Summary: The book of John elaborates on the events that happened after the resurrection of Jesus. The disciples experienced mixed feelings of abandonment, frustration, doubts, fear, joy, amazement, and expectation. In John chapter 21, Peter and the disciples go fishing but catch nothing until Jesus appears and tells them to cast the net again. They catch a large number of fish, and Jesus invites them to eat. However, the disciples had forgotten Jesus' teachings and promises, which reflects humanity's ease of forgetting important things. James 1:19-25 reminds us to receive the implanted word with meekness and be doers of the word, not just hearers. We must live with an awareness of Jesus' teachings and promises, reflecting our role as the salt and light of the world.

The speaker encourages listeners to be mindful of Jesus in their daily lives and to be salt and light to the world. He challenges them to remember Jesus' teachings and to live them out in their interactions with others, even in difficult situations. He also emphasizes the importance of discernment and being open to opportunities to share God's love with others. The speaker prays for listeners to be transformed into Christ's image and for God's blessing and protection as they go about their lives.

The book of John is the book that elaborates the most on the things that happened after the resurrection of Jesus. If you start reading the four gospels, almost all of them end in the fact that after he appeared to the disciples when they were in the upper room, they then go to the mountain and there Jesus ascends and there they stay with the great Commendation.

But in the book of John there are a few additional accounts that further elaborate on things that happened after such a great event, so majestic, so divine, so powerful. And to this I said the ambivalence after the resurrection. It's very connected to things in a certain way to things that the Pastor shared on Friday night, and I was telling myself those were the days after the resurrection where the disciples were processing a lot of mixed feelings. Those were days when some of them had a feeling of abandonment, frustration, doubts, fear, but they also had joy, amazement and expectation because they had seen the risen Jesus, so it is an idea of whether I saw him or did not see him, or was dreaming or not, was I hallucinating or not, I ate too much fish that night and I'm seeing a hallucination of Jesus or what.

I imagine that they were there questioning different things, and there is a passage in John chapter 21 that made me think this, I would like you to go to the Bible there with me, John chapter 12, rather from 1 to 12, says: "Jesus He manifested himself again to his disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he manifested himself in this way: Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Canaa of Galilee, the sons of Sebedeo, and two other of his disciples were together. Simon Pedro told them, you know what guys? I'm going to fish, they told him, well, you know what? We're going with you, they went and got into a boat and that night they didn't catch anything, they remember something, let me make a parenthesis, Do you remember the time that Jesus met Peter after having been fishing all night, what did Jesus say to him?, hey, mouth out to sea, we have been fishing all night and we have not found anything.

When it was already dawn, Jesus appeared on the beach, but the disciples did not know that it was Him, and He said to them: children, do you have anything to eat?, they answered: no, and He said to them: cast the net to the right from the boat and you will find. A pause, we're going to process this here together. They are, let's say, maybe 5 or 10 meters into the water still because it was already dawn so they were returning to the shore, as if to say we're going to pick up our things and leave, but they're still in the water and at that distance let's say here to the wall back there, they see this person who is Jesus but they do not recognize that it is Jesus.

And Jesus already tells them to cast the net again. If I had been there I would have said who is this? If you were with me all night and you saw that I didn't catch why are you going to tell me to throw the net, that would have been me. But something in these boys made them drop the net, they dropped it and they could no longer get it out due to the large number of fish, a miracle repeated twice. Look how interesting, a miracle repeated twice, and the boys were like, ah? But that disciple whom Jesus loved very much told Peter, it is the Lord! clothes because he was in his underpants the safest thing, and he jumped into the sea and it was there, like, trying to jump over the water, and he reached the shore. The other disciples came in the boat dragging the net with the fish, since they were no more than 200 cubits away, more or less 10 meters from the shore.

When they descended to land they saw coals placed and a fish on them and bread. Who had the fish?, them, and where did that fish that Jesus had come from, did he make it out of the sand?, did he voala?, he served it, we are talking about the risen Jesus so everything is possible my beloved, if it crosses walls , if he still has his marks and if they can be touched, and if he still eats and remains a glorified body as we have heard these days, Jesus can do anything. Jesus told them, bring some of the fish that you just caught, Simon Peter went up and pulled the net from the ground full of large fish, 153, and even though there were so many, the net did not break, and Jesus told them come, eat , and none of the disciples dared to ask him, and who are you? For me, my brothers, this text reflects the facility of human beings to forget many things, it reflects our ease of easily forgetting the teachings that have been given to us. It reflects our ease of not only forgetting those teachings, but also forgetting the person behind those teachings, who has impacted our lives in such a great way, we forget things that can transform us and the lives of others. around us, why is it, why is it that in our humanity? It is important that the Son of God die and on the third day he will rise again, He told them over and over again, he was announcing it, and when everything happened it was like they never told me, they were behaving as if they had never been told had said nothing.

