Summary: In Luke 1:46-49, Mary sings a song of victory and war, known as the Magnificat. She exalts God for looking upon her baseness and promises that all generations will call her blessed because of what God has done for her. The advent of Christmas is proof that God sees us and takes us into account, especially in difficult circumstances. God seeks and reveals himself to those who dare to believe his word and promise despite their circumstances. Christmas is also about canceling curses and beginning a chain of blessings for generations to come. Mary was chosen for a unique and sensitive mission of bringing the Messiah into the world.

In Luke 1:49-55, Mary praises God for what He has done for her and for generations to come. While Mary's mission of bringing the Messiah into the world was unique, in other ways, God does the same for all of us who are willing. The Holy Spirit can come upon us and bring life to barren areas of our lives. Through us, God will do feats and cancel the curse in the world around us. We are in a spiritual warfare against principalities and powers, and God has not forgotten His promises to us. If we surrender to His will, the Holy Spirit will come upon us and activate us in ways that will surprise us. This is the true meaning of Christmas.

Luke, chapter 1, verse 46. “Then Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior, because he has looked at the baseness of his servant, for behold, from now on all nations will call me blessed. , all generations because the mighty one has done great things for me, holy is his name and his mercy is from generation to generation to those who fear him. He did prowess with his arm, he scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts and all thrones to the mighty and exalted the lowly, he filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty, he helped Israel his servant, remembering the mercy of which he spoke to our fathers toward Abraham and his descendants forever.” Amen.

Let's start with verse 46 and 47. “Then Mary said, “My soul magnifies, say my soul magnifies, My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior. This passage, my brothers, is known as the magnificat, which is the Latin word for that first word that you see in this song of Mary. It is also known as the song of Mary. Mary's song. Magnificat is merely the Latin for magnify my soul. And this song of Mary is compared to the song of Ana, when she received word that she was going to conceive Samuel. And it is also compared to the song of Miriam, when the sister of Moses passed by, when the people of Israel passed through the dry Red Sea.

What's more, today we sing part of that song of Miriam. The one who was persecuting us was thrown into the sea... and the word says that my sister sang it with tambourine in hand and with a little Pentecostal jump. Miriam singing, threw into the sea who was chasing us, horse rider threw into the sea. He threw into the sea, the chariots of Pharaoh. hey hey I could not resist.

It compares to that. It is a song, this song of Mary, this magnificat is a song of victory. It is a song of war and if God has visited you, if he has rescued you, if the hand of God has been upon you, you have already raised your own song of victory and deliverance to the Lord. You are going to recognize many phrases here, but I have told the Lord that, but that is precisely what has passed through my life and through my lips. It is no coincidence because the idea is to replicate Miriam's song that is spread by every lip that exalts the name of Jesus.

If you have not experienced that advent, that coming of God's power over your life, that redemption of a saving God for your life, if you have not experienced it, may God want you to know your own victory song when you leave here today. Please God that there is not a soul today that the Lord does not deliver his own song in the name of Jesus.

Verse 48, because he has looked at the baseness of his servant, let's stay there for a while. What does Maria mean here? that from his throne the Lord looks and sees and realizes our baseness. From his throne he looks, he sees, he realizes our baseness, not only as the human race in general, but as you and I as individual beings. He is capable of seeing a congregation and seeing you sitting either on the bench or on the balcony, hearing your voice in the crowd.

By the way, God does not create baseness, God exalted and sublime, is not in the business of creating baseness. The psalmist sang, what is man that you have memory of him? And the son of man to visit them? You have made him little less than the angels and crowned him with glory and honor. Where does this baseness come from then? Satan has usurped the earth, indeed, our ancestors in the Garden of Eden handed over the keys, opened the door, and since then, since that moment, Satan has usurped the earth. It did not belong to him and now entire institutions, governments, public schools, universities, financial institutions, are invaded by his hosts and are under his influence. He dares to rightly call the prince of this world.

