Author
Dr. Roberto Miranda
Summary: The sermon is about the promise of Jesus in Matthew 28:20, "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." The speaker emphasizes that this promise is for everyone, not just the disciples, and that it is a comprehensive statement of God's presence in our lives. The context of this promise is Jesus' imminent departure, and he wants to leave his disciples with a word of affirmation and security. The speaker encourages listeners to trust in God's promise and not allow anxiety to take hold in their lives.
The author discusses how to deal with fear and anxiety, and how the Lord cares about our emotional and spiritual wellbeing. He also talks about the power of believing in Christ and how anything is possible with Him. The author emphasizes that even though Christ gave the disciples a huge assignment, He promised to be with them always, and that promise still holds true for us today. The author encourages us to believe in the power of Christ within us and to activate that power to do great things. He also shares stories of people who turned their tragedies into greatness through the power of God's gifts.
The writer reflects on the presence of Christ in our lives, emphasizing that it is personal and not an impersonal force. He encourages readers to talk to Christ as a person, confiding in Him and seeking His guidance. The writer also references the promise in the Bible that the gates of hell will not prevail against the Church, and notes that despite the challenges the Church has faced over the centuries, it has endured and will continue to do so. The writer concludes by contrasting the banalities of everyday life with the sublime promise of Christ's presence until the end of the world.
The speaker talks about how Christ's promise of being with us every day until the end of the world is a source of comfort and strength. He emphasizes that even in difficult times, Christ is with us and that we should trust in His love and commitment to us. He encourages the audience to visualize Christ's power and glory and to internalize His promise. The prayer at the end asks for God's help in sealing this promise in our hearts and minds.
I want to refer you to verse 20, Matthew 28:20, some powerful words from Jesus, a promise for us, I think that everything we have been talking about this morning, these beautiful testimonies, the hymn that Mir has been singing, there are beautiful eyes for you, some arms for you, that are with you in different situations of life. It is precisely what the Lord tells us, here in this verse 20, in the second part of verse 20, he says: "And behold, I am with you, always until the end of the world." How many can say thank the Lord for that? Behold, I am with you every day, that means Sunday and Monday too, in winter when it is snowing, and in June when the sun is beautiful like today, the Lord says I am with you every day, until the end of the world .
And that is the Word that I am convinced that the Lord wants to share with us in this service, and that you leave with that security in your heart. If you arrived this morning with uncertainty in your life, some very big burden, you are going through a tribulation, some family trial, that makes you doubt God at this moment in my life. Or if you know that He is with you, also because He wants to affirm that trust more. But in all of us he tells us this morning, behold, I am with you, I am with you, every day until the end of the world. And that is the Word that Jesus put in my heart this morning, sometimes when I am between one series of sermons and another, I am there waiting for the Lord to show me the next stage.
These are somewhat difficult times because then there are so many things one can preach about, the Bible is spread out in front of one, but one wants it to be the passage that God wants to give, the prophetic Word. This morning again, as I have shared with you on other occasions, I asked the Lord to give me a specific Word to share with you, I waited a moment, and it came from all the multitude of teachings that are in the Bible, that expression of Jesus I am with you, every day until the end of the world. So I believe that it is a Word from the heart of Jesus for you and me this morning, the company of God, the presence of Jesus, the work of Jesus in your life, and his commitment to you, firm, unbreakable, to accompany you through any situation that you may go through, everything that happens in your life remember, the Lord is not absent, he is present with you.
He is by your side, he is watching over your life, and all the resources of heaven which he incorporates into his person are going to be available there in your favor. Be it in Honduras, be it Haiti, be it China, be it in the abundance of the United States, be it wherever the presence of God will go with you. Behold, I am with you, every day until the end of the world. And immediately the words of the psalmist come to me, where will I flee from you or where will I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, there you are, and if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, there you are. If I take the wings of dawn and dwell at the end of the sea, still there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me. If I say certainly the darkness will cover me, even the night will shine before me. Even the darkness does not hide from you and the night shines like the day, the darkness is the same as the light, because you formed my entrails, you made me in my mother's womb.
How wonderful isn't it? In Your book were written all those things that were later formed without missing one of them. The psalmist through his words expresses his confidence that the Lord is with him, he cannot escape even if he wanted to, because he has made an unbreakable pact with the Lord, and the eyes of the Lord follow him. He says if I wanted to hide, which I don't, you'd still find me there, right? The writer of Psalm 23, I will fear no evil because You will be with me, surely good and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, the Bible is full of references and promises about a fact, and that is that we are never alone , the eyes of the Lord never remove his presence from our life.
