Summary: The speaker begins by discussing his prayers for the new year, in which he asks God to help him serve him better and to teach him how to get closer to him. He then reflects on the importance of a new heart, citing Ezekiel 36 and Psalm 51. He believes that many believers carry negative emotions and past issues in their hearts, hindering the Holy Spirit from entering their lives. He emphasizes the importance of cleansing the heart with the word of God and loving God with all of one's heart. He also discusses how small sins such as pride and deceit can contaminate the heart. The speaker encourages listeners to invite the Holy Spirit into their hearts and to make room for God in their lives.
The sermon emphasizes the importance of loving God with all one's heart, confessing sins, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. The pastor encourages the congregation to let go of old routines and customs and to open their hearts to God's love and guidance. He invites those who want a new heart to come forward and surrender to Christ. The sermon concludes with a prayer for new hearts and a fresh anointing from the Holy Spirit.
The speaker is praying for the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts of the León de Judá congregation to receive new wine. They ask for the presence of God and the power of the Holy Spirit to come upon them and for everyone listening to raise their hands and ask for a new heart. They give thanks and honor to Jesus for saving them and giving them new hearts for the new year.
I want you to pray for me so that God gives us freedom. Say it with me, new year so what? Well tell your brothers, say it, new year new heart. But say it louder, with a smile. New year new heart. I want to tell you that on this last day of the year, like all of us who were here, I was also like every year thanking God for the past year and preparing for the new year.
And in my prayers I asked the Lord to prepare me, to help me and that I knew and know that there is a long road ahead, and I asked God to teach me what I had to do to serve him better and that I could get closer more to him this day 10 of this year, on April 10 I celebrate 30 years of being baptized and 26 years of preaching the word of the Lord. And I was telling him Lord, I want to serve you better and I was saying to the Lord, I want you to teach me what I have to do to be able to get closer to you.
And like every year I make resolutions. How many made resolutions? Goals. The first was to lose a little weight but I already broke that one. On the 31st, I promised to eat healthier and God bless a family that sent us a stuffed chicken and I said, Lord, forgive me, I already started badly. That is why we are as we are and we do not lose weight. How many have already broken a resolution? Be honest, move a hand if you've already broken a resolution. Esta bien! We have a good group with a lot of discipline.
Well we all make resolutions, we all make goals and some of us break them immediately like yours truly. But in these resolutions I told the Lord, I want you to teach me how I can serve you better. And then the Lord spoke to me during the night and told me that I needed a new heart. And there in Ezekiel 36 verse 26 to 27 says:
“…I will give you a new heart and I will put a new spirit within you, and then he says, I will remove from you the heart of stone….”
Everybody say stone. “…. And I will give you a heart of meat. I will put my spirit within you and I will make you walk in my statutes and keep my precepts and put them why?..."
When God gave me this reading, I was first offended as a good Mexican, Lord, but I have served for many years, what are you saying? But then the Lord took me to Psalm 51 where the great King David writes:
“Believe in me, oh God, what? Say it louder. And then….and renew my right spirit within me…”
So I began to understand that our hearts can get rough, it can get dirty. How many say amen to this? And then the Lord took me to the New Testament and says in Mark 2:22:
"... And no one puts new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the new wine breaks the skins and the wine is spilled and the skins are lost but the new wine must be poured into new skins...."
Our León de Judá congregation church is entering a prophetic, apostolic dimension of the movement of the spirit, of this new wine. But the Lord spoke to me directly and I want to dedicate this message to this church to the whole world, to those who listen to us on the Internet. Some pastors who wrote to me told me, in this new year we are looking for the movement of the Holy Spirit, we want to see the glory of God. How many want to see the glory of God?
So, brothers, when examining these Scriptures that the Lord gave them to me on December 31, I was thinking, Lord, what do you want to say to your church and to me personally? And then the Lord made me understand that many believers and people who still do not have God in their lives carry things from the past in their hearts, from 2009 and some from years and years and years. And sometimes we carry things that are not so good, we can bring in our hearts resolutions, defeats, roots of bitterness that can sometimes, brothers, be the reason that the Holy Spirit has no place in our hearts.
In other words, there are things that may be hindering us from the new wine entering our lives. And then I said to the Lord, but Lord, why the heart, why the heart, Lord, and I did not understand that, I have read and explained many times about the heart but the Lord made me understand that God does not see the appearance , he sees the heart. Sometimes he does not see everything that we could be doing externally, but as he told Samuel there and told him, do not look at his opinion before anointing the king, he says, nor keep his stature, he says, because I reject him, because Jehovah He does not look at what the man says, he sees, then the man looks at what?, he sees what is before his eyes but Jehovah, what does he look at? Say it louder, Jehovah looks at the heart.
