Summary: The message is titled "X-ray of the Heart" and the speaker talks about how all of us have a heart condition that needs to be filled with the love of God. He refers to Hebrews 4:12-13, which says that the word of God is alive and effective and can discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The speaker then uses the example of an angioplasty to explain how even small things, like a clogged artery, can cause big problems if left unchecked. Similarly, the speaker says that Jesus takes x-rays of our hearts and wants to deal with those areas that are not healthy. He encourages listeners to identify any blocks they may have in their hearts, such as anger, greed, or idolatry, and attend to them before they cause bigger problems. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of taking care of oneself, both physically and emotionally, and not being a slave to work.
The speaker talks about how small things can have a big impact on our health and uses the analogy of clots in the body. They then transition to talking about how Jesus wants to treat our hearts and form us in His image. The prayer at the end asks for God's blessing on everyone and for wisdom and discernment to hear His voice and fulfill His purposes.
You can go with me to the book of Hebrews, Hebrews chapter 4, I have a little message that I would like to share with you. Today's message is titled: “X-ray of the Heart”. Let me tell you that all of us have a heart condition, and I don't necessarily mean a physical condition, I mean our need, that our hearts need to be filled with the love of God, they need to be filled with a touch from God.
Hebrews chapter 4, verses 12 and 13 says like this, I think many of us know it, it says because the word of God is alive and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword and penetrates to split the soul, and the Spirit , and the joints, and the marrow, and discerns the thoughts, and the intentions of the heart, and there is no created thing that is not manifest in his presence, rather all things are naked and open to the eyes of him, to whom we have to account.
"X-ray of the heart", you know, eh, I don't know how many of you came to hear the message that I preached about two Sundays ago, whoever titled it: "Encounters with Christ that transform lives", if you haven't heard it, you can go to the internet and listen, but after I preached that message again that word, it did so much, it impacted me so much, that I kept meditating on different things, I have been preaching that message to myself for these last two weeks, I tell myself Lord, I want to meet with you, I want to meet with you, I want to know you more.
And one of the things that the Lord has put on my heart, while I was reflecting on some passages, I have been reading some things, yes, in the book of Luke, and one of the things that I could see, over and over again, are moments when which Jesus knew, perceived, was able to discern the intentions of the hearts of the people who were around him, Jesus in his sovereignty managed to know what the people really needed, or what they were plotting in one way or another, therefore I asked myself the following question, if Jesus took an x-ray of our heart, of my heart, of your heart, what would he see?, what would he find?, do you have the video ready, Lucy?, I want to show them a video, today I became half a doctor myself, I wanted to highlight one of those wild dreams that I have of being a doctor, a cardiologist sometime in my life, I am a spiritual cardiologist so to speak, let's show this video for a moment, I I want, this, stop, stop, pau, pause, piuf, okay.
This video is like an illustration of what an angioplasty is, how many of you have heard of one, what an angioplasty is, yes, you know what an angioplasty is, whoever doesn't know will find out now, but in a In summary, an angioplasty is a procedure that is performed on a person who has a clogged or blocked artery in the heart due to the cholesterol that may be in the veins, those people who eat a lot of chicharrón and a lot of pork chop with a lot of fat, things like that, those who who are listening out there be very careful, those people who, instead of cutting off the little edge of fat and throwing it aside, take that same little edge and eat it too, who eat a lot of bulls and chistris, and a lot of soda, and a lot of things like that, which is not very healthy, these people can run a very big health risk.
So angioplasty is a procedure where doctors insert a catheter through the artery in the femoral area, up that catheter through the entire artery, up through the aorta to the heart, and after they insert that catheter, through that same catheter, they insert it like a little balloon that is empty and that little balloon is taken to the place in the artery of the heart where it is blocked, they inflate it to open up that artery and the blood can flow once more, so let me show you this procedure, because there is something very interesting that I want you to see here, go ahead teacher.