How interesting that many times we receive a teaching, we receive an impartation, a word from the Lord my brothers, and suddenly something happens in our lives and it is like, they had not told me, because in our conduct, our way of think, reflects the opposite of that word that we receive. And you are going to tell me yes Pastor but that is our sinful nature, and I understand, I understand that, but my brothers we have to fight against that nature, isn't that the call of us as believers, to get rid of our old way of living and putting on Christ, an image full of love, the fruit of the Holy Spirit and that we can live in the light of those principles, in the light of that person? Why then is it as easy for us as Pedro to think again, I'm going to fish again? We go back to what we know, we go back to what I was used to, because it's easier than this other thing they were teaching me.

Do you realize where I'm going my brothers?. All the things that the Lord Jesus was imparting to my brothers were things that surpassed what they had experienced or what they had learned from other teachers, from their relatives, and that teaching for some reason or another was there, but as that had not been activated yet, had not gained the life that that teaching needed to gain in their midst so that they could stand firm in the promise that Jesus gave them. Think about this, Jesus told you, look, I am going to rise again on the third day, wait for me, wait for me, look, that was for the third day, the twelve disciples were waiting in front of the stone for Jesus to come out, don't you believe? Why is it that women always have to be the ones who arrive? I ask myself, Omar, what would you have done, would you have been in front of the stone, or would you have stayed in Jerusalem or would you have gone elsewhere? I myself wonder what I would have done, as the two mensas said, mensas well, what are they looking for, that turned out to be genuine, definitely. He told them that he was going to come back again, why are they looking for him? Hello angel, there is no other place to look for it, if they had it here, I'm going to have to come here, my starting point has to be here.

A woman of this century would have said that to the angel and she wouldn't have been such a fool, I hope, that's me. The issue is my brothers that all this that happened and still look at this in verse 21 of John, Jesus had already appeared to his disciples, and in those appearances he had not only shared bread with them, I imagine that he had also He had spoken, he had told them, he had reminded them, what's more, Matthew, Luke and John present a very docile, very simple Jesus telling the boys, peace, don't worry, I am with you, Marcos for some reason presents a Jesús bravo, I don't know if you have realized that, do the study.

Look how Mark says, I missed Mark, really, after Matthew, look how Mark says, chapter 16 verse 14, says: "Finally he appeared to the 11 while they were sitting at the table, and he reproached them for their disbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who had seen him risen". Look at this, that's interesting, he reproached them, it was like he took them out in his face, but you incredulous boys, what's wrong with you? The other gospels say Peace for you, how cool, but Marcos says he cut off your heads, You boy, don't you remember that I had said that I was going to come back again? We forget about things.

I think that for something my brothers is that in the book of Santiago, there is a very clear Word that responds to this, James chapter 1, verses from 19 to 25, look how it says, and for the record that I know I'm sounding funny but I am also preaching to the choir so we are all in the same boat, verse 19 of chapter 1 of James says: "For this reason, my brothers, all men and women, let us be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, because the The wrath of man does not work the justice of God, therefore, discarding all filth and abundance of malice, receive with meekness the implanted word which can save your souls."

Look at this: "receive the implanted word with meekness", it is as if they had put a hard drive in you and that hard drive is downloading the information from here, they are implanting information in your mind and heart. That was what Jesus did to his disciples, they were implanting a direct teaching in the heart of each one of them, in the heart of each one of the people who heard Jesus, ok, the triumphal entry to Jerusalem, what was it? What were they all yelling? Osana, osana, five days later, what were they yelling? Crucify him, crucify him, how can it be that in four, five days they will change their mentality so quickly? In a moment they are recognizing their Savior, their King, and on the other side this is a bandit, we are going to get rid of him.

I keep reading James, it says verse 22: "But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves, for if anyone is a hearer of the Word but not a doer of it, this is similar to the man and the woman who His natural face is considered a mirror, because he considers himself, but when he leaves, and then forgets how he was, but he who looks attentively at the perfect law, that of freedom, and perseveres in it, not being a forgetful hearer if not doer of the work, he will be blessed in what he does."

