False Prophets

Summary: In the letter to the church in Thyatira, Jesus addresses the issue of a false prophetess named Jezebel who was sowing deceit and leading the Christians in that church to participate in sinful activities, such as worshiping idols and committing fornication with temple prostitutes. Jesus warns the church to not tolerate her teachings and promises to throw her into great tribulation if she does not repent. He also commends the genuine Christians in the church for their love, faith, service, and perseverance. The message emphasizes the importance of discernment and authenticity in the church, as well as the need to be aware of false teachings and seductions that can lead us astray from God's will.

In Revelation 2:20-23, the prophetess Jezebel is mentioned as having deceived the servants of God in the church at Thyatira by justifying sexual immorality and false teaching. This is compared to the Old Testament Queen Jezebel who corrupted Israel with pagan worship and killed Jehovah's prophets. The spirit of Jezebel represents a false, counterfeit church that is in conflict with the true, biblical church. Tolerance of people is good, but tolerance of false teaching is a sin. The Lord is looking for a clear church that is courageous and clings to the truth, even in the face of pressure to conform to the world. Jezebel is warned of a strong judgment if she does not repent, and in the Old Testament, the medicine for Jezebel was a strong one, as seen in the actions of King Jehu.

The letter to the church in Thyatira warns against false teachings and encourages authenticity in the church. Jesus promises authority over the nations to those who overcome and remain faithful to the truth. The letter ends with the promise of the morning star, which represents Jesus shining in his authority among us. We are called to resist false teachings and hold onto the truth, and God will give us the power to advance the Kingdom of God.

Revelation chapter 2, we are reading the letters of Jesus to the churches. At the beginning of the book of Revelation as you know, Jesus gave a vision of himself to the Apostle John and gave him a spiritual vision of what was happening in the world so that he could see what was behind the historical events and also gave him prophecies. specific to each church there near where Juan was, 7 letters for them and for us. Because each letter talks about a different strategy that the devil uses to try to neutralize the church of Jesus Christ.

You know that? that God has a purpose and a plan and sadly the devil also has a plan with your life and with the churches. The devil does what is called tricks to try to neutralize the church of Jesus Christ, but thank God we are not stupid, we can know his tricks, we can come against it and be a winning church that knows how to overcome the creativity of the devil because our God he is the main creator of the entire universe and he knows how to teach us to respond to the wiles of the devil.

We have already read several strategies that the devil uses to neutralize a church. There was a church in Ephesus that was an excellent church, they loved the Lord, they were super faithful people, they did good things but they had lost their first love. And it was learned that a winning church is a church that knows how to cultivate love for God, that it is not enough to do what is good, we also want to adore him with hearts full of love.

Strategy 2: the church in Smyrna. He lived in a city with a lot of persecution, the government was killing people who refused to worship the emperor and so the devil tried to intimidate God's people. In Smyrna they learned that to be a winning church we have to be faithful until death, that God does not promise us an easy life and requires us to decide that I am going to serve my Jesus no matter what.

Strategy 3 with the Pergamum church. The devil tried to intimidate them, it didn't work, so he sent seduction. If I can't intimidate them, the devil thinks, I'm going to tempt them into doing things to put them under God's judgment. And he seduced the Christians in Pergamum to start frequenting pagan temples and worshiping idols and having sex with temple prostitutes. The devil thinks, if I can't defeat them, I'm going to tempt them to sin and God himself will judge them. Seduction. We learned that a winning church has to be astute and not be seduced.

