Summary: The Gospel of Matthew compares the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed that grows into a tree, emphasizing the virtue of small details in the process of growth and transformation. To achieve our dreams and visions, we must align our daily living with our calling and live intentionally with a sense of purpose. Personal transformation is crucial for success, and we have an ally in the Holy Spirit to help us possess our land, which includes our life, environment, family, finances, emotional life, and mind. Every day is a personal improvement project to become more like Christ and possess the earth.
God is with us in our pursuit of personal improvement and development. He provides the resources and energy needed for success. The process of self-improvement is long-term and made up of small moments and stages. It is important to understand the value of small gestures and details in our pursuit of greatness. The penny and million illustration shows the power of compounding small actions over time. The formula for success is small actions executed every day in the long term.
Small actions executed every day in the long term can produce amazing results. Start with something small and do it every day for a long time, and you will see what happens. For example, reading two pages of an encyclopedia every day can expand your knowledge over time. Similarly, small changes in diet and exercise can lead to significant weight loss.
It is important to name the giants in our lives and develop a strategy to overcome them. This could be anything from bad memories to mental dependencies to low self-esteem.
The Wright brothers' success in inventing the airplane is an example of the principle of continuous improvement. They spent years experimenting and learning from failures until they achieved their goal. This principle can be applied to our own lives, starting with small actions and continually improving.
The sermon encourages individuals to start with what they have at hand and to believe in small beginnings. The speaker encourages individuals to live their life focusing on the details and not be overwhelmed by the grandeur of the vision before them. The sermon emphasizes the importance of developing skills through exercise and to delight in making one's life a long-term heroic undertaking. The speaker encourages individuals to be specific with God and to declare the things of God specifically. The sermon concludes with a prayer for individuals to be patient and systemic in their daily lives and to align their daily experiences with their projects and visions of greatness.
Gospel according to Saint Matthew in chapter 13 verse 31 onwards. Remember brothers that we are talking about how to live a transforming life, a life in a perpetual process of development, how to live those fruitful lives of continuous ascendance, of continuous growth in terms of self-control, of continuous adding virtues and new resources that life that it looks more and more like Christ.
That life that, as we have said, according to the Word of the Lord, is like the light of the sun, says that: "The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that increases until the day is perfect" and we have framed everything that in terms of that idea of how to turn our dreams and our visions into reality, that is, the dreams that you have about your life, the dreams that you want to achieve in Christ, the things that you want to overcome, the difficulties, the tribulations , the limitations that you want to overcome and every day be more and more perfect, more and more like Christ Jesus.
And let's see what the apostle Paul also says, right? "My little children, for whom I travail until Christ is formed in you." In other words, the Christian life is a continuous process of formation in which we become more and more like Jesus as we add more and more details and more and more elements that resemble the power and virtue that Christ himself reflects.
So today I want us to emphasize one thing and that is the virtue of the small, the virtue of the small. Those small details that sometimes we don't meditate on much but that are absolutely necessary to have a fully encompassing life.
Matthew chapter 13. Notice how the Kingdom of God is conceptualized here as a small seed that grows until it fills a whole vegetable garden. It says: "The Lord told him another parable saying: "The Kingdom of Heaven is similar to the mustard seed that a man took and sowed on his way, which in truth is the smallest of all seeds but when it has grown" Look at three stages here, right? There is a stage of smallness or insignificance and then there is a process of growth, it says "When it has grown, it is the largest of vegetables" there is already a fullness that reaches that seed "and then it becomes a tree in such a way that the birds of the sky come and make nests in its branches."
Last Sunday we were talking about the alignment of our lives, right? We have said that to get to where God wants to take us there are a number of virtues that we have to add to our life and that it is a long-term process, and we have been disassembling different components. We can't just stay in the zone of conceptualization: "oh I want to do this, I want to do that, I want to achieve that" but we have to turn our visions into reality, we have to learn to execute the visions.
We have to name the things we want to achieve, we have to point out different components, right? we have to go from a general vision to a more specific project, devise a strategy, a way to achieve what we want, disassemble our projects in different components and then proceed to execute them little by little and how do we do this? one thing at a time right?
