Summary: The speaker talks about the importance of seeking wisdom, which is mentioned frequently in the Bible. Wisdom is equated to the person of Jesus and seeking it is urgent. The speaker cites Proverbs 2, which urges seeking wisdom like treasure. The speaker also cites Ecclesiastes 7, which advises against dwelling on the past and reminds us that wisdom is good and profitable. The speaker encourages enjoying good times and reflecting on adversity, as both are things of God that we may not understand. Seeking wisdom helps us understand how to live through difficult times and see God in the midst of them.
The speaker talks about the importance of seeking wisdom from God in both good and bad times. He encourages listeners to ask for wisdom to deal with themselves and their own internal struggles, which can then lead to transformation in their relationships and circumstances. He ends with a prayer for God's blessing and guidance.
We are going to talk about the search, and not about the search for anything, we are going to talk about the search for something very particular. There is a verse in Santiago, Chapter 1 verse 5 that says the following. I don't know if anyone knows it by heart, but James Chapter 1, verse 5 says:
If anyone lacks wisdom, ask Rafael for it. Look, this man is very wise. Lost cause.
“….If anyone lacks wisdom, ask God for it…”
Do you know that wisdom is one of the most mentioned words in the Bible? Particularly between the psalms, the proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Wisdom is equated to the person of Jesus that in Jesus is wisdom. It says Proverbs, Chapter 2, there are many proverbs that say this, but look at Proverbs, Chapter 2 and if you can put it there for me, look at this, it says starting in verse 1:
“….My son or my daughter, if you receive my words and keep my commandments within you, making your ear attentive to wisdom, if you incline your heart to prudence, which is a relative of wisdom, if you cry out to intelligence and to prudence you give your voice, if you seek it like silver and scrutinize it like treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and you will find the knowledge of God….”
You know that when I was in prayer time and I started to think, wow, there are so many people who go out of their way to seek other things in life, and obviously when you compare wisdom to wealth, there are many people who go out of their way , they go crazy and crazy trying to acquire the necessary financial resources to be able to live their dreams. And how many of us hasn't that happened to? There are people who go out of their way to acquire the necessary financial aid to be able to study, to be able to clear their papers, to be able to buy their dream house, to be able to buy the dream car, to be able to buy the dream clothes, to be able to fix parts of the body, the dream journey. Thank God that the parenthesis that I said there was not heard. I'm not going to repeat it. No.
There are people who spend their money trying to look a little better than God created them. I'm going to say it that way. Didn't they get the liposuction that I did? Until I eat…. Liposuction is gone. I'm pulling that all from Proverbs 2.
But my brothers, the thing is that today more than ever, I don't know how many of you were here on Sunday and had the opportunity to listen to the message that I shared. But that message to me has kept rolling, rolling in my head and in my heart. And I say to myself, wow, Lord, that is, literally today more than ever, today more than ever it is so and so important to be able to seek from you that wisdom that we need to know how to proceed in everything we do, in all our adventures, to know how to live as human beings in our relationships with other people, to know how to live as your sons and daughters, Lord, understanding what you expect of us, what you want to do in us, what you you want to do through us, my brothers.
I don't know if you have noticed, but for me that is already a saying. Every time God blesses us it is not only, that blessing is not to enrich your personal life, but so that through you you can enrich the life of another or another person around you. God's blessing is like that, it's like a domino effect, it's up to you and it continues to reach other people.
And you know what? I understand that today one also has to be wise to be able to understand and comprehend how God wants to bless us. That wisdom that the Proverbs is talking about, to seek it, and it says it with such intensity, my brothers, if you continue reading that Chapter 2 of Proverbs, you are going to realize that Solomon is putting a sense of urgency so and so great to be able to find wisdom, to be able to seek it and find it and live according to it.
And look, I am saying wisdom, not as an ethical concept, I am saying wisdom as a representation of Jesus himself, of being able to search for his person, of being able to search for who he is, what he means in the midst of our lives, what he can do in us, and how he equips us so that we can carry out our daily lives.
You have to seek that wisdom, my brothers, and when we get to the moments where we get stuck, look at this, go with me to Ecclesiastes, I don't know how many of you read Ecclesiastes, but I suggest you read Ecclesiastes. In Chapter 7 of Ecclesiastes I came across these verses that seemed very interesting to me. And look at how it says, Ecclesiastes, Chapter 7 beginning in verse 9, okay, let me start in verse 5, the Chapter is so good that's why I keep going up, going up to read other things. Look at these sayings that appear here, it says:
"... it is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than the song of fools because the laughter of the fool is like the noise of the thorns under the pot..." you lost me there, let me read it in this version that sounds better.
