Summary: The pastor discusses the importance of spontaneous worship and prophetic singing in church. He recalls a story from the Bible where Elisha asks for a musician to begin playing in order to unleash a prophetic word from God. The pastor also talks about the sacrifices made in order to follow the Holy Spirit and how God rewards obedience and faithfulness. He emphasizes the importance of seeking the anointing of the Holy Spirit in worship and in life. The pastor also shares personal experiences of letting the Holy Spirit lead in preaching and worship.
The speaker talks about the importance of connecting with the infinite wisdom of God and resting in the Lord. He shares his personal experience of letting go of his notes and trusting in God's grace when preaching. He also discusses the tension between order and protocol, and the explosive movement of the Holy Spirit in the church. He uses the models of the tabernacle and temple to explain how the church can operate in the spirit world. He emphasizes the importance of discernment and spiritual government in the movement of the spirit. Finally, he shares his personal experience of receiving a dream from God that led him to establish the Lion of Judah Congregation in Boston.
The pastor explains the change in the name of the church from Central Baptist Church to Lion of Judah Congregation, which represents the tribe that leads worship and adoration, and signifies the unity with the people of Israel. He talks about the spiritual warfare in the area and how the devil tries to spoil the life of God that wants to manifest. He shares a dream he had 25 years ago about praying for the resurrection of three graves, which ended up with three inert dolls that came to life after he prayed in tongues. He believes that there are much greater things that God wants to do through the church and that they need to prepare themselves for it.
The speaker encourages the audience to use what they have on hand and flow in the Holy Spirit. They ask for humility and neutrality to allow the power of God to be manifested in their lives. They pray for their church to be filled with God's oil and for a clear mindset to not go back to the old ways. They ask for God's anointing and grace on their town and for His purposes to be activated.
I think I spoke a little bit last Sunday about how the Lord through the years has led me to a type of spontaneous worship that I practice in my own life and that many times I have also wanted to introduce to the church that can be considered as prophetic worship or worship of the moment not practiced, not preconceived.
And this morning as we were about to start the service the Lord moved me, I think it was the Lord, to start a song in English, come into the presence of the Lord and raise your voice and worship Him, etc. It wasn't on the show and I'm always very afraid of putting people in agony in terms of it not being on the show, what are the musicians doing, the technology, whether or not the choir is going to appear, and all this kind of stuff. of things, and frankly out of respect, not out of fear, because as a pastor one says, well, I have the right to do those things. But out of respect I don't like to put people in discomfort. But I have said that if there is no discomfort it is not a prophecy, it is not a move of God. God moves in discomfort, God moves in uncertainty.
Many times when a person, I am going to speak like this openly as the Lord directs me, when a person begins to prophesy those who have practiced the prophetic move of God, when a person has a prophetic gift and begins to prophesy, many times the only thing that has is like an embryo inside him or her. It is simply an energy, a thought, an impulse, but that thought has not yet acquired intellectual life and the person is often not sure what he is receiving from the Lord. But when you open your mouth and it starts to flow, the words start to come and the Lord then provides what you have to say. That is the prophetic move.
There is a passage in the scripture when Elisha finds some kings who are dying of thirst with their armies, they are at war and there are these 3 kings are people ignorant of the word of the Lord, there is a king who is pious, among them is Ahab and one of kings is pious and loves the Lord and is in bad company with this man, and they have gone to a war that the Lord has told them not to go, but they go anyway and find themselves in the middle of the desert dying of thirst . The pious king, I don't remember his name, asks if there is a prophet in the camp and for some reason of those things of God, there is Elisha. We don't know what Elisha was doing there, but Elisha was within reach and then the kings sent for Elisha and Elisha first scolded this pious king and said to the other, look if he wasn't here, I wouldn't do anything for you, but as he is, for his justice I will bless you.