That idea of going systematically always with a goal in mind, always with a particular detail. We have to tackle the vision, not just be: oh I'd like to buy a house in five years or I'd like to be a professional, or have a blessed family, a prosperous marriage, whatever, but you have to say, ok how do I do that? ? and set a long-term goal for yourself and there are a series of virtues, of qualities that God wants us to acquire in order to achieve our goals throughout life because all of life is a project of continuous improvement, continuous growth, continuous overcoming defects , ties, difficulties, limitations, memories of the past, wounds all these things.
So we have to, God is going to put us through a life process that engenders in us a series of resources and attitudes: determination, energy, persistence, discipline, thinking systemically, seeking allies in our struggles and people who help us. support and be a resource for us, an ability to analyze where we are coldly, objectively without deceiving ourselves about where we are, our limitations, our responsibility in the struggles we are going through, not projecting failure and lack onto others: oh my parents who did not love me, who did not help me in this; the society in which I live, the unjust government.
You have to appropriate your situation and analyze it coldly and see the things that you have to do in your life, right? These are all things God is going to work with you to get you through these processes. Now many people wonder: well how can I acquire these things? How can I arm myself with that persistence, that dynamism, that ability to objectively analyze the situation in which I live? and that is where we have to align our life and know that it is a long-term process and that we have to live a life of intentionality where every day that we live we have to be thinking: I want to become that disciplined person, I want to get to be that loving, forgiving, generous person with others, capable of overcoming difficulties, capable of mastering life's boredom and monotony.
Many people, for example, are not successful because they have not learned to master simply that life is, 80% of life is monotony, frankly, and it is the people who master monotony and learn to move within it successfully that truly get where they need to be. arrive.
One wonders let's say a doctor: oh I would like to be a doctor and we romanticize the doctor, oh I would like to be a concert pianist and we romanticize the pianist up there playing gloriously in front of an adoring crowd. But behind that glory there are years of the pianist playing scales eight hours a day, playing the same piece until he dreams of it and gets bored with it, until his fingers learn it, not even his brain, his fingers learn the piece they He's going to play in front of the public.
The doctor will deal with corpses and biological models, study chemistry, study organic biology, organic chemistry or whatever all this is in order to reach the moment of culmination. Life is all monotony to a certain point and we have to learn to deal with it. The discouragement, the people who want to take some discipleship courses, well maybe there comes a time when it's not so attractive in the middle of winter when it's snowing and it's cold outside you put on your little clothes and go outside, take that bus and Arrive at Church until seven at night to take your discipleship class on Friday or go to your cell.
Many people don't feel like going because they just go, sit in the living room and turn on the television and forget about it. ?Knows? the person who is successful is the person who overcomes the sense of monotony, the sense of boredom, of doing the same thing all the time and says: no, I have submitted to a goal and I am moving on.
That is the person who lives his life aligned to what has been promised and what he has conceived that he wants to get to do and knows that getting to do something great requires that he live every day as a chosen person what I said last Sunday about aligning our daily living to our condition and to our calling. Every day you have to live as if: today I have to learn something new, today is an opportunity for me to read something to polish a skill a little more, to know a little more about the Word of God.
Yesterday I spent a good part of the day going over the Letter to the Ephesians. I have read that Letter about eight hundred times but I said: you know what? today I am going to dedicate myself to renewing my relationship with the Letter to the Ephesians and throughout the day while doing other things I took time to go chapter by chapter I stopped at two or three clear verses, I refreshed my memory on certain things, God spoke to me in ways news about that Letter and since I am a Pastor and I have to preach about so many things, this is a commitment that I have with that Word.
So I decided that day to take something specific and instead of wasting time on other things or simply legitimately perhaps relax with other things but I decided that today I can improve my knowledge of the Word, my preaching skills, my biblical analysis and I dedicated myself to that because I am a priest, I have to live my life according to my vocation, do you understand? and you have to do that in your life too.
Do you want to be a powerful and successful father? you have to read about family, you have to pray for your children, you have to pray for God to heal your own wounds. Oh, do you want to be a faith-filled woman and mentor to young people who are just starting out on their life journey? well you have to overcome your own difficulties, your limitations from your past, pray more. That is to say: each one of us is a priest, a king and we have to live up to God's call. Do you understand me?