And now we are going to read the letter to the church in Thyatira. In this church the devil tried a trick more deceitful than any that had gone before. He sowed some agents of his side within the church, false prophets, to destroy the people of God from within and so we are going to read about the false prophetess that the enemy planted in that church and how the people of God had to have the eyes open to that. Revelation 2 beginning in verse 18, and write to the angel of the church in Thyatira:

“The Son of God, the one with eyes like a flame of fire and feet like burnished bronze says this, 'I know your works and love and faith and service and patience and that your last works are more than the first but I have a few things against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophesy, teaches and seduces my servants to fornicate and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I have given him time to repent but he does not want to repent of his fornication. Behold, I throw her to bed and into great tribulation to those who commit adultery with her if they do not repent of her deeds. And I will kill their children and all the churches will know that I am the one who searches the mind and the heart and I will give to each of you according to your works. But to you and to the others who are in Thyatira, to those who do not have that doctrine and have not known what they call the depths of Satan, I tell you, I will not impose another burden on you but what you have, hold it until I come. To him who overcomes and keeps my works until the end, I will give him authority over the nations and he will rule them with a rod of iron and they will be broken like a potter's vessel, just as I also received it from my Father, and I will give him the morning star. . Let him who has an ear hear what the spirit says to the churches."

Father, I ask you to give us an ear to hear what you want to tell us, Lord. I want to be, Father, a sheep attentive to the voice of the shepherd and I ask you to continue speaking to your people, Lord, because we want to be guided by you in the name of Jesus. Amen. Amen.

A cancer from within, a false prophetess in the church who gave the brothers of Thyatira a deep message. She had received revelation from God, she allowed the Christians of that church to go to the pagan temple to worship an idol, eat the food offered to the idol, and commit fornication with the prostitutes who worked there in the temple. false prophecy.

You know that we as a church believe in prophecy. We believe that God spoke in the Bible once for all and under that authority the Lord continues to give revelations to his people by receiving messages from him to encourage God's people, to confirm decisions that are made, to warn us when we are wrong. I thank God for the Christian prophets that we have, people who have given me messages from the Lord, who encourage me, who warn me and sometimes they have told me things and I say, but how did you know that? It was from the Holy Spirit.

And also in that church we believe in Christian prophetesses, that women of God, women leaders can receive messages from the Lord. If you read in the Bible there were prophetesses with Moses. Moses and his sister Miriam, there were also other cases, King Hosea when he read the word and wanted more guidance and looked for a prophetess named Ulda. In the New Testament, the book of Acts says a beautiful prophecy, chapter 2, "that in the last days I will pour out my spirit on all flesh, on your sons and your daughters will prophesy."

So we believe in prophecies and we believe in prophetesses but we don't believe in false prophetesses. So I don't want anyone to take this teaching and say, any woman who does anything is a Jezebel. Nothing to do. What we are talking about is the false teaching that neutralizes a church. Teaching that justifies God's people participating in sin by saying that it is okay. This is false prophecy. And it is a terrible deception and today more than ever Christians we have to be astute because there is a lot of false teaching. There is teaching justifying what you want and uses theology, and uses revelation and uses many things to deceive the people of God.

Thank God we serve a warrior Jesus who is the Son of God, it says in the revelation, in verse 18 it says that "he has eyes like flames of fire and feet like burnished bronze," this Jesus must be heeded, because You don't play with this Jesus. It is not a Jesusito.

In Thyatira they worshiped the god Apollo who was the son of Zeus. We know that we serve Jesus, the Son of God. And it is a reference, I believe, to Psalm 2 and I want us to look at it together because it frames the entire text that we are going to read. Psalm 2 writes to people who may doubt God's control of history because it seems that everything is so wrong that it seems that the kings of the earth are doing what they want and even the church sometimes conforms to them. But it says in Psalm 2:

“…why do the people riot and the towns think vain things? The kings of the earth will rise up and princes will consult together against the Lord and against his anointed saying, 'Let us break their bonds and cast their cords from us,' he who dwells in heaven will laugh, the Lord will mock them. And then he will speak to them in his fury and he will trouble them with his wrath, but I have set my king on Zion, my holy mountain, and I will publish the decree of the Lord, my son has told me you are. I fathered you today. Ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance and the ends of the earth as your possession.”