Take a good look at where the blockage is, okay, you can stop it right there, did you see where the blockage of that heart was? crushed, and that is something that, obviously, no eye can see unless it is through a machine, and they know that this little problem that can be so tiny is what has caused the death of many people, because they are people that, like many perhaps, many of us know these types of people who do not take care of their health and wait until they are already there with the pressure about to explode so that they can go to the doctor and there are some who even take care of themselves and don't even go to the doctor Those types of people who, when they have a headache, there is no one to make them take medicine and they prefer to suffer the headache, those types of people who can have the Flu and are dying and it isn't until someone comes and finds them. lying on the floor, which then they say, okay well give I never went to the doctor, instead of going before, when I was already feeling the symptoms, do you understand where I'm going? The type of person who does not take care of himself, who little by little, slowly and progressively what they are looking for is death.
That x-ray demonstrates something so small, but it has a solution, and you know that Jesus takes x-rays of our hearts in the same way. And only he has the ability to get into the most hidden places of our lives, and find those places that to us seem like they are not doing anything, or that to us seem to be harmless, or that to us it seems that they are not doing anything for me. to kill, but when the Lord sees it, he says, there is a problem here, in that tiny space of your heart, there is a problem here and it must be dealt with.
These are the x-rays that the Lord Jesus makes of our lives constantly, now but look at what an interesting dynamic, because when you go to the doctor, what is needed to take you to the doctor, right now I am "Over do", of get a physical two years ago. And my mom calls me the other days, I like the good "Mama's Boy" that I am, my mom calls me and says: Look my son, have you already made the appointment to go see a doctor? Yes mommy, I promise I'll call tomorrow, that was two weeks ago, I haven't called yet.
What is needed for one to go to a doctor and really take care of their health, but then when we go to the doctor, and the doctor examines us and checks us and starts saying, look, you have this, you have to take care of this, you have to make adjustments here , adjustments there, what many of us say is, hup!, yes doctor, of course, it will be until next time and we leave and continue living our lives as if nothing had happened.
We reach a point where we have to undergo a slightly tougher, more difficult intervention, and after we get out of there, no yes, now if I'm going to take care of myself, two three months go by and after three months we eat chicharrón again, chop, mofongo, we began to eat all those good things that the doctor told us not to eat, and you know that in the midst of all this I wondered, I said to myself, wow Lord, we are so and so similar to you, because you as a doctor you want to deal with us, you want to deal with those areas of our lives, that you see, that you know are there, that you know can hurt us, but we continue to live life as if, piff, as if nothing, ah no, time heals that, time is going to take care of cleaning all that cholesterol in my veins, of course, what time is going to do is accumulate it even more, even more, until your heart says I can not anymore.
We do the same thing many times with, with sin, with behaviors that offend God and offend others, we believe that they are things so, so tiny, so tiny that we, nap! People are going to get used to it with time. time, but we don't know the more time passes, the more things accumulate, the more you continue to clog the arteries of your spiritual heart, until the time comes when you will realize that you no longer feel anything, you don't feel anything for the people you have by your side, who love you, you don't feel anything for God, and life is like that piff, fleeting, you are living life from day to day, without meaning, without reason or rhyme.
And we realize that day after day the Lord is taking x-rays of our hearts to let us know how we are in front of him, to let us know those areas that he wants to work with us, that is what he wants to do, he wants a healthy people and he wants healthy sons, daughters, who can live that abundant life, that only he can give, now, I am not saying that we are irresponsible, because I know that we are dealing with God, that is what each patient responsible for He checks his health with his doctor, he checks up routinely, if the doctor tells him look, do this, do that, do that, incorporate an exercise routine, go on a diet, take your Lipitor, or whatever you have to take , and one goes there little by little carefully, taking care of oneself, the doctor tells you look, instead of working 60 hours a week, he works 40, no, but those other 20, I need the money, if I don't, nobody does it He's going to do it, look, you know what, the day you die in your job, they will get another person easily and they forgot about you, but the ones who will suffer are the ones who love you the most, who are the people who are next to you, so never be a slave to work, never let work, look, I learned something from my father-in-law, and there are some who maybe don't get along very well with their father-in-law, but I thank God for my father-in-law, and my father-in-law once taught me something, he it was like him, Aaron, no, he was the father-in-law of Moses, Jethro, that's my Jethro so to speak, he told me once, very wisely, he told me, Omar you have to learn something, you work to live, You don't live to work.
