Summary: The Spirit of the Lord brings freedom, movement, and power to our lives. It is not limited to just emotional experiences, but has many more consequences than what we can see in a Church. The Spirit allows us to project ourselves towards what the Lord is proposing in our lives. When we are wrapped in the Spirit, there is nothing that can defeat us. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things, detail by detail, and reminds us of everything Jesus has told us. Living in the Spirit brings life, even in our mortal bodies, and restores our hope and desire.
A Church that lives in the Spirit is a Church that is free, constantly moving, powerful, and full of life. The Spirit of the Lord gives life, renews, restores, and brings hope even to mortal bodies. It is the difference of the Lord's Church that shows life to those around us. The devil does not want us to move at the level of the Spirit, but when we let the Lord allow us to live in the Spirit, the devil has no power over us. We need a Church that is enlivened by the Spirit every day, not just at religious levels, but also at economic and professional levels. We should seek the things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God and set our sights on them. We need to claim our freedom and ask the Spirit to come into our lives.
I want to invite you to open your Bible to the second book of Corinthians, the second book of Corinthians chapter 3 verse 17, it is a biblical portion that has impacted my life in recent times, and despite the fact that many times I have been able to read it and share it , and hearing from others, the Lord took me through a series of passages related to this. But I want you to know one thing and I want you to make it very clear in your heart, Corinthians chapter 3 verse 17, "For the Lord is spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Have you memorized it yet? Very easy, we say it loud, if you are free you will say it loud, finally move your mouth big like this. Because the Lord is spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Can you look at your brother if he has a free face? And if you have memorized the text, and if your brother does not have a free face, take the opportunity to repeat it there. It is one of the great challenges of the Church. I believe that living in the Spirit has powerful consequences in our lives, and one of those things we sometimes limit it to just an emotional experience, I believe that many of us here have had an experience with the Holy Spirit, many have spoken in tongues, many have danced, many have raised their arms, many feel certain services where we wish we could run through the Church because this sensation of visitation from the Lord is so strong. But you know, many times we limit that work of the Spirit to those kinds of emotions or experiences. And while it is true we can have it, even living in the Spirit has many more consequences than what we can see in a Church.
There are many who leave the freedom of the Lord inside the temple, because when we leave we are once again tied to the things of the devil, to the things of the world. I want to tell you that if you have opened your heart to the Lord, if you have recognized Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, the spirit of freedom, the Holy Spirit, the spirit of Truth, the spirit of Life, is in you. The beautiful desire to feel free, many of us have experienced it in some way. One of the greatest essences of man is to feel free, not to feel manipulated by anything. Some of us want to be free, when we are children we want to be free from our parents, when we are parents we want to be free from our children. When we are single, from those limits that society or the world wants to put on us, and when we are married, I preached in my church and someone said about the mother-in-law.
We are always bringing this need for freedom for anything, we want to have an independent job to feel free, earn our own money, work hard for what? debts, we want to free ourselves from prejudices, but there is no greater freedom than feeling free by the Spirit of the Lord in our lives.
Look, when man and woman are truly free by the Spirit of the Lord, it doesn't matter that you don't have anything in your pocket, you own the world, but there are some who have a full pocket and feel poor, miserable. You know, I am captivated by the idea of free expression as sons or daughters of the Lord. But there is something else that I want to put in your mind, in your heart. Genesis chapter 1, verse 2, there is a word that is used in the middle of this text. When you think of something free, we think of something without limits, without restrictions, going beyond what many people have thought that we can reach, look at this characteristic of the Spirit. Genesis chapter 1 verse 2, and the earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved.
A Church that allows the Holy Spirit, I am not talking about a church under a denomination or community group, you and I are the Church of the Lord, we are on the bus and we represent the Church of the Lord, we are at work and we represent the Church of the Lord, we are in the hospital and we represent the Church of the Lord, therefore the Church of the Lord shows freedom, shows movement, the Church of the Lord does not stagnate. Has anyone bathed in a pool of stagnant water? Has anyone passed through there? One passes very quickly because of the amount of smells, so the Spirit gives us freedom, because of that freedom we have movement, by the power of the Spirit of God.