Jesus is the Son of God who is on his throne even when it seems that the whole world is against him. Brothers, it is important to know that because we can watch the news, go to your workplace, and think maybe I will be the last? Thank God you can congregate here, but the other days of the week one thinks, but where is God? This psalm, and at the beginning of this letter to Thyatira, God answers where Jesus is. He is on the throne, the Son of God who represents the king God over all the earth. Don't worry, it's more, we have to have a healthy fear of it.

He has eyes of fire. All this is a reference, I also believe, to a revelation of a warrior angel to the prophet Daniel, in Daniel 10, he was fasting and praying and a warrior angel appeared to him named Gabriel, warrior of God, and he says that his face was like lightning. His eyes like fiery torches, his arms and feet like burnished bronze, and the sound of his words like the roar of a crowd. I hope you have a healthy fear of this Jesus. I do. I love him, he is my shepherd, he makes me rest in delicate steps, but he also has eyes of fire and he sees and he sees everything. And he is not fooled.

Me playing soccer with my son one night, the sun had set, very dark, my son says, 'I wish I had two flash lights, lanterns in my eyes to see at night.' My God has eyes that are like torches of fire that sees everything as it says in Proverbs, the king sitting on the throne to judge with his gaze discovers all evil. And yet Jezebel can't hide and can't deceive him. Certainly the darkness, if I said, certainly the darkness will cover me and even the night will shine around me, even the darkness does not hide from you.

He is the one who scrutinizes hearts and minds and with our Jesus you don't play games, he has feet like burnished bronze. I don't know if you have seen the feet of this bionic man, Ironman, when he stands on the ground and the ground breaks, the feet of our Jesus are like bronze, fixed to an iron floor, they don't move, they don't move. they can move, they are not pushed from their position.

The word says that when the Lord returns, his feet will be established on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem, to the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, forming a very large valley, half of the mountain will move to the north, the other half to the south, Jehovah will be king over all the earth. He has strong feet. He is our God, our king, our judge and you don't play with him. Fearsome.

But he also sees the good, he sees what we're trying to do. He seeks authenticity in the church of Jesus Christ and he seeks with these fiery eyes to separate the false from the true. He wants a genuine church, a true church, an authentic church. And there were many in Thyatira who were like that. Look what is said about them here in verse 19:

"I know your works, your love, your faith, your service, your perseverance and that your last works are superior to the first."

He knows that being a true, authentic Christian doesn't mean we're going to be flashy. Real Christianity is not always going to be flashy. But real, genuine, love, the motivation of a genuine Christian, the faith that one trusts in your God, service, perseverance, that you don't give up, that maybe you're not a superhero but you're better than before, you are doing more today than you did yesterday. Thank God.

It is better than those of Ephesus who had forgotten and had to remember their first works. Sometimes people want to complain to me about a little brother, oh, but that brother is sick and how is he a Christian and I don't know what…. I say, well, you should have seen it before, it's much better than before. Has changed.

Last works better than... a little better every day. The Lord does not want us to be all perfect mystics. The Lord seeks love in your heart. Do you have faith, are you trusting in your God? Are you serving, helping the work of the Lord? Persevering, better than yesterday? He knows that being a genuine Christian is not being a superstar, it is being faithful to him. That is what God is looking for.

But Jezebel doesn't want that. The prophetess Jezebel had profound revelations, no, no, no, love and faith, perseverance, no. I have reliefs for you. And we're going to hear what Jezebel says and how God seeks to separate the false, the counterfeit church from the genuine church. Verse 20:

"But I have against you that you tolerate that woman Jezebel who calls herself a prophet, teaches and seduces my servants to fornicate and to eat things sacrificed to idols."

I don't know if her real name was Jezebel, maybe it was, maybe not, but I think she moved in the spirit of an Old Testament queen who had that name, Queen Jezebel. How many here have heard, have read the stories of Jezebel in the Bible? Okay, half, like in the morning.