How many of you remember all the lines you had on your face this morning? Not even one. Very good that pride is solid, I'm glad for that, they ironed their face this morning to get all the wrinkles out, I mean the lines, not wrinkles, sorry. How many of you remember what was the image that Pastor Samuel presented in his message about Tell me about Jesus, what was the Jesus he presented, how many remember? The Lord sitting, ok, you remembered, very well, how many of you remember the image that Pastor Greg presented, what was the image that Pastor Greg captured? The Jesus who gives us talents and sends us to do business and then comes back to see what you did with your talent, did you see? They are very simple examples, moreover, what did Pastor Roberto preach about this past Sunday? That is very easy, about the resurrection, about the power of the resurrection. All these things my brothers, this is only a very brief exercise that I am doing to you, and this I am doing to you here, but when you are there in the thick of life, when you find day by day the achievements that can reach or the struggles that can be faced, how do we remember those words?, how do we remember that message that Jesus gave us?, I will be with you until the end of the world, do we live consciously that Jesus is with us all the days?. Do we remember those words and are we not being forgetful of those words, but our life day after day with each of our actions reflect what it is to live with an awareness of this? And that is my brothers where I come to these words of Jesus when he says that we are the salt and light of the world, of the earth.

It will be useless if after these five sermons that you have heard, or five reflections that you have heard, it will be useless for you to stay with that and keep it in your heart and there it is, life goes on, as it is , common and current, that is not the intention, the intention is not to come and do different things, put on light effects, make a stage to captivate the attention of the audience, or make videos, or sing new choirs , that will be worth nothing if after we hear that Word we continue living, hearing and speaking in the same way, it is worth nothing, for me that does not calculate in my head, my life has to reflect something different, my life has It has to reflect that I have heard something from Jesus, and even if it is a word of that, it has to remain recorded and it has to help me live with a different conscience, with a different way of proceeding in life.

If Jesus is the Lion of Judah who fights for me and is to be feared, I have to live with an awareness of that wherever I go. That if I face a problem I have to say in my heart hey, the one who is with me is stronger than anything that can come to me so I am going to face it in the name of the Lord. That if at some point I fail due to my sinful nature and I am there with a fault, there is God again, again, that I can remember the image of what Pastor Samuel presented, that there is a Jesus with a cane that is my guardian , who judges me, is the one who corrects me, but He knows that behind Him there is what?, a cross, on which there is an effect of grace that is taking place in me, and He knows who I am, He reminds himself that I am dust, and that He is working with me and is working with you at the level that you are, but we cannot forget those words, we cannot forget that Jesus told us that He is going to resurrect and that He is leaving. meet us sometime somewhere.

We cannot lead a life absent from that truth, if not that truth has to be there marking us at all times. I have to do that discipline my brothers, every morning when I get up, I ask myself okay Omar, how are you going to be aware of the reality of Jesus in your life today, what are you going to do to make a difference? . When you go down the street, how are you going to think when you go down the street. When you meet such a brother or such a sister that perhaps you like a little annoying, how are you going to do, are you going to turn the other way or are you going to face them in the love of the Lord? When your son or daughter makes your patience explode, are you going to burst or are you going to remember that the Lord calls you to be meek, to your own control and to let his love operate in you so that you can deal with them? No, if I keep giving examples I know that we can identify ourselves, at work, you meet someone who you don't deal with that person, even if they invite you to have coffee, dare you to invite that person to have coffee. Isn't that what the Lord invites us to do? That is the idea of being salt, what is the idea of being salt, of salting someone's mouth? Well, if you take the jar and pour it into your mouth, obviously it will mark that person's life, but if you use that dimension of salt in your life, to add it little by little until it is seasoning, it will not affect the life of that person, believe me. If you are one of those people who is kind of shy, and you don't dare to talk to someone at work because you know, I don't dare, there she is with her problems, I here with mine, what do I have to get involved in? me there? Look, who knows if God is not inviting you at that moment to be salt and light, and that you put your shyness aside, and that you can tell that person two or three little words that can change their day.

But that mentality that my business is my business and his business is his business and that I'm not going to do anything there, that mentality, do you know what it's doing? carried away by that, we cannot think like that my brothers, I am not saying that you are a presenter and that you get involved in what does not matter to you, I am not telling you that, what I am saying is that we learn to discern, when the Lord really calls us to be spiritually presented, so to speak, and to know how to get into a person's life for a certain moment to know how to give a seasoned word at the right time, to be able to shine a little in the darkness of that person and then come out and say look Lord I already did my part, now do yours and look take care of yours.

Who knows if that intervention is going to allow you to have other interventions with that person? I am not saying that you are the best friend of that person, but I am saying that perhaps on several occasions the Lord will use you so that you can shed a little light on that person, and that you help that person to see his life from another perspective that he had not considered before. I'm going to turn this story upside down, usually I tell him that when we go to the grocery store or whatever you say, when we see the cashier who is like that, half grumpy or half annoyed, something like that, that you dare to say a word to me, look, be happy , everything will be fine, what do I know, not necessarily God bless you, but say a word to that cashier, to get a smile out of his mouth, I say it like this now, if you are the cashier in a store and a grumpy average customer you on the cashier side tell him, hey, like the food.

