Summary: The speaker discusses the importance of being radically committed to the Kingdom of God, using the example of the Sons of Issachar who could discern the move of God at a specific time. He emphasizes the need to actively unite with God's work and not criticize or remain indifferent. The speaker also reminds the audience that God is continually looking for people whose heart is fully committed to Him so that He can show His power on their behalf. The speaker encourages the audience to discern the times and prepare vessels for the anointing of God that is going to fall.
The speaker emphasizes the importance of discerning God's move and joining it, referencing biblical examples such as the midwives who helped the Hebrew women, Raab the harlot, and Michal, David's wife. He stresses that there is no neutrality when it comes to God's work and that those who despise or reject it will face consequences. The speaker encourages the congregation to be fully committed to God's purposes and to be willing instruments in performing his miracles.
The speaker talks about how God needs people to partner with him in the world and be instruments for his miracles. He uses the example of Mary, who surrendered herself to God's will even though it would bring criticism from her community. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of making a radical commitment to God and not being lukewarm or comfortable in one's faith. He encourages the congregation to discern God's timing and commit to being a resource for God's Kingdom through financial commitments and prayer. The speaker offers a moment for anyone who wants to give their life to Jesus and blesses those who raise their hands. The congregation then partakes in the Lord's Supper.
Let's go to the word of the Lord in Matthew Chapter 12. Remember what we are saying and that is that we don't just want to talk about the sanctuary. Soon we will finish this series of sermons. I am interested above all that you take principles that bless you in your daily life, in your daily life, in your walk with the Lord, in your membership and citizenship in the Kingdom of God. and this is what I want to do this afternoon, leave you a word that will enrich you, not only with regard to the sanctuary, because one day the sanctuary will be done and then, as I say, we will have to move on with the life of the Congregation and life as the people of God. so I want to leave you a verse only in Matthew Chapter 12 on which I will base my meditation. Matthew 12:30. Listen to what the Lord Jesus Christ says about himself, his person, he says:
“…Whoever is not with me is against me and whoever does not gather with me scatters…”
Wow! That is very profound, brothers, let me repeat it again, says the Lord Jesus Christ:
“…Whoever is not with me is against me and whoever does not gather with me scatters…”
And that is the essence of what we want to leave in your heart this afternoon. If you can please put me the powerpoint presentation. I want to talk to you about being people radically committed to the Kingdom of God. One of the principles that we always emphasize as a church, and it's in our vision statement, is that we want to develop men and women, radically committed disciples. That means militantly, deeply, passionately, and totally with the Kingdom of God.
We want to raise up a people who love the Lord desperately, a spiritual nation of militant people in the spirit, people who have gone headlong into the waters of the spirit, people who don't just put on a religious hat on Sunday to come to church, but that 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, they live the Christian life as much as possible and that they love the Kingdom of God above all things and that they are citizens radically committed to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
Now, there are a couple of things that are important for us to declare before the Lord. Originally a few months ago, I was reading a book by Jonathan Edwards, a great 28th century theologian here in New England. God did great things through the ministry of Jonathan Edwards, and there was a great revival here in the 1770's and 60's and something, where a great transformation came over this entire area of New England, a revival like you haven't seen in a long, long time. time in this nation or even in the world.
And yet in the heart of Jonathan Edwards there was a pain because not everyone discerned that move of God and there were many churches and many conservative pastors who opposed the revival because it was supposedly not ordered and that there were strange demonstrations and people fell , and there were cries and groans from people who were very powerfully touched by the Lord. That was long before the Pentecostal revival in the 20th century here in the United States, which then spread throughout the world. And Jonathan Edwards wrote a tract where he defended that revival and when I was reading that famous tract, I read something that struck me and reminded me about the work that we are doing in our sanctuary and the work that God is doing in this church and in this community.
And Jonathan Edwards says, "There are many examples in the word of God which show that when God manifests himself in an outstanding way in some work on behalf of his church, and against his enemies, it is extremely dangerous and highly offensive to God to be slow and late in recognizing and honoring God in that work.”
In other words, when God is moving in your community, or in the world, or in some sector of the world, it is important that we do not criticize, we do not lag behind what God is doing, because he says that it is extremely dangerous when you speak badly, when you criticize, when you don't understand what God is doing in the midst of your reality.