Wow, and that is hard to believe because sometimes situations of tremendous suffering happen to us in our lives, sometimes great trials happen to us that would seem to deny that promise of the Lord that He is with us every day until the end of the world, because they happen sometimes very serious things. And I don't want to get ahead of the sermon because that's like a part of the message, and I hope I don't forget because I do want to deal with that too, because sometimes we give people such superficial and superficial teachings, but there are people who is going through and has gone through great traumas, when the doctor gives you a diagnosis as they did to our brother, where is God at that moment one wonders?
Whatever diagnosis you get in your life, it could be an account, you thought you had a lot of money, suddenly you go to the ATM and it wasn't as big as you thought, you thought they were going to give you a tax refund and they charge you 5,000 dollars, but the Lord says I am with you every day until the end of the world, and that for me is one of the fundamental truths of the son, of the daughter of God, that confidence that we have that at no time will the eyes of God stop perching on your life. Do you know that God can look at the billions of human beings that exist and give them all the attention they need simultaneously without flinching or suffering problems? His computer does not blow a fuse or have a problem, he has a mega mega mega bytes, He can do that, He can be attentive to you, and you, and you, and each one of us in every situation we have there outside.
He is never too busy, he is never too burdened, he is never too consumed with attention there or a problem there, or a world war, no, the Lord can watch over all that and He says I am with you, I have a conscience, yes I formed you in your mother's womb, I can do that in your life, every situation, your body, I am there. So this is an expression that was said by the Lord Jesus Christ in a very specific context, but I believe that it has value for every situation in life. It is a comprehensive statement. But I can say, and why wasn't that for the disciples only? I'm going to speak in a moment of the immediate context in which He makes that statement.
Because the Bible is full, like going to the Psalms for example, but if we go forward in all the scriptures, the writings of the apostle Paul, John, the apostle Peter, Revelation, we see that continuous affirmation that the Lord is with us. always, and this was a statement simply there that perhaps because of its beautiful context affirms and reminds us in a very strong way of that great truth that He is with us every day until the end of days. And we cannot lose, God wants to comfort you this morning, and God wants to let his voice be heard in your heart and in your mind, and that you come out sure of that, behold, I am with you, I am with you, I accompany you , in your losses and in your struggles, in your triumphs, and in your career, in your future, I am with you, do not fear.
Do not be afraid, little herd, says the Lord Jesus Christ in another passage. But I am aware, one of the things that came to my mind was that I preached a sermon two Sundays ago that can be a little severe when I spoke about homosexual marriage, you will remember, and you will also remember that I spoke about the affirmation of the God's Love. But many times the Church has to talk about different things, sometimes God calls us to a holiness sermon, which leaves us a little trembling and, am I Lord? But he also wants to hold us as we Dominicans say, snuggle us, I don't know if it's also the word in South America, he wants to Chinese us as the Central Americans also say. He says I'm not going to ask you for anything, I'm not going to send you anything, I'm just going to give you a little kiss on the cheek and tell you I'm with you. And that is what God wants, may God help me to be tender, it is not one of my qualities that necessarily stands out.
But I want to affirm my brothers in your life, the Lord has a Word, he says, Lion of Judah congregation, if you are tired, Roberto Mirando, if you are tired or troubled or whatever, I am with you, I am with you, leave sure of that confidence, that the Lord accompanies you through your trials, your sins, your falls, your struggles, your tribulations, the Lord is with each one of you, behold, I am with you every day until World's End.
The first thing that jumps out from this passage is that the Lord expressed this promise in the context of his imminent departure. It is the last assertion recorded by the evangelist Matthew. In that last speech, the Lord said many things to his disciples, in Mark we have some things that are a little different but more or less with the same idea, these signs will follow those who then say I am with you. So it seems that it was something very clear that He wanted to tell them, how interesting, isn't it?, that in the context of their departure, their departure to heaven, the Lord wants to leave them a Word of affirmation and security. Don't worry, I am with you, I am leaving but I am with you.
