When we hear the word of God we have to believe it and I want to know this afternoon if you are going to believe the word, because if not I don't even preach, let's all go eat and see who invites. Because preaching in the midst of a people who do not believe, it is better not to preach. Because Hebrews, chapter 11, verse 6 says that "without faith it is impossible."
Look, we are not going to achieve it, without faith it is impossible to please God. Hey, but if I sing beautifully, yes, but if you don't have faith it won't work for you. Hey, but you can't imagine what I serve, the effort I make. But if you don't have faith it doesn't work for you. Hey, but I scribble, I jump, I hop, I have a ratchet. It's not useful. Hey, I'm a duck or a coot, either.
I liked, I liked the ratchet thing. I have Dominicans there at the Bible school and I am going to find them now and I say, my son, you make me like a ratchet, I am going to tell him. But you know, without faith impossible.
That is why it is necessary that he who approaches God believes that he exists. And you know what? That he is a rewarder of those who seek him. It means that when we seek God, do not come like that with your hands in your bag or not taking anything with you, because when you seek God, prepare for God to surprise you and fill you with blessings, because he is a God who gives.
Notice if we look at the Scripture and look at the figure of Abraham when he sends the servant to look for a wife. Ah, I love that chapter because it's romantic, but I love it. He sends for a search and Eleazar goes out to look for the wife and says that the servant took selected gifts from his lord's house to bring him to the beloved.
As soon as he saw Rebeca, he began to drop bracelets, earrings, gold things, he began to drop chosen gifts. Look, every time the father meets the beloved, every time you come into the presence of the Lord, the Holy Spirit, the servant begins to drop chosen gifts from the Father's house for you. Because? Because he is a rewarding God. We need to believe.
How much do we believe, how many of those here have promises that they are waiting for? Don't say amen to me, raise your hand, I want to see the hand. I want the sky to take pictures of it, because the sky is taking pictures of it. Raise your hand because sometimes the angel is late. Promises, are you waiting for them? Well, then this afternoon you need to believe, believe, believe.
You know, I am walking today, I am 44 years old, you are not going to say anything to anyone. I am 44 years old, but today in my life I am walking in promises that God gave me when I was 12 years old. I grew up in a prophetic ministry, a man of God that I have never seen again, someone who moves with that level of anointing, an American, an American brother, he was a pastor in Argentina, I was a girl, the first, in My family no one knew the Lord.
I remember in a cult, in a service I was in a little corner, it was a rectangular church and I was there in the smallest corner, and it was a Friday and before the meeting, this brother is about to start the cult, who was my pastor, and he stands behind the pulpit and wants to start preaching and I saw him, and I say, what's wrong with this one? He couldn't speak, in that he leaves the pulpit -I was 11, 12 years old- he runs down from the platform, he runs, looks for me among the chairs and stands in front of me and tells me, the Lord tells you, that he will take you far , it will take you to another nation, you will leave your parents, you will leave your mother, and you will leave your friends, and that nation will be your people. And in that nation you will know me and see my glory, and I was 12 years old. And no one in my family knew the Lord.
Do you know what I did? I came home to pack a suitcase. You know the beating my mom gave me. I believed God. God told me, go away and I was leaving. In fact, when I had to go to Bible school, I mentioned something yesterday, my father pulled a gun at me. My father is an Italian who always carries a gun, to this day. Cristiano, he has faith in God but he takes it here.
And always carry a knife and fork. In case anyone has any doubts, I tell them that I'm going to eat a barbecue, he tells me. But the day I was going to Bible school, my father stood in front of me and pulled out his gun, his teenage daughter, and he told me, I prefer you as a prostitute. Dad, if you're going to have to shoot, shoot, and I'm not lying to you, in what I'm telling you, but I'm leaving because the Lord is calling me.
I don't know about you but when God speaks to me, I believe him. And now that I am in my forties and that I am living the promises that God gave me at the age of 12, he took me to Mexico and has made Mexico my nation. My children are Mexican. I return to Argentina and I feel like a foreigner, where my land should be, because I have a [inaudible] face, I speak like a Chilean, because God gave me that land within me. Do you know why? Because what God said fulfills it. That's why this afternoon I tell you, we need to believe God.
If God told you that he was going to do a work in the life of your children, what do you have to do? believe him. Do not ask how or when, he reserves the how and when. He reserves the time and the way to work, but he's going to do it, he's going to do it. Because he is not a man to lie, he will do what he said.