This means that God is watching our heart every day. How many say amen to this? And the Bible also tells us there in First Chronicles 28:9 that God also not only sees the heart but scrutinizes it. Two different things, seeing it and scrutinizing it. If we go to the etymology of this word in the Greek, we will realize that this word means that he investigates it, observes it, analyzes it, wants to know what is there. And so, brothers, it is very necessary that we understand that it is very important for God how our heart is and this morning I would like you to open your heart and let the Holy Spirit in this new year, today on January 10, 2010, ten ten, on this day God gave us a new heart so that we could start this year and give God space to see our heart, to scrutinize it but also to remove from our hearts those things that do not please him and put his spirit inside our heart.
I want to tell you, we go to the Bible that says the word of God that exists in our hearts, and in our hearts there are some little things that sometimes we don't like to talk about. Gospel according to Saint Mark, chapter 7 verse 21, says:
“…because within the hearts of men and also women, and be careful with the hearts of women, they have a very big heart, they say, it also comes out, what?... You can't hear it, brothers,…. But I serve God, I have God, I go to church. Will bad thoughts still come out? Someone says amen.
And then I am surprised that the writer does not put adultery first, fornication, but puts evil thoughts. He says, adulteries, fornications, homicides, he says, thefts, greed, wickedness, anger. Let's see all the courageous say amen. God bless you for being honest. How many get angry, how many raise their Latin hand? Let's see those who got angry now move their hands. Oh, holy Lord, forgive us.
Anger, deceit, lust, envy, all the envious say amen. It's all right. God bless you, brother, for being honest. And all say the slander. That sister is powerful. Slander, pride, let's see all the proud say amen. eat on! Where is that Latino pride. Let's see all the proud say amen. Esta bien.
Says 23, all these what?, what are they doing? They come out of the inside and what do they do? So brothers, we see that in the heart there can be things that contaminate our life. And there are brothers who sometimes do not understand why and some in the counseling that we sometimes give or the help, the advice, we realize that there are people who are always in defeat, they are bitter, they are with problems. And brothers, many times they live in a negative environment because their heart is full of negative things, which contaminate their spirit because the way they speak, the Bible says, out of an abundance of what?... speaks…. And some of us are good actors but sooner or later from the abundance of the heart what is there will come out and sometimes what is there does not give God space to move and do what he wants to do with your life, with my life, because it's full of things he doesn't want to be there.
And we see, brothers, that not only adultery, fornication or big sins as some put it, but also small things, small sarcasm, pride can contaminate a man. And then he says:
“…if the heart is full there is no room for God…”
I am not a doctor but they tell me that the human heart has some divisions and brothers, the heart has a size, and brothers, I want to tell you that sometimes the heart does not have space for God because it is full of our personal agenda, 2010 I am going to do this, I'm going to do that, and we fill his heart with ideas from our own agenda. This year I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that, but don't we consult God or invite him into our hearts to tell him what you want me to do in this new year?
So, the Bible also tells us that the heart is….. is what? The heart is deceitful more than all things and perverse. Who will know him? They know that there is one who sees it, scrutinizes it and knows it. Listen well, then, if God sees it, scrutinizes it and there are things in the heart that can contaminate a man or a woman, it is important that we understand that the heart is the place where God lives because with the mouth one confesses, but with what ? With the heart I know what? It is believed. How many have believed with their hearts this morning? How many can give him a round of applause because they have believed in the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
So, I would like us to see something very important. How is the heart cleansed? I want God to create a clean heart in me. And scrutinizing I realize that one of the main things to clean the heart is the word of God. How many love the word of God? It is one thing to love her, one thing to hear her but another thing to be no longer hearers….. oh, you are tremendous.
I want to tell you something, the word of God there in the psalm says how the young man will clean his way and another Scripture but I chose this one because I am young, I feel young. How will Gilberto clean his way, with what? Turn to your brother and tell him, keep your word. Turn to your brothers and tell them, keep your word.