Did you understand the dynamics of that? Obviously I know that one has some needs, one has some things, which one has to attend to, but look at that, even that, I don't know why I am emphasizing this work dynamic, but whoever gets the droplet, you know how I always say, let them get wet, okay. But receive this my brothers, even those aspects of our lives we have to take good care of ourselves, the daily routine can easily fool you and, when you come to see you are up to here, not up to here, you are up to here, and those are things that affect , not only our physical health, they affect our emotional health, because then one is under emotional stress all the time and that stress is reflected in the family, the children receive you very happy, very happy, they want to hug you, they want to play with you and you're like, don't hit me, leave me alone and there are times when we even say things that we don't even have to say, you arrive at church and you're grumbling all the time and the brothers want to greet you with a very joyful hug, and you blblbblrr.
God wants his blood to run efficiently through our veins, that blood that restores all things, that reconciles us with him, and look at us, we have to know how to identify some of those blocks that we have in our hearts, attitudes, character, anger, greed, grudges, any idolatry that we may have, any inclination that we often think, ah, that's nothing, no, keep an eye on that.
How is it that they tell diseases that clots are present, when a clot that starts in a leg and suddenly reaches the heart, and the person, prf! How come they call that? A "Stroke", exactly, a stroke, exactly, thank you, and that gives you a stroke, look, things as simple as that, perhaps, perhaps the message that I want to communicate to you today, those x-rays show small and tiny that many times we are not even aware of it, but that if we do not attend to those small things they can affect us.
What is it that God is wanting to let us know, those little things in our lives, that we think do nothing, beware, those little things in your life, the Lord Jesus wants to work in you, he wants to put his catheter on those sides that are often uncomfortable, I have spoken with several people who have had to undergo an angioplasty, and they know one of the things they tell me is that this little tube, no matter how small it is, when it enters the body it creates a sense of pressure, people feel a pressure like that in their entire interior, and it is as if they are squeezing, when they inject that liquid to be able to see the arteries of the heart, that, the fosch of that liquid also causes pressure , it causes discomfort, there are people who get dizzy, there are people who even feel nauseated, but all this is the effect of the type of treatment they are receiving, if that does not happen, there is no cure, you know that, there are times when the Lord Jesus has to cause that kind of pressure in our lives, that when he gets into those hidden places of our hearts and starts working there, he injects his blood into us and that blood causes pressure that makes us uncomfortable, that discomfort in the end ends up being for our good.
So my brother, my sister, today we received a medicine class, and what kind of medicine, to know that Jesus wants to treat your heart, this is it, I'm going to leave this "to be continued", because look at the time that is, I ran out of time today.
Today has been so good that I really disconnected from time, let's stand up my brothers and let's pray. I had another part there, but I'm going to leave it for the next one, that's why I say that it is “to be continued”, Hah, thank you Jesus. Father, I thank you for the opportunity that you have allowed us to be here today Jesus, to be able to rejoice in you, to be able to pray, to be able to intercede, to be able to delight ourselves in your presence, to celebrate in your presence, to be able to declare that this is a night of new beginnings and of being able to receive from Your word the fact, Lord, that You are scrutinizing our hearts, that You are the one who is analyzing everything that we are, to make us and to form us more and more to Your image, to the format that You want us to have in our lives.
So, Lord, look, as we prepare to leave here today, I ask that You be upon each one of my brothers and sisters, Lord, that Your blessing abounds upon each one, and as I said at the beginning, Lord, I return it to say now at the end, that when we leave this place, we can leave with the conviction that You will fulfill your purpose in the midst of our lives, that all things will work out, so that Your purposes are fulfilled in our midst , You Jehovah who cares for our lives, You who direct us, You who are our God, our King, Lord we ask that You fulfill that purpose in our midst and that you give us the wisdom, the discernment to be able to hear Your voice, discern Your will and know how to respond to it.
Bless each one of my brothers and sisters Lord, from the youngest to the oldest Lord, I ask your blessing on them, the people who have visited us today Lord that they can leave here blessed, impacted by Your love Jesus and that throughout the night Lord, that You give us a peaceful, deep, restful sleep, that that bed be like Your hand Lord, and that we can rest in Your presence, and that tomorrow if You allow it, if it is your will, we can manage to do what tomorrow brings, so Jesus bless each one of my brothers and sisters, bid us farewell from here with your blessing and thank you once again for the pleasant gift of being here in this place Lord, sharing with one another, by Your name Jesus we pray and thank You, Amen and Amen.