Tell me, how can there be peace? When Satan has a strategic demon over Boston, another demon that reports to him strategic over the Boston school district headquarters, and another demon assigned only to Curly, only to English High School, only to Muñiz, and under all that influence we are, you and me, our children, how can there be peace?

I know that many of us have felt the influence of that captivity. It does not require great spirituality for you to realize that things are not going as they should. There is a concern in the human soul that no matter how unconverted and secular we are, something tells us, something is out of frequency, something is out of tune, this is not normal, this injustice is not normal, this brokenness is not normal. What is happening to me is not normal, although it has happened to me, although it happened to my father, although it happened to my grandfather, although it has been like this for generations, something tells us, and that something is the spirit of God inside of you, he tells you, wake up, this is not normal.

You are living in captivity and you don't even realize it. But God sees our captivity. He sees our invisibility. He hears our cry. Says the word, that he hears the cry of the prisoners and be it from a shelter or at the foot of the bed of his son or brother or loved one in intensive care in the hospital, as we have prayed for the child Jesus on the first day of advent. Or from a cell in a cold prison, or driving a truck or an uber or a wow or from his office factory, swallowing your lips tears convinced that nobody hears you, nobody sees you, God promises you through the advent, through of Christmas. The point is this, I hear you, from his throne he says, I hear you and I am coming for you and I am coming for you, I am coming to your rescue.

The promise of the advent is that God comes, the Messiah comes, his anointed comes to our rescue. And throughout the Old Testament there are literally thousands of scriptures pointing to this same promise over and over again, reminding the people of Israel, their redeemer is coming, do not despair. He is coming. He hasn't forgotten about you. Among the thousands of scriptures that you can read, you know Isaiah 9, but there will not always be - it seems that this will be forever, his life will always be the same, he promises - there will not be always for what is now in anguish darkness. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death light shined on them. Because you broke his heavy yoke and the rod from his shoulder and the scepter of his oppressor as in the day of Midian, referring to Gideon.

Brothers, if you entered here with a yoke, if you entered here with the oppressor's rod on your back, it is not normal and it is not the life that God wants for you, be it an addiction, be it a failure in your character, be it a marriage that is about to die, be it a child that is about to lose, that yoke the Lord has the power to break. And the Lord promises you that this is his priority because all the shoes that the warrior wears in the tumult of battle and all the cloaks covered in blood will be burned. Grass for the fire, because a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The principality, the government, the kingdom, the ultimate authority on his shoulder and his name will be called admirable counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Hopelessness, the lack of hope is one of Satan's main weapons. You have heard their whispers, God does not hear you, God does not hear you, God has forgotten you, you are worthless to God, deny your God and die. Satan fights to take you to that point of despair but Christmas is proof that God sees us, that God takes us into account.

As the time of his coming approaches, his advent he sends his angels with that message and not just any angel, Gabriel. Do you know what Gabriel means? The strong of Jehovah, the warrior of Jehovah. An angel armed to the teeth, don't mess with me, angel, was what the Lord sent him on that assignment. Because God seeks and reveals himself to those, to that handful of heroes like Abraham and Moses, Gideon, Daniel, Esther, Mary. And I'm afraid to name them, but I'm doing it because I know them, who dare to believe God's word and God's promise despite the circumstances around you. And while Satan tells you, he forgot about you, no one saves you from this, deny your God and die, the Lord says, I come for you, I have not forgotten about you, I look at your baseness, I come to your rescue.

Continuing in verse 48, well behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed and when Jesus comes, this is what he does, what does God do when he arrives? When Jesus comes, when the advent arrives, this is what he begins to do, firstly with you, everything changes. And not only for you but for the generations that will follow you.

On Friday night I will mention this more later, but we had a beautiful vigil led by our brothers from Alfa and one of the most beautiful parts of that vigil was the testimonies of the brothers who testified of how they got here under difficult circumstances, and how now the children of those brothers and sisters are studying and how God replicates and extends his grace.

