Edward McKendree Bounds (E. M. Bounds) was a pastor in the United States during the time of the American Civil War. He was born on August 15, 1835 and died on August 24, 1913. His life and ministry are distinguished by his insistence on prayer as the key to a powerful and effective spiritual life. for E.M. Bounds, prayer is one of the most important ministries of the Church, as well as of every believer. He was the author of eleven books, nine of which deal with the subject of prayer.
