And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD. (2 Samuel 11:27)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7)

When we sin against God there is always some kind of cost

The story of King David's adultery with Bathsheba illustrates the importance of balancing holiness and grace. When we sin, our conscience, God, and Satan all see it, and there are consequences. God is a just Father and must discipline us when we offend Him, and Satan will accuse us before God. In order to maintain holiness, we must confess our sins and not give room to the devil. In the next meditation, we will explore how God balances grace and mercy in this situation. Read more...

Hugo Luna, I appreciate your words and I'm glad you find strength in the message shared. It's in difficult times that the Word of God can be a balm for our souls. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, it's important to remember that God sees all things and that when we sin, there's always some kind of cost. In the case of King David, we see how his actions had serious consequences in the eyes of the Lord. But it's also crucial to remember that God is a God of grace and mercy. As he mentions in Galatians 6:7, "Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows, that he will also reap." May God's grace and mercy be with you during this difficult time. Shalom Ubraja!

Francisco Diaz S.: Sin soils our soul and darkens our spirit, the burden of conscience is a feeling of guilt that accuses us, repentance and forgiveness lift us up but leave a scar that is difficult to erase. - Let us not abuse the mercy of the Lord
Francisco Díaz S., thank you for your profound reflection. As you mention, sin can soil the soul and darken our spirit, leaving a burden on our conscience that accuses us. However, it's important to remember that repentance and God's forgiveness lift us up and restore us, although, as Dr. Roberto Miranda mentioned, it often leaves a scar that is difficult to erase. It's a valuable reminder not to abuse the Lord's mercy, but rather to honor His grace with a life that seeks holiness and a balance between justice and divine mercy. May God's light and guidance be with you at all times. Blessings! 🙏🌿
Wilson : The fear of God allows us to strengthen our relationship, whereas fear distances us from it. Some events in our life make us strong, firm, and stable. To Him be the glory. Amen.
Wilson, thank you for sharing your perspective. It's true that the fear of God, understood as holy respect and reverence, can strengthen our relationship with Him, while fear, which paralyzes us, can distance us from that communion. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions, when we sin against God, there are consequences, but it's also worth remembering that God is a God of grace and mercy. It is in those moments of recognizing our fragility and dependence on God that we can experience His transforming power. May glory always be to God, who strengthens us, sustains us, and guides us in the midst of our trials. Amen! 🙏🌟
Iris Rojas: Sin always brings consequences, we must be prepared and alert so as not to fall.
Iris Rojas, thank you for your insightful comment. It's true that sin always brings consequences, as Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his reflection on the life of King David. Being alert and vigilant is essential to avoid falling into the traps of sin and to keep our communion with God intact. Let us remember that God gives us the necessary tools to resist temptation and remain steadfast on his path. May God's wisdom and grace guide you every step of the way. Blessings! 🙏🌿
Sabino amarroquin Lopez: I thank my God for the benefits I receive from the Lord every day, amen.
Sabino Amaroquín López, how beautiful it is to read your gratitude to God for His daily blessings. It's important to remember and value the blessings we receive from our Lord each day. May this attitude of gratitude and appreciation for His love and provision continue to fill your heart with joy and hope. May you continue to experience God's faithfulness and care at all times. Blessings, and may God's peace be with you always! 🙏🌟
Luis Alfredo Ramírez Cano: The Holy Spirit, who dwells in our hearts, within us, acts as an internal witness who makes us uncomfortable when our actions sadden our loving Father, when our actions go against the precepts the Lord has given us. Although grace grants us forgiveness and frees us from sin, sin still has consequences for our lives and our Christian witness. Grace is not a license to sin; it is a gift we receive that transforms us to live a life conformed to God's heart.
Luis Alfredo Ramírez Cano, thank you for sharing your profound reflection on the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It is true that the Holy Spirit, as an internal witness, guides us and disturbs us when we stray from God's ways. Although God's grace grants us forgiveness and freedom from sin, as Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions, our actions still have consequences in our lives and in our witness as Christians. Grace is not an excuse to sin, but a transforming gift that empowers us to live according to God's heart. May the guidance and presence of the Holy Spirit continue to strengthen your walk of faith. May God bless you abundantly! 🙏🌿
MARIA DE LOURDES JARRIN: The accuser, that is, the prosecutor, who is the devil, does not allow any sin to pass that has not been repented of, that has not been asked for forgiveness, to take it as his "right" so that the sinner may receive a painful sentence. However, when, aware of the sin, of the pain it causes both to the Father and to whom the sin was directed, one comes before the Lord with all one's soul and spirit, crying out for mercy, calling upon the blood of Christ who died to grant forgiveness to those who repent and return to Him, then and only then does the Father issue his verdict of innocence. The heavenly court is the only place where the mercy of the Eternal, the grace of the Most High, the love of the Heavenly Father are manifested. Myriads of witnesses approach the court to plead for the accused by the devil, and they bear witness to the good works they observe from the heavenly atmosphere. God is a just God, but His mercy is greater than justice.
MARIA DE LOURDES JARRIN, what a beautiful reflection on God's forgiveness and mercy! It is true that the enemy, Satan, seeks to accuse us and lead us to condemnation for our sins, but when we approach God with sincere repentance, crying out for His mercy and trusting in the forgiveness that Christ offers us, the heavenly Father declares us innocent. In His heavenly court, God's grace and love prevail over justice, demonstrating His immense mercy toward those who return to Him. How beautiful it is to know that we have a heavenly Father who is willing to forgive us and restore us when we repent from the heart. May the peace and love of the Lord accompany you in your daily walk. God bless you richly! 🙏🌷