“…the laughter of the fool resembles the crackling of the brambles in the fire –I understand that better- …and they are also vain illusion,- this is also vanity- …certainly oppression makes the wise stupefied and gifts corrupt the heart. Better is the end of the business than its beginning, right? Isn't it better when you close the day at home than when you're starting it? Isn't it better when you already sign and they give you the car, than when you are starting to look for it? Isn't it better when, between your husband or your wife, you reach an agreement that you are going to do this and I am going to do that, and everyone is calm, than the process before it was like pulling your hair out? Ah, but if you don't do this, you don't do that, right? People feel better when the business is closed than when it is starting.
"...better is the long-suffering in spirit than the haughty in spirit... - let's continue then, now -... do not rush in your spirit to get angry because anger rests in the bosom of fools..."
Listen to me, this is where this passage began to attract me. And I am going to read it in this version, God speaks today, because here I liked how I read it. Says:
"... Do not get carried away by anger, because anger is typical of foolish people..."
Now, it does not mean that we do not get angry, I know that we can experience anger, but that anger is going to dominate over us, that is where foolishness can enter our lives, that is when, if one gets carried away by it anger that situations can cause us, anger can often blind and hinder us and then we act foolishly. Exactly, the fool says madly, or anger does not help us, it provokes us to speak foolishly. When you're mad at someone and you say something you don't have to say, do you know where the foolishness shows up? When later you have to come with your tail between your legs to ask for forgiveness. And what is the first thing one says? I know I did wrong. I know that I screwed up, I know that I acted badly. And one has to apologize.
But keep reading, look at verse 10, I liked verse 10, because there are many of us who say this, it says:
“…Do not ask yourself why the days of the past were better… “-how many have said, oh, the days of yore, how good those days were! TRUE? How good were those days when Coca Cola was worth 5 cents! How good were those days when they lifted me up with caresses on my skin and now they lift me up there reluctantly, Get up! And prepare the bed! How good were those days when every piece of skin on the body was in its place! And now you have to look in the mirror and it's like... there was a reason those people who spend money on... listen to me. A joke, my God.
Father should I say this, give me wisdom to see if I have to say this or not. You know why I'm saying that, my brothers, because yesterday I was meeting with a friend of mine and we were at the South Plaza Mall and when I was arriving, I saw this woman walking towards me, my His eyes focused only on her mouth. And you can tell, when a mouth is real and when a mouth is artificial. So, I had seen those things on television but when I saw it in the flesh, in front of me, I said to myself, like... money wasted badly, that was the only thing I could say.
But, where was he, ok, look, let's not start dreaming about the past times, look how he says:
"... that's not an intelligent question..." Wow, that caught me "... because you will never ask wisely about this..."
In other words, what is he trying to say, why are you going to stay dreaming of yesterday, when you have to live today, focusing on what lies ahead. Perhaps you can acquire experiences from yesterday, but many times that experience from yesterday will not necessarily give you what you need to do what you have to do today and beyond.
So, don't spend a lot of brain energy thinking about yesterday. Look, this, verse 11, I like this version, I married this version, it says
"...Wisdom is good and profitable for those who live in this world if it is also accompanied by an inheritance, because wisdom protects the same as money, but wisdom has the advantage of giving life to the wise..."
And now look at verse 13, here we can read it, verse 13:
"... Look at the work of God because who can...." defend myself, no, that's the ChapulĂn Colorado, right? Says, "…. Who will be able to straighten what he twisted….”
I am being very visual. Who can straighten what he twisted. Himself, thank you. They are reminded of the message from Sunday that there are times when one is giving him the rattle like, Lord, straighten this, straighten this, straighten this, and he created it crooked for a purpose, and many times we do not receive that answer and we are looking, because it's that God wants it to stay crooked for a while. And it may be that later he twists it on the other side, and one, no, no, has to be straight. No, I want to twist it to the other side now.
But God is the one who makes and undoes, that is, that is what I see there. There are things that God determines, my brothers, that no matter how much we fight it's up to him. It's up to him. But if we keep reading, look at this, it's getting more interesting, verse 14, please, it says:
"... On the day of good enjoy the good, and on the day of adversity consider, because God made both the one and the other so that man finds nothing after him..."
Ah no, that sounds very depressing. No no. Let me read it from here.
"... When things go well for you, look, enjoy that well-being, but when things go wrong, think, look at this, think that one and the other are things of God and that man, see here it sounds better, it sounds more poetic , and that man never knows what the future will bring him…”
In other words, he's saying look, no, when things go wrong for you, don't stay, oh, my plans that I had went to hell, I'm not going to be able to do anything else now. No. What does Roman 8 say?