The only position that we can truly have with respect to the movements of God in the world is a position of total commitment, of total dedication, of passionate dedication to everything that the Lord wants to do. That is why I said this verse where the Lord says, "he who is not with me is against me." In other words, when God is moving there are only two options. Like when the Messiah was in the midst of Israel, whoever did not unite with Jesus was against him, there were Pharisees... if you read that entire passage from Matthew Chapter 12, you will see that Jesus was being criticized, attacked, there were people who I was looking at him with indecisive eyes, is it not? There were people who were looking for him for reasons of the food that he multiplied the loaves and fish, the healings that he did, but they did not see him as that Messiah sent by God. they were not radically committed to it.
And so the Lord therefore said this. Look, if you're not with me, one hundred percent, you're against me. If you do not participate in my work to bless the world, if you are not part of the one who distributes gifts, blessings, ministries, messages, good works on earth in my name, you know what? You are wasting.
In other words, people, what God tells us, look, this is important, because again it does not refer only to the sanctuary, this refers to your life, that if you are not actively involved in the work of Christ on earth, you are wasting It's not that I'm just, well, I'm not doing anything. No, doing nothing when God is moving is wasting. And you know what happens to the one who wastes the resources of the Kingdom of God, receives the attack, receives the condemnation of the Lord.
So it's important that we come together when God is moving in some way. Right now God is moving in a mighty way in our church. That sanctuary is a move of God. Look at something, I was talking to an Orthodox Jew, a well-known man in the Jewish community throughout North America, I was sitting with him in my office 3 days, 4 days ago, and this man is an eminence in the Jewish world in the United States. And God gave me the opportunity to converse with him in a precious way about the Gospel. There are things that were in our conversation that were truly amazing in terms of the opportunity to speak to someone who is very Jewish and very involved nationally with the Jewish people about Christ. And he himself is very aware that what God is doing in the Christian people in the world, is the only hope that Israel has right now that is being so attacked throughout Europe, throughout the world and completely isolated.
But when I had the opportunity to talk to him and to show him the east building and the other building next to it, he said something that struck me. He says, you know what? Wow, truly Christianity is not in danger in this church because he said, wow, what is happening in the world, Christianity is shrinking every day, in this very nation the values of the Gospel are dwindling but when he sees what what God is doing in this Congregation and we communicate many of the things that God is dealing with us, he said, there is no danger of Christianity disappearing here. And he said it with admiration and respect. Because? Because God is moving and God is impacting in many ways.
So when one discerns the move of God in an environment and when God is advancing his work, what Christ is saying is that the only thing we can do is unite, not attack, not criticize, not remain indifferent, not stay behind. No, we have to actively unite so that God can do what he wants to do in our midst.
So, that's the first thing I want to leave in your life. When God moves join in a radical way. The legitimate posture before God is one of passionate and radical adherence, a total surrender of all that we have and are, a total willingness to what God wants to do in our lives and how God wants to use us.
I have told you before, brothers, if I am here serving the Lord as pastor of this Congregation, if many of us are right now serving Jesus as pastors of this church, as leaders, it is because we have believed that, because God has the right to take our professional dreams, our personal ambitions, and when God says, I need you, the only thing one can say is amen, Lord, what do you want me to do? Here I am, send me. It's the only reason. God has the right to take whatever he wants from you. and when God is moving, everything belongs to him, everything you have, your bank account, your talents, your academic preparation, your profession, your life in general, everything belongs to the Lord and you have to give it to the Lord to the feet and say, Lord, use it as you want. That is the position of a son, a daughter of God.
So, we see here this passage in Second Chronicles 16:9 where God says, “…for the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth…”
Why do the eyes of the Lord, figuratively, run over the whole earth? To show his power in favor of those who have a perfect heart for him.
Say with me, perfect heart. What do you think a perfect heart means? It means a heart radically committed to the Kingdom of God, a heart that is not divided, there is no ambiguity, there is no ambivalence, it is totally merged with the heart of God. and you know what? What the Bible tells me is that God is continually looking among humanity for people whose soul, emotions, will, feelings, life are fully committed to him. So that? To show his power on their behalf.
