Summary: The author shares a personal experience of feeling abandoned by God during a time of great pain and suffering after the death of a loved one. They reference Jesus' exclamation on the cross, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" to understand their own feelings. However, they also affirm that God would never abandon anyone and that even in the midst of pain and sorrow, His promises are faithful and true. They encourage readers to hold onto these promises and trust that God is always with them, even in the darkest moments.

When Jesus was being crucified he spoke these words: My God, my God, why have you forsaken me ?! When he made this exclamation he was going through a time full of anguish, pain and great suffering. His agony was so great that He could not feel or perceive God the Father next to Him; felt lonely at one point. The presence of God was overshadowed by so much pain, and suffering - Although God never, not for an instant left Him, Jesus felt that the spirit of God had departed from Him.

He had never fully understood such an exclamation, until recently. I recently had a very painful experience. I was going through a moment of great pain and great suffering, a very special being for me had just passed away; The woman who dedicated her entire life to mine passed away; who taught me, and modeled the love of our Heavenly Father; who on countless occasions told me: 'Miriam, the Lord is with us all the days of our lives' (“… and here I am with you all the days, until the end of the world” Matthew 28:20).

As I walked through this valley of pain and great sorrow, in an instant… for a moment… and for the first time in my life, I had the feeling that God was not with me. I had never experienced anything like it in my walk with the Lord. In the midst of my anguish I could not feel his presence. I knew He would never abandon me, but… I couldn't feel it. Cry out with tears and despair to God, saying I can't feel You, Lord! What a sad, horrible feeling. At that moment the Holy Spirit reminded me of the scene of Christ on the cross of Calvary pronouncing these words “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me ?!” (Mt. 27,46; Mk.15 , 34). Visualizing this scene, it was then that I could understand what was happening to me. Although I have hope and believe in the resurrection, experiencing the emptiness that “my old lady” had left and her absence were so painful for me, that it overshadowed the presence of God in my life. ”In that instant I gave in to tears, and I cried, I cried, and I cried.

Meditating on this experience, I understood that there are such strong situations in life that even if we don't want to, they can disturb us, and make us feel that God is not with us. But I thank Him for His promises, which are faithful and true - He never leaves us, He never would.

When death comes to one of our loved ones we can experience great sorrow, and suffering, since we are flesh / human. The Bible says that when David's son Absalom died, he was troubled and wept for him: “Then the king was troubled, and he went up to the door room, and wept; And as he went he said: My son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Oh that I should die instead of you, Absalom, my son, my son! " (2 Samuel 18:33). It was a moment of great despair for David. Abraham also experienced something similar when Sarah his wife died, mourned and wept (Genesis 23: 2). Jesus himself seeing Mary crying for his brother Lazarus, was moved in spirit and was troubled and wept: “Jesus then, as he saw her crying, and the Jews who had come together with her crying, was moved in spirit and troubled ... And he wept Jesus ”(John 11:33, 35). These examples in the Word show us that it is human to feel great sorrow and sorrow when a loved one leaves us. But we must always keep in mind that there is a wonderful hope, and that is to see them again in our eternal home, where we will never be separated again.

I have wanted to share this experience with you, because I know that it can be edifying for many. Because if it happened to me, to any of you, at some point perhaps the same has happened - you have felt that God is not with you - and if so, I want to tell you, and affirm that God would never leave you, not for an instant On the contrary, it is there when he is closest, accompanying you, and feeling with you the same pain and the same anguish that you feel. You may be going through great pain right now, but it doesn't matter how great it is; or how desperate, or distressed you are, do not take your eyes off the promises of God. He knows exactly what you are going through, and if He allowed it (because everything that happens in our lives has to be approved by Him), never doubt, He will not leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31: 8) not even for an instant. He will be there with you until the end.