What does save mean? Obey, do it. The word of God is the supreme authority. There is nothing that can take the place of the word. How many say amen to this. So, for my heart to be clean and have room for God, I need the word to reach my life. And for faith to come into my life, why? Hearing, I have to listen to the word of God. I have to listen to it in the morning, at noon, I have to bring it into my heart so that this word begins to take effect in my life, in my thoughts, so that when I speak the word of God comes out and this word has power, this word transforms , this word can do something in the people that you present this word to.
These days my son Aarón plays football and I have seen that there is a lot, let's say, in the competition, a lot of enthusiasm, a lot sometimes they encourage them, they are going to win, we are going to win, we are going to do this, we are going to do that. But, and then I have seen that there is also something behind the words of encouragement and so also the believer can't just speak the word, we can't just sing the word, we can't just read the word, we have to start living the word, to do the word, let the word rule our lives so that we can begin to clean up those things that God wants to get out of here.
Number 2. Love God with all your heart. Not a quarter, not half a heart, Mark 12:30 says:
“…and you shall love the Lord your God with a part of your heart…..with all your heart, and with all…. With all….Then he says, and with all your might….”
And there the commentator puts, this is the main commandment. Many people love God on Sundays. There go the Sundays, me on Sunday, I get up early ……. I grab my coffee, I grab my Bible, I forgot it, I lost it, I don't know where it is, Pastor Omar, because we are so interested in the word that one does not know where the Bible is. Hello, I know it's early for this. I love God, I want to serve him and there is a full table. I brothers, you know what I did to punish the brothers in the churches, I said, pastor, I gave it away to new souls. But…. The word of God is not just a Bible.
Let's see all those who brought move it a little. Well, the thing is that my brother told me that he is very technical, I have it on my Blackberry. Pastor Gilbert you're outdated. You are outdated. I have my Bible on my Blackberry. You should have it in your heart, not in your Blackberry.
Because it is very nice to hide, but when a man wants to clean, a woman, her life is not ashamed of the word of God because it is power for salvation. We know that there is life here. We know that there is victory here, we know that there is healing here. We know that there is power here. So the word is very important. Love God. You have to love God.
How is love for God shown? Somebody say amen. If I could show love, I would rejoice this morning that sometimes God gives us children and I would look at brother Omar and his wife and Gregory, and I would remember when mine were little and we used to go around Europe and God bless you, Brother Omar, another prophet is coming. And I sat and looked and cried and said, how beautiful it is when one loves God, not with words but with deeds. How nice that when one says, I love God, they don't have to go around saying it, but their actions say to God, I love you. I need you.
Because love for God is not a word, it is not a feeling, it is something so great when one begins to love him, because he loved us first. And if you allow me, I want to preach to you from my heart, I have seen many people who do not know what the love of God is. And my trajectory in many places, what hurts me the most when a man, a woman rejects God and rejects his love, not knowing that they are rejecting the most precious thing that can exist in life, the love of God.
We love him because he first loved us, …………, Christ died for us. He didn't have to do it…………. They did not have it on the cross, it was not the crown, it was not….. it was the love of God for you, for me, because God loved the world in such a way and gave his only begotten Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life.
Loving God implies action, giving God a little space. I, on Saturday, was delighted to see 45 men arrive at 5 in the morning…. to this place. And some brothers are already ……….. they are waiting for me outside so that we can open the door and it touched my heart that some of these men want to come and talk with God before going to work, they want to feel God's caresses, they want God to give them speak, they want the love of God to invade their heart, mind, body and soul and spirit.
You know that God's love is something special. It is infinite, it is incomparable, the love of God is great. But unfortunately brothers, in this last hour many people are forgetting to love God with all their hearts. Things in life sometimes influence us so much that we no longer have time for God, but when someone wants to love God so that their heart can be cleansed, they need to show love to God. And sometimes there are people who do not understand that God does not ask us... but because we are already saved we do works of gratitude to give glory to him because he has made our lives.
There are people who carry a past, a very heavy baggage, problems, and there are people who are brothers, that the love of God has not invaded their hearts, all the bad, the negative, the past, the dramas, the psychoses, the neuroses, and problems. I was an orphan, I had problems, I had here, and brothers, sometimes there are people who do not give space to God's love in their hearts. And one looks at them bitter, disturbed, without victory, without a smile, without anything to thank God for and some even blaspheme God because they have not felt God's love in their lives.
I want to tell you something, brother, this morning, God continues to love us. God loves you….. God loves you sister, if you believe it, give glory to God. Thank you for that love. With what will love God cleanse.
