Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. (Psalm 85:10)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

The balance between justice and mercy

The Church in the 21st century needs to have a balance of mercy and holiness, grace and truth. This requires a bipolar mentality that emphasizes the call to holiness while also understanding that the Christian walk is a journey of gradual sanctification. Churches and leaders need to have a pastoral heart and be aware of the struggle of the believer's journey. There will always be a tension between these two positions, but we need to imitate God's balance of justice and mercy. Psalm 85:10 and John 1:14 show us that mercy and truth meet and grace and truth are united in the character of Jesus Christ. The Church needs to reflect this balance in our treatment of sinners, ourselves, and others. Read more...

Sr. Rolando Gómez : May God bless with all possible well-being, peace, and health each and every one of the Lion of Judah congregation, my favorite, and each and every one of its followers. Good message. This isn't criticism or finger-pointing, but "we must have a bipolar mentality" I don't fully understand or interpret. Perhaps we shouldn't have a bipolar (or sick) mentality; Christians don't. We should have the mind of Christ, no other. Humbly and always with the desire to improve or collaborate with your good Christian commentary and preaching, to which you have so accustomed us. May God continue to bless you, my brothers and sisters in the Faith.