Do you want to be blessed in your life? Do you want your family to grow and prosper? Do you want your finances to be good? Do you want your dream to be happy? You want your children to adopt and embrace the values of the Kingdom of God. Purify your heart, define your position towards God. Surrender the totality of your being to the Lord and I guarantee that God will show his favor towards you.
So that's what we want. That's why when we're working on this, you shouldn't see that as a burden, you shouldn't see that as a nuisance, and leave us alone. No. This is part of the benefit. And God will ask you many times throughout your life, join my work and let me use you.
So, you have to discern the times and if a work is from God, you have to support it unconditionally. When you see God moving, look, get up and get into function once and for all. Do you remember when David was installed after fleeing from Absalom? David had to spend some time outside of Jerusalem fleeing from his own son who had wanted to supplant him.
And when David returned from his exile, the Bible says that a group of people from Israel went to receive him to accompany him on his triumphal entry back to Jerusalem. And those people who discerned that this king was a man chosen by God and that he had to be brought back to Israel with honor, were greatly blessed by God. They are, in fact, their names recorded in the book of the Bible, their families are recorded there. Because? Because they discerned God's move in David's life and joined him in bringing him back to Israel with honor.
Among those groups and those families and those leaders who went looking for David, there was a very interesting group called the sons of Issachar. He says that of the sons of Issachar, 200 main, truly important men, he says that they were understood in the times. What does that mean? They were people who could discern the move of God at a specific time, they were people who could see the signs in the history, in the culture of Israel, and they knew how God was moving and how these people could discern that they joined David, because they knew something big was happening.
Brothers, I believe that God is doing something great at this time, in this church, in this nation. The best of times are ahead of this nation, a great harvest of souls. We have to discern the times and prepare the vessels for the anointing of God that is going to fall and our buildings, our programs, the preparation of our leaders, our discipleship program, our evangelism program, all these things, our internet program, are vessels. that we are providing to the Lord for when his visitation comes. We are discerning the times.
It says that these men knew what Israel should do and their saying, that is, their advice, their words, their observations were followed by all their brothers.
We want to be a Congregation that discerns what God is doing. We don't want to just live here coming on Sundays, preaching, doing church business and then going home like nothing is happening. We are a prophetic people. God is moving through us. God wants to do great things and that is why we are discerning and joining the work of the Lord.
Do you remember the midwives of Egypt who say that when Moses was born, Pharaoh wanted to kill all the male children that were born to Israel who were in Egypt? Because? Because he did not want God's people to prosper. And there was a group of women who were midwives, they were the ones who helped the Hebrew women to give birth. These women were Egyptian, the midwives, but when Pharaoh ordered those Hebrew children to be killed and aborted, they said, no, we cannot. This is the people that God has chosen. We are not going to participate in that massacre.
They helped the Hebrew women and told Pharaoh, hey, these women are so healthy that when we come to intervene they have already given birth. The sisters say, oh glory to God. I would like it to be so in my case. These women defended the people of God, they discerned the presence of God in the Hebrew people and you know what? The Bible says that these women were greatly blessed by God. God blessed them because they discerned God's will and joined it even at the risk of their lives.
Another case where a person discerns God's move and then joins him, Raab the harlot. How many know who Raab is? remember? She was a woman of disrepute, even. I don't know if she was a madam of a brothel or she herself participated in the prostitution business. The fact is that she was not a woman of good repute.
However, this woman had discernment and when the Hebrew spies came to enter Canaan as the spearhead for the invasion that was to come later on the part of the people of Israel, it seems that they were discovered and were being persecuted. And Raab, understanding that these men represented a nation blessed by God and that God had already withdrawn from the impious nations of Canaan and had given the land to the Jews, was not slow or lazy, she hid these spies, she protected them. And as a consequence of her protective act of the people of God, God blessed her, saved her family, protected the lives of all her relatives. And when the Jews came to destroy the land, her family was preserved. Not only that, but Raab became an ancestor of Jesus himself.
He knows that Raab was a distant ancestor of Christ. This sinful woman God used her to be an ancestor, ancestor of the Messiah himself. Because? Because he had discernment. By the way, look at something interesting. I have always been captivated by this and it is that in many cases in the Bible, forgive me brothers, women have sometimes been more discerning than men themselves, when God moves mysteriously.