If you want to improve your economy, then that means that every day you have to limit certain things. Instead of going to Marshall's and Shop till you drop you can just perhaps learn to economize, go to BJ's and buy your things there at BJ's or go to a store where they sell cheaper and start to organize your life, your economy to be able to pay your debts, buy that house that you promised yourself.
That is to say: in other words, many of us are not successful in our lives because we do not align our daily living and the details of our life with the call we have received from the Lord, so we waste so much time and live a life without purpose. In fact, this series that we are preaching could be called: a life with purpose, that is, the man, the woman of God who lives and that every minute counts as the Word says: "Redeeming time", amen? because the day is coming when no one can work as the Bible says: "Soon the night comes, time is to work."
Every day we have to live with something new, something different. Adding, growing, enriching, perfecting, polishing, overcoming a limitation is called aligning our life to our calling. That is to say: we have to live a life that reflects intentionality. Say that word with me: intentionality. Being intentional, living life with intention, with a sense of purpose, aware of how different aspects of our daily living relate to the greater life we have for our lives.
So you have to live lucidly, live focused on what you are after in your transformation into a powerful, thinking, disciplined, analytical person, in control of yourself and your appetites, that should be the project of your life, because of your transformation depends on your success in the future. intention, right? Your success depends on your personal transformation.
And God wants you to own your land, it is important that you understand that: that God is committed to you, that in your life of personal growth, growth, and personal improvement you are not alone in this project, you have an ally: the Holy Spirit , the Almighty God who says: I will be with you wherever you go, the Almighty God who says: I have given you all the land that the soles of your feet tread on, no one will be able to face you all the days of your life because I I have given you, I have given you the title of your land.
And what is your land? this that is here your life, your environment, your family, your finances, your emotional life, your mind those battles that you have to overcome and control because when we enter the ways of the Lord it is like the land of Canaan full of giants that They do not want to give us the land and we are going to have to fight and battle for those giants to give up the land.
When you enter the ways of the Lord, you enter with all kinds of limitations, as we have said before, imperfections, personality defects, bad mental and current habits, relationships that bind you in different ways and limit you, fears; a programming that the world has bequeathed to you and then when you enter the ways of the Lord the Lord tells you: now you and I are going to work and now we are going to form Christ within you, and every day of your life will be a personal improvement project as I say to look more and more like Christ.
Every day that you get up you have to see that day, that day is a little piece of land and that day you have to plant the flag of the Kingdom of God on that day and learn something new, overcome something, declare something, do a little bit of progress towards the greatness that God has destined for your life every day and in that process you are possessing the earth.
How long did it take the Hebrews to possess the land that God had already given them but now they had to conquer it in effect, right? So that's why we have to believe: God is with me.
That is an important principle that we have to isolate for a moment and remember that: the Lord commits. The Lord is like a father who says: you know what? Look, as long as you need something for your studies or for your cultural or personal enrichment, you have My help. I'm not going to help you get drunk or buy four cars or waste your money, but if you want to do something that it will enrich you and it will advance you in your career and in your life project. Count on Me I will help you in everything that is necessary.
If you need money to take that trip to Europe because it's part of your professional training, I'll give it to you because I can do it. If you want to go to a museum and you need the money to pay the entrance fee, I'll give it to you. If you need a car, not to be there womanizing making messes, but to go to school, to the university and educate yourself, you have that and likewise God says: everything you want to undertake so that Christ is formed within you counts on Me. I am going to give it to you, everything you want to do to grow and be a powerful man, a woman of God and be used for My Kingdom has the resources of heaven because they will be behind you to bless you and take you forward.
And it is important that we know that we are not alone in the project of self-improvement and personal improvement, we have all the resources of the Kingdom of God behind us and it is not just a matter of positive thinking and self-development and you know all these things , theories out there that often tell us what we have to do but we don't have the energy to unleash the spark of creativity in us; The Lord provides that spark, that additional energy that you need for the chemistry of self-improvement. God has it and God gives it to you because He has committed to you.
Now what I also want to say is that this project of self-improvement is a long-term project and is made up of constituent parts, stages of life, moments that you are going to have to live. God is going to accept you in your commitment to be a powerful man, a woman filled with the Holy Spirit, useful, creative and then he will say: ok now we are going to undertake a long-term process.