Number 3 is a very important thing that we have to practice more this year: confessing our sins. Turn around and say, brother, did you confess your sins? Turn around, brothers, ask him, have you confessed your sins? Have you already confessed your sins? And don't tell me you haven't sinned. That is another, and right there in that Scripture from First John tells us that the one who says he has not sinned is... oh dad. Say it again sister Gloria, it sounds nice, how is it? Liar. Oh Lord. It even hurt me up to here. Let's see all the liars say amen. They have not learned, let's see, all liars forgiven say amen. Esta bien!
But it's a white lie, pastor. Now, the confession of our sins cleanses the heart, gives space for the spirit of God to come. There are people who carry unconfessed sins, that lawsuit he had with his wife, who did not like how he made the rice and beans, which burned. And I forgive her but she doesn't forget me, if my rice burns me again I'm going to have to give her one in the name of Jesus. Oh, that doesn't happen here, excuse me. And if you forget us, and there are people who bring a... back; That pastor didn't greet me, that pastor didn't let me sing, that pastor... and sometimes they bring hatred to the church, they bring pride, but when the blood of Christ comes to cleanse the heart and one says, Lord, I want to confess my sins because I need you to clean my heart, because I need more of your spirit.
So confession is very important for our hearts to be cleansed. Everyone say, give me a clean heart. New year, new heart. But say it louder, new year, new heart.
I don't know if I'm going deaf, but I don't hear things too anymore. Let's see someone say, new year, new heart. Now it is a choir. The devil does not want you to confess your sins but how many know that the Bible says, if we confess our sins you are faithful and just for what? To forgive our sins, but also… all claim to cleanse us of all evil. Let's see how many need cleaning this morning. What are we full of? Being filled with the Holy Spirit involves much more than we sometimes think. Theology, the doctrine of many is very wrong, and brothers, some think that they are filled with the Holy Spirit and have not even experienced what the Holy Spirit is.
Hello! I know it's early for this. Brethren, you know what the spirit is. Amen, glory to God. And brothers, I am already filled with the Holy Spirit, but a little problem comes along and the Bible says that he who is filled with the Holy Spirit is full of the power of God. Say, it is full of the power of God and you will receive power and you will be witnesses. How many witnesses of Christ are there this morning.
So, the problem is that sometimes our hearts do not give space to the Holy Spirit. There in Marcos we read that no one puts new wine into an old wineskin, into old wineskins. To be filled with the Holy Spirit we have to have our hearts open so that he comes to dwell in us. Walk with us, forward, backward, but also walk in us. How many want to be filled with the Holy Spirit?
So a skin was used to put liquids, especially wine, but other liquids were also put. The wineskin was made of skin, new skin so that when pouring the liquids that skin could maintain... and it was preserved... the wine fermented much better. You know, I had to live in Europe for 10 years and I learned that there are certain ways for wine to preserve itself, to retain its flavor and it is very important that the wineskin be new for new wine, because if you pour new wine into a wineskin Old man, it exploded.
Listen to me well, the old wineskins became hard, they were no longer flexible, there was no flexibility, there was no space, they were already stretched. Thus the hearts of many are already very stretched, very old. You are already in your ideas, your customs, as I say, some brothers make me laugh because there is a brother who comes for prayer, and he always comes with a cup of dunkin donuts and says, pastor, I'm already programmed. Me at 5 in the morning when I get to the Dunkin you already know what I drink, I already take it... and I come. …… that these routines become stones in our lives, they are rules that we do not change. I like the double Starbucks, (......) with little sugar, (....) not with cream but (maquiado). Italians know what I'm talking about. A cremita, a cream, say the Spaniards in the cafecito. And brothers, I am already. If you bring me another one, I take it but I get angry. Also Pastor Sam gets angry from time to time, ask Sister Carmen.
But what happens, that we get used to it, customs, methods and sometimes also in spiritual things. I see some brothers who are so programmed that they come, even the place where they sit is the same. This is for you, Peter. Sorry. But sometimes they come and they are, pastor, you want to fight. I sit here every Sunday. There is no more flexibility. And even if it's a soul, I don't care, put it there, this is my chair. Forgive me Pedro, but it's for you, dad.
I have a custom that I tell the brothers to change places because sometimes the devil can beat us, that we have lordship. I sit here... Let's see if someone is there and we see them with those eyes and even wanting to tell them, if you don't move, I'll move you.
