Summary: The importance of having a heart that pleases God is the topic discussed in this sermon. The speaker emphasizes that we often don't know what is in our own hearts and need God to test us through people, situations, and environments that influence our lives. Time and trials also reveal what is hidden in our hearts. The speaker uses examples such as Solomon and Lucifer to illustrate how even the most perfect creation can have something inside that comes to light, distorting their perspective and hurting them. The Psalmist David and Deuteronomy 8 are referenced to show the importance of asking God to examine our hearts and bring out what is inside.
The heart is the most important thing to God, and it is what attracts His favor and blessing. Therefore, we must examine our hearts and allow God to shape and form them through a process of testing and experiences. We must seek to have a healthy and honest heart that is pleasing to God, and we can do this by filling our hearts with the word of God, making a pact with the truth, giving our lives to God, asking Him to continually search our hearts, and putting the acquisition of a well-formed heart above all other goals in life.
To have a well-formed heart, we need to ask God to continually search our hearts and reveal anything that is not pleasing to Him. We should prioritize acquiring a heart that pleases God above all other goals in life. This should be the driving force of our lives. When we have a heart that pleases God, it will bring happiness, fruitfulness, and abundance to our lives.
We started in an almost unexpected way a subject last Sunday about the heart, and God shaped it a little differently as I was dealing with it here from the pulpit, but we have been meditating on the importance of a heart that pleases God , I would say that this could be the title of this double meditation, no, a heart that pleases God, that is what we want for our life, that is certainly what I want, that it be pleasing to my heavenly Father. A heart that when He looks at it He can see something that brings him a smile, and the goal of our life should be that.
Many times we do not even know what is in our own heart, one does not know what is in the heart of a person, as I was saying, even people who have been very close to us, and that is why we need God, as we were saying, to test us, through the people, the influences that we have around us, the places to which we are going to submit, our schools, our university, a seminar, a long-term relationship, an environment where we meet, a city where we are going to live, a including culture, we have to be careful to discern the things that are entering our lives, because these things are going to enter our hearts.
I spoke to them about the heart for God, and one of the most interesting characters, who knows for how many centuries, ages, did not know what was in his heart until a certain moment arrived. I was saying there are two things that test the heart of an individual, a man, one is time, because in the long term what is hidden in the heart comes to light, because one can endure it for a certain time, but it comes to light what they are hidden, and also the tests, because in moments of great pressure when things are really tight, and a person has to make a decision, when a large but undue gain comes, when an opportunity comes to do something that will it will give great pleasure but you know it is wrong, when you have a great need and there is an opportunity to cut a corner and get what you need because you have to pay something, or because otherwise they are going to take away your house or whatever it is and you say, well since the Lord did not help me I can help myself, you come and make a decision, you do something wrong, something illegal, an opportunity to speak ill of a person, until that moment someone influences you or you excites to say it, in Then the trials of life often bring to light what is hidden in the heart as well.
Or time passes, certain things happen in life that seem to change our hearts, and bring to light other things that were there, for example, Solomon, in his old age, late in his life, the many concubines , and all the women that he allowed, perverted by idolatry to other gods, God told him not to mix with those cultures, do not give your sons or daughters in marriage to those people because they will twist your heart towards their idols, and indeed That happened to Solomon, he did not listen to that warning and it ended at the end of his life, he says that his heart was not perfect for God because it was turned towards the demons, and he introduced idolatry and curses to the people of Israel, something they had to struggle for centuries and centuries.
