Psalms 107:3-8 • Ephesians 2:12-13
I remember the wilderness, a solitary way No city to dwell in, lost in night and day Hungry and thirsty, my spirit fainter grew Without a true belonging, what was I to do? An alien, a stranger, no hope within my sight Without God in this world, chained to endless night.
Oh, the wonder of being nigh! No longer far away! Pulled from the chaos by His grace, I stand in light today! By the precious blood of Christ, my ransom has been paid Gathered from the corners, no longer I'm afraid! Praise the Lord for His goodness, His works for all to see He reached His mighty hand for me, and brought me near to Thee!
From east and west, from north and south, His voice began to call To gather the dispersed, to unify us all He stretched His hand to rescue, when sin had held us bound Shattered every barrier, on holy, solid ground He led us forth by pathways true, to a city of His own A city of habitation, where His great love is known.
Now no longer strangers, but citizens complete Built into His temple, where His Spirit sweetly meets Members of His household, living stones in grace Intimate access granted, to see Him face to face A masterpiece, His workmanship, His wisdom shining through Let our lives become an anthem, forever praising You.
Brought me near, oh, brought me near, by His blood Never forget, dear soul, where His love has placed you. Forever nigh... forever near... Amen.