Old wineskins, old customs, old routines. New year, new heart. And the new spirit. Someone say, new spirit. Where is brother Samuel. I would like to come to a conclusion. How many really want a new heart? The old wineskins, listen to me, something very strange was done with the old wineskins. The Hebrews have a custom that they use old skins so as not to waste them, because sometimes there were no skins to make skins. They had a custom that all the skins, all the skins that were used as skins, were thrown into a container with wine and no longer new wine, but fermented wine so that the old skin would soften a little and they would get more use out of it.
I don't know, brothers, our heart can represent a wineskin and the new wine is the Holy Spirit. In order to be filled with this new wine we need to be new wineskins. I know that you and I made plans for this new year, and God has great things for your life, but I want to tell you something, brother, if God is not in your heart you will not be happy. How many want a heart consecrated to God? Get on your feet.
I do not know what is in your heart, I do not know if you are an old or new wineskin, I am not here to judge you, I am here to try to help you. How many want a new heart before God? How many need God to take out some things that shouldn't be there? Be honest. I want those who want a new heart to come to the altar here.
If you feel pass, pass, this afternoon. We are going to finish, but I would like the Holy Spirit to minister. God bless you brother Felipe. New hearts for this church Lord.
Oh Jesus, I want to clean my heart, I want to obey your word, I don't need God's word in my life, I need to love God with all my heart. I need to confess my sins, I need to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
The spirit of God is already here, brothers, sshshshsh. God bless you brother, God bless you sister. God honors your faith. Confess to the Lord what you want. Confess to the Lord what you need. Look Lord here I am. You see the heart, you search my heart, you know what is there. Shshshshsh. Shshshhshshs.
Every man, every woman who wants a new heart, I want you to raise your hand as a sign that you surrender to Christ. Raise them high. Tell him here I am Lord. Shshshshshhs.
New year new heart. Shshshshhshshs. Receive a new heart. Servant of God, receive a new heart. Shshshshshshsh.
I would like... in the hearts of some, those raised hands are a sign that... I will obey your word, I will love you more.
I'm going to confess my sins, I'm going to clean up my life. I'm going to let the Holy Spirit come fill me. Holy Spirit. There goes the presence of God. God is dealing with your heart. God wants nothing more than your heart. God does not want anything else, only your heart. Why don't you tell him to give you a new heart, why don't you tell him, Lord, I need this new year that you be in my life, all these 355 days that remain of this year. shshshshshsh
Oh, the Lord is here to help someone. You have been carrying things in your heart that should not be there. Bring them out in the name of Jesus. Receive from God a fresh anointing, receive from God a new heart. Shshshshshshhs.
Shshshshshshsh. Wind of the Holy Spirit. Shshshshshshsh. Shshshshshshshsh. Yes, Lord, new year new hearts. New wineskins, new wine coming down from heaven. I would like this new year our hearts to change towards God. God is dealing with someone this morning. If you still have not accepted Christ and want to accept him, I want you to raise your hand and move it a little bit, if you want to start this new year, God bless you, God bless this person.
Someone else, God bless you, who wants to accept Christ and start the new year with a new heart. Raise your hand and wave it. We just want to pray for you. God bless you, friend, friend. There is a new heart prepared for you in this new year. The wine of the Lord is willing to be poured out by the Lord.
Oh Lord, yes Lord. Sweet presence of the Holy Spirit, may your spirit deal with our lives, prepare hearts for this new wine that you have prepared for your church, the León de Judá congregation. Prepare our hearts like new wineskins so that the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us. Shshshshhshsh.
You Jesus. Let the sweet presence finish what the Lord has to finish. Now I am going to invite you to pray with someone who is close to you because you do not hug your brother, your sister who is there on one side, and tell them, we are going to receive a new heart, pray with someone and declare victory, Why don't you pray with someone and declare a year with a new heart.
Oh Jesus. Jesus. new hearts. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! There goes the presence of God, there goes the power of God. Shshshshshshshsh.
Hallelujah! A new heart for your daughter, Lord. Thank you Lord for your word, thank you for your Holy Spirit.
There where you are, if you are listening to me, raise your hands and tell him, Lord, I want that new heart. Tell him, Lord, I need that new heart. I need you to touch my life. Shshshshshhs. Jesus. Thank my Lord. Thank my Lord. New hearts for 2010. A new year with a new heart. New heart, Lord. To all my brothers, to all my sisters, someone give a loud round of applause to the King of Kings, louder. Stronger. Give him glory, give him honor, give glory to the one who saved you, give him thanks for that new heart.
