Summary: In Ezekiel 22:30-31, the Lord is looking for an intercessor to stand in the gap for the land so that He would not have to destroy it. The Lord seeks worshipers who worship Him in spirit and truth. Intercessors are essential partners in divine decisions, and there are things that God would like to do but does not do for lack of someone to stand in the gap. Never underestimate the scope of your prayers, and never ignore the breath of the Holy Spirit that awakens your desire to pray. The Lord seeks someone who is intimate with Him and feels comfortable in His presence to build a fence and stand in the gap. Great things happen when God's people pray and intercede, and serious consequences happen when we stop interceding.
The speaker encourages intercessors to stand in the gap and pray for revival in New England. He emphasizes that the Lord hears and values the prayers of His people, and urges them to ask for His intervention and guidance. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of young people in the revival, and encourages believers to have faith in God's power to renew His works and heal the sick.
Let's go to the Word of God, let's go to Ezekiel Chapter 22 verses 30 and 31. I like to say, I love to emphasize and almost always I can - rarely are the times that I do not follow Pastor Omar's intervention that I do not have to make this clarification . My brothers, we don't mix, we don't have the time to mix, and even if we did mix, we would spoil the soup. We don't combine. Well, when Pastor Omar did those interviews right now, asking us 'Which land are you interceding for?' And 'Which is your giant?' I thought of this Word that the Lord gave me to share with you tonight.
And my brethren, as we're looking up this scripture, Ezekiel Chapter 22 verse 30, remember this: Never underestimate the reach of your intercessory prayer. In particular for big things, for things that are unattainable, it is supposed, and no matter how big the topic is. Many of you – a sister while Pastor Omar was interviewing the brothers, a sister did not even wait for the Pastor to interview her and said: “The land for which I am interceding is for the Dominican Republic. I am here, I am here to intercede for that people”.
Imagine Sister María interceding for all the people of the Dominican Republic, all of them. They imagine? How many Dominicans are here? And that's a fraction. For all these people and more! And others "I'm praying for Boston." Imagine how gigantic the whole knot that is the government, the infrastructure, the school system, the health system, the diversity of families... all the record of sins that is the city of Boston. And you dare to intercede for Boston! My Godness! My God, how daring this town! How bold, praying for those gigantic subjects. For injustice in the school system.
Something that people are still studying. One administration after another and no one can fix it. For more than 50 years. Never underestimate the scope, my brothers, of your prayers. You know why? Great things happen when God's people pray and intercede. And at the same time serious consequences happen when we stop interceding. Great things happen when we intercede and when we stop interceding that also invites consequences. let us intercede The Word of the Lord declares thus:
The Lord speaking to Ezekiel tells him: 'And I searched among them for a man to make a fence and to stand in the gap before me in favor of the land so that I would not destroy it and I did not find him. Therefore I poured out my wrath on them and with the fierceness of my anger I consumed them. I have turned their way on their own head,' says the Lord Jehovah. Awful. The verdict of a judge. One feels the hammer of the judge hitting his desk and the Lord from there is going to unleash judgment not on any people but on his beloved people. God does not have elevation of person and that gives me peace. That also gives you peace, do you know why?
Brothers, you who were here praying for injustices you have suffered, know something: The Lord does not have a "cute baby". The Lord is a God of justice. His word is justice and it will be fulfilled. But before this there is a process. Before the Lord visits this town with judgment or any town with judgment there is an intercessory process. And tonight, frankly, we're recruiting intercessors. And now I'm going to give you the working definition of an intercessor of this size.
What is the Lord looking for? Looking for an intercessor. And this process before the Lord makes his verdict, He first looks for intercessors. Last week, 8 days ago, this place, this very place was first filled with the presence of the Lord just like it was tonight. I feel the same anointing in this place that I felt 8 days ago when there were 600 to 700 intercessors in this place. Imagine a Resurrection Sunday and repeat that Resurrection Sunday for four days in a row. And you are already beginning to see and fill it with crazy people for the Lord. But people who worship the Lord red hot.
