Summary: The speaker talks about the importance of living in God's time and how it is a matter of timing. He quotes Ecclesiastes 3 and explains that there is a time for everything, including a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to cry and a time to laugh, and so on. He talks about how God is with us in different ways, sometimes in front of us, sometimes behind us, sometimes next to us, and sometimes not there at all. He encourages everyone to embrace God's timing and to know Him in new ways. He leads a prayer for God's blessings on everyone's lives and declares that it is God's time for new things to happen in the new year. The speaker ends the message with a song and encourages everyone to celebrate the new year with the new wine called 'Jesus'.
The song encourages people to choose the new wine called 'Jesus' instead of getting drunk on the streets. It celebrates the new year and encourages people to have fun.
I believe that one of the things that God put in my heart to be able to share with you is that we rejoice in Him. My wife always tells me that life is short and that you have to enjoy it to the fullest. And I have wisely learned to receive that advice from my wife.
So I have wanted, my brothers, and so I understand that it is the desire of God's heart that we enjoy every minute of tonight to the fullest. That is why we rejoice from the beginning. Each of the songs that we have been able to raise before God. Being able to hear Orlando and Vanessa ministering as well.
Look, and also be ministered to by Jessi and the joy that comes out of his pores. And I believe that all this, my brothers, represents something of God. And how He rejoices with each one of us. How He rejoices in you. And as I meditated on a word for tonight. One of the things the Lord put on my mind was the following. It's all a matter of time.
Let me say it again, it's all a matter of timing.
The seasons of the year mark a time. The clock is ticking right now. The mere fact that you are sitting there now marks a time. But the most beautiful thing of all is that right now we are in God's time.
We are living in a time, Kairos, so to speak. That Kairos implies that God is in such an intentional action that we cannot be ignorant of what He is doing in our midst. Things as simple and as simple as a handshake with someone can be a divine appointment that God is giving us. The mere fact that at some point we receive a call that we were not expecting. It may be God's time for your life or for the life of that person on the other end of the phone.
Look at this, Ecclesiastes, chapter 3: It says the following, and those who are following in English can follow me.
It says, "Everything has its time and everything under the sun has... its time." Tell the person next to you, 'Everything has its time. And your time is drawing near.' Look how the story goes. biblical.
The biblical account says that there is a time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to destroy and a time to build. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to rejoice.
Actually, it says a time to dance here, right?
There is a time to scatter stones. And there is another time to gather those stones. There is a time to hug. And there is a time to refrain from doing so. There is a time to search. There is a time to lose. There is a time to save things. And there is a time to discard that very thing. A time to break things down. And a time to bring them back together. A time to shut up. And a time to talk. A time to love. And a time to hate. Everything under the sun has its time. And we are in God's time.
Look, that may be repeating. I'm going to be repeating this all night. What is missing in the next few minutes.
Look at these my brothers, living in God's time is something that, once again, we cannot ignore. It does not imply that we are going to be living like this, life from day to day. It means that each moment has to be lived with an intention. Even when I go to bed to sleep, I have to do it with an intention. Because even in my dream it could be that I have an encounter with God, that I have to be attentive to that. And God wants, my brothers, to show new things to each one of us. That's something we've been hearing for the last four, six months in this church: that God wants to do something with us. Many of us have not experienced it already.
But that time is drawing near. Where we can see God in our midst as we have never seen him before. You know what? Many of us are going to begin to know God in many new… ways. Let me illustrate something for you. Pastor Greg stay there.
There are times... where God is in front of you. And He's the one taking all the hits for you. Does anyone have a tomato or an egg over there? What can they throw away? Look, they're not going to give it to me! But, at the same time, there is another time where God is behind you. He is pushing you and He is motivating you. And He is saying to you: 'Dare. Do it now. I am directing you. I am guiding you. I am the one who is opening doors for you.
And now there are other times, where God is by your side.
Can I use your hand? Oh yeah. And throws your hand to the side. And he tells you, 'Don't worry. Cry on my shoulder.’ Perhaps we have experienced God in different ways. Some of us have been in that season where God is in front of us. Maybe some of you are in the season where God is behind you, pushing you.
And it may be that some of you have God right next to you. Now, but there is a time also, where God is not. Could you go to that corner Greg? You can continue translating.
There are times where God is not. You look for it in front, behind, to the side - and it is not there. And we usually say that this time is, what? The desert. It is the time where we do not feel God. We feel abandoned. We believe that God has neglected us. But you know what? The point is that God has not neglected us.
That desert is what my brothers serve, and I believe that this is something that God has implanted in my heart. We usually see the desert as something negative. But that desert is so that you can internalize everything that God has done with you while he was in front of you, behind you, and next to you. You need those alone times so that you can digest things. If God is with you all the time, giving you food in your mouth, you are not going to learn to grab it and throw it yourself. These are the times that God uses to help you grow.
There are four times: God in front of you, God behind you, God next to you, and when God is not there.
