Our old nature is crucified together with Christ

The apostle Paul teaches in Romans 12:1-2 that we should present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This means that we must die to our old nature, our earthly and carnal part, and live a new life of holiness. This idea is associated with the symbolism of baptism, where the believer dies to the world and rises to a new life of holiness. The Christian life is a gradual death of all the bad and destructive things in us, and we must present ourselves as a living sacrifice to Christ every day.