Because?. Because perhaps the disciples were a little troubled, they physically had him for three years, we thought we had lost him when they crucified him and now we have him again, I am with you even though I am leaving, right? And that is very important that we understand, even if we cannot see the Lord, even if sometimes we don't even feel it, even if we don't feel it, the Lord says don't worry, even if you don't see me or don't feel me, even if circumstances deny my presence I I am with you, my Presence accompanies you. So I think it comes first, the Presence of Christ in our life is not something that you have to feel, it is good if you feel it, glory to God, but it does not depend on your senses, it depends on the fidelity and character of God. The guarantor is not your senses, so if the Lord says that He is with you, his character supports him, his promise supports him.
Don't worry, even if you feel scared, I know you're with me. I don't feel you now, the clouds are thick, and they obscure the sun, but I know the sun is shining up there somehow, never doubt, don't doubt the Lord. Peter took his gaze from the Lord when he walked on the water, and put it on the water, the wind, on the noise of the waves, and he took it off Jesus and focused on the intimidating circumstances confused by fear and what happened? , and the Lord extended his hand to him, affirmed it again and said to him, why did you fear, man of little faith? And sometimes that's how we are, when things get tight we can fear and doubt, because we don't see it at that moment, because the circumstances seem terrible around us, and at that moment you have to say like the psalmists, why do you get down? oh my soul, and why are you troubled within me?, wait on God, because I still have to praise him my salvation and my God.
Many times when I feel frightened, and many times it is like that, when things tighten and intensify in my life, I do what the psalmist says, why are you downcast? I begin to dialogue with my mind, with my feelings. , with my nervous system down, and I don't let him get on top of me or take control, I begin to give him therapy, my soul, why do you get down like this? Trust in the Lord, He says that he is with me, I take two promise pills of Christ and then it begins to clear up. Never allow anxiety to settle in your life, anxiety will come because it is a nervous reaction, before you know it the hormones have already left, the chemicals have already been released by the body, because it is like that, biology is like that, an external stimulus, something frightens you and wow, the chemicals come out, they contaminate your nervous and mental system, and those chemicals cause anxiety, they provoke adrenaline and contaminate your mental environment, and then your thoughts are colored with that feeling of anxiety, that happens .
What you have to do at that moment is remember the Word of Christ, I am with you, do not be afraid, I have promised to walk with you. So start at that moment to give therapy to yourself, talk to your mind, talk to your body, talk to your emotions and tell him hey, the Lord says he is with me so calm down, okay? My son, calm down as they say out there.
So the Lord wants to quiet the feelings and emotions of his disciples. When they were going to crucify him, he says that in the Garden of Gethsemane the disciples were so nervously exhausted, their nerves were so burned that they were full of sleep. When you're afraid, the system is working overtime, and you burn a lot of emotional energy, you know? Emotional work is sometimes more tiring than physical work. So the disciples were filled with fear, and the Lord wanted to quiet their hearts and spirits.
So the Lord cares about that part of our life, when we are in crisis, He said: Look, even though I'm leaving, don't worry, I'm going to be with you, and we're going to talk a little more about that, the Christ who leaves but who is also with us. The second thing that I see in this passage is that it is said in the context of a very big commandment that He makes to them, a very far-reaching assignment that He makes to the disciples, He is practically commanding them, he has just given them say go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
Wow, that was a stratospheric, huge order. Imagine, we are talking about the first century, in the 30-something year, in a small village in an insignificant country, illiterate people, many of them illiterate, people who had no means of getting around the land, it is more than they did not even have an adequate conception of what the Earth was, the oceans, the towns, many of these people had never left their own village, how much more to think of their country, of their region, to cross a sea, these people had no a sense of none of that, the only thing they knew was a city of Rome, they did not even conceive what the city of Rome was, which had them under its control. And the Lord is saying to those little disciples, travel all over the world, go all over the earth and convert them to me, and teach them to keep all that I have taught you. That seemed like a recipe for disaster and total defeat.
So now I believe, but we, how can the Lord tell us to do something so big and so important? And the Lord tells them I am with you, every day until the end of the world. In other words, what was the Lord saying to them with that? Not to worry, He is the God of the impossible, He is the source of their power, and He was going to make sure that they reached the goal, and that they did not fail in that task that He assigned them. Today, 20 plus centuries later, that promise has not been fully fulfilled but wow, all the nations of the world know about the individual Jesus and we are still at it.