And then something very interesting happens here and that is that Eliseo asks if there is a singer in the group. He says, find me a singer. What is a drummer? A player was like a person who sang, a prophetic singer, a person who might play the tambourine or something like that and he asks the player to start playing. I don't know exactly what that musical moment consisted of, but the question comes first, why did Elisha, a powerfully anointed man of the Lord, a prophet who functioned in the prophetic office, why did he ask for a musician? Because he had a prophetic word that needed to come out of his spirit. And that drummer beginning to sing in the spirit was going to unleash the word that God wanted to flow.
That is one of the beauties of worship. When congregational worship is truly flowing and the spirit of the Lord is moving, and a congregation learns to worship – let me tell you, not every congregation that sings is worshipping. Worship is something very specific, it is something that requires a certain anointing from the Lord, certain ingredients that are given. That is why people believe that sometimes worship is, well, we sing two hymns, a chorus and we go back to where we came from. Worship is something that takes time. That's why I tell people, if we want God to move in our midst we have to pay the price. People who want a soaked service, 40 minutes and we go home, do not know what they are asking for.
Many people ask the Lord, Lord, do something, bring revival, bring blessing, visit us, bring souls, and the Lord says, okay, are you willing to pay the price? 25 years ago we prayed at Central Baptist Church in Cambridge for revival and we started to have revival and it resulted in a split in the church. We lost 20 percent, the cream of the cream, from the church we lost, the founders, the tithers, the entire praise group, the musicians left us, and we ran out of music but we stayed with the Spirit Holy.
In fact, I facilitated the division because I realized that there were 2 essences in the church. There was a group that wanted to stay in the old move and when God began to speak to me about seeking the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the move of the Holy Spirit, we began to open up. Fany is feeling here, some of you who come from that time know what I mean. Meche, Samuel, Marina, others who were at that time. You will remember, people filled with the Holy Spirit began to come, crazy Pentecostals who came to the church, because I did not have much experience at that time, in the movement of the Holy Spirit, and I did not want to follow the models that I saw in the Latin world either. especially Pentecostal.
And God brought people who helped us, Delmi is here, Carolina León, people who came, others, and they helped me and taught this young pastor how to move and we began… we removed the 19th century organ that was there, we began to put up a keyboard and we started using drums and bass and all that kind of stuff, and worshipers started coming. And one of the things was that, that all the worshipers of all the leaders of the Music Department left us. We had some amazing singers, they were singers not singers, but they left us and we had a hard time. And I prayed to the Lord, Lord, send musicians to our church, because we went through a sterile time musically.
And he knows that very musically skilled people began to come, many better than the initial ones. And I tell you that since then this church has never lacked excellent musicians and excellent worship. And I think it was because of that sacrifice that we said, no, we are not going to allow what God wants to do to be [inaudible] and I didn't even know the price I was going to have to pay, but when I saw that we had 2 churches inside of the congregation and it was getting darker in the air and there was conflict in the Baptist-type business meetings, and there was resentment and all that, I saw a violent division coming and the Lord directed me to call the founding pastor of the church, who at that time time could come and I invited us to plant a new church in Boston. And that 20 percent more or less left us in peace.
After that the blessing fell on the Lion of Judah. There came the dream that I had of coming to the city of Boston, from the lion of the tribe of Judah, which is the name we have now. And this move of God came and we took a terrible risk, moving from an extremely elegant area in the city of Cambridge next to Harvard, MIT, Boston University, to one of the most derelict and dangerous areas in the entire city, which was this place 20 plus years ago. And the Lord honored our faith and blessed us.
You do not know the sacrifice that this has been for me personally, I am going to speak here as before a psychiatrist, you are my psychiatrist right now, what this change from the 9 o'clock service to the 12 o'clock service has been for me. I have bet that I heard from the Holy Spirit. I know that for many of you this movement has been costly and some have even thought that your pastor has neglected you. I know, and that's okay, don't worry. I understand those feelings and I myself have doubted the decision I made many times, but again, I have determined that I either live this pastorate authentically or I better quit and go sell shoes somewhere over there or something. There are other things one can do.
If you are going to get into this you have to drink it to the last drop and you have to live in what you have adopted. If you jump into something, jump headlong, don't be there, do I get in? That is where the devil takes advantage of you, of a warrior who is not sure what he is going to do, he is going to be defeated. It has to be clear.