Lucifer, may the Lord rebuke you, that's what I was thinking, right? Look how interesting, Lucifer was an angel of light, the pinnacle of God's creation, in all of creation there was no more luminous being, Lucifer, more beautiful, more perfect in a sense, and talented than Lucifer, Luzbel, was created in a way, and yet at a given moment something that was inside of him came to light, how come I didn't ask me, but look what it says here Ezekiel, chapter 28, in verse 11, here Lucifer is given the name of King of Tire, because in the Bible these characters like the prince of Persia, the king of Tire, are demons, spirits that rule nations. Obviously this character cannot be a man, a human being, if you read the entire chapter 28 the bible commentators have almost unanimously concluded that this is a prophetic reference to that demonic spirit called Lucifer who later becomes Satan, for many reasons you clearly see that it cannot refer to a man, it says in chapter 28 verse 11, "The word of the Lord came to me saying, son of man, raise a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, thus said the Lord Lord, you were the most beautiful of perfection, full of wisdom, and finished with beauty, in Eden, except Adam, Eve and the Serpent, in Eden the garden of God you were, of all precious stones was your garment, cornelian , topaz, jasper, chrysolite, verino and onyx, sapphire, emerald carbuncle and gold, and the delicacies of your tambourines and flutes were prepared for you on the day of your creation Human beings are not created, Adam and Eve were created , but Satan was c created, it is a creation of God.
Human beings, Adam and Eve, have been generated, but this being was created, configured, from the mouth of God or the hand of God. It says: "you, big cherub, refers to an angel", a cherub is absolutely the highest of creation, "you big cherub, protector", how interesting, Satan was created to protect, today it is the opposite, He only knows how to steal, kill and destroy, many times the gifts of God when they are not used perfectly are twisted and end up being the opposite, music God has declared, he gave it to Satan, Lucifer was a being that was like the worshiper of the Heaven, he was given the talent to play, he was not a musician, he was a musician, he did not play the flute, he was a flute, he could reproduce sounds, and he could do incredible things through his worshipful character, he was created to worship God, and to protect to the humanity of creation.
It says: "I placed you on the holy mountain of God, there you were, in the midst of the stones of fire I gave you beans, you were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created, until evil was found in you." In his heart it was discovered as a black dot. This morning I thought of bringing a glass sculpture, of pure crystal, that we have, there are several there, but you see the pure crystal, what is beautiful crystal, it is a precious, transparent thing, it shines, it shines, but if you I could put a syringe inside that glass and I could inject a little black ink, you would see what would damage it, and that's how it happened in the heart, how long was Lucifer in heaven worshiping, but for some reason, I can't explain How can God create something perfect, because angels are very strange creatures, and we don't understand their biology, angels are there between man and God and something strange isn't it?
The fact is that God created him this way, and at some point in his immense career, there was something in his heart that was hidden there, and time and opportunity revealed that to him, and he says: "Because of the multitude of you were full of iniquity and sin, and you sinned, for which I cast you from the mountain of God and cast you among the stones of fire." If you want to know the origins of Satan there it is, this is the text, the church through the centuries, has taken the origin of Satan. It says: "I threw you among the stones of fire, oh protective cherub, your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor, and I will throw you to the ground, before kings I will put you to see With the multitude of your iniquities and with the iniquity of your trades you desecrated your sanctuary, so I brought fire from among you, which consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth, in the sight of all who saw you. look, all those who know you from the towns will marvel at you, you will be terrified and you will cease to be forever". That is the destiny that God has prepared for Lucifer, but you see what happens, right?
When we don't take care of what's in our hearts, at any given time, circumstances, situations can distort our perspective, and can hurt. When God discovered this element of him wanting to compare himself, read chapter 8, compare himself with God, he looked so big, so beautiful, so powerful, so perfect that he said hey, what do I have to be worshiping this being if I can be the same that He, pride, arrogance, wanting to replace God, and immediately God discerned this, pushed him away, took away his glory, his authority and his beauty, and Satan immediately became a totally ruthless, horrible being, with nothing good because if the grace of God does not touch a being it becomes the most grotesque thing there is, just because the grace of God is in a human being it does not turn into a horribly ugly creature.
Even a criminal like this man that we see there in the video, there is God's grace in him that prevents him from becoming a living demon. So that's important, isn't it? That we see the heart, and that's how it can be, but one often doesn't know what is in the heart of the environments and the things with which we are associated, we often say that we have We must be careful when asking the Lord to test us, as in the case of Gideon, to try us and treat us as with those people, individuals, environments, that are going to influence our lives, and with whom we are going to share the intimate elements of our life, because only God can discover what is deep inside a person, and only time and circumstances can bring to light what is inside, and when God tests someone, and comes out light something that is not for you, as he said to Gideon, he does not go with you, if I approve he goes with you, if I do not approve he does not go with you, we have to be obedient.
