Summary: The message today is about God continuing to create our lives, just like how He created the world in Genesis. Even when our lives seem messy and dark, God is there and His Spirit is moving over us. We need to wait for the light that God will bring into our lives, which is not just external but also an internal illumination by God Himself. Despite losses and difficulties, God can bring a new direction and meaning to our lives that will be good, just like how God saw His creation as good in the book of Genesis. We need to believe in God's plan for our lives and trust that what He brings will be good.
Brothers, today I would like to share the second part of the message that I shared last Wednesday, and for those who were not there last Wednesday, a brief summary, last week we were talking about failure as the matrix for success, recognizing that Many times when we start new things, such as the New Year, we can find aspects that are very difficult, in different aspects of our lives, and many times we think that failing in those areas is the most terrible thing that can happen.
But in God's mentality that becomes a seedbed for Him to do something great and greater in our lives, we saw the example of biblical characters who, it can be said, failed at some point in their lives, and how God raised them to new heights, to new levels, and the message we left with was the fact that we too as we proceed in life are going to face our failures, and we can't be afraid of those things, we have to face them. with courage and in the power of God, in order to be able to know those new dimensions to which God wants to take each one of us.
That is why today I wanted to meditate on this second portion of this message that has to do with this continuous development of the purpose and the call of God in the midst of our lives, the title that I gave this message today is, God continues to create your life. Think about that, God is at work to continue creating your life, God is forming every detail that involves who you are, and God is using all the elements around you to create in you the woman, the man that He wants to forge in you. person. And today I felt inspired by an email that a sister from the church here sent me about a reading based on Genesis, which has to do with those first steps of God's creation of the world.
How many of you know Genesis chapter 1 verse 1? What does Genesis chapter 1 verse 1 say? What does it say? "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth", that is the first sentence that appears in the Bible. And I began to inquire about this, and it is very interesting because when many interpreters see those words that God created the heavens and the earth, they do not necessarily mean that God created the heavens and the planet earth as such, but rather that God formed the entire cosmos, putting different planets, different galaxies in the place where each one corresponds, and in the midst of all that he found this sphere, this sphere that if I look at verse 2, look at what it says: "The earth was disordered and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep."
Look how interesting there is as a contrast between these two images, on the one hand we see those initial stages of God creating, of God forming, of God putting his hand in and making something that was not, but that initial creation although God began to form, it still had no form, it was disordered, it was full of darkness, it still did not have a total essence, and perhaps I am going to say something here that many interpreters of the Bible would say here, like Omar, you are interpreting it wrong, but I'm going to take this risk, I think it's going to make a lot of sense to us.
You know, we have read this passage many times and thought wow, how nice, God creating the earth, but there are times when we don't stop to think like wow, that initial touch was incomplete, something was missing, how interesting if I bring that thought to our lives now, that many times we can say that we can see, or feel that we have had an initial touch of God in our lives, but things still remain messy, the situation looks kind of dark, like How messy, things like they haven't fallen into place yet, and one tends to think, or the tendency is to think.
But if God has put his hand on me, why don't things fall into place once and for all? Why, if I gave myself to the Lord, why do I keep having problems with my husband or my wife? Why do I keep having problems with my children? Why does my neighbor keep blowing up my life with his pods over there? Why? Do they follow me wherever I go? It is that it is like that mere fact of thinking that, I thought that if I gave myself to the Lord, that if I said Lord, come into my heart, that already smoke, everything would be fixed at once, I thought that this addiction that I had ya pam, he was going to leave, I thought that talking bad all the time ya pam was going to leave me, and look I'm still going Uh!, pip pip pip, censored, censored.
Verse 2 goes on to say, "Though the earth was without form and void and in darkness, it says that the Spirit of God moved upon it", how interesting to know that even when to us things may seem to be formless and empty God is there. , I can think that the situation in my life looks kind of dark, without hope, however, God has another plan, do you know that in the Bible there are many images that can speak of this? How the presence of God He lived in the midst of the people even when they thought he was not there, when the people of God were in the desert God was with them during the day like a cloud and during the night like a pillar of fire, the presence of God, Moses when He faced the bush, God was in that bush, Elijah, I really like this one, after everything he did, he fled to Mount Orem, how was God's presence manifested?
In an earthquake, in a consuming fire, or in a small whisper?, Jesus and his disciples in the middle of a mountain at night, everyone had already gone to sleep, and suddenly there was this revelation, three characters with Jesus, and Jesus was completely transfigured before his disciples, there was the presence of God, and in the same way my brothers, no matter how dark your night may be, no matter how disorderly your life may seem, no matter how empty and meaningless you can feel right now, God is there, the Spirit of God is there, it is floating over your life, contemplating all that you are, seeing all that you have, examining different people around you, seeing how best to move all those parts so that everything works well for you.
