Summary: The story of King Uzziah in Second Chronicles 26 teaches us about the dangers of pride and ambition, even in the midst of a revival. Uzziah, a king of Judah, became powerful and successful, but his heart was lifted up in rebellion against God. He entered the temple to burn incense, a job reserved for priests, and when confronted by the high priest, he became angry and was struck with leprosy on his forehead. This symbolizes the spiritual numbness and insensitivity that pride can bring. The lesson for us is to examine our hearts, ask the Lord to fill any voids or insecurities, and be willing to submit to correction and obedience to God's will.

The story of King Uzziah teaches us the importance of heeding warnings and being sensitive to God's nudges. Uzziah was a successful king, but his pride led him to enter the temple and offer incense, a task reserved for priests. God struck him with leprosy as a consequence. Uzziah lived the rest of his life in isolation, and his son had to rule in his place. However, the lesson is not that God is harsh, but that if Uzziah had humbled himself and asked for cleansing, God would have healed him. The story teaches us to approach God with humility, and to be open to His power and miracles.

Second Chronicles 26. We are not going to read this entire chapter but certain sections in particular, beginning with the first verse: “Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in instead of Amaziah, his father. Uzziah built Elot and restored Judah after King Amaziah slept with his fathers. Uzziah was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem, and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord according to all that his father Amaziah had done. And he persisted in seeking God in the days of Zacharias, understood in visions of God and in these days that he sought Jehovah, He prospered him”.

Verse 8: “And the Ammonites – all this story is consistent and these verses are supporting this story – gave gifts to Uzziah and his fame spread to the border of Egypt because he had become highly powerful.” The story continues: “And he made machines in Jerusalem invented by engineers to have in the towers and in the bulwarks to steal arrows and large stones. And her fame spread far because she was marvelously helped until she became powerful."

But now the story takes another turn. And that is the Word of the Lord for us today. “But when he was already strong, his heart was lifted up for his kingdom, because he rebelled against Jehovah his God. Entering the temple of Jehovah to burn incense on the altar of incense, and after him entered the priest Asarias and with him 80 priests of Jehovah, mighty men—and I imagine with trembling knees—they stood against King Uzziah and said to him: «It is not up to you, O Uzziah! burning incense to Jehovah but to the priests sons of Aaron who are consecrated to burn it. Leave the Sanctuary, for you have transgressed, and it will not be to your glory before the Lord God."

And you can have a seat, my brothers. Seated, I finish the story. “Then Uzziah, having a censer in his hand to offer him incense, was filled with anger and in his anger against the priests leprosy broke out on his forehead. Before the priests in the house of the Lord, by the altar of incense, and the high priest Asarias and all the priests looked at him. And behold the leprosy that was on his forehead and they made him leave that place and he also hastened to leave because the Lord had struck him.”

“So King Uzziah was a leper until the day he died. And he lived as a leper in a secluded house, for which reason he was excluded from the house of the Lord. And Jotham his son was in charge of the royal house, ruling the people of the land. The rest of the first and last acts of Uzziah were written by the prophet Isaiah -son of Amos- and Uzziah slept with his parents and they buried him in the field of royal tombs because they said: "He is a leper" and Jotham his son reigned in his place .”

What a pothole on our party, tonight! What does the Lord mean with this word? And brothers, I feel a little like Asarias tonight and I feel that my knees are shaking as well. But you know what? First, receive this promise. Brethren, glorious days are coming for the kingdom of God and this church. Do you not feel, brothers, that what we have waited for, many of us 25 years, 20 years, 15 years, the Lord is already beginning to give revelations. Some testimonies that emerged tonight, just as the Pastor declared on Sunday, this is a beginning, nothing more. God is great.

We are only experiencing the frontier of God's power, the God of the Bible has not been annulled. Our word declares one God, a God who raises the dead from their graves. And in the New Testament in Romans chapter 8 the Lord promises that the same spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in you.

In other words, it is not the intention of Jehovah, it is not the intention of the Lord that his hand be cut off at this time, if not the desire, the longing of the heart of the Lord is to reveal himself with even more power. It is that through the power of the Lord, the name of the Lord is like lightning and even the foundations of our society tremble before the presence of the Lord and that men will have no choice but to kneel and declare that Jehovah, your God, It is God and Him to serve.