One sees through the years and years of counseling how many people suffer because they did not listen to the voice of God or wisdom, and then we get infatuated with something we want, and we distort God's will with terrible consequences later, so we have to be honest with ourselves and with God so that doesn't happen to us. So one does not know what is in the heart, now, you know what, we ourselves many times will not be able to determine what is in our own heart. Sometimes we will deceive ourselves about who we are, it's the hardest thing for a human being. How can a human being determine, do you know that there is something wrong with me, there is pride in me, there is sensuality in me, there is disloyalty in me, there is gossip, there is rancor, there is grudge, there is violence in me. It is difficult for a human being to have that degree of greatness and self-perception. Introspection. It's like me trying to totally scratch my back, I can't, and so the human being can't fully, honestly examine himself.
That is why the Psalmist David says examine me oh God, look into my heart, test me, and what is he saying, we have to always be saying to the Holy Spirit, examine me, Lord, bring out what is inside of me, and show me, show me with all honesty , in Deuteronomy 8, verses 2 and 3, we see there what God did with the people of Israel, where He speaks to them about, it says here in chapter 8 verse 2, "And you will remember all the way where Jehovah your God has brought you these 40 years in the desert, to afflict you, to test you, to know what was in your heart, if you would keep what is in your heart". The Hebrew people walked 40 years through the desert, and one of the reasons for this was so that in the light of all those incidents, wars, situations, everything came to light, and it became evident that only through grace and God's mercy that people was going to be entered into the promised land.
There was nothing they could be proud of, there was nothing there, only the mercy of God, and God wanted to show them, he knows that many times God wants to publicly display what is there, God needs to bring out what is there, this humanity is still on trial , says when the time comes for the evil of men to be filled, then God acts, but he has to bring to light all the things that are hidden. Then we see that further on he says, "he sustained you with manna, food that neither you nor your parents knew about, to let you know that man will not live by bread alone, man will live more than everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord" . God subjected Israel to all these years of tribulation to teach them, to instruct them, to train them. So we see that it was a process of revealing what was inside them, as well as training and instruction, about certain truths that they had to know. The same thing happened with Moses, the one who would be the liberator of the people of Israel, God took eighty years to form the heart of Moses, forty years he put him in Egypt to prepare him, educate him, instruct him, and then forty years he put him in the desert, so that there in the desert and the silence of the night, taking care of goats, alone, walking through the paths of the desert, he would learn about himself, thinking and reflecting, his character would be formed, right?
And we see the same thing with Abraham, with David, with Joseph, God is with these people, but he takes his time to train them, and subject them to some tests, certain experiences, certain trips that prepare them and create in them awareness, maturity, high knowledge, introspection, honesty about themselves, when God comes to use them, they know what they are, God has already crushed them, has made them flee, to be afraid, to fail, to temper them and so that they know who they are, because a man, a woman, who wants to serve God, has to know who he is. Because if not, at any moment a mouse comes out that I didn't know was there.
You have to know who is and who is not. I see so many people in the ministry so sure of themselves. I would like to have that security, but you know what, I'm just saying it for a moment, because when you know who you are, you don't have so much self-confidence, I say just for your mercy Lord, I like people a little insecure you know, I prefer people, when I see a very confident man I'm afraid of him you know, because if it's not excessive security, it's very healthy, it's good to be a little afraid of yourself, and not believe that one, like Pedro, even if all these stupid people leave you, Lord, I will remain faithful to you, when Pedro comes to say Pedro, before the rooster crows three times, you will deny me not only once, but three times, right? You have to be careful with the supreme security of many of us.
And God's people often know war, and they are wrong, and they want leaders like that, confident people, people who speak well, people who give good speeches, I prefer a simple-hearted person, temperate in God, than a person who is affecting a lot of self-confidence, and many times one asks that of preachers, evangelists, people who recite, who have big chests, but that is not what makes a man a great leader, it is the heart, what is inside. Let us be careful not to inappropriately magnify our leaders, discern what is in the hearts of the people, let us be a discerning people. Because God is always forming those kinds of people. God took, at the precise moment, activated the call he had for them. Listen to this, when asked and allowed, God forms men and women. God forges a treatment and formation plan, and throughout life, uses circumstances, events and human relationships, to form the hearts of his chosen ones.
