The Garden of Gethsemane is the place where Jesus totally abandoned Himself to the will of God, the Father. Here among the olive trees, facing an excruciating death, Jesus sweat drops of blood and expressed sorrowful cries from the depths of his heart of humanity. He pleaded that if salvation could be accomplished any other way, that the Father would not allow him to drink this “bitter cup” of suffering.
Ultimately, Jesus chose to be obedient to His Father’s will and for “the joy set before Him He endured the cross.” The joy was to see you and I transformed into His beloved people, redeemed from the curse of sin, and raised to new life in Him.
We owe all that we are and all that we have to the obedience of Jesus. Christ’s death and resurrection is the “Hinge Point,” the greatest event in history, when God, the Son, incarnated in human flesh, gave up His life as the eternal sacrifice for sin and was raised in glory to reign forevermore.
May His resurrection life overflow in your heart and may His life-giving power renew your mind! Enter into His miraculous atonement of forgiveness from sin, release from shame, healing of disease and for a broken heart, and peace for a troubled mind. Claim your godly heritage in His Kingdom that will endure forever and never be shaken.