Queen Jezebel was a queen hundreds of years before Christ, a queen of Israel, but of another nation. Her father was a priest of the demon god Baal, and she was also a priestess of Baal, and King Ahab fell in love with her. Brothers, I encourage you not to fall in love with satanic priestesses, please.

But look, she's pretty, look at that makeup, and that… She had a charm, literally, to dominate that man and control him. That man was fertile ground because he was already evil, it's not that she corrupted him, he wanted to be corrupted. They got married and she, the queen of Israel, threw her hands into the dough to make Israel a pagan country. She began to institute the worship of the demon god Baal in Israel and also of the goddess Sidewalk. And she, the Bible says, that there were 400 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Sidewalk that ate at her table every day. But what table! This is a big table.

It is that she paid them, under the official approval of the state they used satanic prophets in the nation, she paid them. And they passed laws forcing people to worship idols. You had to do it and she began to fight against Jehovah's prophets and the main one of them was called Elijah. The prophet anointed by God who represents the sound teaching of Bible doctrine, that Jehovah is king, that Jehovah is Lord. And she was in conflict with him and with the other prophets of the Lord, she even killed several of them.

But there were some who hid in caves and Elijah himself had to hide in another country for 3 years eating from the ravens and a widow and what the Lord gave him, because he was hiding from Jezebel who seemed to have all the power, but thank you God our Lord laughs at those who seem to have all the power. Elijah returns to Israel to have a run-in with the prophets of Baal.

He says why not? We are going to build two altars and so you, prophets of Baal, are going to cry out to your God and I am going to build another altar and I am going to wet it with water and I am going to call the name of Jehovah and we are going to see which God responds with fire. Do you remember the story? And Elijah is there watching while the prophets of Baal are crying out to their little god, crying out to him all day long and Elijah starts making fun of them. Where is your god? Maybe he's on vacation, maybe he's in the bathroom. He said those things. A strong man, a little rough.

Then he calls, "Jehovah, answer me." And there fire falls from the heavens and consumes the offering that he put there. And everyone was crying out, “Jehovah is God. Jehovah is God.” And the prophets of Baal were killed. God was winning for a moment in Israel. But then comes Jezebel, the queen, a little upset. Your employees, what's up? And she comes and says with her makeup, “Elias, tomorrow you will be like one of them. I am going to kill you."

What would you expect from Elias? Courage. Jezebel, you don't scare me. But how many of us know what the prophet Elijah did? He ran off like crazy and hid under a tree and there, discouraged, he says, “Jehovah, I am no better than my ancestors. Enough already, take my life." And God says, "Okay, rest, you have to eat and rest a little because you are not seeing things well."

How is it that this man of God was intimidated? It is because it was not just a person but a spirit behind her. It is the spirit of Jezebel that is in spiritual warfare with the prophetic spirit of Elijah, of Jehovah over Elijah. And it's a war, a conflict between them and it's intimidating.

And we see something similar with John the Baptist moving in the anointing and mission of Elijah in the New Testament. And the Bible says that he was the one who was also in an encounter with an evil and weak king named Herod, who had taken his brother's wife while his brother was still alive. he had taken his brother's wife from him. And Elijah says that this is not right, the word says that this is not done and the wife, she did not like to hear that, so ErodĂas puts John the Baptist under arrest. And imprisoned John the Baptist is discouraged and even sends a message to Jesus asking, are you really the Christ? Or should we wait for another?

Because the spirit of Jezebel had discouraged him to the point – with sexual seductions and also trickery that Erodías managed to trick her husband Herod into killing John the Baptist in prison and serving his head on a platter. The spirit of Jezebel against the spirit of Elijah. False Prophecy vs. Genuine Biblical Prophecy.

That same war was going on in the city of Thyatira, there this prophecy, we don't know the name but it moved in the spirit of Jezebel, deceiving the servants of God, even leaders in the church that it is okay to do something that the Bible says that It is clearly a sin. That same spirit. And God is calling the people of Thyatira to move in the spirit of Elijah and not allow themselves to be manipulated like Ahab or intimidated. She has to stop what she was doing, it couldn't be tolerated.