No, don't say here you go, say enjoy your meal, here's your change, may God multiply it for you, but if I just spent it, it doesn't matter, may God multiply it for you, you know, you never know what can happen , one never knows what can happen, what I am saying my brothers is that those things that the Lord gives us have to come out in some way or another, that life that the Lord put in our hearts has to bear fruit in some time or another, I am not saying that we go crazy, because I have to evangelize the whole world, no, I am not saying that, evangelize at the moment in which God gives you the opportunity.

Make God's love known at the moment He gives you the opportunity. There are times when you are going to have to look for the opportunity and I ask the Lord to give you discernment to know how to look for that opportunity, but when the opportunity arrives there at the door of your environment and if you previously answered like no, I I don't know that person, he looks kind of grumpy, overcome that fear and look in the name of Jesus and look, how are you, say something to the person, that's what I'm talking about my brothers, is to take advantage of seeing Jesus in each one of the moments in life, here comes Roney and Obama is going to come out the other side, these characters are going to catch the media now again from side to side of the nation, in the midst of all these things the whole world is going to start Let's talk, look whose side you're on, and who you believe in and look, think yes about all those things but above that Jesus, what do you think of these two characters? They're worthless, what Jesus thinks of them is that It is up to Him to say it, but I bring this example my brothers so that we know how to still see Jesus in the midst or of those things, and see how Jesus takes a position concerning these things, that phrase that says what would Jesus do?, that we can see that and tell us, Lord, how would you respond in that case?

Yesterday I was able to see the consul of Israel sharing with the pastors of the Copani fellowship, and he will be here on Sunday in the second passing service, a very interesting person, he was sharing the service and they asked him a question about his perspective regarding Venezuela, and the mentions that Chávez has made against Israel, and I am amused because this man says that Venezuela is a beautiful country, he has been there too, and suddenly he comes out and says and I am very sorry why Venezuelans are having to suffer so much under a dictator and a person who is abusing each of them. And I see how this person who is from a country that is totally tiny compared to what Venezuela is, can still recognize that and be able to have a perspective of we love and respect Venezuela, but when we see a person who is not aligning to the values of that country, well look, we keep our distance, we have no relationship with that nation, only because of how this leader is proceeding with his people.

So there are times, I'm not saying that he was recognizing Jesus in this, but being able to make a distinction of where they are, helps me understand look, there are things that are happening throughout the world that we have to be okay with. alert my brothers, and be able to distinguish Jesus, in the light of your Word, where do you want me to stop, how do you want me to respond or act or react to this? Those are the questions that you my brothers have to ask themselves, I do not want to confuse you, really, I do not want to confuse you, but I do want to bring your attention to the fact that when we hear about Jesus, about the person of Jesus, his feats, his miracles, his words, his deity, his His power, his promises that all these things are to come somehow have to come to pass in our lives. It has to influence how we proceed in all things around us.

My call, my invitation to you my brothers is that we can continue to be salt and light in the midst of darkness, that we can continue to fulfill that call that the Lord Jesus gave us, if Jesus gave us that call it is because He knows that it can use us so that we can reach others. He wants to bless you without a doubt, He believes that you experience what it is to live for Him, but everything He gives us is also to share it with others, to do justice for my other brothers. Perhaps you will be able to think, no, I am a victim of injustice, no, in the Lord the justice of God operates in you, and you can be an instrument of God to do justice in the lives of others as well, but that is something that only we can do when we are well connected, well in tune with the author of that justice.

So my brothers, I'll leave you with that, tonight I extended, I know that I extended, we are preparing the video, don't put it on yet (laughs). Father, we thank you, Lord Jesus, for the opportunity that You have given us tonight to be here, to be able to sing, praise You, adore You, to be able to sing, to raise our requests before You, and also to be able to hear Your word, Lord. I pray that as we prepare to leave here Jesus that, that everything we have experienced today, what we have said and what we have done, those things may bear fruit in our lives, that Your words may continue to echo in our hearts, that You make us Lord to live each day more and more in the light of your call. We ask that when we leave here, Your words stay with us and make an impact in our hearts, and that we can live in the light of them, Lord, and that above all things that we can continue to be transformed into Your image. Bless my brothers, when offering, when they bring the offering too, and that when we leave here You take us with Your good, with Your protection to our homes. Thank you Lord for Your Son Jesus, amen and amen.