Everything that happens in the hearts of his children is to treat him and forge a heart according to his heart. God is very intentional in the way he deals with us. Brother, I say, if the people understood, sitting there, or speaking in the pulpit, or serving God in something that, brother look, God is always like Jesus on the fig tree, He is with his hand, get away, get away, I want fruit, I want the fruit, I don't want the foliage, and we believe that the foliage will shield God in some way, I don't know if they say it in other countries, we want to shield God as if God allowed himself to be shielded, or the devil he will let himself be screened, the devil knows and God knows because he is infinitely wise, what is in your heart, in your life.
Examine your heart, God wants integrity in your heart, there is nothing else that appeases the heart of God, and the devil is not intimidated or impressed by anything other than what is in your heart, what are you when he sees you. And then God is there, if you and I allow it, God is going to work, I believe that in my life and in your life nothing happens by coincidence, everything happens because God is there, through his Spirit, day by day, 365 days a year, dealing with me to forge a man that is nice to him. If you see your life like this, that's why the apostle Paul says, all things work together for good, for good means that in the end, even if bad and difficult things come into your life, God can take all of that and use it as raw material. , to forge an ethical, spiritual, moral material work that brings pleasure to your heart and blessing to the world, say amen to that even if it is to give me a little encouragement.
And you know what, you have to live life like this, brothers, like every day counts, every experience counts, every movie I see, every conversation, every experience in my life, God has something about that, brothers, why did he allow it? God, what do you want to teach me and how can I be better, and how can I get rid of something that is not good that is there, live your life intentionally, because God wants to form a heart that is pleasing to Him. You know that He also wants to form a church that is pleasing to He, God is working with us as a spiritual family, and he is working in León de Judá, I say yes, he continues to form the collective heart of this church.
Remove everything that is not yours, all hypocrisy, all duplicity, all mediocrity, all lukewarmness, all self-deception, remove it, everything that is not holy, whatever is not pleasant, start with this one up here, look for a church that your heart pleases Lord, submit us, treat us, because that is what a man, a woman, and if you take that vision seriously, God is going to treat your life and he is going to take you through a process of formation in your life, why, you know what, if the heart is healthy, if the heart of a man, a woman is healthy, it does not mean that it is perfect, if the heart of a son of God, of a daughter of God is healthy , that person's life will be blessed and prosperous.
The heart attracts and determines everything else, including God's favor, that is why the Bible says, above all things kept, guard your heart because life flows from it. That is why it is so important to let ourselves be formed by God and to give great importance to this formative process in our life, because it is the only thing that will guarantee that our hearts will be pleasing to Him, and then that will attract God's blessing and favor. . Lucas says, eh sorry Ecclesiastes, chapter 2, verse 26, it says there, remember that it says that the eyes of God roam the whole earth to seek those whose heart is in accordance with what He seeks. Now look here it says: "Because God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to the man or woman who pleases him, but to the sinner he gives the work of collecting and piling it up to give it to the one who pleases God." You know what attracted God to David's heart, it was not the perfection of that man, because David was a very imperfect man, but he had a heart that pleased God, he had a noble heart, a healthy heart, woman if you go to marry a man, look, find yourself a person who has a healthy heart, don't look for the size of his legs, or the color of his eyes or how tall he is, search his heart, search his psyche, search his mind, search his character, look in those places, because that is what is going to bless or not bless your life. So be careful how you judge, because that piece of meat that is actually a metaphor, today we will talk about psyche, character, personality, subconscious, there are many psychological expressions that define the heart, but I couldn't find something more beautiful, and so perfect that the heart. But you have to examine the heart, if it is healthy, that attracts the goodness of God.
What attracted Mary to God, why did God choose Mary and not a princess in some royal court, somewhere in the world, that heart of Mary, she was a virgin both inside and out, that healing of Mary, that innocence, many times we want sophisticated people, shady, calculating people, those are the ones who get away with it in this world, but you know what, they are destined to fail, their riches make water in their hands, on the one hand they enter money and on the other hand, unhappiness, illness, neurosis enter their lives, the only thing that guarantees true fruitful gain in their life is a healthy heart, never obtain anything by calculation, let the Lord give it to you, if the Lord does not give it to you, do not look for it, and make sure that the methodology of your life is always a healthy methodology.
