Summary: The speaker talks about how the church can be an instrument of God's word and how individuals can be a voice of hope and comfort to those around them. He references the story of Esther and how she was strategically placed by God to save her people. He encourages everyone to see themselves as Esther and to not waste opportunities to be a blessing to others. He ends by blessing the audience and encouraging them to affirm their belief in Jesus.

We represent communities and streets and neighborhoods throughout this region. I am sure that there are people here right now not only from Boston and the surrounding communities, but we have people who live in Lawrence, in Brockton, Rhode Island, the ends of Worcester, Springfield, Salem, even New Hampshire and we have people from Europe. right now that they visit us here, that they need a lot of the Lord in passing also in this time especially of great financial crisis and great perplexity, there are many people who are suffering and we also condole with our brothers in Spain who are also going through a terrible economic crisis.

But we represent the fingers, the Voice of God, that God can take us to all those places where we live and God can make you an instrument of His Word. Some heartbroken person, some traumatized person, someone who is rebellious because they feel like God does not exist, has disengaged and why does He allow so much evil to exist in the world; we can be a voice that informs the community of how to view these traumatizing moments.

You can be a hand that rests on a feverish head and say: peace of the Lord on your life. You can be of advice to a young mother who fears about the future in which her children will grow up. You can be a word of blessing to the doctor in the house where you work, perhaps cleaning the house, or cooking, or taking care of the children, and right now, perhaps that person was there operating on a battered body and also thinks that everything is science, biology, and not there can be well embodied and personal in a world so neurotic and so meaningless.

You can be that person humbly that, like so many passages of Scripture, there was a humble servant or someone who said to someone: hey, there is a solution to your problem, as happened with Naaman the general leper, that a Hebrew slave told him: do you know what ? you can be healed and in Israel there is a prophet who can heal you. We can be that person.

We can be a teacher who incarnates the goodness of Christ with a little boy who one day could become this terrorist and that we inoculate him with a word of love and that we put Christ in his heart, and that the devil when he goes looking sees the seal of the Cross on his forehead and have to pass by. That we can be my brother.

Can you imagine what would happen if this Congregation were activated as fiercely militant people wherever we go? with a single identity, servant of God before worker, professional, housewife, student; first servant instrument of God.

Yes 'first responders', that is, a person who is there to respond. When the Lord says: Whom shall I send? there is so-and-so in Dorchester, there is my daughter in Roxbury, there is my servant in Mattapan or in Cambridge, or at Mass General Hospital or at Harvard, or a professor who is there looking for God and does not know how to get out of the intellectual tangle you are in, and a humble and simple Word from a child of God can remove the spell and open your mind to the Word of God. That's us.

I specifically thought I'm not even going to read it but do you remember the story in the Book of Esther when Ahaan, a demonic being with a hatred for God's people seemed to have gotten away with getting permission from the King to exterminate the people? Hebrew wherever it was found? It seemed irrevocable and it was irrevocable in a sense that permission that the King had given him for the destruction of the entire nation. And the Jewish people knew that they were under an edict of irrevocable death and there was no legal solution because the King could not go back on his decree, there was no one to intercede for them.

But there was a woman, a young girl whose only gift was a God-given physical beauty and a pure, Lord-fearing heart, and God had strategically placed her in the King's palace like a benevolent time bomb so that when she arose the Word of destruction there would be a Word of preservation. And Esther was not a theologian, she was not a preacher, she was not an intellectual, she was simply a simple woman like Mary because God likes to choose simple people who had a proper heart towards God and were at the right time at the right time. accurate.

And when his uncle Mordecai found out what was happening, he sent a message to Esther, and Esther was only looking at her limitations. She said: yes, ok, they are going to kill my people, but first: the King has already given the order and there is no going back. Second: I cannot appear before the King unless the King previously invites me, and if I enter his chamber without permission I am still under a death edict. And Mordecai said to her: Esther, if you don't speak up, the refreshment and the solution will come from someone, another person and you're going to lose the opportunity.

Why brothers? is what I say. God is always in control ultimately, God is not going to allow death to triumph over life or darkness to triumph over light; There may be a moment when you look at that frozen moment in time and it seems like the devil has had his way. That people condemned to extermination would have perished at that moment as now we look over this city and say: wow terrorism, death, violence, we are hostages of the devil in this world.

