Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. (2 Samuel 12:10)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (Galatians 6:7)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

Breaking ties takes time and patience

The Church needs to find a balance between the call to holiness and the merciful heart of God. While the writer is opposed to any practice that goes against the Word of God, such as homosexuality, adultery, or any type of lust, they also recognize that people fall into spiritual traps due to the highly experimental world we live in. This can include falling into the addiction of pornography, adulterous relationships or sexual relationships outside of marriage. Churches need to be places where people can feel safe to express their struggles without fear of condemnation, and where there are Pastors with experience and knowledge of the dynamics of sanctification and transformation of mind. Churches of grace, love, and mercy combined with a commitment to holiness will be most effective in drawing people to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Read more...

Amen, Henry! It is wonderful to trust that God will help us break any ties we have. As Galatians 6:7 says, "Do not be deceived, no one mocks God; for whatever man sows, that too he will reap." God is faithful and his Holy Spirit will help us to persevere in our fight for sanctification. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, breaking these ties can take time, but with patience and God's help, we can achieve the freedom that He offers us. God bless you!

Francisco Diaz S.: Wise recommendations from Pastor Dr. R. Miranda.- Society has been perverted to the point that taking the life of a child in its mother's womb (abortion) is legal.- Those who repent will be saved, those who persist in evil will die in the abyss of perversion.- Let us ask the Lord for mercy for those individuals.
That's right, Francis! As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, it is important to keep in mind that God calls us to live a holy life that reflects the purity of our God in all aspects, including sexuality and respect for human life. But as you also mention in your text, there are people who fall into spiritual traps and may have a hard time breaking their ties. As you well say, it is important to ask the Lord for mercy for those who are in this situation and to continue praying for them so that they can find freedom in Christ. God bless you!

But as you well say, as children of God, we must be different and not be captivated by sin. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, we need churches that are balanced and that help us deal with the complexities of life in the 21st century, combining the call to holiness with the fatherly and merciful heart of God.