Be a healthy, honest person, so that people can turn their backs on you and know that a knife is not going to stick behind them, that your heart is in your hand, and that people know who you are, that they know they can entrust you to his properties, and his honor, everything, and that you are going to handle it in an adequate way, that attracts the love of God, and that is what allows it to be a blessing, I am going to read this only without commenting on it so that the Lord, act in your life, Enrique can start there to give us a little music.
How can we make sure that our heart attracts the will of God. What do we have to practice, listen to this, number 1, give me some shoes, a tie, after this, because it's worth it, number 1: fill your heart with the word of God, let it shape it by reading it, studying it , and meditate on it day and night, then look for Psalm 19, verse 111 and 112, learn to meditate on the word, love it, the word must be what forms your life, number 2: make a pact with the truth, make a pact with the truth, and love it, so don't deceive yourself, be honest with God and yourself as much as possible.
Interestingly, the Bible says that the heart is deceitful more than anything else, so do not hide your defects, do not project your defects onto others, do not disguise the motivations and true intentions of your heart, and do not transfer blame to others. If you don't marry the truth and make a pact to the death, I'm going to respect the truth wherever it comes from, however it comes, even if it comes from a person who hates me, if there's truth in what he says, I'm going to listen and receive the truth. truth that is in him, in her. Marry the truth. Number 3: deliberately give your life to God, so that He forms your heart throughout your life, give your life to God so that He forms your heart throughout your life, that He submits you to a formative process to that you forge your trajectory in the world. Do not resist him, nor resent him when he acts in unpleasant or unexpected ways, because he works alone, in the sense that you cannot tell him what he does, you cannot take a hand in something in the end, say Lord, do what you want, shape me, and I want you to do it, neigh and bellow, because I want you to shape my heart, Lord.
Number 4, ask God like the psalmist to continually search your heart. Examine me, test me, that I may test you, and reveal everything that is in you that is not pleasing to Him, and that I extirpate it and conform it to His preference to what He wants, Lord, examine me, all my life, every day, and take out to light everything that is not pleasant for you, I want to know what things to present to you in adoration, I want to make my life a pleasing theme, so that it is what you want it to be. And finally, put the acquisition of a well-formed heart above all other goals in life. Listen to this again, put acquiring a well-formed heart above all other values, I want a heart that pleases you Lord, you have to make a theme of this in your life, my heart, my heart, my personality, my attitude, my strength, what I am, is that what defines me, I want that above all things, I don't want money, I don't want wealth, I don't want influence, I don't want people's adoration, I don't want a big house I don't want fame, I want my heart to be pleasing to you Lord. Let that be the driving force of your life, because God is going to take it seriously until you are what He wants, put your heart before Him.
And finally watch the things that enter your heart. Be careful, habitual readings and entertainment, habitual human influences, your partner, and the church you choose, the mentors you choose, watch it, there has to be a guard at the door of your heart, a cherub, who stops and says give me your identity, who you are, you are in accordance with the word of God, you are in tune with what this man, this woman wants to be before God, watch him. Because many times you allow dirty water to enter your heart, through a movie, a reading, habits, conversations, which enters your heart, every time you are subjected to that television screen, or that movie screen, that conversation, or those people around you, ask yourself, is this in favor of God, is this contributing to the edification of my spiritual life, and if not, take the biggest ax that you can find there and cut it down, watch the influence that enters your heart
Let's stand up, and the Lord wants to form our hearts according to his heart, this has to be a goal of a lifetime brothers, God will not be satisfied with anything that is not a heart according to his heart, there is nothing that will bring him satisfaction, neither works, nor money, nor service, nor anything, a heart that beats for Him, and a life determined to death, when he dies, that when God looks at his heart he says, I like it, it honors me, and that will bring happiness to your life, it will bring fruit, it will bring abundance, everything else. Glory to the name of the Lord.