But you know what? behind the scenes the Lord is preparing a way out and God is using the sometimes very murky, inexplicable mechanisms of history to weave a narrative of blessing at the end. Because look at us three thousand and some years later celebrating that event in which God has taken tremendous advantage as a story of hope and triumph.

And Mordecai told him: if you don't speak someone else will speak and you will miss the opportunity. And who knows if God hasn't put you there for a moment like this. Brother, I am sure that God has put you, has put us in the city for a moment like this. We are in one of the most strategic cities in the world. President Obama stated that in very eloquent words: Boston is a relatively small city but it has an exceptional concentration in the world of great universities, the best hospitals in the world, some of the best art and music centers, high technology, rich in history. , rich in all the physical beauty of New England with a worldwide community coming here for spiritual nourishment like that young woman who was murdered by these terrorists, a young Chinese girl who by the way sees how important it is that the Church of Christ be a point of light in the world.

That young Chinese girl who was killed was reached by two Christian ministries. That doesn't make much of the news but Intervarsity is a Christian organization that does a lot of work with university students and it is reported that Intervarsity ministered to this young woman and that she attended their meetings, a Chinese. Not only that, but Park Street Church, an American Church in the city of Boston, she attended that Church as well. And Park Street Church has a wonderful English as a Second Language ministry and they also use that to evangelize a lot of people.

And God knows what other stories are out there about hope in the midst of darkness and the Church of Christ being used in these extraordinary ways to bless the nations. Church of Christ: You are Esther, I am Esther. Tell yourself: I am Esther. In the city, in the nation, in our community. God has given you a talent, a gift; young, girl you don't think you have nothing to give but wow, God has something for you. God can use you as a housewife, an uneducated person, an undocumented immigrant. God can use you.

You are a bullet in God's benevolent and merciful revolver. The Lord does not use it to kill, God uses it to destroy the darkness, the powers. And you are a projectile of good. When you crash into a life in need, the Grace of God in you will explode in that heart and fill it with life. Look at yourself that way, don't waste opportunities, keep your eyes open to see how you can be a blessing; your mouth is always ready to utter a word of hope, comfort someone. Your mouth is always ready.

Here are young people reaching people I can't reach. You guys, maybe you come from a destructive background, maybe you left your gun at home to come to León de Judá this morning and you know what? God can then use you to reach a bargain; it can use you to reach a person who could be a terrorist one day. I can't do it but you can do it; you are Esther configured by God.

The devil is configuring you to destroy but God can use that same disastrous configuration to be a blessing in the area where you have moved. Maybe you go to the clubs on Saturday night and come here on Sunday. Well one day the Lord is going to take you out of the clubs but when you are in the club tell someone to come here too and be used by God in some way.

You can be an agent of good in what God completely rebuilds you share the Gospel with someone, what you can; If you have a little piece of bread, give that little piece of bread, okay? until God gives you an oven to make a lot of bread and give it to everyone He wants in his time but we are agents of grace and God's mercy. And these situations brothers I tell you simply: I have no doubt in my heart that God has allowed it for something very, very powerful and other times of suffering and earthquakes will come, and many other things but everything will be grace of God always using this fallen world to create life, God is in the business of restoring creation and we are part of that precious drama. Don't miss out, don't miss out on that privilege.

And above all, do not miss the privilege that one day at the end of time, you will be one of that multitude that is glorifying the name of the Lord. A crowd says that whose sound will be like the waters of the sea declaring holy, holy, holy, Jehovah of Hosts, full is the Land of His Glory.

May the Lord bless you and how nice it is to be part of a redeemed generation, a family that God is using for great purposes. I bless you in the name of the Lord, there in your heart affirm again your belief in Jesus and if you do not know Christ tell him: Lord, open my heart to You, that I can know and understand you, that I do not waste that opportunity that You You give me now in this life to prepare me for the next, making Christ my boat, making Christ an instrument to reach the Father.

I bless Your people Father, dismiss us from here on a note of victory Lord, on a note of triumph, glory and hope, we are not helpless. On the contrary, you have something wonderful for us, we thank you Lord Jesus, we bless you. Amen and amen, glory to the name of the Lord. Brother, may the inexpressible grace of Christ Jesus be with you on this day, I bless you in the name of the Lord and we bless our city, amen and amen.