The Lord wants to do that and do it in your family, do it with your body, do it with your children, do it with your mind, do it with you, do it with me. And at the same time that the Pastor shared this vision, the Pastor also shared something that should make us shudder. He said that this is the desire, the longing of the Lord. There are things that God wants us to experience as a Church and as a church of Jesus Christ with a capital “I”. But there are certain patterns, there are certain codes that the Lord expects us to touch in order for that door to open. There are spiritual keys that only through the use of them allows the flow of God to be seen with all its power and all its authority.

Brothers, these days, brothers, we who are asking for the revival of the Lord to come at once, that is the way we should pray. Master, anything that can hinder -whether it be in the Church of Jesus Christ or in me as part of the body of Christ- Lord from being removed in the name of Jesus and any obstacle to your power, any obstacle to your grace, anything that dare limit or dull the voice of the Lord from being heard. Lord, let it be removed and cast out. We say Amen.

Anything that can resist the flow of the Lord; Lord get him out of here. And don't just get him away from here, get him away from me. And my brothers, there is a gigantic obstacle that can resist God's treatment in our church, but not only in our church, in your life and make your ministry ineffective and even destroy your effectiveness as a servant of God. And it is brothers, this seed, this obstacle, this sin – in truth it has existed even before planet Earth – pride.

My brethren, Satan's recipe has not changed from the moment he learned to use this to – not only make him fall before the Lord's presence – but managed to convince a third of Heaven's angels. And since then his recipe has not changed and here we see it broken down.

Only, brothers, we are going to talk about the manifestations that are here clearly. We are going to learn from Uzziah, we are going to learn from him. There are a couple of things that we can receive, precisely now at this time in Jerusalem, Israel was in a time of revival and this is why we have to pay attention. This did not happen to Uzziah at a time of shame in the life of Judah, but of Glory. What happened to Uzziah happened at the height of a revival that had broken out in Judah. And about his own life and his own ministry.

In other words, brothers, one of the things we have to watch out for, to ask the Lord, 'yes, let these miracles come. Yes manifest Your power', is to watch over this. And one of the simplest applications is this.' Well, Pastor Samuel, this clearly speaks of pride of position' and brothers, that is one of the most obvious applications. What was he thinking? What was Uzziah thinking? Clearer could not be the word. He was a man instructed in the word of the Lord all his life, accustomed -52 years he visited the temple- he was not a novice here. He knew that was not his position. What got into it? He got the idea that someone forbade him something. There was something unattainable, forbidden to him.

Brothers, the forbidden is attractive. Brethren, say, 'but Pastor Samuel, what's wrong with a little ambition? What's wrong? Doesn't the word say that "he who desires a bishopric desires a good thing"? Can't I wish to do something else in the Kingdom of God? Can't I yearn to climb the ranks? Brothers, the desire for a bishopric is when the word of the Lord speaks and at the same time when the Lord speaks about it he says: “Not everyone can fill those places. There are people who deserve it."

But talk more about this and let's get to the point. It is not desire, it is pride and ambition, which are two different things. I invite you, brothers, to think about this and this is the net that Satan casts because there is no end to this. It is a vicious spiral. There is no way. If you get on that carousel there is no place where you can take off. There is no level that will satisfy you. The one who opened the door to the King envied the lieutenant to Rey, the lieutenant to Rey longed to be the king. The king was not satisfied with being just any king, he wanted to be a powerful king and the powerful king was not satisfied with being a powerful king if not at the same time a priest.

And you who are by the Grace of Jesus Christ King and priest -because that is what the Lord says- still we find ways to ride on ambition. And you know what I invite you in the name of Jesus: think well. Where does that come from? Because in this there is, listen to the voice of the love of the Lord. Many times that comes out of a void inside of you. That is born, brothers, of our character –perhaps that we can fill such a void with one more title or one more position- and the void is still there.

What the Lord tells you tonight is: let us examine our hearts. I am preaching this word, I am under this word and I am under the finger of God too. I'm preaching too!

And my brothers, know this, if you have felt for this it is the Lord, I, you know my heart, that is precisely because of this. Worry about the way I want to love you and not so much how I want to use you. Care about my love, let me love you. Let me fill every hole, every emptiness. Let me be your personality, that you inform yourself by the fact that you are my son, you are my daughter and there is nothing in the house that is not yours.

Everything is within your reach and I love you. And let the Lord fill that void. Ask the Lord.

Brothers, I believe that there is an even more basic application. King Uzziah was confronted with his mistake. And I am going to ask you: have you found yourself like King Uzziah from time to time? When we are out of order and if you are Adam's son, Adam's daughter, from time to time we will be out of order.

