Do you stand for the lame when you go to church?

Summary: The speaker talks about the power of the Holy Spirit and the need for the church to be attentive to the needs of the people. He references Acts 3 and the story of Peter and John healing a lame man outside the temple. The speaker emphasizes the importance of being aware of when the Holy Spirit can work through us to help others and to be a source of transformation and healing in the world. He encourages the church to be more perceptive and attentive to the needs of the people, and to show the power of God in everyday life.

The church of the Lord is a place of life, power, and transformation. To do the will of the Lord, we must remove our logic, pride, and arrogance, and have faith. A deranged church is one that believes in the power of the Lord and is willing to do His will without questioning it. The Lord wants to pour out a special power over our lives and transform us. The first Christians were filled with fear and astonishment at the miracles the Lord was doing through the church. Today, we should be sensitive to the Lord's glory in our lives and be potential purveyors of His power for the healing of others. For those who believe, everything is possible.

Say each one of you, “How good it is to be in the house of the Lord. Here in the house of the Lord wonderful things happen.” There are some of us who still have a hard time understanding that the Lord wants to do great things in our midst. So, what do you think if today we can say to our brother who is next to us, "the Lord wants to revolutionize our hearts".

It is interesting because for a long time we have tried to motivate the church in different places so that we can be available for the use that the Lord wants to make of us through the Holy Spirit. Each one of us can be such a useful, great instrument, of such a blessing when we can put ourselves in line with the Lord and let the Holy Spirit work at the right time, at the agreed time, on the right person.

You know what? I believe that today the Lord wants us to remember again, according to Genesis, Chapter 1, that everything he had done had been good. Have the things the Lord has done to you been good? Does anyone have a complaint with the Lord? If you raise your hand, I ask you to come forward and we pray for you for being ungrateful.

I believe that the Lord has made all things right for us. He has been faithful, he has been loyal, he has been our provision, our sustenance. And I want to invite you to open your Bible to the book of Acts, Chapter 3. There is an interesting event from the point of view of the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. There is an interesting development because I believe that this is the attitude that the Lord is looking for in his people when we meet. Psalm 133 says:

"... Look how good and how delicious it is to dwell brothers together in harmony..."

And there are a number of details in that Chapter and at the end of the Chapter it says:

"... because there the Lord sends blessing and eternal life..."

You know, that expression of blessing and eternal life is not just filling our pockets with money, it is not just filling us with houses, filling us with cars, filling us with shoes, filling us with clothes, blessing and eternal life is also saying, I bring miracles. I bring transformations. I bring restoration. I bring a new life today for you and for the world. That's what the Lord is saying there. He's not just saying things that suit us, he's saying things that glorify him as well. The world needs to see that our God is a powerful God and that today he is still the same as yesterday, as the book of Saint John says, that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever, and the works that he did yesterday, you can do it today.

How many believe that? I was worried, I thought there was no one. Look, I want to invite you to Acts, Chapter 3. A word that struck me a lot and we're going to take a little something from Chapter 2 as well, but I just want to leave this on your heart, verse 1 onwards.

"...Peter and John went up to the temple together at the ninth hour, that of food, that of prayer..."

The first observation that we have is that there must be a specific time in the man and woman of God for the specific work of the Lord in our lives. And there was a purpose at a specific time for Peter and John, to go up at one hour, at the time of prayer. Later we are going to see why the detail is so important, the specification of this.

“… And a man lame from birth was brought who was placed every day at the door of the temple called La Hermosa, so that he could ask for alms from those who entered the temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he begged them to give him alms. Peter, with Juan fixing his eyes on him, said to him, "Look at us." So, he was attentive to them, hoping to receive something from them..." ─Here comes Peter's great phrase, this is what many of us say when we are outside─ "...More Peter said, "I don't have silver or gold, but what I have I give you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Get up and walk." In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk."

Close your eyes for a moment. Today the Lord did not bring us to this place just to be expectant of what could happen in the service. Today the Lord brought you here because you are a person carrying the power of the Holy Spirit and all the blessings that it brings with it through you.