Know what? We have had the habit, and well, the Lord is going to do it. And we act like the promise is far away. Excuse me, but we are living in times where it took our spiritual parents 30 years to see, in our generation, mine, is seeing it in 10 and let me tell you that my children, and my spiritual children, are going to see it in 5, and my grandchildren, they will see it in 3, and my great-grandchildren in less, due to the times we are living.
It is the time of the fulfillment of the promise. Look, they're getting really excited about the new building. Get ready because God is going to put you to work. Look pastor, the amen came down.
Hebrews 11:6, I want to talk to you this morning about how related is what you believe to your behavior. If I had to put a title to my message I would put it 'The relationship between faith and conduct'. How what you believe determines how you act.
Sometimes we don't believe God and we don't act because we don't believe. We have such little faith, such a little level of faith, that we don't believe it, so our actions are based on the little faith we have. When the Lord is just going to mention it, when the Lord spoke to Abraham, he told him, get out of your land and from your relatives. After many things it says that the Lord spoke to Abraham again and said, Abraham, do not be afraid. Genesis chapter 15, do not fear, Abraham, I am your shield, and your reward will be exceedingly great.
What is something big? Let's see, do me like this with your hand. What is something big for you? By the way, you wake up the one next door. Now I am going to ask you another question, what is something extremely big? Now I am going to ask you another question, what is something exceedingly great in the mind of God? It doesn't fit us here.
Imagine God told Abraham, do not be afraid, I am your reward, that is, I am your gift and what I am going to do with you is going to be exceedingly great, it is going to be beyond what you expect. I imagine that if God spoke to you like that you would be on the chair shouting, wow, how tremendous. You would go outside to shout, wait, stop everyone, God will do great things with me. But what do you think Abraham did? And that was not from Boston. Do you know what Abraham did? He said, Lord, I understand everything you're saying, but how are you going to do it? You don't realize that I'm old, and look at Sara how she walks, and I don't have children, and all I have is a deer. It will be that you are going to do it there.
So God tells him, Abraham, come out. Why do you think God told Abraham, come out? Because? Let's see, someone tell me. Why do you think God told him to come out? What do you say, pastor? To expand your vision. Who else? To do the miracle. Why do you think God told him? Because of Abraham's closed mind, right? Who else has another opinion? For the wonders that God has done in the universe. What else? Does anyone have a different opinion? No? I do. Do you know why he told you to go outside? Because I was inside.
Excuse me pastor. He realizes how complicated we are. Do you know why we can't see what the brother said, the wonders and greatness of God? Because we are inside our caves and our tents. And what God was saying to Abraham, I am going to take off your roof and I am going to show you the roof of heaven. I'm going to get you out of your limitation. I take you out because first Abraham told him, come and look, look at my miseries. But then God told him, come, go outside and look, now I'm going to show you, Abraham, I'm going to show you, you know what? The heavens because you have a roof over your tent that doesn't let you see what I want to do with you.
Do you know what God is saying to you this afternoon? Go out. God is going to take you out of your fears. God is going to take you out of your limitations. God is going to take you out of the circumstances of the past that set limits so that you do not see what God wants to do with you. Get ready, church, because with the new temple God is going to bring a new mentality upon you. God is going to lead you to set foot in that new place and God is going to lead you with a new mentality and your sky is going to be the limit. It's not going to be a store, it's not going to be your past, it's not going to be your wounds, it's going to do what God spoke about you, about this city. We need to believe.
Now I am going to show you two cases in the Scriptures where we act according to what we believe. I'm going to show you the first one, I want you to accompany me to the book of First Samuel, to show you how related our faith is to our conduct. First of Samuel chapter 21, in some versions it is as the title of the chapter 'David's great escape'. David flees from Saul, what a run this man gave himself. From one side to the other, the persecution and the great opportunity of so many times that David had, but we are not going to talk about this today, and how he did not touch the anointed.
But this time, in this chapter, David continues to flee from Saul. Verse 10 says:
“David in Gath, there he was, that same day David, still fleeing from Saul, went to Achis, king of Gath. The officials said to Achis, isn't this David the king of the country? Isn't he the one they danced for and in the songs they said Saul destroyed an army but David annihilated 10?
In other versions it says it differently, I think I have another version here, verse 10, I read it again in another version in Spanish.
