Summary: The passage discussed is Psalm 85:6, which asks if God will revive His people again. The speaker believes that the world is in desperate need of a revival, as God only has two options for dealing with His people: revival or judgment. Revival is a complete return to repentance and a work of God on the Church. The outpouring of God's power is promised in Joel 2:28-32, and the speaker believes that our generation lives in the "last days" and needs revival more than ever. Satan is furious because he knows that revival will lead to multitudes converting to Jesus. We need revival because we are living in dark days, and the speaker references Daniel's prayer for revival in chapter 9.
The speaker talks about the importance of revival in our spiritual lives and the impact it has on society. He shares examples of historical revivals and emphasizes the need for personal repentance and prayer. He encourages listeners to ask God for revival, to examine their hearts for any sins or weaknesses, and to be willing to make sacrifices for the sake of spiritual growth. The worship team leads the congregation in prayer for revival.

One of the passages that we are going to think about together this morning here is Psalm 85 verse 6. If you read all of Psalm 85 you will get the impression that this Psalm was written especially when God's people were back from captivity. Babylonian.
And in verse 5 the psalmist asks a question: "Will you be angry with us forever? Will you spread your anger from generation to generation?" and in verse 6: "Will you not revive us again so that your people may rejoice in you?" The psalmist asks this question.
My beloved brothers: I deeply believe that we are living special days, days that indicate the need for a powerful revival on Earth. I have said, I have preached in recent years that God has only two ways to deal with His people: either God revives the people or God judges the people. And I tell you this morning my brothers that we would not bear a divine judgment, the Earth as it is at this moment would not bear a divine judgment. The amount of evil that is upon the world would not withstand the mighty hand of God.
And let me tell you: when God places His Hand on a nation or on a people He does terrible things to them, but the nation in desperate times needs the Power of God and I could title my message this morning: How to be filled with the fullness? how do we pray for wholeness? How do we ask for the power of God to come down on Earth?
What comes to mind when we think of revival? And many people think that revival is a happy Church, right? a happy Church, I could say that our Church is a revived Church, but we are not in revival, not yet.
Revival my brothers consists of a complete return of the people of God, of the Church of God to its original state, that is, a state of repentance. Revival is a work of God on the Church, it is not a work of man. When we talk about anointing, for example, many think that the anointing is something special, "oh look at this person, how he is anointed, he is full of the Holy Spirit", the anointing can be something momentary in a person's life, but revival is the portion full power of God over a person or over a community and let me tell you, there are people revived.
You can be next to a fully revived person, with your fully revived being. And one day the evangelist Charles Feeney was asked: how can I know if this man or this woman is filled with the Holy Spirit? and Feeney's response was simple, he said: "Just get close to him/her and you will feel his/her flames", get close to him/her and you will feel his/her flames.
A revival begins with a deep repentance within the Church. We repent of the sin of the people, we repent of the sin of the nation and let me tell you my brothers: I was thinking this morning while I was praising the Lord, there are some things about God that the people never understood.
The people of Israel, the kings of the Earth, the great ones of the Earth never understood a God who manifested himself in history in such different ways and many times in such strange ways for them.
Moses for example: he was rejected many times because Moses understood a God who was a strange God for the people. Elijah was completely rejected because he served a God who was a God, for the people, also strange.
I tell you my brothers that today's evangelical churches are not looking for a true revival. We are so busy with the movements, we are so busy with the programming, we are so busy with the television programs, we are so busy with the personal tasks that we are not concerned with what God has for this generation and let me tell you: this generation will not pass away. without me leaving my footprints, my marks in this story.
Every Church has a natural tendency to grow cold. Revive means quicken. The dictionary says that to enliven means to animate, it means to turn on, and for this encouragement to occur, you have to have a spiritual mortification first, for something to turn on it has to be turned off first, there has to be a blackout for it to turn on again, because the Word of God says: "Because the people of God say: will you not give us life again so that your people may rejoice in you? so that your people may rejoice in you?" where are you God? where is the life you have for Your Church?
A certain 18th century preacher said that empty chairs symbolized empty hearts and when I look at empty chairs in church I think our hearts are empty. And when God lights the fire of His Power on this Church, my brothers, let me tell you: we are going to have to find another place or we will have to do many services on Sundays, right?
Revival is a desire to return to the Father's House, a desire to return to your first love. Feeney defines revival as a new willingness of believers to obey Jesus Christ and Feeney said brothers that we should put a spiritual thermometer in our lives to measure when the Church needed a revival to bring down the fullness of God, that is, we would have to have like a spiritual thermometer in our life.