Lord Jesus, thank you for your word. Thank you Lord, because I believe that today you are speaking to a church that is being renewed, transformed, that is being, Lord, touched by you in such a powerful way. I believe that the supernatural power of God in these times is manifesting itself in such a great way that even those who stand at the doors can receive glory, such a great impact from you. Thank you, Lord, because just like Peter and John, so are we, entering the temple every day. Lord let it flow and sprout power from us in Jesus name. Amen. Amen.

I was struck by this, many years we have been told about this and there are a lot of ways to approach this. I just feel that this is an interesting time. The great scholars of the Bible, and some not so much, always agree that the book of Acts has not yet been finished writing. That's like the poetic part of this whole part of the Scriptures. That the book of Acts has not yet finished writing, that more than two thousand years have passed and what the Holy Spirit is doing in the midst of the church is still being written.

But there is something interesting that the Holy Spirit is trying for us not only to continue in the poetic process of continuing to write the book of Acts, through the years, but from time to time to look at when all this began. Rather, from time to time let's refresh our minds and see what was the power that the Holy Spirit was bringing to the church in those moments.

It was interesting how two men were going to do something that was on their agenda, they were going to pray at church, at a certain time. Who knows how many times they had gone, it was something traditional, it was normal for them to go to church, but something happened on a specific day as they walked through this routine. There was a man who was there every day, something happened that they had not seen before, but something happened that day that the Lord had an answer for that man.

You know, we often come to church hoping that the Lord will solve our problems for us, waiting for the Lord to respond to our needs, but we walk down the street and we are sure that we pass in front of many lame, many blind, many deaf, of many needy who are waiting for something from the Lord's church.

But first us, then them. First, may the Lord do something for me so that I can preach to others with authority. The Lord is calling a church that allows itself to be revolutionized by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You will do even greater things, said the Lord Jesus at the end of the Gospels. You will do even greater things. You know what attracts me to this passage is this man who represents the need of the world looking at the Lord's church. Do you know what this man was waiting for? Something. Something. Something that could satisfy his soul. Something that could ease his pain. Something that could make him look to the future in a different way. Something. A few coins, a look, a smile.

The world today is looking to the church for something. And although many of us may say, the world is far from God, the people outside are looking to the church to receive something. Many times we do not give them anything, not even a greeting, we do not even look at them, we do not even feel their pain, we are not even feeling their frustration, their time of discouragement, their spiritual death, we are not feeling it.

The Lord is calling a more perceptive church, a church that can be attentive to the needs of the people, but not to those needs for alms, not to those needs for little smiles, not to those needs for a few coins, to that need that say, “Look, I probably don't have what you want but I do have something more powerful. I have the Lord Jesus Christ who can heal you. I have the Lord Jesus Christ who can transform you. I have the power of God the Holy Spirit that can turn your life upside down in a big way.”

That is the church that today should be treading the earth. I don't know if you agree with me, but I think that today is the right time, appropriate for the church to show the power of God where we live, where we work, where we come together.

Peter and John went to the temple to pray. They were not going to meet with their brother because they were going to discuss business. No, they didn't go there because I have to talk to the sister about cooking the little rice with the chicken that we are going to make for Sunday. Peter and John went to the temple at the time of prayer, at the time when communication with God should be mostly free of any vice. They didn't go to church just to grab a microphone and sing or play an instrument. They were going to a moment where the presence of the Lord could really do great things.

And this miracle in the lame man reveals that many of us must walk the streets, when we come to the temple and be aware when the Holy Spirit can do something in you and tell you, "Speak to him", and tell you, "Pray for him". , and tell you "It's not about you, it's about my love for the world." This is not about coming to the prayer meeting and leaving my burdens alone, because I am interested in my burdens being solved.

This is about what the Lord wants to do with the world through us. This lame man represents the sad people on the street, the hungry people on the street, the people who have no justice on the street. This lame man represents those who suffer from violence, who suffer from abuse. This lame man represents a condition of humanity that cannot fend for itself because many times the price of sin has led them to be spiritually prostrate, with no way out and that is where the children of the Lord must show the church of Christ working as the Lord would work on earth.

Does it cause something interesting to you to be able to know that in your hands is the authority of the Lord to be unleashed in the lives of people? Does this not seem interesting to you that in people so normal, so imperfect, so full of faults, the Lord is depositing in our hands this opportunity to make the world not only ask us for something, but also to deliver everything that God has prepared for they. They don't need to come down angels. You don't need to open the heavens and do a series of things. Men and women are needed who walk at the opportune hour to the time of communion with the Lord. May men and women walk at the precise moment when the Lord wants to use your words to be able to bring power through your mouth, through what you say, through what you look at.