When we are out of order and the Lord calls our attention and 99% of the time it will not be through an angel that He sends but one of His Ministers. A prophet of the Lord. It can be one of the staff Pastors, it can be someone in your cell, it can be a friend in your prayer circle. But you are confronted and for the moment the prophet of Jehovah –whoever the Lord chooses- tells you: “That is not for you. You are acting in a sinful way. You are not honoring the Lord in this way.”

How do you react? These poor priests, he says: 'Eighty brave men' and if you are going to confront a man with an army still numbering 300 thousand men. You'd better be courageous to do that, –valiente. They confront him and instead of him admitting what he had done. What was in his hand? A censer, right? Word lets you fill in the blanks. But brothers, watch this movie: the man is about to - this is a huge device - and he is about to burn incense and he is filled with what? of anger

And hasn't that happened to you? But how bad is what I'm doing? I'm just worshiping the Lord. Just my way. I'm burning incense! Brothers, how difficult is this! Many times we still burn incense before the presence of the Lord and the Lord indicating what the Lord wants is that we obey him.

That way you are a worshiper. Do you want to worship the Lord? honor it. Because what you are doing, Fulano, what you are doing, Rey, is not for you to do. The Lord wants to bless you, loves you, honors you, but he cannot do it because you are not doing what corresponds to you.

The man is filled with anger. OK. Two things happen and two have a gigantic symbol. Firstly, it immediately broke out on his forehead… what? Leprosy. And if that's leprosy, as far as I understand by letter – there's an excellent book by Dr. Philip Jansie: “Where is God? Where it hurts?,” which describes very well what this is. Leprosy itself is not fatal. It kills in a strange way because leprosy is both a disease not only of the skin but also of its nervous system and this is the only thing it does.

It's nonsense, you lose feeling. Lepers lose their sight because the Lord has filled their body with alarms. And there is an alarm in their eyes that warns you, that they have to close their eyes and open them because otherwise they dry up.

If you miss that alert, if you miss, if you become numb to it, in the long run you are going to lose your sight. If you are insensitive to touch, lepers often lose their hands over a burning fire. They can talk to you just fine and their hands are getting charred because they don't feel anymore, do you know what happens?

The priests say: you have revealed against your God. Do you know what happens when you decide to reject that word? leprosy breaks out Because that is already an area of your existence about which the Lord can no longer heal you. It is already something that the Lord cannot… it is an area that you are going to lose, your sensitivity to the spirit. It is the first thing that one loses, it is the sensitivity to the spirit. And without sensitivity to the spirit comes the next thing: there is no way the Lord can use you.

This poor king lived the rest of his life in a separate house, outside the palace, outside the temple, far from all that. No one sought his advice anymore. That army couldn't even get close to him. A useless man. And his son had to rule for the rest of his kingdom.

you know? I read that, brothers, I have read that and I have been grieved. I'm going to be honest with you: I have grieved for Uzziah. I have said to the Lord: 'Lord, that's just not fair', 'Lord, you went too far, that's very strong. A man who served you all his life, an anointed man, a man you honored, a man who unleashed reforms throughout Judah, how can he be a leper all his life? Miriam, Lord, he did something even uglier, and you healed his leprosy. Akab that he was a scoundrel, Lord, and you had mercy on him and forgave him.

For years I have had that struggle with the Lord. It bothers me more to read Second Chronicles 26. It's a fight with Him. Still preparing for today tonight, fighting with the poor Lord. Until you know what? The Lord tells me this afternoon: "Breakthrough." This afternoon the Lord tells me: “Samuel, Okay. Akab, Miriam, Samuel… where do you see that he asked me to clean it up? Samuel, where do you see that he humbled himself?

I felt that this was the voice of the Lord. “If he had, he would have asked me, Samuel. If he'd only asked. If he had asked me, I could have cleaned it at any time.” And this image of this man came to mind, not only a leper but proud and full of bitterness, all his life, in such a way that he did not even dare to ask the Lord to cleanse him. And that is good news because the Lord exalts the humble. The Lord exalts the humble and that is good news.

There is no leprosy that the Lord cannot cleanse. There is nothing that you have, drag yourself to this place, before your altar, than asking the Lord, humiliated before Him, receiving what we have to receive from the Lord. Because in that way He sanctifies us. And the way He sanctifies us, the closer we get to Him and have access to His power. And the more access we have to his power, the more miracles he does and the more he can use you.

Let's stand up.