When there is a human mentality, a secular worldly mentality, when there is pride in our lives, when there is envy among the people of God, lack of forgiveness, criticism, evil thoughts, darkness, hidden sins, it is the spiritual thermometer that the Church must have to say: God we need you, God we love you, God, lower Your Power on Earth.
When we watch the news brothers, one day my boss asked me, Micky, upon hearing about the tragedy in Africa with the 148 young people, I just heard it and he told me: not much is said about that here, right, among the Americans? and I said: yes, they don't talk about it much, and he asked me: do you know why? Well, he wanted to talk about racial things (laughs) but I told him: there are other spiritual things involved that you don't know about, I told him.
When we see the situation, brothers, in the Middle East, in South America, the wrong decisions of political leaders, we understand that it is urgent to pray for a fullness of God, for a revival on Earth.
In John chapter 14 verse 21 he says: "Whoever has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me" says Jesus, and in verse 23 he says: "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. He who does not love me will not will keep my words." In other words, that is the thermometer, the Christiometer so to speak, to measure when we need the Power of God. What should our question be today? Do I need my life to be revived? My family, my Church, my city?
Do I really want to see the Power of God being manifested and poured out on my life, on my family, on the nation, on the social groups of my society, on my community, do I really want to see the Power of God being manifested? That is the question, brothers, that we should ask ourselves.
First of all, now I'm trying to get into the sermon, the outpouring of His Power is a promise, God promised us. In Joel chapter 2 I wanted you to review with me the prophecy of Joel chapter 2. From verse 28 to 32 of Joel chapter 2 it says: "And after" underline the word: after, "and after this I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and Your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions, and also on the servants and on the handmaids I will pour out my Spirit in those days" says the prophet, "and I will give prodigies in heaven and on earth, blood , fire and a pillar of smoke, the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and dreadful day of the Lord comes."
"And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved because on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be salvation as the Lord has said, and among the remnant whom He will have called." The time of the fulfillment of the prophet Joel is declared here in the expression "after" which is a Hebrew term from the Hebrew: asharid, which means last events, events of the last days.
If you find out in the Word of God Hosea chapter 3 verse 5 when the Bible talks about the last days it is the same term "asharid" in Hebrew that it uses in Joel chapter 2 verse 28 referring to the last days. And the prophet says: "In the last days" "after" "in the last days of this I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh." Say with me: "above all flesh."
Can you imagine this event? Can you imagine that God has an agenda to pour out His Spirit on all flesh? and you tell me: but Pastor, what happened on Pentecost? what happened in Acts chapter 2 on the day of Pentecost?
The Word says in Acts chapter 2 from verse 14: "Then Peter stood up and raised his voice and spoke to them saying: Jewish men and all you who live in Jerusalem, this be known to you and listen to my words because these are not drunk as you suppose since it is the third hour of the day, but this is what was said by the prophet Joel: and in the last days says God, I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your the old men will dream dreams, and on my servants and handmaids in those days I will pour out my Spirit and they will prophesy, and they will give wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood, fire and vapor of smoke, the sun will become darkness and the moon in blood before the day of the Lord comes, and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Let me tell you: the days of Pentecost, if the word "asharid" means event of the last days, last events, my question is: the days of Pentecost and the days in which we are living, which of the two are more last days? Our days are more last days than the days of Pentecost, our generation lives that after. Our generation lives this asharid. Oh brothers, I hope that fulfillment of God's agenda above all flesh, hallelujah.
And let me tell you: when the revival comes... when the revival comes, nothing more than secular, human will be needed. Our personal agenda will become God's plans when revival comes.
Secondly, brothers, we need revival because we are living dark days, days of uncertainty in the spheres of our society. We are living the last hour and let me tell you: Satan is furious, he is furious, do you know why? because he knows that God has an agenda to pour out His Spirit on all flesh.
And when the Spirit of God is poured out on all flesh, multitudes will convert to Jesus, entire villages will convert, entire nations will surrender to Jesus. And let me tell you brothers: it is a lie from the devil that most go to hell, it is a lie from Satan, God has a plan, God has a purpose and that plan will be fulfilled with revival. We are deceived that only a small group will go to heaven. God, my Lord will not lose this battle. Praise the Lord.
Daniel prayed for revival and the Word says that the people were experiencing a tremendous crisis, and in Daniel chapter 9 it was just the first year of King Darius and there was a tremendous crisis, and in chapter 15 Daniel can't stand that, and Daniel takes a position equal to the Lion of Judah Congregation. Nobody says amen (laughs).