That is a ñapa that you take, sisters, because those of 9 did not have time to tell you this. Look, for example, Raab herself, the midwives, the women were always very close to the ministry of Jesus. When the Pharisees were persecuting him, when the disciples left him on the cross, who were there present? Women. Who financed the ministry of Jesus? Pious and rich women. There are many such cases, it is interesting. Look at the case of Pilate's wife, when Pilate was undecided about Jesus, the wife had a dream and told him, look, do not mix your blood with the blood of this man, he is innocent. Don't be found fighting him. If Pilate had been wise, listen to me, if we had taken our wives, how many headaches would humanity avoid?
The only case where you guys didn't do a good job was with Sara, because Sara gave Abraham bad advice and look at the problem we have in the Middle East as a result. So guys, don't be too offended by what I'm saying. He says that things didn't go very well with Eva either, that's true. That really screwed up big time. So each one gets their little bit, forget it, that's always the case.
But it is interesting. How good it is, brothers, when we discern the secret move of God and we get in tune with it and we support it and we support it. It is the greatest blessing.
So, we always see, Raab helps God's purposes and is blessed. Midwives help God's purpose and are also blessed. In the Bible, brothers, we continually see when God is moving and one reacts...
Well let me summarize past before getting into this point. In other words, when we discern that something is happening in the world, and determine that it is a move of God, and we join him, and support him, and bless him, then the Bible says that we will be blessed and prosper.
I tell you, brothers, look, in this project and I tell you before the Lord, I am not manipulating you. If you join this and do your part, I'm not talking about you selling your son in the market to give him the money, or taking your wedding ring and going to a jewelry store… No, I'm not talking about that. I am simply talking about each one of us doing our part and giving to the Lord sacrificially, discerning in this that we are making a move of God and saying, you know, I am not going to be left behind, I am not going to hide in the row where I'm sitting. I'm not going to say, well, let others take care of it because this is none of my business. I didn't get into this, the pastor was the one who got into that mess, so get out as you can. No. You are simply going to do your part and if we all equally do our part, brothers, no one has to suffer, no one has to have a hard time because we are discerning God's move and each one of us is joining he.
So when we come together there is a blessing. Now the other is also true. When God is on the move and a person reacts with criticism, disbelief, contempt, indifference, look, almost always if not always, there is punishment and there is loss in that person's life.
Do you remember the incredulous prince in the case when Elisha was in the city of Samaria, I think it was, and someone correct me if it was not in Samaria, it was perhaps in Jerusalem, I think it was in Samaria. There was tremendous hunger. Don't think your pastor doesn't study the Bible, I do, but in this case a fuse blew. I believe it was in Samaria.
God's people were being invaded, hunger everywhere, the town surrounded for months, a woman had eaten her own baby from so much hunger, and it seemed that everything was closed. There was a terrible famine in Samaria. And for a moment the power of God moved in the prophet Elisha and Elisha declared and said, tomorrow there will be food. At this time tomorrow, a pound of flour will be worth 25 cents and two pounds of pork chops will be worth ─ well, if they were Jews they didn't eat pork, but let's say beef ─, they will be worth 75 cents. It says that a prince whose arm the king was leaning on, a very trusted man of the king said, hmm, sarcastically, if God made windows in the sky now, would this be possible? Disbelief. Contempt, criticism, resistance to the word of God. and what did the prophet Elisha say to him? Look, you know what? Tomorrow you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat it.
Do you know what happened to this unbelieving man? That when God did a terrible miracle killing all that great Syrian army that was encircling the people of God, that army ran away, they left all their provisions, all their treasures, all their food, and certainly what Elisha had prophesied was fulfilled in one in such a simple way, and when the people found out about it, they ran outside and ran over this poor man who saw the miracle but did not participate in it, as the prophet Elisha said.
When God is moving there is no option but to join him because whoever does not gather with him scatters, whoever does not work for him is against him. And so it is that God works in our own lives as well.
So let's remember another example: Michal, David's wife. Remember when God had done a great work and was bringing the ark back into Jerusalem? The ark was a symbol of the presence of God. As that ark was reentering after a time of exile to Jerusalem, David was seized by a spirit of praise and worship. And David stripped himself and in his underwear began to dance in the midst of all the people of God because David passionately loved the Kingdom of God.
