Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:57)

God blesses the one who acknowledges His victory

We are not victors because we are in Christ, but because our union with him is the only guarantee of our victories. As Christians, we participate in the victories of Christ and understand that when we appropriate faith to walk alongside him, we are enabled to live a victorious life over sin, temptations, and against the fiery darts of the enemy of the cross.
