I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. (Psalm 54:6)
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6:6)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

Our old nature is crucified together with Christ

The apostle Paul teaches in Romans 12:1-2 that we should present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This means that we must die to our old nature, our earthly and carnal part, and live a new life of holiness. This idea is associated with the symbolism of baptism, where the believer dies to the world and rises to a new life of holiness. The Christian life is a gradual death of all the bad and destructive things in us, and we must present ourselves as a living sacrifice to Christ every day. By doing so, we can live the purpose that God has for our lives. Read more...

Comments:

Efigenia Vidal : Amen, through the Word of God manifested in each devotional, under the direction of Pastor Roberto Miranda. It presents us with a reflection on how the believer gradually casts off the old sinful nature, no longer a slave to sin, according to John 8:34. It is constant communion with God and meditation in daily reading, as well as the wisdom to fear the Almighty God, from whom nothing is hidden. The change to which a Christian is subject is a process. Gradually casting off the old self is achieved with the help of the Holy Spirit; it is a constant process. Without His help, we cannot achieve it. May the Holy Spirit reprove me according to God's purposes, established for me. God bless you greatly.
What a beautiful comment, Efigenia Vidal! It is true that the transformation of the old sinful nature is a continuous process in the life of a believer. As you rightly mention, in the devotional we are reminded of the importance of stripping ourselves of that old nature so as not to continue being slaves to sin. Communion with God, daily reading of His Word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit are fundamental in this process of change. As Psalm 54:6 says, let us present our lives to God as a living sacrifice. In Romans 6:6 we are urged to remember that our old self was crucified with Christ so we would not be slaves to sin. What a blessing it is to have Dr. Roberto Miranda's guidance as we reflect deeply on these topics! May God continue to guide you in your spiritual journey! Blessings!
Luis Alfredo Ramirez Cano: For we are no longer of the world, but a chosen and holy race, and with our actions and way of life we must give honor to our Father, who through his mercy brought us from the darkness of sin into the light of eternal life with him. Our transformation begins when we confess with our mouths that he is our Father. Our old nature and way of life, following the content of the Word and receiving revelation from on high, allow us to walk the path the Lord desires for us.
What beautiful reflections, Luis Alfredo Ramirez Cano! It is true that by surrendering ourselves to God and recognizing Him as our Father, we begin a process of transformation in which we leave behind our old nature and become a chosen and holy race, as you mention. It is through our actions and our way of life that we can honor our heavenly Father, who in His mercy has freed us from the darkness of sin to walk in the light of eternal life with Him. As Romans 6:6 expresses, our old nature has been crucified with Christ so that we are no longer slaves to sin. The Word of God and the revelation we receive from on High guide us on the path the Lord has for us. May you continue growing in your faith and in your walk with God, being a light in this world! May God bless you abundantly!
Francisco Diaz S.: Pastor Dr. Roberto Miranda's message urges us to die a little more to sin each day and to be reborn in the paths of righteousness through the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, let us begin by sacrificing our pride, our arrogance, our sublimation of ego, and clothe ourselves in the garments of humility, the same humility with which Christ lived in this world. Jesus Christ is my shepherd.
What powerful words, Francisco Díaz S.! I completely agree with you that Pastor Dr. Roberto Miranda's message invites us daily to die a little more to sin in order to be reborn in righteousness through the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a call to sacrifice our pride, arrogance, and ego, and to clothe ourselves with the humility that characterized Christ's life on earth. As you mention, it is essential to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ, who is our Shepherd and model of humility and righteousness. In Romans 6:6, we are reminded that our old self was crucified with Christ so that we would no longer serve sin, and in Psalm 54:6, we are encouraged to offer willing sacrifices to God. May your pursuit of humility and righteousness in Christ be fruitful and bring you ever closer to His image. May God bless you on your spiritual journey!