He knows that tolerance is a nice and good thing in general. Tolerance is a beautiful thing. We must tolerate the brother who is difficult or complicated. I hope if you are a husband that you tolerate a lot from your wife and I especially hope if you are my husband that you tolerate a lot from me because you have to, because I am not easy sometimes, none of us are. We are all imperfect, we have to tolerate each other. May God make us always be a church that is tolerant of broken people, that people can come to León de Judá just as we are, with all their defects, with all their problems, that they can be here and be endured, tolerated by the Lord and by the church of Jesus Christ, may they find love here.

Tolerating people is good, but tolerating false teaching is a sin. The tolerance of any idea is not from God. Jesus himself told the sinner that I do not judge you, I do not condemn you, but go and sin no more. Jezebel was saying, you can keep on sinning because it's not a sin. She had her tricks. He had terrible deceptions.

The dialogue with the Apostle Paul with the brothers in Corinth is read, in First Corinthians 6:10, the Apostle Paul is correcting them because I believe that they too had been seduced by Jezebel's false prophecy. They thought they were so spiritual, so anointed that it didn't matter what was done with the body. They thought, I am so anointed, so spiritual that I can go to the pagan temple, eat food offered to idols, have sex with a prostitute, a priestess, and it does not affect me at all because I am so spiritual. The body does not matter, it is the spirit. I am under grace, everything is lawful to me. I can do what I want because I am not under the law, I am under grace. Everything is lawful to me.

The Apostle Paul says, you say, everything is lawful for me, but not everything is convenient. He says that you believe that your body is worthless, your body is a member of Christ himself, how am I going to take the members of Jesus and unite them with a prostitute? Flee from fornication. He says that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. You are bought with a price, you have to honor God with your body because the body is for God, not for sexual immorality.

So they came up with another deception that perhaps by revelation a depth, the idol is nothing. Idols are not true gods, they are stone statues, it is not God. So they said, so you can go to the temple and worship idols because the idol is nothing, so worship it, eat the meat, do what you have to do because it is not a god, you can do it and it will not affect you. Do you see the deceit?

The Apostle Paul says, the idol is nothing but the sacrifices that the pagans offer are made to demons that are behind the idols and I do not want you to participate with demons, you cannot eat from the table of the Lord and the table of the demons too. Do you want to play with God? He says, do you think you are stronger than him? These are depths but they are not depths of God, they are depths of Satan and you had better stay ignorant of them.

Brothers, deception continues in our generation. There is teaching that is running in the evangelical church of Jesus Christ in the country that is justifying all kinds of sexual immorality, saying that it is not bad, saying that Christians can approve certain activities that the Bible clearly says are sinful. The Lord expects from us not tolerance but clarity of thought in that.

There are also Christians of all kinds of foolishness who after knowing Christ are still tempted to continue with their superstitious practices of the past life. Maybe something with saints or charms or making charms and things like that, because she's afraid to stop doing it. The Lord says, do not be afraid to stop trusting in a superstition, I am the Son of God, my eyes are a flame of fire, my feet are like burnished bronze. I am your king, trust me, you can let go of these things.

The Lord is looking for a clear church, not a church tolerant of sin. Brethren, these are serious times. Our God is also intolerant of false teaching. I believe that we as a church should be the most tolerant of people and the least tolerant of teaching that deceives people that God loves.

But you know they had a lot of pressure to do these things. If you live in Thyatira and you don't go to the pagan temple with all your co-workers, there were unions, like unions in Thyatira, if you don't go you can lose your job and this is not so far from us too. How many of us know that if you stand firm with certain Christian beliefs in certain aspects of our society you can even lose your job. There is pressure to conform to the world around us, and God invites and challenges us to be a courageous church, a church that clings to the truth and resists Jezebel's false teaching.