But Mical, was a religious and indifferent woman and despised the manifestations of the people of God. and when David arrived at his house as content and happy because he had been able to worship the Lord in this way, Michal was waiting for him there with a somewhat unpleasant face, and he said, listen to me, how well the king has behaved, being ashamed as one more worker in the nation of Israel. In other words, Mical had not discerned that sacred moment in which David was offering the Lord his kingship, his dignity, everything, and he despised it.
The Bible says that Mical after that moment never had children. He was barren all his life. How terrible. He became sterile, do you know why? Because when one despises the move of God, there is sterility that comes.
It's what happened here in New England, look what happened? When those pastors and churches who despised God's move in the 28th century, you know what happened here in New England? Many of these Congregations left Unitarianism, which is a false doctrine, a terrible heresy. And New England is still suffering the consequences of that rejection of God's move practically three centuries ago. Because when the Lord is despised, the spirit of God abandons you. The blessings of God leave you, when you do not join what…
Jonathan Edwards wanted to say, what Christ is saying is the same thing. When we are not passionate enough when God moves, God considers that a disregard for his name and then comes a sense of loss and rejection from God.
So, Mical despised and therefore became completely barren. I don't have time to read it but you can look it up in Second Samuel, Chapter 6, verse 20 to 23.
So when God is moving there is no possible neutrality. You cannot be neutral, brothers. And it is like that in life, you are either with God or with the devil. That is simply so. Either you receive Christ as Lord and savior, or you are under the rule of Satan. No alternative. And the same thing happens when you enter the Kingdom of God, or you cooperate, work, join what God is doing, or you are wasting it, and you have the reward of the useless and unfaithful servant who despised the gift of God and put it in under a bushel and hid it and did nothing with it, and then he carried the evil will of God.
Either you actively unite with the power of God and his work, or you find yourself in opposition to him or you distribute or scatter. Now, let me get this straight, brothers, I'm not here using this to scare anyone. Let me tell you, I received that word when I was reading this piece, regardless of all this, I was on a plane. I think it was going to Chicago or something like that, and I was reading this work by Jonathan Edwards who I admire so much, and I was so struck by this apologetics that he was doing about God's move here in New England and all the time he devoted to shore up that fact that I said, wow, and the light bulb went on. I have to share this message with the Congregation, that when you enter the Kingdom of God it is for a radical commitment, it is to serve the Lord in all things.
And what is happening here is just an extension of this. As I was saying this morning, one day that temple will be built and it will no longer be an issue in our Congregation, but this spiritual principle of radical commitment or waste will be valid for the rest of your life. And the people that God blesses are those who are radically committed to the Kingdom of God.
I want this church to be like the Jews, blessed wherever they go. I want to see this town prosper, brothers, I want to see people enriched, I want to see people enlightened intellectually, I want to see young people filled with the Holy Spirit taking their professions forward. I want to see a well-managed church, I want a community that is the envy for the glory of God of the community out there. And that will only happen when our hearts are fully united with God's purposes, when each family, each individual is a person fully committed to what God is doing in the community.
The last thing, sometimes God will be at work in the world and he's looking forward to finding someone to step in and be a partner in what he's doing. In other words, there are times when God needs to do something in the world, He will look for someone and they will need someone who not only supports, but who is the protagonist, who is an instrument, who is the man, the woman that God uses. to perform his miracle. And it will require a person to say to the Lord, Lord, present, I give you my resources.
It occurs to me right now, I don't have it here in the notes, the Virgin Mary, when God wanted to make a powerful movement in the history of humanity, and bring the incarnation of his Son to the world, I imagine that he wondered why wait a moment, let's imagine it like this, God doesn't wonder anything because he knows everything, but he wondered, where is there a woman who will lend me her womb and who is worthy of being the bearer of the mysterious and magical body of that God-man that I am i going to create myself And the Lord found a virgin, the virgin Mary and sent his angel and he said to Mary, 'Mary, you have been chosen for this.' There was no this woman to fill, I imagine, God's prescriptions. and Maria had to count the price.
Imagine that maiden for the moment who was going to get pregnant without having yet met a man, or married her betrothed, and what people were going to say about her and think about her. Because we have greatly spiritualized the drama of Mary. You have to understand that this maiden was going to be the object of much criticism from her community, that she was not going to understand that it was God who had made this possible and that he was raising up his Messiah.
