you will receive power

A supernatural life. Acts, chapter 1 beginning with verse 6, verse 7, verse 8. While you are searching, brethren, this word I want to encourage you to see if you are here, not all of you, but many of you, perhaps most of us, perhaps not all but most of us are here because we are facing something big, apparently insurmountable. I am talking about whether there are problems, but I tell you that there are problems and there are problems that are not problems, it is already a way of life. There are problems that are so big and so seemingly insurmountable that we've gotten used to them, it's almost part of the family. We have already dictated a life through them, it controls the scene in such a way that it already dictates our thinking, the decisions we make, how we raise our children, how we work, why we work, where we work. They already dictate how we live, they control us, they control us.

And you're here because you're asking the Lord, Lord, will there be a way to get past this and conquer this hill. And what the Lord tells him, and this what the Lord is sharing with him about this word, is that this is not the vision of the Lord for you, first of all, overcome it. God wants more, expects more from you and for you. The Lord not only wants you to overcome these seemingly insurmountable problems, He wants us to conquer it, to conquer it. And for that you have access to his supernatural power.

“…..Then those who had gathered asked him saying, Lord, will you restore the kingdom of Israel at this time? And he told them, it is not up to you to know the times or the seasons, that is, the key times and moments that he has determined, it is not up to you to know the times or the seasons that the Father put in his sole power, but you will receive power and when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth…”

My brothers, each one of us, you cannot identify with the disciples. Imagine, they ask the Lord, Lord, before you leave, before you ascend, don't you think about restoring Israel, don't you think about fixing these things that are out of whack and the Messiah is supposed to fix? You were supposed to attend and that's why you came? Brothers, understand well, this is the moment of greatest glory apparently, it seems that the risen Christ leaves at the moment of his great triumph. They saw Jesus Christ win over death, they see him incorporated after having died, they clearly see that Jesus is Lord. There is no doubt that he is the Messiah, there he is resurrected.

Why does the Lord now decide to go to heaven with so much that has not been resolved? What is the Lord doing, what madness is this? The Lord will leave the scene like this with so many things out of control. And it is not like that. We declare a Gospel that says that Jesus has risen from the dead, that he is seated at the right hand of the Father, that he has all authority and you yourselves have not asked this question when you did not know the Lord. Did you know like this and why so much mess? If so, why so much injustice? If so, why these unjust laws? If so, why so many diseases? If so, why is the economy the way it is? If so, why are so many things out of control? You haven't heard that? You have not spoken well?

And you know what? we all entered this world already with systems and policies in place by the time we arrived and we had no control over them. By the time we arrived, by the time you were born, things were already in place that you had no control over. There they are, there they are. And we don't know why, don't know why God allows these things to be there, why he has allowed it.

But the Lord's response is look, there are certain things that the Father doesn't even want you to bother with. And brothers, there are certain things that you have been asking the Lord for and I can encourage you, come before the Lord, bring your requests to the Lord, bring your questions to the Lord, bring your uncertainties to the Lord, but do not be scandalized if perhaps The Lord's answers is, that is not up to you, my brother, that you will never have the answer, you will never know the heart of God about that. The Lord for some reason has allowed this and that.

He knows, and it is so, the Lord tells him, look, it is not up to you to know these things. There are things that are out of your control and out of your hands and God wanted it that way. Before you get depressed, I am going to tell you that this scene is going to change, but stay with me, for the moment and know that God has a plan with this, believe me, but for now know that God has allowed certain things to be Out of your control and out of your hands. We did not choose how we were born. You were born as and where and through the parents the Lord chose for you. You didn't choose how you were born, you didn't choose who your parents were going to be, you can't change their height, their race, their skin or the color of their eyes, you can't change what your ancestors did to theirs. You don't see people living all their lives still fighting a war that happened 150 years ago? And that is his reason for living. Trying to correct injustices that were here before they were born and will be here if God allows, after we leave and that's how they live.

Or even more so, we cannot change even what you have done, what we did years ago. What done is done. The decisions you made 5 years ago, 10 years ago, last month, that's done. And it is written in history. Now, how do you react when you hear that? And this is the difference. The supernatural attitude knows that it can choose.

Tonight and this is the difference of supernatural power, you can choose the victim symptom, you can choose tonight and say, well, I have no control over these things and we can live lamenting our failures, lamenting what we have lost or what you never had. You can live like this. And there are many who live, the vast majority of humanity lives like this.

But you are here tonight because God has shown you a door number 2, an alternative. You are here because for some reason glory to God, the Holy Spirit has worked in your spirit and told you, you don't have to live like this. You don't have to live regretting what you can't control because we can receive power.

Brothers, it may not be like that or it may not sound like that in your interior, but perhaps the little voice that you heard that brought you here said something like this, something similar to this. You know, I don't understand why I feel this way, but I feel like I was born for something more. Although no one in my family, although none of my circumstances say that I am going to survive this, something tells me that my life can change. What's more, something and this indefinite something that there is hope although I don't see how there can be hope, that there is a solution although it is impossible to see the source of that solution. And that is why this mystery of the Gospel, the voice of the waterfalls, as Psalm 42 says, speaking in the depth of our souls, the whisper of the Holy Spirit inviting us to seek something more.