Do you remember that I have told you that God is a God of processes and that He takes us on journeys as He took Abraham on a journey, as He took Moses eighty years to form and prepare him to be the deliverer of Israel, as He formed Saul and first he put him there to educate himself in Judaism, to learn certain analytical skills, to be a very intelligent and educated man, a Roman citizen and all this and then he called him and sent him to be the great apostle Paul; God always takes us through different journeys to get us where He wants to take us.
May the dream that you have in your heart of being a great and powerful person come true but then you say: I am going to take you through different stages because I am a God of detail and you have to believe that everything that happens in your life from the moment you embrace the project of personal greatness and personal development everything that happens will be part of God's process and it will be different moments, you have to be alert to what each moment means in your life that you are living.
It may be a moment of great tribulation and great spiritual testing, but God will be using that moment to form in you patience, love, humility, meekness, dependence on God, compassion for the weak for others, the ability to advise, bless others, strengthen all those things that a man and a woman need to be a successful and happy person.
Think for example of Joseph that God gives Joseph a dream when he was a child and he sees his parents bowing down to him and he sees his brothers doing the same and he sees in that dream that he is going to be a great and powerful person and At the moment he declares the dream and recognizes it and God gives it to him, at that moment the process begins and the affliction also begins because the anger and jealousy of his brothers is unleashed, which leads them to put him in a hole and tell him his father was eaten by a wild beast, he was sold as a slave to Egypt, there God prospers him for a while but then he is slandered, they put him in jail, there God does certain things they forget about him and finally he is called before the Pharaoh's presence and he gets to where he has to go and finally God uses him to preserve his family when the famine comes.
So we see that: oh yes, God sowed greatness in that man but then he passed him through a series of processes and we then have to understand that everything that happens in our life is part of it. You always have to ask the Lord, as they say: not why do you allow this to happen to me, but why? what are you forming?
I always ask myself: ok God, what happened to me, why, what do you want? not in the sense of why me? but what do you have in this, what is the purpose of this, what can I learn? and you have to read in your life as if it were a spiritual book that is teaching you.
So God is a God of processes and God is a God of details, God is a God of moments, God is a God of lessons learned and God is a teacher who is not so interested in your comfort as in your sanctification, your perfection. Sometimes it will put you in the fiery oven and it will raise the temperature to 450 degrees and you will be there sweating the fat drop but you know what? that's part of melting away all that unnecessary fat in your life and that you can be dangerous and skinny like that, but when you hit it hurts because it's pure bone that's hitting. The filling of the Holy Spirit, the concentration of God in your life.
So God is going to happen to you God is a God of details and that is why I wanted to talk about this matter of small things, right? the virtue of the small, the specific because God has intentionality in everything through which He is going to happen to you. It is important that we understand that the great project of improvement through life is made up of small things and we have to identify those small things and we have to not underestimate the importance of the small in our life.
That gesture that you make today can mean something great. I have told them, for example, when I go to church in the morning I see an old lady, the mother of someone from the Congregation or something, you know what? My ethics is: I have to stop before that old woman who perhaps does not know how to read or write and I have to bless her and look at her face. A sometimes smelly wandering person from the street, that's one of my favorite clients, I have to go there and bless that person, do you know why? I want in my life, I don't always succeed, I tell you, to reflect the love, mercy, compassion and humility of Jesus Christ; I don't always make it, now that sounds great doesn't it? be a humble and generous person.
Well start there. Say hello to someone you don't like, say hello to someone who can't give you anything, say hello to someone insignificant, say hello to someone unpleasant, say hello to someone no one would give a second glance to and practice humility, generosity, no love? So that small gesture has huge implications, right?
That stocking that you left on the floor when you got up, don't wait for your wife to pick it up, pick it up and through that declare order in your life. Look at that piece of paper there right now there is a white piece of paper there that is taking away my blessing right now, you know? and that's why you'll see me many times I'm over there talking to someone and I do like this and I pick up that little piece of paper, you know?
My ethics is: I walk down a staircase and I see a piece of paper or a piece of cookie, I'm going to pick it up, then I wash my hands just in case, but I'm going to pick it up right then, you know? because I say: no, this is the House of the Lord, this is the Church, this is the temple of God, of the Holy Spirit, that means that this piece of paper is an offender and I have to remove it from there, it is an enemy that I have Right now I have to declare victory over him, right? you go to the Church bathroom: make sure that bathroom looks better when you leave than when you entered because you are a servant of God, a servant of God, do you understand what I am saying?