And what did Maria say? Behold the servant of the Lord, be done with me as you want. Because when God wants to do something powerful in the world and in history, he needs a man, he needs a woman, he needs a church, he needs a nation, and it is important that God finds in us that people who say to him, Lord, we want what you are doing here right now, to bless families, that you multiply it and that one day I see the Latino community coming to the feet of the Lord in large numbers, and God using us for his glory, to do this. But where are we going to put it? We need a bigger place.
Right now the ministry in English is also growing and I know that one day God is going to raise up a very powerful English-speaking church here in the community where it is so needed, filled with the Holy Spirit, a transformative church and this is the place, that sanctuary that now we use it, they are going to occupy it and they are going to fill it also for the glory of God, and a powerful church in English is going to rise up and they are going to need a space too. They barely fit in the other place anymore and this is going to be the space that they are going to inherit when we go there to that other place.
So, God is saying, I want to build up a very powerful, very influential community and I want you to prepare the vessels on which my oil will fall. God always needs vessels, God needs widows to give food to his prophets, God needs widows who have the faith to buy many empty vessels or borrow them so their oil can fit, and to be blessed too and bless their prophets. Both things are necessary.
And that is what we are doing. But it takes a man, a woman, a church, who says, Lord, we put our resources at your disposal. Mary put her womb at the disposal of the Holy Spirit. You have a spiritual matrix that you can make available to the Holy Spirit at this time when God is also moving.
You can be the protagonist of what God wants to do. It takes people like David who when he saw the problem of Goliath cursing the people of God, bringing shame to the divine king, said you know what? God is calling me to decapitate that giant and he said, present and took, assumed command and faced Goliath. Because? Because he said God needs someone, here I am, Lord, use me.
Peter put his boat at the disposal of Jesus Christ. Remember when the Lord was surrounded by a powerful crowd and the crowd pressed against him. He saw Peter's boat, remember? And Pedro was there in a tremendous recession, like today, in 2011. He had been up all night trying to fish and the fish were on strike. The sea was in recession, there was an incredible maritime depression at that time.
And Peter was there washing his nets one fruitless night, he had caught nothing and the boat was unused. The Lord has a need, he wants to preach to such a large crowd, withdraw a little bit and ask Peter, let me use your boat. Peter gives the boat to the Lord. The Lord gets on it, withdraws a little from the shore, preaches the word, feeds the crowd. And then he says, Peter, now come, get on your boat and we'll go out into the deep. And that day Peter pulled out a miraculous catch that he had to ask others to come help him. Because? Because he offered what he had to solve the pressing situation that the Lord was facing and he too was blessed.
Not only did he catch a multitude of fish, but God there gave him his ministry through Jesus, and told him, from today you are going to be a fisher of men. And still 2,000 years or so later we are remembering Peter as a great Apostle, because he gave that little boat to the Lord.
Imagine what would have happened if Peter had said, Lord, you know what? I already closed the store. That boat is no longer in use for today. How terrible. But because he put his boat at the disposal of the Lord who needed that boat at that moment, God blessed him greatly. God is always saying, I want someone to stand in the gap. And unfortunately many times there is not. That's there in Ezekiel 22. God wanted a preacher, a prophet, someone who would preach to Israel and help Israel turn from their wicked ways, and he couldn't find one and had to destroy the people and put them into exile.
How sad when God looks for people, he looks for a Congregation, because God wants to do what he wants, he doesn't need our help, but God never does anything except through us. God is going to use you, he is going to need you, in quotes, so that you carry out his work, because God likes to work with his people and never say of us that God sought us and did not find us available.
Finally, and I ask the musicians to please stop by and get ready. Brothers, when we enter the Kingdom of God it is to make a radical commitment. God hates the spiritual lukewarm, merely adequate people. God hates the comfortable and indifferent mentality. Remember what he said to the odyssey in the letters he wrote to the churches, he said, because you are neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. Because? Because he who does not gather with the Lord scatters. He who is not with him is against him.
It is important to unite because the intermediate positions do not please the Lord. Mere religiosity deeply displeases God because it represents an underestimation of his incomparable greatness and glory.