And Daniel says: "Now Lord our God" verse 15 of chapter 9 "who with a mighty hand brought your people out of the land of Egypt and made for yourself the name which you have today, we have sinned, we have done impiously; O Lord, according to all your righteous deeds, now turn away your wrath and fury from the city of Jerusalem." Daniel is praying to the Lord, "turn away your anger and fury from the city of Jerusalem." How many times have you already prayed to the Lord? separate Your wrath and Your fury from the city of Boston and Your people is the reproach of all around us, now therefore hear the prayer of Your servant, and his pleas, and make Your Face shine upon Your sanctuary devastated for the love of the Lord incline, oh my God, Your ear and hear, open Your eyes and see our desolations, oh hallelujah.
"The city over which Your Name is invoked because we do not raise our prayers before you trusting in our justice but in your many mercies. Oh Lord, oh Lord forgive, listen Lord and do it not late for the love of yourself my God, because your name is called upon your city and your people." What a powerful prayer. I wish we could pray that every day. Lord have mercy on us, Lord pour out Your Power on this city.
Thirdly, brothers, we need revival because we are living that after, those last days, last days and the blackout of the lights of our history, of our generation. God is looking for men and women, men, women, children, God is looking for someone to put their footprints on this Earth, to mark this generation. God not only has the power to do, God is the Power. God is the Power.
God wants and is interested in us having a life beyond words, beyond beautiful services, right? beyond beautiful praises; I love praise, you know, right? and when I'm praising I forget everything, I forget everything, believe me. One day a brother asked me: Pastor, you are there jumping as you can, I said: brother because it is not for you, I love to praise the Lord, as the Dominican says: you already know, right? (laughs) I'm already learning brothers.
But let me tell you: all that is not more beautiful than the desire to build the Power of God. You can come here and make beautiful, raise your hands, dance, shout and you have nothing, and where is the Power of God?
Jesus himself said that the Spirit would come and revolutionize our life first. Before making an external revolution there must be an internal and personal revolution.
The Bible says in John chapter 7 that Jesus arrived at a party, John chapter 7 from verse 37 of the Word of the Lord, Jesus arrived at a party and it was the great day of the party, and Jesus stood up saying: "If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me as the Scripture says, rivers of living water will flow from their interior." Could it be that you and I understand what this Word says? "He who believes in Me" as the Scripture says, "from his interior will flow rivers of living water." If rivers of living water are not flowing from my interior or from your interior, it is because we do not believe in God as the Scriptures say.
In verse 39 he says: "This he said of the Spirit that those who believed in him were to receive, for the Holy Spirit had not yet come because he had not been glorified." In history my brethren of revivals, when these things happened they almost always produced results thanks to fervent believers, desperate for a life of personal prayer and intercession. There were also deep regrets in the heart.
Let me tell you: the day we have worship services here where people start saying, "I want to repent of my sins, I want to confess my sins" we are starting a revival.
In the history of revivals, when these things happened, the Church also went back to being what it should do according to the apostolic teaching. The Church of God was what was most longed for, more than movements, great multitudes are saved. The Word of God in John chapter 6 verse 8 says: "When He comes speaking in the Spirit, when He comes He will convict the world of righteousness, of sin, and of judgment."
The internal society changes, the big revivals always impacted the internal society. Some examples of revivals: John Calvin's reform was the main force that helped Europe develop and get out of its misery. The Methodist revival of John Wesley produced in England a movement for social justice that during industrialization and for the abolition of slavery, during the revival in Wales in 1904 and 1905, judges, policemen and many other authorities in cities and towns had no work because there was no more crime, there was no one to arrest, there was no one to judge.
Christianity was changed forever in the history of that country, in the history of South America and many Central American countries with what happened on Azzuza Street in 1902 or perhaps from 1906 to 1909, when the great revivals occurred, the great revival on Azzuza street in Los Angeles.
In 1966 the Ulus in South Africa experienced one of the greatest revivals in the history of the African continent. They read the Bible and read a Word in Isaiah 64 verse 1 to 3 almost every day, and the Word says: "Oh if I ripped apart the heavens and descended; And at Your Presence if the mountains poured down like blazing molten fire, fire that makes the waters boil so that you make your Name known to your enemies; and the nations tremble before your Presence when you do terrible things, which we never expected; you descended, the mountains flowed before you" Isaiah 64 verses from 1 to 3.
The Ulus prayed for years clamoring for revival. Until one day a group praying like we are going to be together on May 15, we will talk at noon, a group praying and God decides to fulfill His own agenda in the life of the Ulus and pours out His Power intensely on His people.
There was a field near the small Church where they were meeting and there was a small group of people playing soccer, and suddenly the players began to feel something: it was the Power of God like a cloud that covered the town, and the people knew: comes from this place. People ran in the direction of the place where the Power of God came from.
When your life is revived, when my life is revived, people will come and get close to us, they will feel something. I want to be close to that person, I want something different, there is something that is not common.