And you are declaring discipline, you are declaring attention to detail, you are declaring reverence for the Kingdom of God, you are declaring war against the disorder of the sinful world you live in, many great things that you are doing through one small gesture because the small is what serves as the basis for greatness, right? and in our pursuit of spiritual greatness we have to master the little things.
What does the Word of the Lord say? "Come good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a little, I will put you over much." Do you know what happens? that we do not understand this very important principle throughout life, that greatness is made of many tiny interventions. So there are people who want: oh Lord, take me to Africa, take me to the jungles of the Amazon to give my body there so that the natives fill me with arrows and I suffer for You and be a holocaust to Your Grace, I want to evangelize nations, I want to evangelize crowds and someone tells you: brother there is a little sister there who needs you to visit her and pray for her because she is in a crisis: oh no that is too small for me sister I have to go to Africa, I have to prepare to go to Europe and preach the Gospel.
And God says: You know what? If you can't attend to the small, I'm not going to put you on the big, right? you have to be generous in the small. When no one is watching, that's the time for you to do something great for God. When something is so minimal that it doesn't seem interesting and that it can be rewarding for your life, do that and then you will be exercising personal discipline, attention to detail, self-control, a number of things.
The greatness of the small that is one of the great truths. I have an illustration to share with the brothers this morning, the illustration of the penny and the million perhaps some of you have heard it before and of course you will know what it is. If I were to tell you right now I tell you, I have here a check with the bottom of a million dollars and a penny that is going to double every day for 31 days, which one do you want?
Perhaps many would say: wow, a million dollars of course, a million dollars compared to a penny that doubles every day for 31 days, do you know what happens, brother? that this penny doubling every day on the second day is 2 cents, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 etc. on day 31 you will have $10,740,000 dollars by virtue of the doubling of what is small, that is to say that if you choose the penny that doubles every day you come out much more advantageous than the one who chose the million immediately.
So, and you know who benefits from that? the virtue of the multiplicative what is called compound interest, the bankers. The bankers tell you, you know what? yes we are going to give you a house, we are going to give you a loan so that you can buy your house for 20 years and we are only going to charge you 4%, 5% interest, wow! awesome, you know what? that 5% interest for 20 years becomes 2 times the price you paid for the house so if the house cost you $250,000 that banker is going to pocket $500,000 before you pay him the $250,000 .
The virtue of the small and thus the insurance companies understand this very well, even the gambling houses understand this tremendously well, all the people of the world who have a shrewd mind understand that the tiny multiplied can do great things. In fact, that has led me through life to conceive a formula, I consider this a sacred formula for my life and all the projects that I want to do in my life I always use this formula that has already become part of my being, I don't even think about it anymore but it is very important.
I say: small actions executed every day in the long term give amazing results, produce amazing results, small things executed every day in the long term those three things are the key; start with something small and then do it every day and do it for a long time and you will see what happens.
If you read one page a day, for example, I'm going to read two pages of a computer article. Before, people had to have an encyclopedia that cost $800. Do you remember when they sold the encyclopedias that they sold for the home? I was not alive at that time but they tell me that it was like that, right? the British Encyclopedia, the American Encyclopedia and these people would come and they would get 18 boxes of encyclopedias, 500 pounds of books and you would put them there and read.
Today you go, here brothers there are about 50 encyclopedias, only encyclopedias. You can google anything you want, you can go to Wikipedia and if you say: you know what? Every day I am going to read two pages about some knowledge; one day it will be Europe, the Second World War, the history of Colombia, the beginning of Christianity, history of the Church, theology, whatever you want and start little by little. Don't worry if you don't read much for a week because you have been busy but do it little by little and you will see that in a year, two years it is amazing what you will have learned and how your mind will have enlightened and expanded .
Now that again requires that you align your life, you are saying: no, I want to be an understood person, I want to be an informed person, I want to be a cultured person, I want to enrich my intellect, I want to enrich my spirit, so when you assume that you then he disassembles it and every day reads a little bit of something.