And I launched myself believing that I have heard from the Lord to separate these two services and before God I confess that I know that God is not going to let me be ashamed. He is going to bless, and look, I already see the blessing. And don't worry, when we get too busy we're going to open a third service. Keep calm. That's the good thing.
When one is faithful to the Lord and one is obedient and subject to the spirit, God blesses and rewards us. I have had that in mind and God knows my heart and perhaps God will reward us by saying, that is why this blessing now those who felt that need... I know that God has an answer, brothers and I feel blessed seeing you here in this beautiful manifestation of the life of the people of God that you are at this moment, in this place. But I even forgot what I was going to say.
The case was that when we decided to let the Holy Spirit manifest in that way in the midst of our congregation, things came up that we did not expect. When one says to the Lord, move, when one says to the Lord, we want revival, when one says to the Lord, Father, I want you to do with me what you want; be careful what you say because God may give you something you weren't even thinking of and it may be something you didn't even want. But I assure you that God's delicacies are unmatched. A little piece of manna bread from God is worth a delicacy placed on a table made by a man.
And then a church has to start moving and flowing in the Holy Spirit and seeking that anointing from God. When Elisha asks that player to start playing, what he is looking for is that anointing of the spirit, that anointing that unleashes worship in the spirit. I assure you that that player did not start with some music that was already pre-established, he began to play and Elisha began to listen and invite the Holy Spirit to move within him and to speak to him. And then from the bowels of Elisha came a prophetic word, an unprecedented word, and that word was that rivers of water would begin to flow in the desert, and that's exactly how it happened. That desert that had no water anywhere began to flow, from where? It must have been from below the surface, one does not know, but water, symbol of life, came out of the stone, came out of the sand, came out of sterility and gave life to that army and all those kings and that great army drank and were released to continue his career. But it came as a result of that prophetic moment.
Sometimes I have seen that when one does that, I believe in preparing the worship, I believe in preparing the sermons. I can show you right now the sermon that I had prepared for this morning. I took my time, there is about the equivalent of 4 or 5 pages of notes that I take preparing my sermons. I can read them and they are very legible as if they were written. I take time, but when God tells me otherwise, I have learned to let the Lord lead.
Another illustration about that, a while ago I brought a sermon myself, not prepared, when we were in the other building and God moved and glorified himself in that word and it was a sermon that brought blessing to the church for observing them, and not I am saying from my own impression, it was a great blessing. And I thought, wow, what a pity I didn't write it, it's already lost. It just went as stated in the air and dissipated. I would have liked to have written it, recorded it or in some way, or prepared it. And I felt in my heart that God told me, don't worry, where that one came from there are many more.
The spirit of the Lord is inexhaustible and I have learned to rest in the Lord because when you connect to the infinite wisdom of God you are then... it's like you were plugged into an inexhaustible source. And if you manage to plug yourself into the power and wisdom of God, you are potentially as infinite as that source of wisdom, as you flow in the spirit of the Lord.
So, the key to a church, the key to a ministry of worship, the key to a pastor is that, to be in intimate communion with the infinite spirit of God because then one can do incredible things. I ask the Lord more and more every day, Father, help me, because the ministry becomes more and more demanding, more things I have to do, more places to preach and I say to the Lord, Lord, you are going to have to give me simply that I can produce without having to prepare too much. And the Lord has given me that certainty that if I had more faith I would sleep like a log before preaching, the night before, but I still worry because I am… I like to prepare myself.
But I have learned that when… God has never left me in shame when I have decided to throw myself into the air and simply trust that he will give a word and he always provides because we dare to do that. And so this morning when I stood here and went up, in my mind was all those things. I know that some are going to think, well, the pastor is back to get us into trouble, our brothers in technology are going to think that I am a sadist and that I like to make them suffer. I don't know, maybe I'm exaggerating, but it's what happens and it's natural. It is understood that I am violating the program, but I think that sometimes one has to make oneself fragile in the Lord, one has to put ourselves in the zone of discomfort and for me it was almost like a teaching too, for myself, for our brothers that as a church
Where God wants to take us, brothers, we are going to have to do that, sometimes we are going to have to let God take control of the program and there has to be a people that is willing to flow in the same way, because otherwise our leaders will to be in one area and people will be in another. I ask that the Lord raise us all to the same level so that we can flow at the same level then.