And some adoring the Lord here in the Shrine, others interceding for others in the corners, others walking down the aisle and praying in tongues at the same time. Imagine that environment and not just during services. There was intercession here for 24 hours. Those young people - 300 young people - came from Kansas City and another 100 from here in Boston. 400 young people interceding for the region. They arrived in buses with a purpose and a purpose nothing more. They came for the purpose of interceding for Boston. They purposely lost sleep over Boston. For us. For all that we present before the Lord.
They and also using a good Pentecostal saying "they stood in the gap". What do we mean by that? The “standing in the gap”. There is a biblical pattern, my brothers, throughout the Bible this drama is found. It is a drama that repeats itself over and over again. First, God is about to visit a town. In this case his people loved with judgment. Before that, look for intercessors. It's a pattern. In Genesis, for example, we have this mysterious drama: Abraham is at home, quiet, with Sarah. The Lord had not even given Isaac yet and these three characters arrive, loved ones, divine beings and they talking among themselves, these angels themselves ask themselves: Will we do this without sharing it with our friend Abraham?
And they shared with Abraham: 'Look, God is about to hang Sodom and Gomorrah. What do you think of this?' And they enter into a dialogue so that God first, why does God have to discover his plans to a man, a human being? The intimacy of your heart. If the God –El Shalai- the most high God made a decision then he made a decision. My brother, he made a decision, don't you think? Who is going to quarrel with God? Unless he's an intercessor. There are certain people that the Lord endows with the ability to be part of a miracle, to be a partner in divine decisions. And this does sound crazy.
Still wrestling with God, similar to how Jacob wrestled with the angel to get a certain decision… frankly so that certain decisions and certain things that the Lord has in mind would want to do be done through this person. This person is already an essential part of a divine decision. You know what that tells me? When God says 'I looked for someone to stand in the gap. I saw this people "rotten" in sin. There was not one more sin. Read Chapter 22. 'There's not one more sin they could invent but first I looked for someone to stand in the gap and I couldn't find him and I have to destroy this town.'
Do you know what this tells me? This sounds scandalous. The conclusion has to be this: there are things that God would like to do and he doesn't do it for lack of someone to stand in the gap. There are things that God's heart prefers not to do but his judgment requires it and he does it for lack of someone to stand in the gap. What do you think of that? And I thought: “Lord, why do you allow this influence? Brothers, one of these days you no longer understand that you will govern with Him. The Lord is preparing us for a divine government.
Brothers, I believe that there where the sister of mass, the intercession has not stopped. If there is a tremendous intercessor in Heaven, it is the Lord Jesus seated at the right hand of the Father interceding incessantly for us. And you know what it is like for us to arrive now with all our rubbish resolved, in Glory attire in the presence of the Lord and for the Lord to ask you 'Omar, what do you think, what should I do with my glory now here for Jupiter? What do you think where should I send my glory? Here with these rebels, with these demons What under hell should they ignite? Level 7, level 8? What do you think Omar? Does that blow your mind?
But that is intercession! One of these days we will rule with Him. And what is intercession if not that? There is a formula here, firstly the Lord looks for intercessors. That should not surprise us. Brothers, the word does not say that the eye of God -Second Chronicles- contemplates the whole earth to show his power in favor of those who have a perfect heart towards Him. Then the Lord says to the Samaritan woman in John chapter 4 ' that the Father still seeks adorers'. He seeks worshipers who worship him in spirit and in truth. Now you will say, how is it that the Lord looks for intercessors? An ad in the newspaper, an ad in the newsletter. Sister Carolina, the Lord is looking for intercessors, please talk to Pastor Omar.
How is it done? Has this happened to you? You are watching television or you are listening to an advertisement on the radio and at the moment something hits you and it stays in your mind and you kind of can't erase that. Nothing to do with you, you have never been to Poland and at the moment you find yourself crying for that town. You have never been to Haiti but at the moment you are losing sleep. You see a trial on television, on the news, a couple of young people doing some crime and you are praying at that moment and you don't even realize: “Lord, where are the parents of those boys? How do you allow this? Brethren, that is not a simple sentiment. I would say that in some cases that is the same breath of the Holy Spirit. The Lord calling you, the Lord seeking “Okay, you felt that way. Good. Speak now, I only ask that you pray. Start praying and I'll lead you from there."