“And David arose that day and fled from the presence of Saul and went to Achis, king of Gath, and the servants of Achis said to him, Is not this David the king of the land? This is not who they sang in the dances saying – that by the way, it was the women who sang – Saul wounded his thousands and David his ten thousands. And verse 12, notice, it says that David put these words into his heart, and he was greatly afraid of Achis, king of Gath, and he changed his behavior before them and pretended to be mad among them. And he wrote on the door covers and let saliva run through his beard…”
Some think that this graffiti on the walls is something new. David was a top notch graffiti artist. He says that when King Achis came and the servants told him, this is not King David, that is not him, he says that when he heard that, David put those words in his heart, and when he put the word of the enemy of fear in his heart immediately what changed was his behavior.
And when he was scared he pretended to be crazy and he started acting crazy and he started writing on the walls and he says the drool was falling on his beard. Do it next door. Do you know the times we walk like crazy in the world knowing the Lord, because we have put our heart and the lie of the enemy?
I ask you this afternoon, what have you put in your heart? Because to believe God you need to put the truth and the promise of God in you and treasure it and keep it and when you believe God and embrace God's promise, and embrace what he spoke into your life, it doesn't matter what others say It doesn't matter what kings of this world say, but who are you? But what do you do? But who do you think you are to act like this? It doesn't matter what others say, when what you put in your heart is the truth of God and what God has declared about you and what God has declared about your children, about your marriage, about this city, your behavior will to be in the direction of what God spoke.
I realize that today's church is full of crazy people because they don't believe God. And we live in the world and we behave like the world because we don't believe God. When God is looking for a people who walk in his truth and believe him. I do not know what they have told you in your childhood, I do not know how much they have hurt you and have spoken to you in your childhood, if they have told you that you cannot, that it is impossible for your dream to come true, but I want to tell you this day , that if it came from the word of God and it was God who spoke about your life, no matter what others say, what God said will be fulfilled.
And you don't have to act like the world, act according to the promise. When we put the word of fear in our hearts, sometimes we do not interpret what it means to flee and resist because we do not believe God when Ephesians 6 says that we are attacked for doing good, Ephesians 6 says:
“…Resist the devil…”
And many times, instead of resisting, we run away. And when we have to flee because he flees from some things better, flee, run from there, since we misinterpret the word, instead of fleeing we say, here I resist. And we resist where we have to flee, and we flee where we have to resist. And God is calling a people who know the word, who walk the word, and who believe the word, the rhema of God revealed to the heart.
Look, I have a confession to make, and I'm sorry if I disappoint you this afternoon. You know I never had a vision. I have never even seen a cow in a bathroom. I never saw anything. I remember in Bible school God visited our seminary and all my friends, my classmates spoke I don't know how many languages, they fell, the Lord took them to heaven, it took them two hours to return, and they came and told great things and tremendous revelations. and everything, and what do you think? I was like these columns there. I never, ever had a vision. Do you know how I have to walk? For this.
Now you will tell me, what is not in accordance with dreams? Yes, that's good. Do not agree with the experiences? Yes, I love that God pulls you, touches you. Excellent. Everything perfect, but everything has to be filtered by it. I know what the Lord said here and what he promised and he here says that I am his daughter and that he has won the greatest booty on the cross for me, and I have determined even in my youth to believe him. Not only for me but for the fruit of my womb, for mine and for the fruit of my spiritual womb, because God gives you both natural children and spiritual children. I believe that what God has spoken in my life I believe for my children.
I don't care what you see, I don't care what the enemy yells behind my back. I know one thing, what God said he will do, he will do. Let me, now David had a problem. David's problem was putting to heart what the enemy said and it brought fear. Fear stops your feet, fear does not let you move forward. I can tell you how in my life for years fear did not let me move forward. I was a very scared person, if you knew who I was, you wouldn't imagine me standing here behind this pulpit. I never would have. Because for years of fear, because I treasured words of lies that others had declared about me, you are of no use, how is God going to use you? No, you don't have an inheritance, they told me. No, it's not for you, how are you? Look from the family you come from. No one in your family, look at the inheritance you bring, God can't do you, literally, and I believed it.
For years I was like this. I want to confess something to you, you know, and this is going to seem strange to you, but for many years in the ministry I was my husband's great frustration. And someday he's going to tell them. Do you know why? Because he did believe what God had for me and I didn't believe it. I was never afraid of work but I could not believe God that God could use me. Because the spirit of fear had tied my feet, because I had given it a place here and I was behaving like crazy.