And I think this morning there was a special blessing because I know the worship group was praying for more prophecy to come out in the worship group. And my encouragement has always been to them, hey, go for it. For me it was a great liberation when I freed myself from the notes and learned to preach more simply, as if to say, Lord, I entrust myself to your grace, because before I had to read everything I was going to say and I was tied to the outline, to the outline of the sermon. And God allowed me to free myself in that part.
I would take my notes but then I would just let the Lord... and even now, as you can see, I don't even have the topic I'm going to preach about clearly drawn. But prophetic worship... and it doesn't always have to be like this, but there has to be a people that knows the mysteries of the prophetic movement of God and that knows the mysteries of the Holy Spirit and that is why I believe that this blessing is because we are moving more in that direction. Yes, we can have a program, but that program is just scaffolding.
Scaffolds after you use them, you throw them down. Scaffolding is just something to help you climb onto something. There is a Chinese saying that goes like this, use the scaffolding or the ladder and after you have reached where you need to get rid of it. And what happens is that we have turned the scaffolding into the building itself. We have turned the program that is simply a starting point, a support, and we have turned it into the center.
And the programs are good, the grades are good, the protocols of a congregation are good, the systems are good, and we are a church that places a lot of emphasis on financial systems. Our financial system allows our church to be audited by a secular firm every year and not every church has that because we have contracts with the government, with the state, with philanthropic foundations for the social services we do and these people don't like each other Not at all, as we Puerto Ricans say, they don't even laugh with their mother. That has to be there, the numbers and what the church says, they have to prove that it really is what it is said to be.
We believe in systems, we believe in government, we believe in protocols, we believe in order, but in the long run I know that this is simply support, it is not the end in itself. It is a starting point, it is a backup, but what is worth the most is the life of God moving in the midst of his people. And it takes congregations that can flow like that. It is risky, sometimes it fails, because sometimes there are people who confuse the spirit with the flesh.
I have always said that when a church enters into the movement of the spirit, it also opens up to diabolic seduction and opens up to the flesh as well. There are neurotic people who believe that it is the spirit that is manifesting itself and it is their neurosis. There are people who begin to prophesy and then begin to criticize the pastor, Father, allow the pastor to truly know you. Forgive him for his sins. This church, Lord, that is full of sin, take it out… etc., and they begin to prophesy of their own flesh.
Not everything that passes for prophecy is prophecy. Sometimes it is raw meat and sometimes the devil can also get into a congregation, pseudo-prophetic spirits that have sometimes even divided a congregation, because God's people, in their good desire to let God manifest, stop discerning. The more a church wants to move in the spirit, the more discernment there must be, the more apostolic authority that judges what is happening.
The Bible says so itself, the Apostle Paul says that when there is prophecy, people listen and others judge. Judge what? Judge the prophecy, its solidity, its biblical character, because all prophecy has to be submerged under the frame of reference of the word of God. So a church has to flow in both. The more a church wants to abandon itself to the movement of the spirit, the more spiritual government there must be, the more pastoral authority there must be.
Many times people get annoyed when the pastor stops a person or tells him that it is time and there are some who get annoyed with that, I know. Don't raise your hand but I know there are. But I have learned that there has to be order too. The church of Jesus Christ moves between those 2 pillars, order and protocol, and the explosive movement of the Holy Spirit. And he has to live in that tension of both things.
I was speaking to the congregation this morning about the 2 models that are in scripture that I see and that I am sure others have also seen of how the church works. The church works in a binary way, I believe that the people of God are like computers, 1 0 and that 1 that 0 produce incredible and multifaceted things. And the two modalities of the spirit in the life of a congregation and of a man or a woman, on the one hand there is the model of the temple and on the other hand there is the model of the sanctuary, of the tabernacle.