…that all things work together for good to those who love God…”
So, that's what I'm reading here. When things are going well for you, have fun, watch your little jazz steps, put on your nice clothes, go eat at Eagle Seafoods, better go to the grocery store and buy the fish and eat it at home, it's cheaper. They do it on barbecue. And look, when things go wrong for you, this is where the fire really burns, because many times when things go wrong, there are times when it is difficult for us to say how, Lord, but why, why does this happen to me? But look, that's where the wisdom is, my brothers, that's where the spiritual wisdom is. Let me define it this way: the wisdom that comes from God is found there, in the mere fact that when things go well, when things go wrong, God gives us the ability to understand how to live through those things. And of us being able to see God in the midst of all those things.
So I want to summarize here now: you are listening to these words right now and you understand very well what the panorama of your life is, you understand very well in what sense you are needing wisdom right now. Maybe you are the mother of teenagers and like your boys are like their hormones are running and they are not thinking intelligently, for something is that Solomon wrote in Proverbs to his son, like, look, when those crazy years come, read what I am telling you, so that you know well how to act. But what those words apply to us even though our hormones are teetering in another way, but the teaching applies to us however it wants.
So, my brothers, I want to encourage you, wisdom is a gift from God that is there ready, it is, God has it there in his hands to give it to whoever asks for it. If you are the type of person who gets drowned out by the circumstances around you, or by the things that people say, or by what you can see with your natural eyes, look, your ability to perceive things as God intentiona is going to get smaller and cloudy. But if we, in the midst of all this, can say, look, God, I need you to give me that supernatural wisdom so that I know how to speak, you know how to speak to someone and I don't know, I'm saying these things, you'll know how that droplet is doing to you. wetting the head But knowing how to talk to someone, knowing how to treat your spouse, your partner, knowing how to treat that colleague at work, knowing how to treat that brother, that sister in church who thinks differently from you, who likes to do things different from you Furthermore, may God give you the wisdom to know how to deal with yourself. And that is where the battle really takes place.
How many of you support yourselves? Sometimes, okay, sometimes. How many can stand each other and how many times it's as if they could kick each other, behave well. But still look for that, my brothers, because you know what? Many times... the wisdom of God acted there. But look brothers, there are times that what we perceive outside of us is caused by what is inside us. There are times when those lawsuits that there are with other people around us is because we have not truly known how to deal with the interior. That is why if I am reading this, my brothers, that when we are in that search for wisdom you are not saying, Lord, give me wisdom to know how to deal with so-and-so, so-and-so, mengana, and sutana. No, ask him for wisdom to know how to deal with myself, with myself.
May that wisdom help me understand that if there is something that I am doing incorrectly, that if I am thinking incorrectly, that if I am acting in the wrong way, allow that wisdom to help me, to be able to discover those things. that are in me to then see those changes that I want to see around me. But God first has to work in one, that's why that book of Proverbs says, seek wisdom, seek it like a treasure, seek it like cold water when you're in the middle of a desert and you don't have anything to drink. look it up. Look for intelligence, look for prudence, look for all those attributes of God that can transform your being so that then you become an agent of transformation of the things that are around you. Amen.
We are going to stand up and we are going to pray. Dear God, I really thank you because you know how to work with us, Lord, you know how to treat us, you know how to fill our lives like no one else can. And I beg you, Father, I know as I said a few minutes ago, I know that tonight has been a night of renewal, a refreshing night for many, and at the same time perhaps there may be some people who have said, Nothing has happened here, people singing, people crying, that's what I've seen. But Father, you know your times, your seasons with people. And those who have been renewed, Lord, I know that you will continue to fulfill your purpose in the midst of their lives. And in the second group of people, my God, I know that your time will also come for them, where your word will penetrate so deeply into their hearts that they will not be able to contain themselves.
I ask you that this word of wisdom that we have shared today, bring light to our minds and our hearts, to know how to discover, to know our interior as you know it, so that we can then become useful sons and daughters for you in the transformation of the circumstances around us.
Father fill us, take us with goodness now to our homes, allow Lord, that your spirit go with us, that you renew our being, that our dreams tonight be restful, that even in our sleep you meet us and talk to us, we reveal your purposes, your intentions for our life. I thank you, bless each one of my brothers and sisters who have made it this far tonight, Lord, and I continue to pray that you continue to bring those who you know need that touch from you on Wednesday nights.
We claim your blessing on our lives, your peace, your power, your love, your anointing, Lord, and tomorrow is another day, that you allow us to live, Lord, to declare your glory, your blessing, your majesty and live up to it. of what you ask for us, Lord. We bless you, we give you glory and honor in the name of Jesus. Amen, amen. Thank my Lord.