Oh I want to lose 25 pounds because I'm too fat or whatever, okay. Start by simply eliminating one ladle with double cream and seven tablespoons of sugar for just one a day; take one or two but if you take three take one away and do it through six, seven months you will see how the ounces melt by magic from your body. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs from time to time, amen? take the clothes off that treadmill that you have there now to hang clothes and get on it and be scared seeing yourself run on it one day. If you can't do it tomorrow, come back the next day and start little by little.
I tell people: twenty minutes of exercise three times a week does incredible things, people say: no, I need to run 2 hours a day and they start and the next day they are destroyed and never run again; get on and walk a little bit and tomorrow walk a little bit more and say: throughout my life I am going to make sure that I take good care of my body. Instead of three chops I eat two, right? instead of adding sauce and cream and all these things to the cake, I eat it only and maybe from time to time a diet cake. Details, small things that create an amazing result.
There are people who have said that if you dedicate six months of your life every day to something, for example to some knowledge, you can become a world expert but it has to be consistent and in the long term, you can do extraordinary things.
The Bible is full of references to little things. It occurred to me, right? in Zechariah 4:10 it talks about: "Do not despise the day of small things" when the Hebrews were building the second great temple after the first great Solomonic temple and they began and it looked tiny and sad compared to the great Solomonic temple, that second temple was; The Lord told them: "Do not waste the day of small things, learn to respect the value of small things."
Jesus Christ was small, insignificant, the bible says he was "Unattractive for us to desire" in other words he was not a movie idol in His appearance he was an average common man in His appearance. If you saw him on the streets of Roxbury today or in the middle of Downtown Boston you might miss him but there was the total deity of God.
That insignificant baby born in a manger because there was no room for Him in a hotel in an insignificant village, in an insignificant country in the world, was God himself who was going to change the destiny of humanity through His death on the cross. Think about the insignificance of the cross and His death and remember that there the Lord dethroned principalities and powers and annulled the act of decrees that was contrary to us in a small thing like that, right?
It says that the Lord walked like a slave He became humble until death and death on the cross, it says: "For which reason God gave him a Name that is above all names so that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow of what is in heaven, on earth and under the earth. It started small and the Lord then raised it up.
And another example occurred to me here as I was in between the two services this morning. What does Paul say in First Corinthians about the early Christians? He says: look, you are not a highly developed or extraordinary community, there are no great professionals among you or people with a lot of money or a lot of authority, he says that God chose the small to embarrass the great and God chose the madness and foolishness of the cross to declare the Kingdom of God and to do the great things that He wanted to do.
Today Christianity fills the entire Earth and has given rise to the greatest artistic expressions in the universe and has been a driving force for humanity and has transformed nations and cultures and it all began with a tiny baby because God takes time, two thousand years He has been working on Earth in His project of restoration and creation and He delights in working through ordinary people like you and me to uphold the values of His Kingdom.
So we have to develop a deep appreciation for the little things and see how those little things are related to the big visions that we have conceived in our spirit. Always remember this: the continuous improvement project, improve, improve, improve your life. Don't worry about how long it takes you have your whole life to achieve the big projects and remember again: name them, be specific about it.
Ok my memories hurt me and limit me and depress me, name that giant and then develop a strategy with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to do that because that is hurting your marriage, it is hurting your relationship with your colleagues in work prevents you from undertaking great things because you have that brake there that every time you move is like a horse when its muzzle is pulled it hurts in the teeth because that memory slows you down, so name that memory and dedicate yourself to destroying it.
It could be a mental bondage, fantasies, mental dependencies, sexual things that bind us, it could be a relationship that you know is not good for you and that is damaging you in other areas of your life, it could be your marriage, as I have said, it could be your finances, it can be anxieties in your life, a tendency to be resentful, to resent authority, to seek revenge when they do it to you, they have to pay you, to believe that everyone is against you, low self-esteem; name the giant you want. Of all these things, many of us suffer from one, two, ten of those defects.
So don't just be content to say: Lord bless me. God says: ok how do you want me to bless you, where do you want us to start, which of all those giants do you want me to head off with you? and then submit to the Lord a life project and improve, improve, improve. There are things in my life that I have been fighting with for twenty years and I still have to take care of them from time to time. Now that does not mean that the power of God is less in me, on the contrary I believe that God glorifies himself in my struggle, my agony, my tears, my sweat, my bleeding before Him, my failures, my rising and in everything. He says: there is My son putting into practice everything that I have taught him and I rejoice in him and that is what God wants from your life too.