But what the Lord says is now much more feasible, what the Lord said to them is now much more understandable, Christianity has covered the Earth, that band of insignificant people came to Rome and conquered Rome, continued throughout the rest of Europe , it has gone to China, Asia, Africa, the rest of America, and Christianity has been the source of culture of the West and also of all the nations of the world, Christianity has produced some of the greatest and most sublime works of art , the scientific discoveries have been many of them based on things that Christianity has facilitated for the rest of the world, a number of things, came out of that little nucleus of men and women traumatized by His crucifixion, and He tells them not to worry , I am with you until the end of the world.
So, brothers, that helps us also to know something, that for those who believe, everything is possible. That for those of us who believe in Christ, anything is possible, even for one of the most Central American families, their children have never studied before or they do not come from a great academic lineage, but there they have their son, winning a scholarship or going to the best university from one of the greatest nations on earth, because that sap that the Kingdom of God brings is beginning to inseminate that family, and bless it and lift it up in so many ways, how beautiful, isn't it?, because the Lord is with us.
Where Christ is, all the resources of heaven enter with Him, for a family, for a man, for a young person, and listen to me, if we could understand that, if we could appropriate that truth, to say Christ, come into my life, sit on the throne of my life, He enters but with Him enter the angels, the archangels, all the riches of the Father, the Holy Spirit, all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, all the power of the Kingdom of God, enter together with Him, and sits within us. And wherever we go that power of Christ goes with us, all the resources of heaven, where you enter the power enters with you too, the power of Christ because Christ is within you, and everything is possible, there is no circumstance, It doesn't matter that you come from a poor family, it doesn't matter that you haven't studied, it doesn't matter that you don't speak the language, it doesn't matter that the nation where you are for some reason or another doesn't have all your documents, you and God they are the majority wherever they go, honestly, and always remember that.
The apostle Paul, over and over again in Ephesians chapter 2, remember that because it's one of my favorite passages as well, where Paul says I pray that God will give you a spirit of understanding, so that you may understand how great is the power that God has made dwell within his body, that the same power that raised Christ from the dead is within you also. And much of the problem with us, brothers, is not that God enters us, or that God blesses us, or that God works on our behalf, no, that is not the problem, the problem is that we are able to become aware that God's power is already in us and working through us.
And when we become aware of that fact, then we can activate that power that is already waiting, and we can do great things in our lives. Many of the failures and omissions, and the failures that God has to reach us, is not God's fault or lack of the Presence of Christ in our lives, it is a lack of awareness that He is in us, and part of our prayer should be Lord, open my eyes so that I can see you and believe that you move with me, and that whatever I do I can do in the name of Jesus because you are with me. Paul says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, hallelujah.
There is nothing that you cannot do no matter how great it is, because Christ is with you, Christ walks with you. Ask the Lord, I have to ask the Lord, Father open my eyes so that I can believe greater things every day, because I know that you believe that I have faith, but Christ tells me hey, if you had faith like a mustard seed, you could do things a thousand times greater, because the disciples approached Jesus and said, increase our faith, I think Jesus laughed and said, what faith am I going to increase?, if they had faith like a They would say to a grain of mustard, move to this mountain and it would throw itself away, I cannot increase something that you do not have is what he meant rather.
No, a part of what we have to believe is that He is with us, so that activates His power in us. And that is why I told them, right? I am giving them, it is a total order, as they would say in English, right? I am giving them a great assignment, as they would say, but don't worry because I will be with you. If you read the Book of Acts, one sees how this affirmation of Jesus begins to degrade in the life of the Church, in those first years that the Book of Acts speaks to us. One continually sees the disciples in so many different situations, Paul when he was being stoned, Esteban, there is one of the things that I told them, one of the situations that would seem to deny that affirmation of Jesus, completely, when you are going through a divorce and the person you are with wants to leave you, and already your world is falling apart how difficult it is to believe that expression of Jesus, I will be with you.
Today that I am going to sign the papers, today that that person leaves me, every day, I told you that I would be with you every day. Yesterday they told me that I have an incurable disease, that they don't know how long I'm going to live, that I have to take pills every day of my life, I'm not going to be a very healthy person, where was God? I told you I I'm going to be with you every day, I'm going to be with you in sickness, and you may be healed or I may simply say I'm going to accompany you and I'm going to use you in the midst of that disease, and I'm going to give you power and the grace for you to hit a home run with that disease, because that is often the case. You know, sometimes things can come into our life that would seem to be an irredeemable tragedy, there is no possibility of anything good that can come out of it, and what happens? That was the reason that then led you to something much better. and more blessing.