You know, the greatness of God is so great, the power of God is so great, the glory of God is so great that the only legitimate reaction before his lordship, his great power and his glory is total surrender, adherence and inclination before him. Anything less than something that lives up to its royalty is an insult. And how good it is that we are now within the Kingdom of God, we have taken sides with God and God tells us, do not be a mediocre Christian, do not be a comfortable Christian, do not be a religious Christian, I want you fervent in spiritual warmth, totally delivered to my purposes.
Let's stand up, brothers. People of God, Lion of Judah Congregation, brothers and sisters who are committed to the Kingdom of God, we are going to have one more moment in a second and this is going to be brief, but also solemn. We have done so many things, this has been a feast, brothers, this afternoon and I beg you not to underestimate the importance of what we are going to do in a second after taking the sacrament. We need those symbols to be strengthened as well.
But before that, I want you to look at what is here in front of you and stay there for even a moment, while we celebrate the Lord's Supper. I ask you, man, woman of God, discern God's time, at this moment in the history of Boston and your Congregation. Next Sunday when we call God's people to reconsecrate themselves to their financial commitments, when we call others to commit for the first time to be part of this miracle and bring their offering, I ask you this week to pray to the Lord to affirm your heart , if you have already made a commitment and have not yet fully complied, make a commitment. If you want, we would love to see promises fulfilled early, because they help us have a positive fund to be able to pay the expenses of this construction in advance.
If you have already fulfilled your promise and God moves you in your heart, like David, to give an even more generous offering to God and say, you know what? I am going to join my church again and I am going to give even if it is a thousand, two thousand dollars more, whatever God puts in his spirit, 500 dollars, 1000 dollars, whatever, ten thousand, a million, what to say just small numbers, whatever God puts on your heart. You may want to renew your vows in that regard.
And if you have forgotten your promise for reasons of work, or lack, look, believe God and put your hand back on the plow and move on. Give back through your financial commitment, your prayer, and commit to being a resource for God's Kingdom all, all of your life.
Let's bow our heads for a moment, brethren, and I would also like to make sure that if someone, I'm not even going to ask them to come forward, but if someone wants to give their life to Jesus this afternoon, and say you know what, Lord? I have not committed to you yet, and I am scattering because I am neither with you nor am I opposed to you, but you tell me that if I am not radically with you, then I am against you, that if I am not sharing your blessings with you in the world, then I am wasting, scattering and not using positively and despising what you are doing in the world. And I want to take sides with you.
I would like to see your hand raised and give you an opportunity to give your life to Jesus, where you are I am going to bless you and I am going to pray for you. You don't even have to come forward here, because the Lord knows your heart and knows what you need, but if there's someone who hasn't done it yet, raise your hand this afternoon and I'm going to pray for you. Is there someone? We want to make sure before entering the Lord's Supper. This sister is raising her hand there. I bless you, woman of God in the name of Jesus, your heart, your life. A brother there also raises his hand. Glory to the Lord. Keep your hand up. Another hand I see there too. God sees you better than even me. There a hand is raised, another person here too. amen.
Brothers, I bless you in the name of Jesus. Each of you is a treasure of God and the Lord tells you now, join my move, I receive you into my kingdom and I want you to walk with me and I with you, hand in hand. I will never leave you or forsake you. Honor me, prefer me and I will make sure that I always have the best for you, the best blessing.
A sister back there also raises her hand. Glory to God. Reach out to one of those hands that's been raised a moment, brother, you see them, you're near them, bless them. There behind also that sister who is there. The brothers who are behind her, around her, bless her. Pray for her.
Wherever there is a raised hand, declare God's blessing on that life. We bless your life, man, woman of God. God welcomes you into his kingdom. You are no longer scattering, you are collecting with the Lord. You are not against the Lord, you are for the Lord and the Lord is for you. We bless your life and declare the defeat of all power contrary to your prosperity, your health, your blessing, your spiritual growth, the blessing of your family.
We break all curses in life our brothers and sisters and declare a prosperous walk before God. Surrender everything you are, everything you have, all your dreams to the Lord, and you will see that God's blessings will not wait. We bless your life. Thank you, Lord, establish your holy purposes in our brothers. Thank you for what you are doing in this town, Lord. And we declare that we will see greater things for the glory of your name. Honor, Lord, your people who believe in the faithfulness of your promises. Now bless us Lord as we partake of this sacred supper and give us your blessing in everything. Thank you Lord, in the name of Jesus.