And I'm telling you because I feel that this church is entering a great challenge in the spiritual world and you can't keep your feet tied, or fear, or anguish, or depression, or looking at the past. Get ready because God wants to release your feet for the surprise, for the exceedingly great thing that God wants to bring to this place.
Some of us sing, if I had faith like a mustard seed. Do you know what the characteristic of mustard grain is? That does not stay small. And we all walk... how nice that sounds, but the characteristic is that it enters into a process and turns from being the smallest seed into such a large tree and faith has to grow like a mustard seed, smaller to larger, larger. , more and get ready church, because God is going to take you from littleness to more, to more, to more and he will surprise you.
He says that David changed his behavior. But I want to show you how when we know who we are, our behavior changes. And I want to give you the greatest of examples, I want to talk to you about Jesus. And I want you to accompany me to the book of John, chapter 13, I am going to tell you that it is one of my favorite chapters. John chapter 13.
I was recently teaching a class at the school of ministry which we run with my husband in Buenos Aires, the class was restoring God's vision for the church in this century. It was a bimester that I had the class and on that occasion the Lord led me to speak, it touched me within the subject, John chapter 13 and it occurs to me for those things, occurrences I don't know where, before starting the class I put aside From my pulpit in the classroom, where people come from other places, from other cultures, I put a towel and a basin, or a container with water there and I didn't say anything. I greeted the students and started my class and left it on the side in the corner. And I began to teach my class and at one point the Holy Spirit fell in that place and someone gets up and takes the basin and begins to wash the feet of other students. I mean I couldn't finish my class.
I did not send them, I did not say, but the Holy Spirit surprises you. That is why it is one of my favorite chapters, he says, chapter 13 of the Gospel according to Saint John, he says:
“…Before the Passover feast, knowing Jesus that his hour had come for him to pass from this world to the Father, as he had loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end, and when they dined like the devil already Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, had put it in his heart to deliver him up - and look at what the next verse says, - Jesus knowing that the Father had given him all things into his hand and that he had come from God and was going to God, he got up from supper and took off his cloak and took a towel and tied it around him. Then he put water in a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet and wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him..."
It's like this passage causes me conflict more than once, inside me, because it seems to form like a sandwich, let's see if you understand me, I'm sorry for the simplicity with which I speak to you. But first the chapter begins by saying, before the Passover feast, Jesus knowing that his hour had come... Can you imagine what Jesus knew, he knew that the fulfillment of the Father's will, the reason for which he was on earth The time came, the fulfillment of the Father arrived. Knowing Jesus that the hour was drawing near, I imagine the next verse would be tremendous.
He says that Jesus knew the times he was living in, and he says, and knowing that the devil had already worked in the heart of Judas, I said well, after this what's next? After this verse, look, he says, knowing Jesus - verse 3 - that the Father had given him all things into his hands, that he came from the Father and went to the Father, if I were the one writing the Gospel and I would have to mark the history would say, knowing who I am and where I come from, knowing that the Father has given me all things into my hand, knowing that Satan has already entered the heart of Judas, knowing who I am and the power I have, I send lightning that fulminate.
It do not says that. He says knowing Jesus that he came from the Father and went to the Father, and that all things had been given into his hands, he knew who he was, he had an identity with the Father, if he had sent lightning, he would have acted like a madman, if he had sent to strike down Judas, he would have acted like David before Aquis, but Jesus was very clear about his identity with the Father and about something so tremendous that it would mark history, because it is the watershed of history that was about to happen, of history of eternity, since before the world was, the desire of the Father's heart was about to be fulfilled, the reason why the Father had sent his Son, was about to be fulfilled. He knew and it seems that from what was so spiritual, so profound, he gave so much identity to the Son that he was able to take a towel and a basin and wash his feet.
When the identity of what Christ is in you, of what he has spoken of, of what he has said, leads you to do things that are not understandable even to the mind. Knowing Jesus that he came from the Father and was going to the Father, he was able to go down and wash his feet.
Do you know why sometimes we act crazy? Because we don't know where we came from or where we're going. Do you know why so many times we walk that it will be God, it will not be God? Because? Because we don't spend time before the Lord for him to bring what he is in us.
Let me tell you that God is looking for children, mature children. God is looking for this time, he is waiting for the manifestation of the ullo children, those of legal age, those with maturity who know that they are children of the Father and who take from the kingdom, take the power of the Father and act here in this world. Because they know they are children of the King.
