Love Drove Him - God's Sacrificial Grace
Ernst DiehlOn the evening of May 3, 1728, Count Zinzendorf shared a brief message with the Herrnhut community that would kick off the tradition of daily "Watchwords" or "Losungen." The message was inspired by the verse of the song "Love drove him, love tore him from the throne, and shouldn't I love him?" It is a reminder of the great sacrifice that Jesus made out of love for us, leaving His heavenly throne to come to earth and die for our sins.
Zinzendorf called the daily watchwords "continuous conversations of our Savior with the community." Dios Habla Hoy stands on the spiritual shoulders of Count von Zinzendorf and the Moravian community. Each morning we offer the reflection and two Bible verses as a starting point to encourage daily reflection and conversation with our Savior and with like-minded believers around the world.