My brothers, it is not only for you that God comes, he does not find out merely by intervening in your situation or your problem, he sees you as the mother and father of a generation, regardless of their age or their situation. Like my grandfather Ventura coming to the Lord, the Acevedos of Santurce, if the Mayor of Santurce knew the Acevedos it was not for nothing good, I heard grandfather say, he loved gambling, he loved gambling, my father used to say that grandfather took dad out of school at the age of 8 to sell lottery tickets on street corners. My dad was the fanguito dealer in Santurce, in the lottery, and there came a time when my grandfather found himself so indebted, he would say in good Puerto Rican, up to his nose in confusion, that he decided to commit suicide.

That's how daddy told it and the day he decided to do it he turned on the radio looking for a radio program called 'El ayer que canta' or something like that. And he ran into an evangelist, a radio program, that's why we have to pray for the pastor, many brothers are here because of the church's radio program, yes or no? grandfather heard that radio program, knelt down and received Jesus at that moment, in the year '48. From there he led daddy by the ear to church, mommy followed him. The story is this, grandfather's children, grandfather's grandchildren, grandfather's great-grandchildren, I never in my life got to hear grandfather preach or testify, but his children were pastors, his grandchildren, he has a granddaughter who is a missionary in Paraguay for the last 35 years, the daughter of that granddaughter, her great-granddaughter, is the one who directs the missionary ministries of the Assembly of God in Springfield in Europe and Asia, including Kyrgyzstan.

Rachel Di Trolio that many of you know has a grandson who is a pastor and lawyer and is in Boston this morning preaching the Gospel. I bless my grandfather Ventura. My brothers, I don't know how difficult you are going through right now, but the Lord's promises are that generations will call me blessed, generations will say, because of him, because of her, I came to Jesus, because of him, because of her, I am blessed, and now I'm seeing it but look, what the Lord wants to do and what he's going to do today if you let him, is cancel the curse.

If there has been a curse in your chain, I declare it in the name of Jesus, no one has studied, no one has been faithful to his wife, everyone has been foul-mouthed and drunk, he can say, up to here, he can say, even me and with you as with Abraham begins a chain of blessing. That branch escapes from the tree, a vineyard begins, fruit begins to sprout and from that sap fruit will be watered in all his chains, those who follow him and his ancestors, his parents, his grandparents, because God is the same, yesterday, today and for all the centuries. They will be blessed by you. Generations will call me blessed.

Verse 49, because the mighty one has done great things for me, holy is his name and his mercy is from generation to generation to those who fear him. What did God do for generations to call Mary blessed? In some ways what God did with and through Mary was unique. That has to be established. She was chosen for the sensitive mission of bringing into the world the baby that would be the Messiah incarnate.

The Lord did not choose just anyone. Reading this passage I realized who Maria was. And it reminds me of many of you, she may have been a teenager, but she was one tuff lady. Faithful. The Lord was not only asking her to hold this child and watch it be born, the Lord was asking her to watch it die. Do you want that assignment? What he did with her was unique. Only her.

But in other ways, what God did for her, he does for all of us, in other ways, that is, he does it for those who are willing, those who are willing to do it. Look, let's go to verse 34 of that same chapter:

"Then Mary said to the angel, to Gabriel, how will this be since I don't know a man?" In other words, there is no way for me to live, there is no way for anything new, there is no way for anything good to come from me. You have said such a thing? There is no way for anything good, there is no way for life to come out of me, come out of me, how will this be?

“Answering the angel said to him, – and this, if you are willing, the Holy Spirit can do for you – 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, therefore also the holy being that will be born He will be called the Son of God and behold, your relative, Elizabeth, has also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month for her that they called her barren because nothing is impossible for God.'

Today you have entered the zone of the impossible. You have crossed the magical veil of an invisible place, when you pass through the threshold of this sanctuary and arrive at this place, you have crossed the veil of the temple. Now the impossible becomes very real. God has done the same with many here. God will do the same for you if you allow it. To those who fear him, it says there, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will cover you with his shadow. Life stands out from the barren areas of our lives, hearts that long ago stopped feeling and dreaming begin to beat. Eyes that have long been incapable of sight begin to see. Fallen hands rise up, begin to worship the Lord, receive grace, receive anointing and reach out and create.

