God speaks today Sunday | May 4, 2025

I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jeremiah 17:10)
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. (Titus 3:8)

The challenge of growing through good works

Acting in Christ's way is not just doing things for Him, it is about having faith and allowing Him to work through us. Focusing on what we can do for God can lead to pride and self-exaltation. Our new life in Christ is founded on faith and nourished by it, so good works become natural. Good works are not about seeking recognition or approval, but about glorifying God and fulfilling His will. As we grow in faith, the good deeds we perform raise our spiritual stature. We must add to our faith the fruits of good works, which complement each other in favor of others. We are created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God ordained in advance for us to put into practice. Read more...

Comments:

Francisco Diaz S.: Selfishness and egotism are the exact words that identify those pastors who work for themselves, to elevate their ego and feel superior to their parishioners. - Those who do not work for the community but live off the community, those who do not shepherd because they are above their sheep and only seek recognition from their followers. - God knows the hearts of men.
Francisco Diaz S., your comment reflects a profound truth. As Jeremiah 17:10 mentions, God searches our hearts and knows our intentions. It's important to remember that our works should be focused on glorifying God and blessing others, not on seeking recognition or satisfying our ego. Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas also reminds us that God's purpose for us is not to seek our own exaltation, but rather to know Him more each day and reflect His love through our actions. May we focus on good works that honor God and benefit those around us!
Sabino Marroquin Lopez: In GOD I trust amen.
Sabino Marroquin Lopez, your declaration of trust in God is powerful. As Titus 3:8 mentions, it is important that, as believers, we occupy ourselves with good works. By trusting in God and following His guidance, we can perform actions that reflect His love and grace in our lives and in the lives of others. May your faith in God compel you to live a life of good works that glorify His name. May God continue to bless you in your journey of faith!
Rodolfo Manuel Quirós Ramirez : God bless you for such a beautiful word. It's true: without faith, we can't solve anything. Faith is the certainty of what is unseen. Human beings, by nature, must have faith in God. And therein lies the certainty that the Lord has transformed us into a new person in Christ.
Rodolfo Manuel Quirós Ramirez, your words are inspiring. As Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas mentions, faith is fundamental to our Christian journey. It is through faith that we can experience the transformation God brings about in our lives. By trusting in Him and allowing Him to work in us, we become new creatures in Christ, capable of carrying out good works that reflect His love and grace. May the certainty of your faith guide you in every step you take, demonstrating God's transforming work in you. May you continue to be a light to others through your testimony of faith!
Oscar Rodríguez : Amen 🙏.