Where are we? As we close out this year 2009. Where have you been? What time do you identify with? I believe, my brothers, and I do not want to say this for redundancy, but at the same time I want to repeat it: We are in a time of Emmanuel. On Wednesday when we celebrated Christmas Day, that was part of the message that I was able to share with you.
That we are in a time of Emmanuel, God with us.
Last Sunday, Pastor Samuel also shared this message. What it means to live under that feeling that God is that Emanuel. That God is with us, that God is among us and God is in favor of us. And today I cannot avoid, my brothers, saying to each one of you: Emanuel. That God is with us. We are in a time, my brothers, like never before, when the presence of God is walking with each one of you.
It is as if we had that column of fire at night and that cloud that covers us from the sun during the day. We are living in those seasons, where God is going to be opening ways before you. He is going to be taking all the blows, because He is going to serve as a shield for your life. But as it serves as a shield it will open doors for you.
And in the same way He will be behind you, moving you, pushing you, encouraging you so that you can achieve those things that God has already won for you. God will be by your side to cheer you up, when you feel like crying, so that you can cry with Him. That you can feel comforted or comforted.
And also God is going to bring that time, where you are going to feel alone, you are going to feel alone and, you know what? When you feel like this, I don't want you to come to us pastors saying: 'Pastor, I feel that God has abandoned me.' When you feel like this, think about the following: God wants you to internalize what He has shown you. Sow it in your heart. As this scripture says well, there is time for everything. And God has his times for you.
Times will come in this 2010, take a good look at it. Times will come in this 2010, where something new will be born. But at the same time, something is going to die. There will come times in which you will have to sow, and the time will come when you will be able to uproot what you have sown. The moment will come where you will be making an effort to pick up those stones that have been scattered. But there's also going to come a time where you're going to have to spread things out one way or another.
It is very interesting when Pastor Gilberto was saying a few minutes ago. Because this morning I also heard it on the radio. I heard on the radio someone say that for this new year we are going to have to forget about the blessings that God gave us in the past year. Forget what is left behind to be able to enter this new year with a new expectation of what those blessings are going to be, those new blessings that God is going to bring to our being. Those blessings that God is going to bring to our entire lives.
Blessings that we can share with others. Your time is coming, my brother and my sister, where you are going to know God in a new light. And my prayer, the desire of my heart, and I understand that it is God's desire as well, is that you can know it like this.
I would like to do something, my brothers, I have 10 minutes left. Ten minutes, and I would like you to please stand up. What I would like is that we could say a prayer before, wow, yes, if you can put my watch there, cool. Give me the watch.
I would like us to say a very special prayer. And if you are with a relative of yours, who is there close to you, I encourage you to grab that person and get together there for a hug. If you are alone, and you have a brother or sister in Christ by your side, I encourage you to reach out to that person as well.
And if you don't know anyone, then know someone in the family in Christ. And we are going to say this prayer, obviously without music, because I want the musicians to be with their families too. If you see us online, please hold on to your family too.
And think of this word: 'It is God's time for my life. It is God's time for my family. It is God's time for this church. It is the time to see new things. The time will come to lose things, but new things will come after those things. And all because it comes from God.
If you are the head of the family, I am speaking to you fathers or husbands, I want you to bless your wife, your children. And that those wives can receive that blessing. If you are with your brothers or sisters there, if they are friends. Take turns praying for each other, and ask that God's timing be fulfilled in that person's life.
Lord, Jesus, as a Church we come before you. We come before you as families. We come before you as brothers and sisters, friends, we are part of your family, part of your body, Lord.
And, Father, at this moment, in a special, prophetic way, I declare your blessing on all these people who are here tonight. Father, this year 2009, this year 2009 brought many things, it took many things away, we experienced different new things, and now we are heading into the year 2010 looking for what You have for us. Things that the eyes have not seen, things that the ears have not heard, things that have not risen in the hearts of men but that are in Your heart, that You have heard them. That they have come out of Your mouth, that You are seeing them right now. It is to those things that we turn.
We turn our faces to You, Lord, and claim Your blessing upon our lives, upon our families, upon this Church, upon our jobs, upon our neighborhoods, our community, this state of Massachusetts, the nation of America, the countries from which we come.
We say that it is Your time, that it is Your time, Lord. Be You, Emmanuel. God with us. God between us and God in our favor. Father, we declare Your blessing on your people, Lord. New things happening in this new year, Jesus. To you we give the glory, to you we give the honor forever and always. Amen and amen, Lord Jesus. Glory to you Jesus.
Where's Jessie? Jessie left me. Bring your guitar, my brother. Jessie Jr, bring your beloved box. They do not feel. They do not feel.
This is the moment where I ask all of you who have brought your New Year's hats to put them on. The horns that can sound, the glasses that say '2010' with lights. Because you know what? In the next minute we're going to sing again, Jessie. We are one of those who believe that with the power of God it is possible. And since I know that Jessie sings better than me, I'm going to put the microphone on him.
Let's declare this. Let's declare this before the Lord. One more time.
already. I'll let you know.