And from you will come a holy being that is God's creation through you. Life, blessing that God brings to the world through you, an assignment with your name. Life that the Lord has set apart that if it is not through you it will not reach this world, but he has set it aside for you because nothing is impossible for God.

Verse 51, “through you God will do prowess, do you think so? He has shown strength with his arm, he has scattered the proud in the thought of their hearts, he has put down the mighty from their thrones, he has exalted the lowly, he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.”

What is going on here, Pastor Samuel? The last thing Satan wants is for a race of beings begotten by the Holy Spirit to be born. That was God's plan. Satan hates Christmas, by the way. Satan's nightmare is the memory of that blessed manger and what came out of it. I am sure that he dismissed the demon in charge of Bethlehem. The Lord knew the demon in charge of Bethlehem and during the siesta of the demon that covers Bethlehem, Jesus was born there, the sailors and the paratroopers arrived, Satan it's over. The invasion began.

The least he wants is that: beings engendered by the Holy Spirit. The body of Christ is a threat to his kingdom, because with his arm the Holy Spirit will do feats through you, canceling the curse in the world around you, and not only within you, retaking regions for the Kingdom of God entire claimed by Satan. Speaking of spiritual warfare, look again at verse 52, “he has put down the mighty from their thrones, he has exalted the lowly.” It makes earthly sense, governments, legislators, justice, the president, the governor, the mayor, but also here the powerful refers to spiritual princes.

Paul warns us that our fight is not against blood or flesh, as it says in Ephesians 6, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this century, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly realms, and they, those powerful, these principalities, they instead have influence over the arrogant in the thoughts of their hearts, sitting in places of influence: public schools, inseminating satanic doctrine in the minds of our children, legislators activating policies and laws, institutionalizing injustice, be it on immigration, an economy that ensures a few feast at the expense of hungry multitudes. Here, both the Republicans and the Democrats are under the same influence, I promise you.

This is not about politics, this is about spiritual warfare. And by the way, the one who will sit on the throne of David ruling forever will not allow Satan to get away with him, in his kingdom. That is why the social ministries at least, those of this church, differ a little from the usual social justice. And of this I do know. HERC, for example, is a kind of underground army. You see these young people, they are the rangers, they are marines. HERC sends a clandestine army of young, coached, intelligent, gifted counselors with engaging personalities but filled with the Holy Spirit, invading Boston Public School classrooms.

Now HERC has a team of 7 coaches, we pray, and ordain them for this work and they are sent to 6 public schools in the city of Boston using the weapons of prayer and anointing to cancel the curse of Satan in the lives of hundreds, 1200 youths.

On Friday night Alpha began its new campaign with a vigil. Who does that? with a vigil marked with praise, adoration, testimonies of the transforming power of God and his faithfulness and extensive moments of cry. Church, this is about spiritual warfare. The souls of our militia are not of this world, but they are powerful.

Verse 54, “Israel his servant helped, remembering the mercy of which he spoke to our fathers, toward Abraham and his descendants forever.”

My brothers, know that God has not forgotten his mercy. God remembers each of the promises he made to Abraham and his offspring and that's where we sneak in. Every one of those promises, amen.

I said just now that God had chosen Mary for a difficult and unique assignment. Perhaps you are here and the most you are regretting is the assignment that God has given to your life, and perhaps it is not the assignment that you have asked God for or expected. Sir, why this disease? Sir, why this situation? Lord, why if I serve you and I am faithful to you this brokenness? And I declare to you in the name of Jesus that if you say like Mary, behold your servant, behold your servant, do with me what you wish, the Holy Spirit will come upon you.

Today whoever wishes it, he will cover you with his shadow. Wombs, barren lives, will sprout in life. My brothers, there is not a being here that God is not willing to activate in a life that will surprise you. That is Christmas. Let's lower our faces.

Thank you Jesus for promising to come or blow on us, for removing our shame and filling our emptiness with life.