Look what it says, some very strong words in verse 21: “Jesus says of Jezebel, 'I have given her time to repent but she does not want to repent of her fornication, therefore I throw her to bed and in great tribulation to those who commit adultery with her if they do not repent of her deeds. I will kill their children and all the churches will know that I am the one who searches the mind and the heart. I will give to each of you according to your works.”

Brethren, those are very strong words. First I would like to say that I believe that the adultery to which these words refer is not literal adultery but spiritual adultery. The Bible says that idolatry is spiritual adultery, it is as if we were being unfaithful to our husband God.

So I think this is what it is about. I don't think her children are literal children either. I believe that this is speaking of her disciples and thus she is speaking of her idolatry but it is a threat of a strong judgment against her.

Going back to Jezebel from the Old Testament, I hope you are, we're going to end up happy here. in the Old Testament the medicine for Jezebel was a strong medicine, as if she were a cancer in the country that had to be treated with strong radiation therapy. The Lord raised up a king named Jehu, who was an intense king against idolatry and he made war with the sons of Ahab and Jezebel and he was approaching the city where the sons of Ahab were with another pagan king, and he approaching in his chariot with the horses they say, the sentinel who was watching a chariot approaching the city but driving like a madman, like he was from Boston, driving like a madman, and he says it has to be Jehu because he's the only madman who He drives his car like this. This is not justification. Do not do it.

But he approaches so zealous for the things of God, he approaches the city and a soldier comes and says, "Jehu, you come in peace." He says, "what peace can there be with the fornications of Jezebel, your mother, and her many sorceries." And he goes to war with the sons of Ahab, kills 70 sons of Ahab and also kills Jezebel herself.

I believe that when he says, I will smite the children in this prophecy, he is referring to that in the Old Testament. I do not believe that Jesus wanted to kill babies, I want to clarify that. I think he was saying that in the same way that Jehu waged war against Jezebel, Jesus is going to wage spiritual warfare against Jezebel's false teaching. So take care.

Now, having said this, and something strong to recognize how can there be peace? I believe that there should be peace between the brothers who are in conflict. I hope we are a very peaceful church so we are tolerant of each other, but there can be no peace with deceit and lies. There are certain things, when there will always be a conflict between the truth and a lie, and this church had to stop tolerating Jezebel's teaching and start resisting it, because God was coming there as something to punish the lie.

But something to clarify, that it is God who punishes, not us. Our role is not to punish the brother who is teaching something false, but to correct and be clear about what we believe. Look what Jesus says, "we don't have to worry but hold on to what we have," even when we feel that we are a very small minority because society makes us feel like little people that what we believe is already past. Like Elijah who said to the Lord, 'I am already the only one, there are no more prophets of God and now they want to kill me,' and God says, 'look, calm down Elijah, there are 7 thousand, there are more, there is a remnant,' and today there is also a remnant of people who are clinging to the truth.

Jesus tells the others who were in Thyatira, “to those who do not have that doctrine and have not known what they call the depths of Satan, I tell you, I do not impose another burden on them but what you have hold on until I come.”

Don't let go of biblical belief, brothers. Even though everyone thinks you're crazy, even though everyone accuses you of being old, of being different, I'm going to retain what God has given me. And this requires courage, it requires strength of character, to hold true when there is deceit, even in the church of Jesus Christ. Love and faith, service and perseverance, doing a little more today than I did yesterday, being genuine, being authentic and not giving up.

Maybe being a genuine Christian isn't flashy but therein lies the power, brethren. Look at the promise that Jesus gives him at the end, he says in verse 26, "To the one who overcomes who keeps my works until the end, I will give him authority over the nations."

Authenticity and authority go together. You don't have to be quite a prophet or prophesy with depths: love and faith, service and perseverance, a little more today than yesterday, authority over the nations. And he says that we are going to reign even though Jezebel is the queen, our Jesus is the king forever and ever and there is nothing and no one that can take that away.

