Summary: The speaker discusses the concept of independence and asks if we have declared our independence from the empire of the enemy. He references Colossians 2:13-14, which talks about how Jesus Christ forgave our sins and annulled the record of the decrees that were against us. The speaker emphasizes that we are free because Christ made us free and we depend on Him, not the world. He encourages us to act as free children and not live in fear of the enemy, as nothing can subdue a child of God who has declared to be free. The speaker concludes by reminding us that the Lord signed the decree of our independence and we should declare our freedom loudly.

I thank the Lord for the opportunity to be with you today and I want to invite you to open your Bible to the book of Colossians, chapter 2, verses 13 and 14. How many went to see the fireworks on the 4th of July when it is celebrated the day of the independence of the United States? Most of us are born in other countries. Do you remember when your country's independence day is? Yeah? They enjoy it there, isn't it true, they eat all the typical meals that day and the next day they feel guilty for having gained a few pounds. It is interesting to be able to understand this issue of independence, but I was reading on a social media portal and a concept about independence caught my attention. It was written in Spanish and it spoke a little of the feeling that affected those who were being colonized by the British Empire in those times.

There came a time when the British empire began to do so many things that there was a group of people around this nation, here in these areas, who began to declare some things until in the end they decided to separate, become independent from the British crown empire. It was interesting because among the things that this little statement that I read said, it said, 'we no longer want to depend on the economy that you dictate to us, we no longer want you to tell us how we should live and politically assume this nation. We no longer want to depend on you in what are the military terms. We no longer want to have your religious concept from you, we want to become independent." To the point that at the end of the statement he says, "deep down, if you don't want us to make our wishes come true, then we are going to cut off relations with you. .'

And so this all began to take shape. And so the time of independence began to unfold for this nation in a nutshell. My question is regarding this, have you declared your independence? And that caught my attention. Have we really declared our independence? When did we do it, how did we do it, who did we do it with, why did we do it? Is it dated the day you declared your independence?

And it strikes me that many, while still in the church or in the ways of the Lord, are still tied to the empire of the enemy. And they have not yet realized that Jesus Christ paid the price on the cross of Calvary for your freedom, for your independence.

He told the devil, 'I am going to do this because I believe that there are many who do not want to live under your domain.' He signed the letter of independence for us, in blood. And it led me to a Bible verse in the book of Colossians, chapter 2, verses 13 and 14, it says:

“… And you being dead – we were dead, therefore if someone is dead, they can be passed over, any kind of rules are imposed on them, they have to accept – dead, in what? In sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh…”

Forgiveness, he says, "... and you being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh he gave life together with him, forgiving you all sins - look at this part that caught my attention, verse 14 - annulling the record of the decrees that there was against us that was contrary to us, taking her out of the way and nailing her to the cross..."

Wow! I thought the amen was going to be bigger. Do you know what the Lord did? I began to investigate a little what it was in simple words, this act of decrees. And it has to do with a summary of all the transgressions and sins of which we were accused.

In these times we are being or having attention on the news because of so many public trials against well-known people. And entire days, hours are spent, exposing the defense lawyers, the prosecutors who accuse, exposing for weeks, for days, for months, for years, at the end the judge comes and begins to read in summary form to give his final verdict, the why of each one of the sentences and the faults that the defendant committed.

The record of the decrees has to do with that, with a detail of all our transgressions that prevented us from having a fluid relationship with God. Jesus Christ did not come to earth to disavow the 10 commandments, Jesus Christ came to earth to put a stop to the enemy because of sin. If we were guided by the law, if we broke a rule of this law, we became sinners or transgressors of the whole law. But Jesus Christ came to fulfill the law and through that fulfillment, despite our sins, we can enter the process of independence from the spirit that he wants for us.

I am struck by this concept of independence, it is to begin to make our own decisions, to take our own risks. I imagine that this nation in its beginnings made mistakes many times, trying to do its best to create what is today the United States of America, declaring and claiming the rights that corresponded to it.

The mission of Jesus Christ for us, do you know what it was when he came to earth? It was to die for each one of us so that we could have the option to leave the empire of the sin of death to a state of life and abundant life and eternal life and new life. The enemy came for what? To steal, to kill and to destroy. There are many that the enemy always steals their blessing, kills their hope, and destroys their desire to be happy.

But I have come, says the word, so that they may have life and abundant life. There are some of us who are still living or thinking that the empire of sin, the empire of the world and what they want to impose on us as a model of life, we cannot fight and we have to bow our heads and walk because everyone is walking there.