And these 2 models, the tabernacle model and the temple model are 2 ways of the church operating in the spirit world. When the people of God were in the desert in their first stage, they were a pilgrim people, they were a nomadic people. God had brought them into the desert and they had to stay there for 40 years and while they moved in that desert God provided them with certain aids so that they could function in a very spontaneous way. And so the tabernacle was a tent made of skins and it had some supports to support it and there were some utensils that had to be very mobile because it was a nomadic people, one day it was in one place and another day it could be in another place.
And God also provided 2 guides, a column of cloud of smoke for the day to give them shade and give them guidance and at night a column of fire. And the word says that when the column stopped or the cloud stopped and the fire stopped, the people established their room there, they removed their things, they unpacked and they could stay there for 6 months, a year, whatever, and that column and that fire and that cloud remained static. The people knew that the spirit was telling them, stay here.
And they had a tabernacle that was a symbol of the presence of God and their worship center that was assembled and disassembled in a simple way. And that tabernacle was made like this, provisional, to be able to move easily, so that it didn't have much weight. Because? Because God's people were called to be agile. When God said, get up, they had to take all their things and go where God moved them.
What would happen if that town stayed there because they were happy, because there was an oasis, because it was a beautiful place and the cloud left in front of them and they stayed where they were? The presence of God left them. They had to flow as God led them. And for me that is a model of the Christian life. It is the model of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the spirit that speak to us, direct us, sometimes unexpectedly, sometimes one is comfortable in a place, like me in the place of my sermon that I had already prepared this morning, but the cloud says , no, that sermon is not for today. Leave it there, don't worry, I'll provide you with something better.
And then when the cloud begins to move from the sermon, I better follow it and since I have decided to follow it there is blessing. When God tells a music director, look, this is the song that I need and sometimes that is not going to come as a... that's what he tells you, my daughter, the Lord, I want you to sing to me, God is our refuge, our strength. No, many times it will be an impression that it could even be a secular thought. but you have to choose between whether you sanctify what you have felt or whether you receive it as a word from God and obey.
When God gave me the dream of the Lion of Judah that we were in Cambridge over the skyscrapers of Boston and I experienced in my spirit something that I had almost never felt about a dream, which becomes a vision, and you perhaps know the history. No one came to me, an angel did not come to touch me from behind to tell me, look, that is from God, listen to it. A number of impressions came to me that God was speaking to me through that dream. That image of the Lion of Judah came to me is your motto. You are going to function in the mode of the lion. That is the Jesus that you are going to use as your model and your paradigm. Not the sheep, not Jesus the shepherd boy, but Jesus the lion.
And a lion, you know, is often harsh, sometimes a lion roars and is unpleasant, but that is also the Christ that we have and we have to pay a price. And sometimes God wants a church to function as a slightly rough church, God does not want a fine church, very delicate, well polished, sometimes God wants a slightly rough church because it is in the lion's fashion. And that's what you need this time.
The demons that are over the culture at this time require the roar of the lion that makes them flee, not in the politically correct pretty word, it is the word of the lion that makes war against the principalities and the powers. The Lord when he spoke to me about that lion on top of a host of demons that was on top of the Boston skyscrapers, I proclaiming from where I was, you are the Lord, you are the Lord, through those demonic hosts, to that face of a lion that was in the firmament, he brought me a number of conclusions about the symbolic value of that dream and told me, you are going to go to Boston. I had no intention or desire to come to the city, let alone to a crime-infested area like this area was 20 years ago.
I didn't have an urban vision but not at all. The church was already beginning to grow and my desire was to go to an area outside the city, rather, near highways to find a place and establish the church there. I had no desire to come to a city. But in that dream of the city of Boston and those demonic hosts the Lord told me, you have to come to the city. It has to function in lion mode.