This is how it happens many times, brothers, and who knows sometimes, situations that come into our lives, what things God could be freeing us from, but it is that you never, we cannot see all the elements of existence, we cannot know all of them. the secrets of the Universe, something that seems terrible in the morning light maybe, oh, you missed the plane, oh, my God, how terrible, the plane crashes, everyone on the plane dies, oh glory to God, I have to testify about that on Sunday in León de Judá. How fast things happen, we don't know, how many people through an apparent disease have reached greater things, in the book that I am writing about life by design, I give the example of a young autistic, non-baptist, autistic, who from boy was born with this disease, and his childhood was very frustrating because he could not speak.
Until one of his teachers in class discovered that he had a formidable aptitude for drawing. He used this to teach this kid to speak, the alphabet, other things, this kid had an incredible visual memory, and by the time he was 7, 8 years old, he had started selling his drawings commercially. And this boy is now 30-something years old, I don't remember his name right now, he has such and such a great capacity, how he travels to all the countries, the cities of the world, he can get on a helicopter, and tour a city in 5, 10 minutes he memorizes all the buildings, for example in Manhattan, he has a photographic mind, there are people who have that, he can remember all the buildings, go to his studio and draw them in detail and with the precise proportion of everything , the windows all, Willshire, I can't remember his name now.
And I've seen his page, he has his website and everything, his drawings are worth tens of thousands of dollars, and they are a marvel of the human mind. Namely, that his incredible tragedy led him to greatness. If you ask him, as he has been asked, if he would prefer not to have his affliction, he says no, because it is a gift, a divine gift that God has given him, which comes in a slightly cloudy but beautiful package, because This is how God's gifts come into your life, they come in strange forms, that's why sometimes we despise God's gifts, because we don't like the packaging. The Jews despised the gift of God through Jesus Christ because they did not like the packaging, they expected a 10-foot man, a very big sword that would cut off the head of all the Romans, and here comes this young man, a typical Jewish man without beauty so that no one would want or seek something from him, and there was all the greatness of God in that ordinary being.
So I believe that no matter what situation you go through in your life, do not reject it simply because it comes in a strange, different package, and that Christ assumes the form of something other than what you expect Him to appear, do not reject it because perhaps it is the Presence of Christ manifesting itself in a strange way in your life. And that is why I told them, although you are not going to see me, although it seems that this ends here, do not worry, my Presence simply assumes another form, and that is how it happens in your life, no matter where you are, what the situation is. your life, what is the problem that you have ahead of you, how big is the responsibility that you have ahead of you, how serious is the situation and the challenge, getting a new job is much more complicated than you thought, it has more responsibilities .
Look at the Lord, for Him there is nothing difficult, simply say Lord, that Your power becomes greater, because the situation is greater, You are with me, now your intervention in my life is just a little more broad, and give me the power for me to beat this and master it. The Lord does it, I am with you, I am with you, every day until the end of the world.
The other thing that I see here is that it says, here I, I, notice that for me that is important, it is not that I am looking for the thing too much, because the Presence of Christ is personal, it is not something that is with you, no It is a superior force, a higher power, it can be said like this in certain circumstances, what is with you is not a power, it is not a principle, it is not a force, it is a being, a person, Jesus, it is the Father, it is the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is not a vague and indefinite gas, it is a person. God is a being, He is a personal God, that is why you and I are personal, it is because we reflect the personality of God, the Lord does not condense or something like that to get inside you, mysteriously He is inside you, and is with you. He is the one who walks with you.
So with that being that lives with you, and walks with you and is with you, you can talk, you can scream, you can shed your tears, you can confess, you can psychoanalyze yourself with him, he is a tremendous psychologist, talk to him and express yourself, the best therapy of the world is when you sit somewhere, close the door, make sure there is no microphone, no one is watching you, and you begin to let go of everything that is in there, talk to him, talk to him in great detail, put your problems, sins and needs, with first, second and third last names included, and explain everything to Him, because He sits with you, pours you a cup of coffee, and He also pours himself one and listens to you, and the whole personality, his love , his intelligence, his wisdom, his ability to advise you, his loyalty and fierce fidelity are with you and for you.