I want to tell you that in the sacrifice, on the cross of Calvary, that day the act that bound us, that subjugated us to what the devil wanted to do with us, was annulled. Understand one thing, you are free because Christ made you free.

How many are free? Ask your brother if he is free. The record of the decrees that weighed on us was a book that recorded every fault, every sin, because the wages of sin is death plus the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus, our Lord. The Lord's work was not to take away the law of God, but the sin that was in the way of our relationship with God. And so the promise is fulfilled, it says in Isaiah 43:25, “I am the one who blotted out your transgressions.”

I don't think that if the economy is good, you're going to be fine. Don't think that if this country's economy is bad, you're going to be bad. You think that the only one who manages your economy is the Lord and in good times and in bad times, you are independent of what happens to the world, you depend on the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

So now is not the time to live subjugated to the enemy, he made us free to sing, to jump, to shout, to dance. He made us free to sing, to shout, to jump, to dance, to declare, because in him we have life.

The Lord is faithful. When the act of decrees was upon us, it affected not only our lives but our families, yet many of us came to the Gospel bringing generations of sin upon us, which weighed down on us. Even some of us have probably declared about our generation some things that we should cut because the Lord brought freedom and authority to do so.

It is time that we act as free children and not yet act in fear of what the world, of what the devil is plotting for us. The word of the Lord says that hell will not prevail over the church of the Lord. He is saying that there is nothing in the world, there is nothing in the spiritual spheres, in heaven or below on earth, that can subdue a child of God who has declared to be free.

Let's not behave like condemned because he already paid the price for us. If then you have risen with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. If then you have risen with Christ, seek the things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your sights on things above, not on things on earth, because you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Do you know when we started? The day we open our hearts to the Lord, that day we take the promise, when the Lord rose from the dead, we live in the generation of those of the resurrection. Those of the resurrection experience new life, those of the resurrection experience abundant life, those of the resurrection experience life of salvation, of forgiveness. Those of the resurrection experience the independence that he paid for us with the price of blood.

Don't let anyone steal your blessing. Do not let the spiritual Midianites come, when Gideon was tired of this Midianite people, that when Midian came he took everything away, left him with nothing. Many of us still come these spiritual Midianites, get up, because the God who is with you is much stronger, he who is with us is stronger than he who is in the world, in him we are more than conquerors, in him we advance, advocate we have with the Father Jesus Christ, the just. So if you are independent of the world, if you are independent of the system of sin, then start declaring your freedom loudly, let people hear that you are free.

Not even religion can impose itself on you. Smile at your brother next to you and analyze his smile. Good is God, good is the Lord. Let's not live like slaves in the midst of a free society.

The Lord did not come to make an insignificant sacrifice, he came to make a great, significant sacrifice for you, because he cared about you, because you had value for him, because he did not want to see you continue to suffer, because he did not want you to continue shedding tears of blood , because I wanted you to get out of your depression, because I wanted you to get out of your illness, because I wanted you to get out of your lack of happiness. He came and did it for you to give you what he has, which is happiness, joy, healing, forgiveness of sins, love.

God loves you. God loves you. Never forget it. God loves you. He signed the decree of your independence and told the devil, "you no longer have authority over him, over her." You are free. Thank my Lord.

Can you stand up for a moment? Even at this time where we see countries that seem to be independent and are subjugated to the economic imperialism of many other developed nations, our countries that are underdeveloped, unfortunately most of Latin America live subjugated to the economic empire and do what the great powers want and while in some places 1% of the population has the money of almost all the inhabitants of the earth, there is a high percentage in our nations that live in poverty because our countries in the political area have never made their independence clear.

Sometimes we live subjected and subject to concepts of imperialism of the enemy towards us. Look what you did before, look how you were, you can't be so perfect now. Do not forget where the Lord took you from, that right there you can return. And we live with those things in our lives and we pay attention to them, forgetting that the Lord nailed the document that accused us to the cross.

It is that at some point you are going to fall, it is that at some point you are going to stumble and we begin to be afraid. The giant comes and begins to shout, to see who your God is. The document that accused us was nailed to the cross of Calvary, it was destroyed, that is why there is freedom to sing, to jump, to dance, and to shout, and to say glory to God, and to say Hallelujah! And to give shouts of joy because we do not live under the empire of death or sin, because the Lord brought life and freedom. Hallelujah!