That's when we changed our name from Central Baptist Church or Lion of Judah Congregation. At first it was embarrassing, Lion of Judah what is that? an animal? Why do you call him the Lion of Judah? And no one knows what that is often eaten with. It's a strange name, a different name. Some brethren objected to the name because in that traditional Baptist mentality, Lion of Judah Congregation, the Lord spoke to me about it. He told me about our church being united in some strange way with the people of Israel and valuing and blessing the people of Israel. That is why the word congregation, not the Lion of Judah church, because that word congregation takes us back to the congregation of the Jewish people. And in English it is Congregation Lion of Judah, not Lion of Judah Congregation. Your pastor studied literature and for some reason knows the difference between those two forms.
It is a congregation and it was the Lion of Judah and when we say the Lion of Judah congregation we are affirming a series of things in our spiritual neurology. So, it was to come to the city, God had also told me, they are going to work in a war mode, because the lion is a warrior. And you come to make war against principalities and powers.
When we got here it was full of crime, violence, a lot of things. That's why that group that left would never have been able... I would never have been able to make that decision to come here to Boston, that group was too respectable. I love and bless them, but they were very uptight people, in a way. And they wouldn't have come to a neighborhood full of crime, a ghetto like this was in the year 1993/94, when we bought this building.
He also told us, Judah is the tribe that leads the worship and leads the worship. And you are going to flow in worship and you are going to have to learn to worship me and that is why this church… because God has given us a spirit of worship and I think we could do more. Hopefully one day we can come here and drag ourselves out of here with our heads disheveled and our shirts undone because we've been on the move because that's what God wants. And let us ask the Lord to break the schemes and to do this too.
Because God told me through that name Judah is also a tribe of adoration because the tribe of Judah headed. And it is also head, the tribe of Judah where Jesus Christ came from and in that we do not glory, because we are so undeserving of the grace that God has placed on this congregation, but God told us, you come to lead, you come to be against principalities and powers. And I had dreams at the beginning of being here, of spiritual warfare. And we have even more, but whoever engages in spiritual warfare better sanctify himself because the demons are going to take advantage of any gap p…
There are many people who go to do spiritual warfare but are not prepared and the devil finds the gap and gets in there and opens fire. Cover your back, I say that with fear and trembling. If one is going to do spiritual warfare, purify and sanctify himself because it is retribution that comes from the host of hell. But God has called us and I believe that God has helped us in many ways to bless, by testimony of secular people who have seen the transformation in this area, that Lion of Judah has contributed at least to the blessing. This area was once swarming with curses, today it is one of the most sought-after areas in the entire city of Boston. And there are still some pretty big and serious little demons out there that still need to be decapitated, because the devil does not give up his territory, some leave and others enter.
But we must keep looking because God has a purpose and since I know that God has a purpose we continue, we continue, we continue until the woman's fountain breaks and the child is born. This woman has been pregnant for a long time and there is something that God has to do in us.
I am flowing in free association. Let me also tell you something, years ago I had a dream, another one of those dreams because God speaks to me through dreams. I had a dream about the cemetery that is next to Park Street Church, that is an 18th century cemetery, some of the heroes of the American Revolutionary War are buried there, some of the colonial figures. It's a colonial cemetery, I don't think new people are buried there anymore, because it's a historic cemetery. It's a burial ground from when Boston was under the Puritans and under the early Christians. Boston was still a God fearing city.
And I saw that cemetery and I saw 3 graves with their tombstones already eaten by the wind and water, like those tombstones. If you go to Park Street Church or go to those 17th century cemeteries in Cambridge, for example, you see that the tombstones, by force of being affected by the weather, the cold, the wind, the rain, have become very thin. like a cookie Some of them are very fragile and simply there the names and the date of death and birth have been erased and what remains is simply a cement cookie, or whatever it was at that time, made of stone.
And there were 3 piles of earth, because they were like fresh graves where 3 people had been buried and I think I understand why the background of that classic time of the 18th century and of the Puritan time and all that, because it is something there where God also helped me. He has spoken about it for the future, and that is why he has us in the city of Boston, a historic city, because God does his things and since the foundation of time he has been spinning, weaving together his narratives.