Did you arrive today in need? I think so. And I believe that the Lord already looked at your need, but I think that when you walked here you realized how many lame people were in your house, how many lame people were at work, how many lame people were in the street and who They came on the bus that passed across the street. You realized many of them, and that many times we do not have the discernment to make the mighty Lord use us to deliver his great prize.

The lame man ran into the temple. Look at the effect of a man or a woman doing the will of the Lord in your life. The world begins to recognize that inside the Lord's church there is life. He entered happy, he entered jumping, he entered praising, he entered shouting, acknowledging that in the church of the Lord there is power and that it is not a myth, and that it is not false and that it is not just a religious idea, the church of the Lord It is a church where there is life, where there is power, where there is transformation. And I added a word these days in my church, we must be upset.

Do you know what a deranged is? Do not tell me. Crazy people are capable of doing irrational, unnatural things. We use the word transformed because it sounds more sane, more rational, more logical. Of course, we are transformed, we are going to pray for this lame, for this paralyzed, for this blind, for this deaf. Transformed, but the Lord wants us to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It's the only way Pedro, upset, came up with the idea of walking through the water. Because he was being upset by this power of faith, of the Holy Spirit in his life, that made him believe the Lord.

The only way to believe the Lord is by removing our logic, by removing our rationality, by removing our pride, by removing our arrogance, by removing all our questions, and saying, "Lord, this question is by faith."

The fact of talking about faith is already a matter of crazy people. So from crazy to deranged, we don't have much left. The people outside, Paul says, I prefer to be sane for God and crazy for the world. Doesn't it make sense to you? And Paul arrived in Rome and Rome disarmed. Only Paul set foot on Rome and the glory of the Lord descended on that city.

You don't have to be transformed for that. You have to be upset by the power of the Lord. A deranged church is the one that tells him, "Look, I don't have silver or gold, but what I do have I give you in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, get up and walk."

A rational does not do that. Are there rational evangelicals, just in case? There are rational Christians, thinkers, and I am not saying that they do harm to the church, they cause a balance. But when they get into things of faith, where you just have to be crazy to say yes to the Lord, then they begin to do harm.

As far as we have to be rational we are, but when the Lord wants to use you, don't ask him, in which philosophy book does that appear; where in the Bible does that come out; or in what book of Christian education does that appear. When the Lord wants to use you, he doesn't use a manual, he does it and no matter how and no matter how you end up, his glory is what will be shown to whom he has commanded you to do something.

That's how it is. You did not come here today because of your business, you came here today because the Lord wants to pour out a special power over your life. You did not come here today just because you are sick, because you need this, because you need the other, because you have these dreams, the Lord today wants to transform your life and put it in a disordered process so that you can do the things you he is asking you to do. A holy upheaval, a spiritual upheaval, a upheaval that leads you to see the very glory of the Lord working through you.

That is the church that today we must begin to cultivate in this city, in this state, in this country, and in the world. This is the church that the Lord began to make in the early years, when you go back to the verses in Chapter 2, verses 43 onwards, it says that the first Christians, those first who were freshly refreshed by the power of the Holy Spirit it says that they were filled with fear, and they were filled with fear, verse 43 of Chapter 2:

“…and fear came upon every person…”

Do you know what the Lord was doing? He was filling that area with miracles. He was filling that area with his glory. The people had never seen the glory of the Lord active in such a way. Today, you know what? If we see a miracle they have to pray for us to resurrect us, we would fall down with fright.

When was the last time you saw a miracle, a lame man whose leg stretched out? Already. Pastor Andrés, those things no longer exist. Pastor, no longer the blind, if today they even operate.

There are some, look, I am going to tell you a case, I am not going to say the name so as not to offend. We were praying for a person a few years ago and we prayed, Lord, heal. And I saw that the person was very indifferent. Lord, heal from this paralysis that he had in his leg. Lord heal him. Lord heal him. In the end it did not heal him. Now, to make a short story.