“Start praying if something… the same spirit that awakens you, awakens that desire in you. It directs you." And be careful because sometimes it goes much further. David Welcomeson, the Pastor of Times Square Church and the protagonist of the Cross and the Dagger. Have you heard his story? The Founder of Team Challenge. How did this start? A feeling like this: Be careful to ignore those breaths of the Holy Spirit. He was watching television one day. He saw a trial going on in New York between a couple of gangsters. He had his quiet little church in Pennsylvania, the church his dad and grandpa pastored. And his destiny was to shepherd this little church but that did not leave him alone: “But Father, why? How does this happen? ‘David prays’. He began to intercede and the Lord did not leave him alone with that Nehemiah.
Do you see the pattern? He didn't let go. He got in his car, without knowing anyone, he went to New York sleeping in Brooklyn in his car. Forty years later it is one of the most powerful ministries and one of the most powerful churches New York has ever seen. But it begins with that breath of the Spirit. Those intuitions. That feeling like you lazy. The only way the Lord has to communicate with you is through your heart and mind. And it's playing your heart and your mind like a harp. Now how do you answer? The Lord seeks. 'I searched among them for someone to get in the way' SOMEONE. A man among them. I read from the new international version.
Not anyone, not anyone. We are talking about a Moses. Moses is about to destroy this town and he already has his eyes on me and I am going to send an angel to do what I promised him but if I go with them, I am going to finish them off. Well, here we are. And the Word says in Exodus Chapter 33 – it is one of my favorite chapters in the entire Bible – Moses entered that tabernacle alone with the Lord, he spoke with Jehovah face to face. What is it like? How one talks to a friend. Friend. This is the point. A good intercessor first knows his rights as a child of God, he knows this word, he knows the promises. Something hurts you because the Lord is giving you a heartbeat and you are feeling the injustice. You are feeling that there is something wrong, first of all.
Then apart from that, it's not merely knowing the word or knowing His promises, it's knowing the heart of God, knowing Him. Being used to being alone with Him. build a wall between me and this town. As David did – another intercessor. Seeing the angel of death, he raised up a sacrifice in his presence to stop the plague. Someone to do that. Not just anyone, but someone who is intimate with me and feels comfortable in my presence. That you can talk to me and then build a fence. My brothers, today we read this verse: "Ask of Me and I will give you the nations as your inheritance and the ends of the earth as your possession." But the first word is “Ask me. ask me”.
My brother, there is no giant that survives the anointing of the Holy Spirit when the Lord uses you as a channel. These people, these young people – let's stand up for a moment – from there Ihope said over and over again, and the leaders said over and over again “Lion of Judah, you who seek the joy of God at night, now invite Bruno or whoever to come close. They said over and over again “Do you know why we are here? Do you know who filled all those buses? Do you know what we do here? You brought us here. Your prayers, you have been before the throne of God praying for New England and the Lord called us from there to come here as relief and pray for you. intercede with you."
I know because I have been to Kansas City. I have heard these people pray for New England as if they lived there. There are people there - and this is the beauty of God's people - there are people in China - and they have their problems - praying for you. Interceding for you, interceding for your problems. Interceding for a face they've never seen, children they'll never know, a church they'll never visit. They don't even know it exists. There are them, there are saints standing in the gap in China. This morning –because it is tomorrow over there- for you. And we, brothers, do not dare to believe that the Spirit of God cannot clothe the world through your prayers. There is power. This is a powerhouse. There is power in the prayer of your saints.
The Lord tells you tonight, it is not that he is praying too much, simple and small. Maybe we even pray too big. The Lord tells you “Ask me”. Close your eyes for a moment. You are an intercessor because we need you. Revival is coming. I'm telling you. I mean seriously, seriously, seriously. Seriously I tell you there are gifts that the Lord has to release so that the revival that the Lord wants to pour out on New England is poured out. Prophetic gifts, healing gifts, evangelism gifts. I would say brothers, before all that, we need some intercessors. We need intercessors!