The case was that those 3 tombs were there and in my spirit in the dream I felt that God wanted me to pray for the resurrection of those people who were buried. By the way, I recently had another dream where an American woman spoke to me and I am going to confess it here now because I told my wife, where this old woman began to prophesy to me, a humble woman, round face, short, white, American, and he began to tell me, I am saying it here so that when it is given it will be known that it was said here because words sometimes have to be declared.
She began to tell me, in your life and in your ministry there will be resurrections, many resurrections, she said, and she said this, there will be no waste, wanting to tell me that the gift would be perfect and that whoever was prayed for would rise again, that there would be no waste. Now I'm even afraid to say it because of how terrible that sounds, I know, but sometimes one keeps quiet about things and is often suppressing the spirit of God.
If God wants to do it, he will, but I wasn't looking for that, and this is a time when God has been speaking to me in many ways, almost every night in dreams of different kinds. And what she said was that, there will be numerous resurrections and there will be no waste. Just think of the language, it's a strange thing.
The thing was that in this dream that I had about 25 years ago, I have never forgotten, there were those 3 piles, the 3 graves, and the Holy Spirit told me in the dream to pray for them for a resurrection. When I began to pray there was a movement, a tremor in each pile and at the moment 3 things rose to the surface on top of each pile, and I say things because they were 3 small dolls, they were not living beings, they were inert dolls, lifeless and they they posed on top
And I understood in my spirit in the dream that what had happened was that Satan had spoiled the miracle. Listen to this. He had spoiled the miracle because the mysteries of the world of the spirit are very great and very deep. There is war and when the life of God is going to be born Herod is always there, or Pharaoh to kill the life of God. When the people of God were going to leave Egypt, Pharaoh wanted to weaken the people with a lot of work and enslave them even more.
When Jesus is to be born, Herod orders all the children to be killed to see if he can also kill the newborn Son of God, because the world of darkness always tries to spoil and abort the life of God. And this church for many decades and my own life have been in spiritual warfare because the devil does not want the life that God has declared to be born. There is spiritual warfare in the air. There are things that God has to do and the devil sometimes puts difficulties and obstacles within the same congregation or in the lives of the men and women that God calls for him to have the right to restrict the life of God who wants to manifest himself.
And one of the things that I have understood is that there is a struggle and we have to pray and cry out to the Lord so that the life of God is released in this town and that what God wants is done and that what God wants to manifest is manifest.
I looked at those 3 creatures or what is called inert on top of the piles and then I felt from the spirit that I had to pray in tongues because Satan had restricted and aborted what God wanted to do. And when I began to fight in the spirit those 3 dolls began to come to life and became 3 healthy, pink, lush babies. That has stayed in my spirit during all these years, as a symbol that God has a purpose of great movement, great revival, great resurrection, great things that God wants to do and that is what explains part of the agony for me.
I could be very happy and very satisfied with a church like the one we have, but brothers, for me this is a simulation, it is not that I am underestimating or detracting from God's blessing, but when God has told you that they are much greater things than this it is simply something symbolic, the life of God is going to be unstoppable. If what God has spoken to me is real, this cannot be contained within 4 walls. We could build a building 10 times as big and it wouldn't be enough. This is nothing with that, and if you live with that suspicion within you, you are not satisfied. This does not bring me any joy, brothers, I tell you sincerely.
It brings me satisfaction because glory to God, how good that God is blessing and that there is…. But what God has said is much greater and when you know that God has called you to something greater, you live hypnotized by what you have before you and you say, no, Lord, there is more, there is more, because I believe you. for more. I believe you so much that what is beautiful is like an essay, it is a starting point. Your beauty is immeasurable, it has no expression.
But the scripture has to be fulfilled and this church has to come to a specific cooking point and there are things that have to be done almost naturally for the scripture to be fulfilled before God sends down his power in a supernatural way. We have to learn like those sailors who learn to navigate with sails to learn to orient themselves with the stars and many armies, navies train them like this, their sailors train them with sailboats, their officers, so that they learn to navigate like a sailboat is navigated, only with the stars and with natural means. and then they can use the computer and all that stuff, but first they learn to navigate.