The Lord says, yes, ok, there are things that are not for you to understand and perhaps there are things that are not for you to control, but this is what the Lord tells you, you will receive power. When the Holy Spirit descends upon you, you know, it's not enough... God's purpose is not for you to control your circumstances, that is not the goal of the church of Jesus Christ. There are many programs that offer that. The world offers that. The secular world, the secular mind can help you cope but the purpose of the Kingdom of God is not for us to control our circumstances or even to overcome our circumstances, the purpose of the Kingdom of God is for us to conquer our circumstances.

What do you mean by that? Let's go back to Romans, chapter 8, for a moment. All this is done by the presence of the Holy Spirit in you. Romans, chapter 8, verse 11, this is the process. You hear that whisper from the Lord, inside a church, go, look for where this brother worships, his brother, his neighbor, his cousin who goes to that church. Go. Perhaps your situation can change, that moment you have an encounter with the Holy Spirit and the word declares like this:

“…and if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies, through his spirit that dwells in you….”

In other words, we are talking about one and the same spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. What does that mean? Firstly, number 1, the first thing to die is death. The Lord is promising you eternal life. The moment the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord, he erases your sins, he, the living Christ lives in you, the Lord writes your name in the book of life, but there is more. When the spirit of God dwells in one things have to change and so declares the word. Let's go then to verse 31:

"... what then shall we say to this, if God is with us who against us?..." verse 37, "... before in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us for which I am sure that not even the neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, neither height nor depth, nor any other created thing...", laws are created things, your family is something created, the situation that brought you here was something created…., “…nothing else under the throne of God can separate you from the love of Christ and his authority…”

Well, at ground level, what does this mean? Transformation. On this very night brothers, if you say, and this is a process. First of all you have, as Jesus told his disciples, seek the Holy Spirit, yearn for the Holy Spirit, fall in love with the Holy Spirit, tell him, I need you. This can't change unless you don't change it. This requires you, spirit of God. Lord, make my life a worthy place, worthy, Lord, of your presence.

and what happens? Maybe at that moment you won't feel anything, but the moment you go home, you and your world will change. Firstly you will not see life the same. The first thing that happens when the Holy Spirit begins to dwell in you is that you see doors open when there were walls, you see hope and joy when only depression and death reigned. In other words, the first thing that happens, happens within us. Didn't it happen to you like that? It seems somewhat gradual but at the moment you enter your apartment, get in your car, walk the streets, the same day you received the Lord Jesus and at the moment you say, wait, something is not the same. And maybe you are noticing more problems. The mess in your house, the mess in your finances, the mess in your family, welcome to life, you woke up from the dead. You are alive. Are you alive. Finally the Lord opened the eyes of your understanding, and not only that, the world around you begins to see the authority of God in you.

There is something indefinite that happens when the Holy Spirit dwells within you. And already the laws of the universe have to bend to the Holy Spirit who is in you. Brethren, because the Holy Spirit is in you, doors begin to open that you didn't even realize existed before.

Power means you can. Due to the fact that the Holy Spirit is in you, you can receive wisdom for a decision that years ago, things that have been an obstacle to your life, and at the moment you see the Lord enlighten your mind and receive the mind of Christ. You can finally have control over your finances. You can finally gain control over addictions and character flaws that have been following you your entire life. You can finally be the father that boy needs. You can finally be the mother that home needed. And you will be my witnesses.

And that is the point. Jesus had a plan, he had a plan for the Kingdom to return to Israel. You know, what was his plan? His life.

Last Sunday in a discipleship class the brothers gave their testimony why they were in... what was it that moved them to follow Christ and what was it that moved them when they entered into discipleship? And each of these men from different countries, of different ages, with different backgrounds told the same story: I saw my mother come to the Lord and I saw how her attitude changed, how she stopped smoking, how she stopped staying up late, how she overcame the depression, and finally I said, wow, there is something in this and I have to get closer to see what is here. I saw my wife, my wife arrived first, and I saw how God transformed her. And at first I accompanied her to accompany her, but after all, the word reached me and my life has not been the same.

My brothers, the world can persist with our theology, but the world cannot persist neither in this age nor today with miracles. Brother, you are a miracle factory. The moment the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you are a machine through which the Lord produces miraculous results. And you will be a witness.

Let's stand up. I am going to invite you to receive power at this time. You are more than a conqueror, through the spirit of God that dwells in you. And it starts with him, it starts with a dialogue with him. Brothers, there are times when I am one of these disciples and I measure the signs and I watch the news and I look at the natural and I am troubled, I am going to confess to you, I am troubled because I stop looking at the fact that the spirit dwells within me of the risen God, of the risen Christ. My brothers, dialogue with the spirit of God at this time. Jesus through your spirit I invite your power. Lord, through your spirit, focus your power and tell it where, tell it where, tell it where. If you are one of those say, Lord, this has a solution, I do not have to live with a perpetual sentence of this problem, of this addiction, of this wall for which you were resurrected and that is why your spirit dwells in me. I invite you spirit of God, I invite you spirit of God, I invite you spirit of God, I invite you spirit of God. I declare that my body is your temple, I declare that all authority, all power falls at your feet. I declare Jesus, that you are now the one who rules. Now, dwell above all circumstances, in the name of Jesus you have made me more than conqueror. Be it today, be it tomorrow, but Lord, sooner or later I declared myself the winner over everything that opposes your reign in my life. We declare it in the name of Jesus.

You are not a winner again, brothers, know what you are, we are more than conquerors. We are more tan conquerors. More than conquerors, through you Jesus. Thank you Jesus.