Acts chapter 1 verse 8: "But we will receive," so in addition to giving us freedom and receiving movement of the Spirit, how many are empowered by the Spirit? How many are empowered by the Spirit? How many are being moved by the Spirit? How many are moved by the Spirit to the will of God, how many feel free by this power of the Lord, of the Spirit in their lives? We must learn to experience that freedom. In the book of Romans in chapter 8, there is a constant expression that we should consider looking to the future, it is very tied up with chapter 7, Paul expresses some things in chapter 7 of Romans, in some of his verses in chapter 7 is telling us I do what I don't want to do. If you read chapter 7 you're going to see a lot of these confrontations from Paul, but then he starts with chapter 8 and he says right there in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who they do not walk according to the flesh but according to what?
If the devil this week made you feel condemned, don't listen to him, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, and how many are in Christ Jesus? How many are not in the flesh? The amenes were few (laughs). Well, how many of us try not to walk in the flesh? Did they record that well? When they see the preaching on the internet, I hope it comes out strong. We are trying every day to leave those things of the flesh so that the devil does not make us think that we are condemned for that, when we are in Christ He is perfecting our life, by the Spirit at the end he says in verse 1, if not according to the Spirit, just as the Spirit wants it to be.
That expression according to is how the Spirit wants it to be done, not according to how we feel, the Holy Spirit wants us to feel today as men and women without condemnation. He wants us to feel like men and women who, despite original sin, do not follow the designs of the flesh. But who experiences that? The one who has the spirit in freedom, the one who has the spirit in motion, and the one who has the spirit that gives him power.
Even in this chapter 8 of Romans, it says that in the Holy Spirit we do not feel condemned. In verse 5 of chapter 8 of Romans, he tells us that the Spirit makes us know that we are children of God. In verse 6 he says that those who live in the Spirit have life and peace. Verses 8 and 9 of chapter 8 of Romans say that he who lives in the Spirit pleases the Lord, that is what he is saying there, so not only with faith and holiness do we please the Lord, we also please him by living in the Spirit. The need for a Church that shows the values of the Lord is shown in its spiritual quality through the Spirit. If we do not have experience with the Spirit and we settle for a religious mentality, we will not be successful in what the Lord wants and has proposed for us.
It says that the Lord sealed us as His own in Ephesians. We are sealed. When we received the Lord we were sealed by the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is not limited to only certain expressions at certain times of the week, usually on Sundays, if not every day. Not only when we pray, when we are all together, but also in the way we behave when we are alone, in the way we represent Christ when we are on the street, when we are doing a paperwork, or how we trust in the Lord in those difficult moments. when the devil says you can't anymore, or when the devil says, I already beat you. But no one who is free stops moving, and no one who stops moving has power, movement without power is nothing, and power without movement is nothing.
We need that freedom of the Spirit that allows us to project ourselves towards what the Lord is proposing in our lives. You will say, it is a sermon that is too subjective, ambiguous, it depends on how you look at it, but I know only one freedom of the Spirit, which allows me to fight and defeat the enemy every day. I know that Spirit of the Lord, from Genesis, it says that the Lord moved over the face of the waters. Do you know what it says later in verse 3 of Genesis chapter 1? When the Spirit of the Lord began to create, let's bring it like this, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, at some point you were without form and void and darkness they were on you, until one day the Spirit of the Lord began to move, to bring movement, and began to pass over you, and do you know what created?, that great light, began to create in you what He had designed as mind creator so that you would be his creation, his praise, the praise of his glory.
When we are wrapped in the Spirit there is nothing that can defeat the man, the woman of God. Saint John, in chapter 14, one of the most emblematic passages, the book of Saint John in chapter 14, the promise of the Holy Spirit. You know that this passage is so important because it not only shows the Holy Spirit in a single facet, something mystical, religious, but also makes us whole in our lives. In verse 16: "And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforter, that he may be with you forever."
He also calls him in verse 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not know him, but you know him because he dwells in you. Ask your brother if he's still on the move. ask him. In addition, this Spirit of the Lord, which is named in different ways, we who were raised in Pentecostal culture is called the Holy Spirit, but it is also called the Spirit of Life, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of the Lord, it is the same Spirit, it is the same God. In verse 16 I want to emphasize another important characteristic of this Spirit that we need to always have with us, "But the comforter, the Holy Spirit whom my Father will send in my name", in whose name? In the name of Jesus , "He will first teach us all things."