And sometimes God does that with congregations and their leaders, first preparing them for hand-to-hand warfare and then giving them technological weapons. I believe that God has wanted us to learn to function as a people in the normal faith and to learn to use the humble weapons of the Christian faith. And at some point, if what I have felt and believed and lived and God has told me, I believe, is real, the glory of the Lord will be uncovered and we will flow in other much more powerful ways, other much more spectacular technologies, but we must be faithful and you have to get up every day and greet the Holy Spirit and say, Lord, what you want. If you love me like this humbly with the figure of Clark Kent, we will live like this until you want, Lord. And if one day you want something else, amen, let it be your glorified name.
You have to be obedient in little to be put in much, brothers. But we have to learn to be the people of God. We have to make ourselves humble and brittle, simple of heart, let God speak to us as he wants and come here, sometimes we want a lion's cry to come out and a caged bird's moan will come out, but glory to God, it is Ok, then things heat up.
You have to start flowing in what God gives you. What do you have on hand? Use what you have at hand and then God will put atomic weapons in your hands. We are going to learn to be the people of God. Let's flow in the Holy Spirit. Then another day we'll continue with the story of Elisha in the desert and worship and all these things, the temple mode, the tabernacle mode.
These are images to which God is calling us, that we learn to flow in the tension of extremes, the tension of order and the predictable, the established. That is important, the systems and the modality of the spirit. Put ourselves there for the Lord to do and speak what he wants in us and simply put ourselves as an empty vessel where God can pour his oil. If the vessel is full, the oil cannot fit. You have to empty yourself to be filled, says the Lord.
Lion of Judah you have to make yourself humble, simple and neutral so that the power of God can be manifested in your life. A car has to go to neutral, those standard cars so that it can move, if it is in a gear it does not move. You have to put yourself in neutral and let the Lord speak. Let's come like this
Let's pray for our church. Stand up. We are going to ask the Lord to teach us, I am here just moving blindly like a sleepwalker, letting the Lord lead us and guide us. Sometimes we are clumsy in that effort but I know that the Lord will not let us be ashamed.
We adore you, Lord, thank you for your presence. We want to be that people chosen by you, Father, we want to be that people that flows according to your designs, Lord. Look at our word, Father, that it does not fall to the ground, Lord, that it does not return to you empty, that these audacious things that one confesses, Lord, do not lead to ridicule but lead to a consummation on your part, Father.
We become fragile, Lord, we become weak so that you may be strong in us, Father. Fill this town, Lord, each one of you right now is an empty vessel, the Lord tells me, you are an empty vessel and God wants to fill you with his oil. Make yourself an empty vessel, get rid of all your content, if you can, all your preconceptions, and this afternoon I say to the Lord, Lord, empty me, get rid of everything, intellect, emotions, will, dreams, personal agenda, get rid of everything and empty me so I can contain your oil, Lord.
And so this congregation, Father, its personality, its configuration, its history, its program, its systems, erase it all, blow on it, blow on it, Lord, right now, take it away, Father, and show us our new identity as a people. Don't leave us Lord, return to Egypt. Don't let us go back to Egypt, Father. Give us a resolute and clear mindset. We'd rather die in the desert than go back to Egypt, Father. We don't want to go back to normal, sir. We need your visitation. Pregnant us with your life, Father, and glorify yourself. Hide the man, hide the church and hide his name, Father, and put yourself on so that when they see this church they only see you, Jesus Christ, no one else, Lord. And glory be exclusively for you.
Send your anointing, send your grace on this town, Father. Visit this town, Lord, at this time. Send your fire, send your rain, send your breath, Lord. We strip ourselves of all personal agenda and ask you, settle yourself, Holy Spirit, settle yourself, Lord, and glorify yourself. This word, Father, I throw it like a prayer before you, a prayer, Lord, a cry from the depths of my being. Receive it, Father, receive it and activate it, Lord, in the midst of us, your life and your purposes, Holy Spirit.
