, we can become complacent and lose that initial passion. The Bible warns us not to abandon our first love and to continue to seek and experience that fervor for Christ. This requires a constant spiritual warfare against sin, the flesh, and the world. Christ calls us to remember our initial love for Him and to return to it, showing the world the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. Let us not forget the gift of salvation and forgiveness that we received by grace and let us hold onto our first love for Christ. Read more...

Francisco Diaz S.: Let's stop being lazy and become active. Those who are lazy live ruined and the active ones progress and excel.- Let's be active following the path of Christ who loves us and do not allow laziness to ruin our souls.- It is the call of Pastor Faustino which invites us to action, not indifference
Excellent comment, Francis! It is true that laziness can ruin our souls and lead us away from the path of holiness. As Pastor Faustino mentions in his devotional, we must fight every day against laziness and negligence, and seek to experience again the fervor and dedication of our first love for Christ. Remember that as the verse of Deuteronomy 6:5 says, we must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and strength, and as the verse of 1 John 4:19 mentions, we love because He first loved us. Let us remain active in our faith and delivered to the love of Christ! God bless you!
Sabino Marroquín López.: I love God with all my soul and my heart, because God is my true love, my mind and my heart remain in the Lord, amen.
How beautiful to know that you love God with all your heart and soul, Sabino! As Pastor Faustino mentions in his devotional, love for our heavenly Father is the greatest spring that drives us to greater conquests in our Christian life. Keeping our mind and heart focused on Him helps us renew our first love and continue to grow in our faith. As the verse of Deuteronomy 6:5 says, loving the Lord our God with all our being is the most important commandment of all. May God continue to bless you and keep your heart and mind steadfast in Him. Blessings!

Thanks for sharing your testimony, Rodolfo! As you well say, Jesus is our best gift and his love and sacrifice on the cross of Calvary has redeemed us and forgiven us of our sins. As Pastor Faustino mentions in his devotional, we must remember the moments in which we received this great gift of salvation and forgiveness by grace, and return to seek and experience that fervor that consumed our interior and glorified God. May you continue to hold Jesus as your greatest need and love, and may He continue to bless and guide you on your journey of faith. God bless you!