I want to ask you a question, what does all mean?, what is everything?, totality, what else?, ah?, absolute, what else?. You know that this is one of the most detailed expressions of God. While for us everything means something very big in general, here it is saying I am going to show you detail by detail, everything that has to do with me. We can understand this totality, that for the Holy Spirit it is necessary and important that we allow ourselves to be taught detail by detail. So when you think of everything in the Word, don't think of everything, now, everything leaves, or everyone came, oh, everyone left, but we need someone who has this perception and says, Pedrito, María, Mario, Jimena left , Miriam, all the same but they left, someone over there began to look at the details.
God in his totality, in his lordship, this everything is detail by detail, He will teach us all things, detail by detail, so that you don't get lost in anything. It goes on further, says, "And it will remind you," is there anyone here who has memory problems, don't raise your hand because we're not going to pray for that anymore, "And it will remind you of everything I have told you." Today we do not have Jesus in our midst, it is the Holy Spirit in our midst, says the epistle because he stayed to convince us of sin, justice and judgment. He is saying that he is here to remind us of the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that we live complete as He wants us to be.
So a Church that lives in the Spirit is a Church that is free, that is in constant movement, that has power, that has life. If you continue reading Romans chapter 8 you will realize that it gives you life, even in your mortal body, it says that if someone has passed 29, if someone is looking for the secret of eternal youth, I present to them the Spirit of the Lord, who it will revive it, it will renew it, it will restore your life, your desire, your hope, that is the Spirit of the Lord.
If someone wants to spend thousands of dollars on a plastic surgeon, ask the Spirit of the Lord what you can do, maybe it will save them. And he says, Lord, I'm going to give you this scoop that I was going to give to Dr. Michael Mahorovtzki. Let the Spirit of the Lord bring that new life. There is a very beautiful coincidence in the Word about what the Lord is, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, it says that if the Son liberates you will be truly free, and if the Spirit of the Lord is there, there is freedom. How not to adore you Lord, how not to express this praise and this adoration? We need a Church that is passionate about things of the Spirit, that we stop living a spiritual religiosity, throw away that religious giant and begin to introduce ourselves into the Spirit of the Lord, look, miracles are going to appear in a miraculous way.
Even if someone thinks that there are situations in their life that cannot be fixed, ask the Spirit, He is making moves in their life, and if you are looking for Him, He will surely help you find and create something that no one else had created. . That is the difference of the Lord's Church, that is the difference of the Church that shows the Lord in the street, that is the difference of the Church that shows the life we lead to those around us, there are many of us who do not They don't even want to see us in photos. We say that the Spirit is life and we go to a party and even the light goes out, the music stops, everything stops, in the Lord we have life, and when something has life it has movement, and when something has movement there is power, and When there is something that has power, it has freedom.
Close your eyes, let's stand up and close your eyes, let's claim the Lord, and if there is someone who has not yet had this experience of a whole life, the apostle Paul speaks to us about body, soul and spirit. Let the Spirit of the Lord bring freedom, let the Spirit of Truth teach you and remind you of the promises that the Lord Jesus left for your life. It is a challenge to move at the level of the Spirit, the devil does not want us to move at that level, the devil does not want us to seek this freedom of the Spirit, this power of the Spirit, this movement of the Spirit. In our life the devil does not want us to do it. He wants to keep us in a concept, he wants to keep us in a square box.
Today we need a Church that is enlivened every day by this experience with the Spirit. Not only at religious levels, but also at economic, professional levels, when the Spirit is there, the devil bows down, the devil has no power, the devil flees, the devil no longer has anything to do with you, when we let the Lord allow us to live in the Spirit.
I want to invite you to raise your arms to heaven. Tell him, Lord, fill my cup, fill my life, Lord, fill my being, if I have experienced prisons, give me freedom. If I have experienced stagnation Lord, move me with your Spirit. When I feel powerless Lord, let me know each day that You have empowered me by Your Spirit. When the enemy wants to accuse me when I have failed, remind me that I cannot be condemned because I have you in my life. If you have risen with Christ, seek the things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God, set your sights on the things above and not on the things on earth says the Lord, because your life is hidden with Christ in God.
There is a song that says come, Spirit, come, and we are going to say come, Spirit, come. Do you want the Holy Spirit to come? And just as you can enjoy yourself, you are going to notice on the street one day that the Spirit is with you. Thank you Lord, thank you Lord, thank you Lord, thank you Lord, claim your freedom.