I am with you, the Trinity is with you, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, they walk with you every day, that is a powerful being that will be with you through thick and thin. And what do you prefer to have, an impersonal vapor or a person who is with you? One person, I was also sitting there thinking, when Paul is in serious difficulty in the book of Acts, I think it's Acts 18 if I'm not mistaken, if it doesn't occur to me, it doesn't matter, the fact is that Paul is He was in a very difficult season and the Lord appeared to him and told him not to be afraid, Paul, because I am with you, and I have many people in that city. Do you remember that passage? It left me for a moment, I'll get it later it doesn't matter, what interests me is that fact that Pablo was there, it will be on the 18th, 18:10, ok, how good it is to have people learned in the Bible.
How nice, there were people who were persecuting him and opposing him, they were blaspheming, shaking off their clothes, they were looking for him to kill him, and verse 9 says, then the Lord, okay? It wasn't something impersonal, then the Lord in vision At night, the Lord had compassion on Paul because of course, sometimes we feel frightened, helpless in our lives, when things get tight you feel like wow, how good it would be if God sent me at least one message that He You are with me, right?
Then in a vision he tells him not to be afraid, he told Paul if he doesn't speak, don't be silent, because I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to harm you, because I have many people in this city. And you know that, he says, he stopped there for a year and a half, so you can see, right?, because Paul traveled from one place to another but he stopped there for a year and a half, whoever doesn't like it, well, fight with Jesus who is with me. It is good that the Lord in all his person, in all his integrity told Paul do not be afraid, speak up, do not be silent, because I am with you.
When you are in difficult situations, people are attacking you and you feel surrounded by difficult situations or things, remember the Lord says do not fear, I am with you, do not fear or dismay because I will be with you wherever you go, says the Mister. That is why it is important to memorize these passages brothers, you must memorize yourself, you must record those teachings and those promises in Scripture, so that when that difficult situation comes in your life you can go to them. The Bible is full, I tell you, saturated with that image of a personal Christ who is with us even though we don't see him, and even though everything seems to deny his presence in our lives.
So that is something else, that it is a personal Christ who is with us. The other thing, there are many things here, I realize that there is more than what one thinks here, I was afraid that I did not have enough material, (laughs), but that is the meat in one, right?, the personal presence, his presence has not diminished as at the beginning. Another thing, here it says I am with you, now think about the word you for a moment, that you means in your Church with a capital i, that is to say collectively, but also with each one of us individually. Because He was speaking there with a group of His disciples, while He entrusted them with the work that they were going to carry out for centuries, preaching the Gospel, making disciples of all nations, then there are two wonderful things there, right?, the presence of Christ is both with his people in general and with us individually.
So we have already talked a little about the individual, the presence of Jesus in the individual, but also being Church, do not fear, because the gates of hell will not prevail against you.
They know that we are in a time when everything seems to be denied, like the Church is going backwards, the world like in many parts, in the Western world, while in other countries or in other areas such as Africa, Latin America In Asia, the gospel is going around like fire, that's another thing to remember as well. Because sometimes one looks here at the United States and says well, the gospel is losing ground, but in many parts of the world the gospel is gaining ground incredibly. But you know that even here in this nation of the United States, when I see all the setbacks and the nations of Europe that would seem like they already closed their doors, do you know that I don't care at all? It kind of inflames me rather, what I see, what it does is that it challenges me to see how we can change the situation, not that it makes me feel like oh, we already lost the war.
When I see all the things that are happening in this nation against the gospel, it is like David seeing Goliath insulting the Lord of Hosts, and how we can cut off the giant's head, not hide, not be afraid of him. Why? Because Christ said very clearly that the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church, and He said that He will be with His Church until the end of days, and if you look at His Church in 21 centuries that the Church has Christian, the Church has gone through all kinds of historical moments.
Look at Russia, the former Soviet Union, in 1914 I think it was, or 17, communism was declared as the philosophical doctrine that governs this powerful nation, and Russia grew and covered a good part of Eastern Europe, and began to expand, even going to Latin America to the Caribbean with Cuba, and many nations of the world, and many intellectuals adopt Marxism as a philosophy, and it would seem as if Marxism, Leninism and Communism were going to blanket the earth with their atheistic theology, their atheistic materialist teaching, and that Russia was irrepressible, and persecuted the Church in those countries. I was recently seeing the wonderful Church of Saint Stanislaus in Moscow, I have been blessed to see it personally, it is a wonderful Church, I don't know if Bruno wants to show it to me, I think I'm spoiled, spoiled by that one.