But you have to keep improving, improving and improving every day and know that you have all the time in front of you and if you die without having achieved glory to God because instantly then you will be perfected because your body will be glorified, your mind transformed and then yes you will be like Christ in an instant. It's good when life is a project of overcoming and when death arrives, he finds us with sword in hand cutting brush in front of us like a knight-errant warring against everything that is contrary to the Kingdom of God and what God has declared. about our lives.
What does the Word of the Lord say? It says that we have to take every thought that rises against the Name of Christ Jesus, every rebellious head and we have to submit it to the purposes of the Kingdom of God. Everything that you identify in your life, any area of your life: behavior, attitudes, whatever you say: this is not configured with the excellence and greatness of the Kingdom of God, name it a giant and put a label on its forehead and throw the biggest and most powerful stone that you find in the Name of the Lord because everything that is contrary to the Kingdom of God and its excellence is your enemy and you have to attack it in the Name of the Lord in your life.
When you take something small and flawed and continually improve it, you end up with something truly great, great isn't it? this is part of those small actions executed every day in the long term. I end with this illustration.
I don't know how many have heard about the history of the Wright brothers, there is a project for you when you go home, search for the Wright brothers on Google, it is also in Spanish, do you know that Wikipedia, for example, is in Spanish? It's in Italian, French, whatever language you want, there's no excuse, today we can all learn something. The Wright brothers, two brothers, undertook the project of inventing a machine that could fly, an airplane, and they spent years doing experiments, they dedicated their whole lives to that.
After a while they quit their job, they quit everything because again: part of the approach and they just did experiment after experiment, read everything they could about aerodynamics, dealt with different types of materials, actually moved to a part from the North Carolina country where there was an area of appropriate winds for what they wanted to do, sand in case they crashed to make the landing soft; they dedicated their life, many experiments continuously experimenting because that is part of it, right? continuous work, improve, learned from failures. You always learn from everything.
If you try at first and it doesn't work, then get on the horse again and keep going, you fall: wipe your knees and keep going. That is the principle of science indeed. The scientific principle is that: experiment a lot, fail a lot and keep improving, improving, improving until you reach your goal.
So these men spent many years experimenting and searching for a machine that could fly. And his first success, there is a day that is considered to be the first flight of an airplane and if we look at that day it is actually very painful in a very humbling sense. That machine was a glorified box, it was a drawer, it's made of sticks and wood and it flew a few hundred meters that was all, it did like that it went up a little bit and boom it crashed again but it was held in the air for a while and it was heavy a few dozen pounds, I don't think it even reached 100 or 200 pounds, very small and traveled, as I say, a very small space and that was all, but that is considered the day aviation began in the world.
That was like in the 30s I think now we are in 2013 almost at 14, eighty years later let's say what has happened in that time? Today think of another plane, the Airbus 380, A380 is already flying in different parts of the world right now. That A380 plane that you see there is an airplane that is almost ten stories high, okay? It's a building and its length from nose to tail is the size of a football field, football we're talking about, it's almost three times the size of this building from end to end here and it weighs hundreds of thousands of pounds and It travels at almost the speed of sound, .85 mac, and can travel from New York to Hong Kong without refuelling.
Okay? now compare that extraordinary and glorious machine with that humiliating principle of the Wright brothers and visualize that your life is like this, the project of your life is like this; maybe right now you are worse than that little plane, I hope I'm not insulting anyone right now but that's how we can be. This morning we could not do it in the 12 o'clock service and I think we are going to do it next Sunday we are blessing the homeless people that God has been forming here in León de Judá in the ministry and I encouraged my brothers who are now in difficult economic situations as well as them who have nowhere to live and you can imagine what it would take for that person to get out of the trap of not having a home.
And all the flaws and injuries that have contributed to this painful situation, how does a person come out of years of being homeless and wandering the streets to be a person who has a house and has a job and can function in his life? It's a worse project than the Wright brothers but guess what? God is more than powerful to do it, God rejoices in impossible things. Perhaps your depression right now seems almost impossible to overcome because you have been suffering from it for 40 or 50 years: God is with you, God can give you the answer.
