But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. (Daniel 12:13)
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (Hebrews 4:9)

Great peace is our portion in Christ Jesus

God has provided a rest for believers, but those who initially heard about it did not enter because of unbelief. This rest is still available for believers today, and we should strive to enter it by giving up the hard work of sin and finding solace in the finished work of Jesus. We should also put our burdens on the Lord and rest in Him. Jesus Himself is the perfect rest, and in Him we are filled to the brim. Read more...

Comments:

Oscar Rodríguez : Amen, may your souls rest in our Lord.
What a beautiful comment, Oscar Rodriguez! It is true that in our Lord we find rest and peace. As Charles Spurgeon's devotional mentions, in Christ Jesus there is a "great peace" that is our portion. Let us remember the words of Daniel 12:13, "But you, continue to the end. You will rest and rise to receive your inheritance at the end of the days." Let us continue striving to enter that rest God has promised us, casting our burdens on Him and finding rest in His finished work. May our souls find rest in our beloved Lord!
Francisco Diaz S.: May the peace that the Lord Jesus left us fill your homes and bring peace to your souls today, a day of rest and praise to God our Lord.
What a beautiful reflection, Francisco Díaz S.! It's wonderful to remember that the peace our Lord Jesus left us is the one that can fill our homes and our souls. As Charles Spurgeon's devotional mentions, in Christ Jesus we find a "great peace" that is our portion. In Hebrews 4:9 we read that "There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God." On this day of rest and praise, may we rest in the peace that only Christ can provide, casting our burdens on Him and finding tranquility in His presence. May the calm and peace of the Lord Jesus fill your homes and souls today and always!
Sabino Marroquin Lopez: I thank my God, because I wake up in good health, thank you my Lord, amen.
What a beautiful expression of gratitude, Sabino Marroquín López! It's wonderful to begin the day thanking God for our health and for His goodness. As Charles Spurgeon's devotional mentions, it's important to cast all our burdens on the Lord and rest in His provision. Let us remember that in Him we find peace and rest. In Hebrews 4:9 we are reminded that "There remains, therefore, a Sabbath rest for the people of God." May the health you have received be a cause of thanksgiving and praise to God, and may His peace and love accompany you this day and always. May the Lord bless you abundantly!
Ruth Vives : Only God gives us infinite peace. Christians should always affirm, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." God bless you! Amen.
What a beautiful truth you have expressed, Ruth Vives. Indeed, it is in God that we find infinite peace and strength for all things. As you mention, the Christian affirmation "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" is a powerful reminder of our dependence on Him. Charles Spurgeon's devotional reminds us that in Christ Jesus we find a "great peace" that is our portion. In Him we can rest and find the strength we need. May these words be an inspiration to hold fast to the promise that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. May God's infinite peace and blessing be with you always! God bless you! Amen!