No, Saint Stanislaus Church, it's that church that has some beautiful, red domes, there in Red Square, and that church, which is a world architectural marvel, escaped its destruction by Stalin by just a hair, because he wanted to destroy it, because it reminded him of Christianity. However, today, what is happening? Marxism, Leninism, is in the dustbin of history, and the church was there, it has risen again, they were there and are once again growing and moving forward .
In communist China the same way, they persecute her but the more they persecute her on the ground, the more she rises up, with more power than ever, there are about 50,000, I don't know how much per day, Chinese who convert per day, a drop, because the Chinese, you know there are so many of them in the world, but they are growing, there are millions and millions, but nothing can prevail against the Church of Jesus Christ. Because Christ has said, behold, I am with you always, until the end of the world. I assure you that great movements will come and go, there will be great wars, there will be great philosophical schools that will pass through the Earth, and they will leave and no more will be heard of them, but those who trust in Jehovah are like Mount Zion that does not it moves but remains forever.
How do I know that the Church is not going to disappear? Because the Apocalypse says that the Church of Christ will remain for Christ to take away before his second coming, heaven and earth will pass away but my Word will not pass away. I can sometimes understand why the Catholic Church, with all the troubles that are happening and everything, no longer remains, and they remain confident, and continue to talk about the faith, and do not flinch, with all their mistakes, I respect that, and they don't try to catch up like some evangelicals, and to remove the doctrines of the Church. Do you know how much pressure there is on the Catholic Church to remove some of its doctrines? I think some things could be greatly improved, but they remain firm because in the 2,000 years that they have been an institution, they have seen so many things come and go. pass, so many princes and kings rise up against them and try to destroy them, and when those kings die they open their doors again, and the Christians return again to fill it.
And that's why he says hey, we are going to have difficult times but we passed them 100, 50, 500, 600 years ago, but we are here and we will continue. And that is what the Lord tells you in your life brother, I am with you, that is why the apostle Paul in Ephesians chapter 6 says that we put on the whole armor of God for when the bad day comes, right? We have to clothe ourselves with conscience, God is with me, He says then so that having passed the bad day and having passed everything we are firm, we are firm. When you know that Christ is with you and He has said I am with you every day, because that is something else, I won't have time but at least one little thing there, right? Contrast every day, and the end of the world, contrast of the banal and the sublime, in the banal of every day when you get up, start the car and the snow is screaming around you, and the wipers don't work, and you You slipped before you got in the car, and you get to work and there's no coffee, because it's over or whatever.
He says I am with you until the end of the world, that great image, the end of the universe, when all the atoms will burn, and God will make new heavens and a new earth, the Lord will be with you in the small and the great, in the banal and in the sublime, in the great crisis and in the headache, in the car when they rip off your bonnet because they hit you in the street and also when you need God to do something special, just a moment, there in a minimal situation, Lord give me a Word for this, wherever the Lord is with you. I am with you every day until the end of the world, that is the Word of the Lord on this day, amen?
People of God, close your eyes for a moment, as if Christ were in front of you, just you and Him, and you visualize all his glory, his power, thus condensed into a single being, that you can visualize and digest with your eyes and your mind, He is there but you feel his power, and feel his powerful, sure and deep look, you see his simple and benevolent smile, you feel his fidelity to you and his commitment, He knows you from the inside out, he knows every cell , every vein, and every thought that is within you, and despite all that you feel that He loves you, and accepts you and receives you, and you feel that he is committed to you. And then He opens his mouth and you hear him say I am with you, every day until the end of the world.
Go home today with that security. Father, in the name of Jesus, take your hot iron and seal our minds and our hearts with that promise of yours, so that nothing in this world can erase it from us, that you accompany us, and are with us through thick and thin. in bad times, Sunday and Monday, the Friday of the crucifixion, the Saturday of the grave, and the Sunday of the resurrection, You are with me at all times, help us to internalize that promise of Yours on this day, and get out of here and that does not get out of our minds for a single moment, and that we can live based on that truth, unshakable, behold, I am with you every day until the end of the world, thank you Lord, we receive it, we live in it, in the name of Jesus, amen and amen, glory to the Lord.