Talking to this person, I say, we were praying, “Look, how did you feel?” "Well, yes, well, Pastor, I received a blessing from the Lord." Ah good! But you know, pastor, I don't want the Lord to heal me. And because? I tell him. Because I lose my disability, because I'm going to have to start working, I'm going to have to count my money for rent. Pastor, I don't want the Lord to heal me. The healing of the Lord is not convenient for me.

You know, this seems funny. Well, it wasn't funny, but hey, if they laughed, you have to laugh. But there are many in the church who do not want to be touched by the power of the Lord so as not to lose the benefits of the state.

These days my brother made what is called an unclean spirit of welfare. There are people who do not want to be touched by the Lord so as not to lose their benefits. And that's true. If you look around you and ask that question to your friends that you have out there, who make a living from this. No, it is not convenient for me to pay more rent. He's fine with the $80 I pay. But they are subject to an eternal curse.

And the Lord wants to get them out of there. We talk about prosperity. We talk about abundance. The Lord also does all those things, he takes us out of the projects. Do you know what for? So that others in need can really be there. And there are some that the Lord has there too, I also believe in that. But getting to say, no, I don't want the Lord to heal me because they take away my benefits. I didn't know whether to laugh, whether to cry, whether to hit him. Finally, give him the other leg now so that he charges it double.

Let the Lord remove all those barriers, all those frustrations. Following Chapter 2, verse 43:

There was enormous astonishment at what miracles the Lord was doing. It says that the Apostles were used in signs and wonders. He says that the church was together, that the church was persistent, that the church always continued in fellowship, they had all things in common, the church continued to praise and the church met in the houses happily.

There is a very interesting part in this Chapter, in verse 46, it says:

"... And they had the favor of the people..."

Do you know what he is saying there? That the people knew where to take their sick. That the city knew where to take its hungry. That the city knew, the town knew where to take the one who was sad, where to take the one who was alone. You know what? Today people no longer bring their people to church, because they say they come out worse. Why are we going to take them if they turn out worse?

The first church is this, the reflection of the character, of the image of God that must be reflected in us, with his power, with what we can really project: love, power, authority, healing, transformation, freedom, freedom from demoniacs.

I believe that the Lord today is the best time that he is giving us to be able to see the supernatural power of God in these times through his church. Let's not wait for someone famous to come to do it. You can stand up, you are well praying to the Lord, you have a time of pleasant communion with the Lord, I am sure that wherever you put your hands, the Lord will fly a healing. Where you put your hands the Lord will bring a blessing, where you put your hands, where you put your feet, there the Lord will glorify himself, because there is a son, there is a daughter of God willing to declare the glory of the Lord above all things . That is the church, that is the church that we are supposed to continue writing after the book of Acts.

Now is the time. There is no problem of age, it is not because I am young or because we are old. The Lord will use you just the same, just come and do what you have to do. Let the mighty Lord remember your fellowship with him and give you this anointing, this grace of the Holy Spirit.

You know what? This isn't about us, it's about who he is and what he wants to do in the world. There are many lame, there are many blind, there are many deaf. There are many hungry, many in need. When you come here you can pray for all of them and tell them "I don't have money, I don't have gold, but I give you what the Lord has given me, power, the power of the Holy Spirit."

Close your eyes. Close your eyes and tell the Lord that you want to be a useful vessel so that the power of the Holy Spirit can flow through you, because the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.

Are there some lame, are there some sick who surround you every time you walk to church, every time you walk to the cell? Or do you join a specific group? There is someone that you know that you are passing by him or her, and you need to stop and look at him carefully, he says attentively, he says attentive to the eyes waiting to receive something. What you have to give him is so wonderful, it is so precious that only a man and a woman of God have the authority and authorization to give it to him.

Lord Jesus, many times Lord, we have the wrong motivations when we approach sharing with our brothers in the church, in the cell or in a specific group. Lord, teach us to understand that every time we walk the streets, that we are in front of our families, our friends, our co-workers, even in front of our brothers in the church, we are potentially purveyors of your power, Lord, for the healing of others.

Teach us, Lord, to be sensitive to your glory in our lives. And just as you asked the prophet, in Ezekiel, Chapter 37, prophet, will these bones live? Lord, you know they will live. Lord, will this cripple heal? Lord, you know that the lame can heal, because for you nothing is impossible, and for those who believe everything, everything, everything is possible. Thank my Lord. Thank you Jesus.