The most beautiful thing, my brothers, about this story, my brothers, I do not want to paint a very dark scene here, my brothers, in the midst of that disorder, that emptiness, that darkness, we have to wait for the next word that God decrees at the time of the prayer, verse 3 says: "And God said", what did he say?, "Let there be light", you have to wait for the light that God decrees that time of light in your life. Look, it may be that now you are living in a stage of much light and I give glory to God for that, but at that time of creation, when God realized that things were a little dark and gloomy, he said look, let me do something that makes a contrast here, and it is interesting because when He spoke that word be the light, and this is where I say many interpreters will not agree with me, if I am clear that He himself is that verb incarnate, I am I am sure that when He said there is light, what He did was stand in the middle of that darkness and He Himself illuminated everything that was happening there, that is the light that I understand that God is going to bring into the midst of your life, in through your circumstances.
It is not that someone is going to light a candle for you, it is not that someone is going to light a flash light, it is not that they are going to take a lighthouse from there in Boston and they are going to light it all over your house, but rather the same God is going to be present in your life, that incarnate verb, is going to speak a word of light about your life, and it is He who is going to illuminate in the midst of that darkness, hear and where God is, there is freedom, where there is light, there all things begin to fall into place, so I encourage you my brother, my sister, this moment in your life is key. Whenever I stand here speaking these words, I am looking at your faces, and I cannot help thinking or at least imagining the different circumstances that you go through in your life.
I can see that a lot of you are saying yes amen to the words that I'm saying, but I also imagine that a lot of you are like hmm, like I can't bring myself to say amen to that yet, but you know what? ?, the time of light is going to arrive, I am not going to bring that light, God himself is going to bring that light, God himself is going to illuminate your situation, God himself is going to illuminate your mind, if up here, if it is head is what is messy and empty, right there God is going to light up, if it is your heart that is messy, dark and empty, right there God is going to light up, if it is your body that in some way or another, perhaps because of the sense of guilt that you can feel, that you say I am not worthy, my body is messy, dark and empty, God himself can light up.
Now, what are you going to believe? Are you going to believe that God is shining in your life? Or are you going to believe that it is what it is, I can't do anything else about this? Hm, let me think for a moment, this happens at times, do you know why I say this, my brothers? Because one of the things that I mentioned last Wednesday is that there are inevitably going to be situations that are not necessarily going to work as one. I would like, and there are going to be losses, and it's not that I'm becoming a prophet of bad things, I'm just telling the truth, but even in the midst of those losses, God can enter there and can bring a new way, to that emptiness What remains there, God can bring a new shape to that area in your life, God can give a new meaning and a new direction to your life.
I as a pastor cannot do it, a psychologist cannot do it, a psychiatrist cannot do it, your best friend, your best friend cannot do it, but He can. I encourage you, let's stand up, this message will be continued, but for now I want you to leave with this word of affirmation, doesn't the Bible itself say that God is light? I believe it, I believe that He is bringing a new time where his light will be shining on each of our lives, I look at some of you, and I know that perhaps your life in this present time may not have started as you expected, but God is bringing a new light, I want to believe it that way, that God is bringing a new light on your life, on your family, on your loved ones, your work, your inner struggles, God is bringing a new light, how are things going to turn? things?.
I know that according to the story of creation, everything falls into its order, and do you know what is the most beautiful of all? God ends up saying that it was good, God created light and said how good it is, divided the waters of the earth and said how good it is, he created the animals and said how good it is, he created man and said how good he is, and when he saw the man he only said, that is not too good, and he did it better then when he brought his companion , what God is going to do in your life is going to be good, believe it. Father, we look to you tonight, and we believe with all our might, with all our hearts, with all our minds, that what you are going to do will be good, it will be delightful, it will be your own glory in our lives.
I ask that this word, Lord, reach the heart of each one of my brothers and sisters very deeply. You know our darkness, you know the disorder that may exist within us, but we say, Lord, be your light, bring your light. bring your presence, you are light, illuminate our darkness, you appear in the midst of our lives, and remove, Lord, all those things that make sense of our being, and bring your meaning, bring your purpose, bring your direction, bring your encouragement, bring joy, bring peace, bring love, bring vision, bring creativity, Lord bring all your qualities, that they come true in the midst of our lives. Although it hurts but we believe that what You bring will be good, it will be good, it will be good, it will be good Lord, because You are good Lord and forever, to you we give all the glory and honor tonight, thank you for your word, hallelujah , amen and amen, thank you Jesus.
