My love for you consumes me

Elijah had just experienced two great spiritual victories but still fled in terror and abandoned his duty. God asked him twice, "What are you doing here?" Similarly, we can also find ourselves in the wrong place despite feeling close to God. We need to trust in His direction and be willing to be relocated for His glory. Our love for Him should consume us and guide us to obedience. When we feel weak or fearful, God will be by our side and speak to us in a soft whisper. It is important for the believer to depend entirely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, through whom we receive direction, exhortation, and revelation from God. I have had times when I need to be certain that what I do or where I go has God's approval, because I don't feel comfortable when things come from God. With God, there is security; without His guidance, there is insecurity and even discomfort.