We need revival brothers because we are living days of spiritual drought. We ask God every day: Lord pour out Your Spirit right? we sing: "Come, Spirit, come" right, what else? "Glorify me, wash me" that is the verse that we sing softer. We sing hard: "Come, Spirit, come" and what else? "And fill me Lord with Your precious anointing" nice right? all anointed. "Purify me and wash me, renew me" do you know why? When that happens I have to go down, hallelujah. I have to repent, I have to leave the world, I have to leave the customs.
There are people who leave the world but the world never leaves them. It's true brothers. They come to Church as a rite. Sunday, 8:30, Church, service - praise, uh! hands up. The service ended: to the house. That is a ritual brothers, it is a rite and life with God, of repentance, of saying Lord I need you, that praise that we sing, the last one, what do you say? "Holy Spirit I need you" how nice right? "I need you, do you know why? Because when He comes He will change everything, everything.
Don't be content with imitations of revival. Seek authentic revival and an authentic spiritual life.
The story goes that the revival in the Hebrides Islands began with a young man who in a meeting decides to read Psalm 24. He says: "Who can go up to the Mount of God, who can go up to his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart that did not lift up his heart to vanity or swear falsely."
The story says that this young man closed the Bible looking at his Pastor and the other leaders of the Church, and says: it seems to me nothing more than that it is a deceit that we are here praying and raising our hands, what are we waiting for if there is no repentance , if we don't really know what we want? And let me tell you: a good place to start would be to ask God: Lord, send Your Power but revive me today. Pour out Your Power on my life, change my motivations, Lord change the reactions of my life.
Do you know how I realize that I am changing something, how I realize that my life is being changed? It's not when I feel a tremor and something happens in my life, it's not like that. Do you know how I realize that I am changing? It is when I manage to react positively or negatively to a circumstance or situation in my life, that is how we measure. Wow, I reacted differently, I'm changing.
In another situation I would respond to that person in a very harsh way and today is different, I am changing, God is acting in my life. Wow look, before I had a problem with the tithe, now I have my life free to donate to the Work of God.
Wow, before I had a tendency towards dirty movies, not now, now I protect my life in God. Wow, I had tendencies to look at somewhat dubious internet pages, not things, now I want to look at things that are holy and that lead me to a better commitment to the Lord, I am changing. So we realize that God is personally enlivening us.
Let me say: by your side there may be a person at that moment who is on fire, who has his life fully enlivened with the Lord. Hallelujah God.
Then ask the Lord: "Lord: are my hands clean, is my heart pure?" If you are desperate enough for revival you will receive your answer. Revival opens the way to authentic sanctification, growth, and grace conformed to the image of Jesus.
Did you know that there is a spiritual size, there is a spiritual height? The Bible says in Ephesians that this spiritual size is the measure and the stature of Christ Jesus, that is the size that we must measure.
And finally, some final questions and considerations. Do you want is revival? I ask you my brothers this morning, do you want revival? Do we want the power to go down?
Second: are you going to experience it? What are you going to do to experience that revival? If God asks you at this moment with an audible voice: Do you want revival My son, My daughter, what will you answer?
And if He were to ask again: My Son, My daughter, are you willing, are you willing to sacrifice everything? If God asked you in an audible voice today, are you willing or willing to sacrifice everything? what would you answer?
The other question that God might ask you this morning is: My son, My daughter, when do you want to start? when are we going to start? If you answer to the Lord: Lord I want to start today let me tell you, there are some changes that need to be made today, not tomorrow. Today.
And if you said: Lord, I do want a revival. Lord I long for a revival, I long for a fullness of Yours in my life, I want you to start today in my life, right now Lord, start in my heart. Is that how you would answer if God asked you those questions?
A sister told me today: Pastor, what you are going to preach today (she did not know the subject) is for me and let me tell you, it is for me. I am thirsty not for an idea, I am thirsty not for an idea, not for a movement but for the Power of God. How many want the Power of God this morning?
Stand up, I want to invite the worship team to come up here. Yes Lord, those of us who are standing before You are the ones who say: Yes Lord, I need you Lord, Holy Spirit I need you, pour out Your Power Lord, change Lord, change our lives, begin today Lord a desperate change in our lives.
Start praying right where you are, yes, talk to your Dad. Tell Him what you expect Him to do in you, but also tell Him: Lord, there are some decisions that I make this morning, some things that depend on me and I position myself this morning before You Lord for You to help me. to change in areas that need to be changed in my life, name the Lord. Give sin a name, don't give surnames, give sin a name.
Tell the Lord: here is my sin Lord, here are my tendencies Lord, here are my weaknesses, tell them to the Lord. He knows them but He wants you to tell them so He understands that there is a deep desire in your heart to change.
"And we need, and we want God, revive us, revive us."