Where are you? If that's you, please stand in the gap across this region and don't let Satan's army shut you up, tire you out, discourage you, turn you down or tell you that the Lord doesn't hear you. You brought an army of young people to this place through your prayers and before them an army of angels brought you and you have not left here. The Lord, look, this seems ridiculous but at the same time great. You are an intercessor, you are a partner with the Most High God –El Shadai- you’re His partner. You are a partner, a co-creator with Him and through prayer He says to you: “My friend, what shall we do? Where are we going? Where do we send grace? Where do we send power? Where do we send...? Where do we send the intervention of the chariots of fire? Tell me. Ask of me and I will give you the nations. ask me
Intercessors stand, indeed, intercessors come, stand in the gap. If you are an intercessor, come on down, stand in the gap. Intercessors, come, your time has come. The revival is visible, a hand is seen, a cloud with a small hand and rain is coming. The Lord brings his justice, the Lord brings his power, the Lord brings redemption, the Lord brings healing, the Lord brings the answer to years of dreams. Intercessor, stand in the gap. Take a moment. It's not your words, it's that heart that the Lord loves and respects. Raise, the words that you invent, but pray for your people, pray for your people, pray for the great. Pray, get up. Raise, raise, raise intercession. Stand in the gap. Stand in the gap, the Lord hears you.
Like never before, like never before in the history of the church, the Lord is listening to you. Know it, know it, know it, there is power in the prayer of your Saints. Sepal. God is listening to you, know it. Your prayer is not in vain, the Lord collects it in golden vessels and it is poured out before his feet. That is the incense that is poured out before Him. It's important. Glory to God. Glory to God. Glory to God. Father, Lord, that verse was declared here and I declare it again in the hearing of your people. Father we have heard of your fame. Lord and we've seen your mighty deeds now renew them again in these days. And Lord remember mercy and in your raffs remember mercy, renew your deeds. Renew your deeds, renew your deeds. Do them again, your works of power. We have heard of your great name and fame Master. We have heard of your works, Lord, and your people have not tired of waiting on You. Your people have not tired of hoping that ours will also see what our fathers saw, that our eyes will also see what your saints saw. That we will also witness the great work of God.
Your hand has not been cut, your ear has not stopped, your anointing Lord keep running. Here is a fresh town, here is a renewed town. Here are souls who love you, here is a generation, Lord, chosen by you. In the gap, in the gap, in the gap, Lord. Renew your deeds Lord Jesus. Renew your works, heal the sick, Lord. Father, bring revelation to governments and bring them to your feet, Lord. Bring to your feet every work that opposes your glory. Do it Lord in our days, renew your deeds. If we dare to believe that your Word will be announced in public schools. We dare to declare it, we dare to declare it. We do dare to believe that it will emerge from our passionate youthful milieu, adoring you madly, adoring you with abandon, adoring you as the only true God. Losing sleep in front of your presence. Our young people, they will be those young people, our children, my God.
Father that includes our children, Lord Jesus. That promise, that promise will not be fulfilled without our children, Lord. That promise will not be fulfilled without our children. Remember them, when you blow on this earth with your revival. Start with that generation of Samuel, raise it up, raise it up in our media, master. Lord, there will not be a village in a corner of a corner of Latin America that will not feel the anointing that will be poured out on this place in our days. People who will never know us, Lord, they will come to your feet, they will come to your feet. For the prayers that are being raised today. Preparing in the gap, Lord Jesus. Father, there is anointing in these men who here receive the soul at five in the morning. Father, we put firewood in that oven, Lord, we put firewood in that oven, Lord. Father, may prayers be heard in this place around the clock, Master.
For the glory of your name, hear the prayer of your people. Listen to the prayer of your people. We stand in the gap. We dare to believe that You are the same God yesterday, today and forever, Lord. We dare to believe it. We believe this Jesus.
