Experience victory in war

SUMMARY: The book of Haggai in the Old Testament talks about the rebuilding of the temple after the Jewish people returned from captivity in Babylon. The people were hesitant to rebuild the temple, saying it was not the right time. However, God spoke through the prophet Haggai to remind them that there is never an ideal time to give to the Lord or build his house. The church of Jesus Christ needs to be rebuilding temples at this time as a sign that the devil has wanted to destroy the testimony of God's people, but he will not be able to do it. The church needs to resist the devil and be rebuilding and building its temples as a sign of faith and spiritual discipline.

The sermon is about the importance of not waiting for the "right time" to do God's work, but to trust in His provision and start working towards it. The speaker uses the story of the Hebrew people building the temple in Jerusalem and the opposition they faced as an example of how the devil will try to stop God's work. He encourages spiritual warfare and the use of the word of God as weapons against the devil's attacks. The speaker also expresses the desire for the community to be prosperous and blessed so that they can contribute to building God's temple without having to rely on outside financial authorities.

The people of God in the book of Ezra faced opposition from the king and other people who did not want them to build their temple. But they were encouraged by the prophets of God to continue building and not be intimidated. They sent a letter to the king reminding him of a previous order by Cyrus that allowed them to build, and with God's wisdom, they were able to find the legal document and continue building. When the people of God believe and are filled with the power of God, even secular authorities have to give them what they need to do God's work. We should not be afraid or intimidated when facing difficulties in doing the will of God.

The speaker emphasizes the importance of believing in God and being filled with the power of God to overcome obstacles. He cites the example of the king who gave an order for the rebuilding of the house of God and provided resources for the sacrifices and offerings. The speaker encourages the congregation to live as warriors and soldiers of the Kingdom of God, to invest in the things that are eternal, and to be a people who adhere to the authority of God and their spiritual authorities. He calls for a renewed mind and a commitment to become the leader that God wants each person to become. The congregation is blessed and encouraged to greet each other and go in peace.

How many are prepared to receive the word of the Lord, now? Haggai, the book of Haggai. It is a tiny book that is there, it is the third to last book of the Old Testament. Then comes Zacarias, and then Malachi, if I'm not mistaken. Haggai, the penultimate book of the Old Testament. Let's go to Chapter 1.

The Lord has been speaking to me about this book and the other two books that follow it and I want to share with you something this morning that has to do in part with the time that we are living in scarcity and economic difficulties.