He who is in heaven laughs at those who say that he is already past. He says that I have placed my resurrection, my holy mountain, and here we go with the promise at the end. And this is something wonderful but something very important for us to know as Christians and as a church, Jesus is firmly on his throne and you are there with him.

The Bible says that if we suffer we will also reign with him. The Bible says that we are seated with him in heavenly places. Brother, you have more authority than you think. If you are clinging to the truth there is nothing that can cancel what God has placed in you.

And this is going to be inaugurated... I believe, and I believe from the Bible, that when Jesus comes this world will change. He is going to go through the clouds as we speak, there is going to be a change on this earth and this planet is going to be planet Jesus. It will change from being planet earth and being planet Jesus. He is going to be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The government will be on your shoulders.

And the Bible says that Jesus speaking to his disciples when they were suffering, he says, 'and you are the ones who have stayed with me in my trials. I therefore assign you a kingdom as my Father assigned it to me, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones to judge the 12 tribes of Israel.'

Jesus has given us the right to serve with him in the heavenly government. This is an administration where I do want to serve. I want to be part of the cabinet, part of this team. And some think, look, I'm not for that. you are, if you have love and faith, service and perseverance, a little more today than yesterday, you are qualified. The power is in the authenticity of the church, in being faithful to the revelation of the Lord.

Jesus may even intimidate Elijah himself, but it is the meek who will inherit the earth. The word says, 'ask of me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance and the ends of the earth as your possession.'

One day the kingdom of God is going to cover this whole world like the waters cover the sea and we will be a part of that. But this letter ends with a very special promise, it says 'I will also give you the morning star.'

I don't know if we have some astronomers here but I understand that after the long night, the last star that shines in the heavens is a planet, Venus, that shines on the earth, before the sun rises there is a star that is like a sign that the day is coming soon.

There in Thyatira they worshiped Apollo, the god of the sun. Our Jesus when he comes will shine on this earth in such a way that there will be no need for a sun because day and night the light of Jehovah will shine in this world. One day that long night will end and a new resurrection will come where there will be no more crying or pain, or death, or war, or sin, or anything like that, because God will be in their midst and wipe away all the tears on their faces. He is going to be king and we are going to reign with him.

But this letter ends with encouragement for us, to know that although the sun has not yet risen, this morning star is already shining on us. And Jesus gives us that star. His authority, the sign of the new day, is here now, the authority of Jesus shining in the church and I believe that he wants to shine much more in us. He wants the church to shine like a star giving the word of God in the midst of a perverse generation. But for that authenticity is required. We are going to have to resist the false teachings that are going to run through the nation justifying sin and hold on and hold on to what we have and that authority that God has given us is going to start now.

Jesus said, all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me and therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in him in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all things that I I have commanded and I am with you every day until the end of the world.

Brothers, God wants this church to have the morning star, which is Jesus himself shining in his authority among us, and for that we have to be firm, retain the truth and be genuine, and our God is stronger than anything else . He who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches.

Let's stand up. Let's pray. And I invite you if you are here and perhaps something that I have said has confused you in some way, I hope that you open up to the Holy Spirit at this moment and that we all affirm together that we want to be that winning church in the last days, that we want to resist this spirit of Jezebel that deceives the nations. And Father, in the name of Jesus we come before you and say, Lord, you are our God, Jesus you are the Son of God who has eyes of fire, your feet are like burnished bronze, Lord. You are the morning star, Lord, you are the way, the truth and the life.

I ask you in the name of Jesus to give us the morning star, Lord. May you shine among us and here show authority over the nations. You are great and powerful, Lord. I ask you in the name of Jesus for a spirit of truth, Lord, of prophecy of Elijah in the last days, that this church can rise up with a prophetic voice, the voice of Elijah and although Herod intimidates and Ahab that we be clear in the message that you have given us, Lord. And that we see, Lord, the power, the authority, of the Kingdom of God advance through us. Thank you Jesus we give you in Jesus name. Amen.