Jesus said, give me the basin and the towel and began to wash the feet. When looking at this Scripture I can see something so high, knowing that it came from the Father and that it was going to the Father, he commanded the angels to come, it does not seem that from this sandwich of these verses, from something so spiritual suddenly something so low happens, the lowest activity of a servant, the lowest thing was to wash feet, and yet, Jesus knowing who he was, knowing his position in the spiritual world, what was about to happen, shortly after there he already knew who he was, he knows what What did? He did the lowest activity, he washed the feet.
And the Scripture does not say he washed the feet of 11 of his disciples, because if it is me I wash them with cyanide, muriatic acid to Judas, I put boiling water in him. You would also do the same. But it doesn't say that, it says that he washed his disciples' feet.
How could he? How could he? You know why? I knew who it was. I knew where it came from. He knew who had called him, he knew who his Father was. He knew what the Father's plan was. He knew that the Father is not wrong. He knew that the word of the Father was greater than all human thought. Many times we do not dare to get down and change our attitude because we do not know who we are.
Many times we cannot love our neighbor because we do not know who we are and where we are going. Many times we do not dare to forgive because we do not know who we are. Many times we do not believe the word of God and we act like crazy because we do not have the identity of children of God.
It is the time that God is looking for children, not slaves, children because they are the children who manifest themselves for his glory. He did not come as a slave, he did not give his life for slaves. He came and produced children, children of God. Hey, and who do you think? I think daughter. And because I am a daughter I have rights.
And we began to wash the feet. Hey, but no, how am I going to do that activity? The one that someone else does, not me, I am a leader here, not me. is that why? When you are a son, when you know who you are, you wash the feet of even Judas. Do you believe God, do you know why we need to ask for the Holy Spirit to come and blow in our midst throughout this place? Because his presence begins to release the certainty, I am a son. And when I am a son I am capable of responding to whatever challenge it is.
Oh, but you're wrong, look what you're going to do. I know that God is not wrong. I know that God told me that he was going to do it with mine, and he is going to do it. I know the Lord is going to take care of the other building. I know the Lord has his plan. But why? Because I am a daughter and because we are sons we have rights and we have an inheritance.
And when you believe God your faith affects behavior. Today the pastor was talking about the sister who dared to step out in faith in the congregation's challenge for the new building. Hey, but what are you doing? Look at the economy, don't you watch the news? I know that I am a daughter. I know, I don't care what everyone says, I know that I am a daughter and I dare to do things that for others are crazy, but because I am a daughter and I know that he will not fail me.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Let me tell you that God at every moment, and look, even before when we were coming from the office, it was perceived that the winds of the spirit in this place were singing and we were in another... I don't know where it was, but it was somewhere here , but the Holy Spirit was perceived in this place.
Did you know? God is releasing certainty. Why does the Holy Spirit come? Because he wants to bring you certainty, he wants to captivate your heart and he wants to lead you to all truth. and the truth is that Christ Jesus has made you the daughter of the Father. You are a daughter and when you come before God you know where you come from and where you are going. And you are daughter, son, of God.
And I want this afternoon, before handing over this place and before leaving, I would like all those who raised their hands that have a promise, to stand up. If the musicians can come, please, how have I made them work? God bless you son. Thank you.
I want you to close your eyes and start digging up that promise. Some have received promises in childhood and have thought, no, not anymore. Let me tell you that yes, yes, God is going to do it. I want all of you who have promises to close your eyes and start bringing that promise into your heart. He begins to bring her.
Because I have not told you that if you believe you will see my glory. When Lazarus was sick, he thought that Jesus was late. He is not late, nor was he late for Bethany's house, he is not going to be late for your house either. You'll say but my problem already smells, I don't care, he's going to revive it. And what he has said he will do.
Faith. Faith. Faith. Faith. There is no God as great as you. There isn't, there isn't, there isn't, there isn't. There is no God who can do works like you do. Lord, this afternoon I declare that in this place you have children. And Lord, this day you rise up and bring promises before them and bring them closer to the day of fulfillment. Lord, there are some lives that have waited for years for you I tell you, the time of fulfillment is coming, you will see his glory. You will see it in your children, you will see it in your marriage, you will see it in your family, you will see it in your finances, you will see it. Because? Because you are a son, you are a son.
Lord, you take this church to a new level of faith, a new level of faith. Lord, you widen, you raise stakes, you widen the territory but Lord, before the natural you widen the spiritual, you widen it. Your glory, Lord, your glory. Father, I bless you and we tell you this day that we trust in you.