That little box can fly at 30,000 feet. Perhaps no one in your family has ever graduated from university and you are now 30 years old and you say: how am I going to start studying? God can do it. You can learn English, you can take your GD, you can learn the skills that you didn't get because maybe you didn't graduate from high school but you have to go piece by piece, start with what's on hand, what's on hand.
The Lord always asks people: What do you have at hand? When God sends Moses to speak to Pharaoh and tell him: Let My people go out and Moses has been waiting eighty years for his moment and forty of those years he has been stuck in the sands of the desert and his self-esteem has been destroyed and he says to him: Lord, I don't I can I am a stutterer, this and that and exasperated God says to him: But what do you have at hand? well, I have a stick, well, take that stick, throw it on the ground and the stick turns into a snake, now take it, it turns into a stick; Put your hand in your side, the hand comes out full of leprosy, now put it in again, it comes out clean. With these two signs, go to Pharaoh and tell him: I am sending you. They were in his hand, the answer was in his hand.
After that, a long-term process begins, Pharaoh says yes, then he says no, the plagues come, the persecution of his brothers comes, the people's complaints come, but finally one day the people leave and the process still begins; forty years in the desert until they enter the Promised Land because God is a God of processes and you have to start with what you have at hand.
You have to believe that this great and impossible and inconceivable thing difficult to undertake God and His power in you, the Word of God in you, the principles of the Kingdom of God in you, the continuous prayer, the obedience to the Word of the Lord are become a tsunami that nothing can resist, it will level everything before you until you reach the goal that God has established in your heart.
Believe in small beginnings, live your life thinking about the details, don't be overwhelmed by the grandeur of the vision that is before you; believe in the God who delights in details and processes. He does not want to simply give you a result because if he gives you a result you are not going to learn anything from him, he wants you to develop skills through exercise because he wants to create a powerful man, a woman filled with the Holy Spirit capable of using the truths of the Kingdom of God and to bring glory to His Name every day because every day he becomes more and more like Christ Jesus. And with that Christ within him or her nothing can resist.
We are going to stand up for a moment and I want you to receive that Word in your spirit at this moment and ask yourself: Father, where is the beginning of my journey, where is the end of that long thread that I have to follow until I arrive to your destination? and throw yourself day by day, start taking notes in your life, write things down, be specific with God, present him with specific tasks.
God says: ok what do you want me to do for you? to take away your blindness, to soften your heart, to put strength in your legs, to heal your memories, what do you want me to do? and then ask the Lord one thing at a time, write down all the tasks ahead of you, and then delight in seeing the Lord deliver all those things to you throughout your life and delight in making your life a long-term heroic undertaking, a long-term undertaking. adventure of the Spirit and reflect more and more each day the greatness of Christ Jesus and bring delight to your Heavenly Father who will be watching your plot from His Throne and delighting himself saying: that is my daughter, that is my son; I designed him, I trained him, I taught him, I discipled him, see him applying the Truths of My Kingdom.
Receive now in the Name of Jesus the call of God in your life. Father: we are going to be specific people, we are going to be detailed people, we are going to focus day by day, we are going to declare the things of God specifically, we are not going to be content with generic statements, we are going to appreciate the details of life, we are going to live life intentionally; We are going to link our days to our destiny. We are going to see the project of life as something long-term in which our God is eminently involved. There will be no failures in my life, but rather experiments from which I will learn and use as steps towards greatness.
I am not going to question the complexity of Your processes, but I am going to embrace everything that You bring into my life and I am going to use it as raw material for the greatness that You want to develop in my life and even in my sufferings, in my sufferings. I will find potential to be more like Christ who was made perfect through His sufferings. So I receive Lord this afternoon Your Truth, it begins with me Father who preach it and help me to put into practice Lord what I declare and to each one of my brothers.
Help us to make a specific, patient, systemic community in its things; complete in her life, aligning her daily experience with her projects and her visions of greatness Lord and thank you because you have committed yourself to us, day by day we will walk until we reach the supreme call of Christ Jesus, we thank you Lord, we adore you and we bless you thank you Mister. In the Name of Jesus and the people of God say: amen God bless you my brothers the grace of the Lord be with you, amen and amen.
